Chapter 4
Jace P.O.V
I wake up, and get dressed in training clothes, before going downstairs to see Alec in the kitchen.
"Why are you wearing that?" Alec asks, looking up.
"Because I'm going to train today." I say, like it is the most obvious thing in the world, which it is, what else would I be doing?
"No, you're not," Alec says, "We are getting a lesson about how to behave at mundane school from Clary, and then we are going to school."
"How could I forget?" I groan as I go back to my room to get changed into clothes that I can wear at school.
"He's finally here, now tell us about mundane school." Izzy says to Clary as I walk back into the kitchen.
"Okay, so there are heaps of different classes, everyone does the base classes, like English, Maths, Science, History, Geography and PDHPE, plus others. Make sure your weapons and runes are covered, and try not to threaten people, mundanes don't like that." Clary explains.
"Great, let's just go and get this done." I say walking out.
Timeskip (to at school)
"Hi guys." Harry says when we meet up with him and Draco in front of Goode High School.
"Hi." Simon replies.
"Wait, aren't you a vampire, how are you in the sun?" Draco asks, suspicious.
"He's a daylighter, that means that he can be in the sun." I reply, only half paying attention. There's another group of kids waiting out the front of the school, they're talking to a person in a wheelchair.
"Magnus, do you know who they are?" I ask Magnus, turning to him as he approaches us.
"I think the person in the wheelchair is Mr Brunner, he teaches history." Magnus replies, turning to look at them. "Also, I'm going to be teaching english." He continues.
"You are? Great." Alec says.
"Yeah. Now, get inside, there's an assembly." Magnus says before turning and walking into the school.
"Welcome to Goode High School." The head teacher says from the stage, "There are a few faculty additions that I would like you to welcome. Mr Bane, an english teacher, Mr Brunner, a history teacher, and Ms Invidia, a maths teacher." She continues, gesturing to Magnus, the person in the wheelchair who we had seen out the front, and a strict looking teacher, as she says their names. "Now, off you go to your first class."
"See you soon." I say to Clary as she goes to her science class and I follow Alec to our maths class, with Ms Invidia.
"Come on children, sit down." Ms Invidia says as we file into the classroom. Alec and I choose seats up the back.
"She reminds me of my last maths teacher," One of the kids from the group that was talking to Mr Brunner whispers to his friends. They sit down in front of Alec and I continue talking indistinctly. I try to ignore them, but eventually it gets too annoying and I lean forward to tap one of them on the shoulder to get their attention.
"Can you be quiet?" I whisper.
"Technically, yes. But I don't want to." The boy says. He has dark hair and sea blue eyes.
"Jace, be nice." Alec says to me, he then turns to the other kids "Sorry about him."
"It's fine, we should be apologising, we were the ones talking." A girl with blond hair and piercing grey eyes replies, putting a hand on the boy's shoulder to stop him from replying. "I'm Annabeth, this seaweed brain is Percy, that's Nico, and that's Jason." She continues, gesturing to the boy with the sea blue eyes, a boy with pale skin and black hair, who is fiddling with a ring that appears to have a skull on it, and a boy with blond hair and blue eyes, in turn.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Alec, and this nuisance is Jace." Alec replies.
"Children up the back, stop talking, and tell me what the answer is." Ms Invidia says.
"x=8" Annabeth replies, with a glance at the board. I'm surprised that she can answer it so quickly, considering she had been talking to her friends, Alec and I the whole time.
"Very good." Ms Invidia says, and turns back to the board.
In no time class has finished and we head out for a break. As we are walking down the hall, still talking to Annabeth and her friends, we find Clary and the others, they are talking to the other kids that were talking with Mr Brunner in front of the school.
"Jace! This is Piper, Will, Hazel, Frank and Leo." Clary says, introducing her new friends.
"Nice to meet you." I say politely.
"Are you going to introduce us?" Izzy asks when we continue walking.
"Yes, this is Nico, Annabeth, Percy, and Jason." Alec replies. They continue with introductions.
"Do you want to sit together?" Piper asks. Clary agrees for us, I can tell that they will be great friends.
"I heard that the school has a rock wall, can we go see it?" I ask when everybody has finished eating.
"Sure," Percy replies, "I bet it won't be as good as the one at camp jupiter." He whispers to Jason, and Jason laughs in reply. The rock wall is fun, and a good way to practise climbing. Alec and Simon wander over to an archery target and start shooting arrows, Will joins them and I'm surprised to see that he can equal Alec.
"You two are going to need to learn how to wield a knife at some point," I say to Harry and Draco, noticing them doing nothing, "Come for a climb on the wall, it will help with strength."
"Okay," Harry replies, before hooking himself onto the wall and starting to climb up it. I notice that while he is not as strong as Clary, Alec, Izzy and I, he is reasonably strong. Soon the bell for class rings and we go to history.
"So we are going to start with Greek and Roman mythology. Who can tell me about Hades?" Mr Brunner asks when everyone is seated. Nico, Will, Hazel, Frank, Percy, Annabeth, Piper, Jason, and Leo, immediately put their hands up, but Mr Brunner ignores them, waiting for someone else to raise their hand. Eventually he allows Nicp to answer,
"Hades is the greek god on the Underworld, his roman form is Pluto. He controls the dead and gems, his siblings are Zeues, Poseidon, Hera, Hestia, Demeter, and others. He is married to Persepone." Says Nico.
"Correct, What is the relationship between Athena and Poseidon?" Mr Brunner asked. Again, the others all put up their hands. Percy was half way through answering when there was a massive crash outside, everyone gets up and ran to see what it was. When we get outside we see that it is a massive demon, like the one from before.
A/N: This is a longer chapter, but probably boring. The next one will have a bit more action. Also, they probably wouldn't actually have a rock wall, and archery available for students to do at anytime, but I thought it would be a good way of getting them to know each other (it's not shown that well, sorry)
