Chapter 4
Guest- Hm…you make good points against the Tau working well with the Asari. Hmm…I'll try to make it so that the Asari are both. Those that are very naïve and see themselves as just a race trying to bring peace and prosperity while also those that are Asari supremacists that are more in line with your thoughts of the Asari. If this doesn't work as intended, I guess I'll rewrite those scenes of Tau and Asari getting along.
Citadel
"This is Emily Wong of Future Content Corporation news service. I'm here at the Citadel Presidium where the new race, officially known as the Tau, are leaving the Citadel tower after hours of long negotiations with the Citadel Council. Though not much details are known about what had been imparted since the two resumed negotiations in private after the shocking revelations that the Tau are allied with the Geth, it is known that the Tau refused membership into the Citadel, becoming the very first race to refuse as a result." Said a human reporter as she, along with countless other reporters, were waiting at the elevator that led towards the Citadel Tower. To their frustration, they were barred from entering the tower by a combination of Tau soldiers and C-Sec officers, though both looked like they were keeping a distance from themselves as well with the C-Sec officers, particularly the human ones, giving the Tau glares of hate, which they ignored. "What the Citadel Council will do with that Tau is a mystery to us? Will they wage war on them after their announcement of their alliance with the Geth? Or will they tolerate the Tau and their Geth allies and welcome them as trade partners? If so, what will become of the Quarians and how will this fare with them that the very things that drove them from their homeworld and colonies are in an alliance with an advanced race with massive warships? We'll answer these questions and more once the Tau representatives exit the Citadel Tower."
As if on que, the elevator that led to the tower went to the reporter's level and out came the Tau representatives and their guards. Upon seeing them, the reporters went into a frenzy, asking the Tau questions that were being drowned out by other questions. The Tau, not wanting to waste time with these reporters, just walked past them, the C-Sec guards and their soldiers doing their best to create a path for the Tau envoy to leave the Citadel for their warships. As they walked, they received glares of hate and anger from the populace of the Citadel. Mostly Humans and Turians along with, once they returned to the Wards, Quarians. Having known ahead of time they would receive such things and more, the Tau ignored them all and returned to their shuttle, ready in case any of the citizens of the Citadel try to do anything stupid.
As they passed, they could hear various news reporters, the ones that weren't asking them questions that weren't asking questions that they would never answer, asking people questions about their opinion of the Tau.
"I cannot believe they refused entry ship into the Citadel." Said an Asari, a displeased expression on her face. "They not only have broken millennia of tradition, they trounce around the Citadel as if they're the new rulers of the galaxy, despite the fact we Asari have been around the galaxy far longer than these upstarts."
"Those Tau will regret the day they made an alliance with the Geth when the System Alliance kicks their ass." Said a human male as he talked to a news reporter. "We kicked the Geth's asses when they invaded the Citadel and we've reduced them to mere bugs now, we can handle a bunch of oversized ships."
"I think they made a fatal mistake coming here and revealing themselves." Said a Turian. "They're completely insane with making AIs and allying with the Geth. And for the Council to just accept them and not impose sanctions on them is just ridiculous. Mark my words, they're AIs will rebel, ally with the Geth, turn against them, and we'll all pay for their foolishness."
With how negative people were reacting and the fact they were in the Wards, where crime was rampant, the Tau envoy quickened their pace so they could get on their shuttle and leave this station before someone does something completely stupid. Thankfully, they reached their shuttle without much incident and the guards posted there have faced no aggressive attacks by angry citizens. Once the envoy boarded the shuttle, it quickly took off and towards the Tau 2nd fleet flagship. As this was happening, Brightsword looked at Aun'shi and asked what will they do now that the Citadel Council has officially recognized them as an independent nation with no ties to the Citadel Council.
"First, we tell Farsight the good news." Said Aun'shi as he looked at Brightsword. "Then, we'll head back to Tau space and figure out a strategy in dealing with any excursions into our territory once it becomes clear that some groups attempt to steal our technology or be threats to the Enclaves." Brightsword nodded at that, agreeing with Aun'shi.
"And of the Quarians?" Asked Brightsword. "They will not be pleased with us for allying with the Geth." Aun'shi nodded at that. It was to be expected. Aun'shi, along with most other Tau commanders, knew that the Quarians will be absolutely furious at them for allying with the machines that robbed them of their homeworld and reduced them to a fleet based people with no planet to call their own. At best, any attempt to contact them will be received with threats of violence. At worst, war will occur between them. One that the Farsight Enclaves can easily win with their vast technological advantages and experience with dealing foes that greatly outnumber them.
But that wasn't the only problem though, no, there was the Collectors and how they would react to the Tau. No doubt in Aun'shi's mind, the Collectors would be vastly interested in the Tau race for they were an unknown species and the Collectors were vastly interested in acquiring unknown genetic material from other races. Given the Tau were a completely new face in the galaxy with unknown genetic make to the rest of the galaxy, no doubt the Collectors will try to acquire some Tau for themselves through any means. And if they were working with the Reapers like Shepard claimed, they'll do it under their orders. Not only for the Tau themselves, but also their grand technology, all of which are developed without being based on technology they were familiar with.
All in all, the Tau represent a clean target that the Reapers would want to study before their invasion, so they can stand a better chance of fighting them. And if the Collectors try to fight the Tau, then they'll make them bleed for ever fighting against the Tau people.
Few days later
Illium
"And in other news, the new species called the Tau have begun moving into their new embassy on the Citadel. Sources claim that it will be placed in the same building where the Hanar are located in. This makes them the only race in galactic history to ever have an embassy on the citadel without being a member. Such a feat demonstrates the sheer significance that these new aliens represent to the galaxy. What the Quarians think about these new aliens is unknown. Given that the Tau are allied with the very machines that kicked them off from their homeworld, they would be very interested in their intentions. And in other news, Batarian slavery activity have…"
"Damn." Said Jacob Taylor, a Cerberus operative that worked under Shepard during his mission against the Collectors, as he and the whole ground team was waiting for Miranda Lawson's, another Cerberus operative that worked with Shepard, contact to arrive. After acquiring the two individuals on Illum they were supposed to pick up, one being an Asari Justicar, a sort of justice bringer in Asari culture, and a Drell assassin, a species that worked lived in the Hanar homeworld known for being great assassins and servants to the Hanar. "Most of the news is around these Tau guys. They really shook the entire galaxy, huh?"
"You're telling me." Said Garrus, remembering the footage he saw of the Tau just suddenly appearing in Citadel space with a massive fleet of oversized dreadnaughts. It was a shocker to them all as the Tau, not only have gigantic ships, but also the ability to bypass relay defense fleets and go straight to an enemy strategic system. To make things even more surprising, they just went and told every being in the galaxy that they were in an alliance with the Geth and that they would fight with them when danger comes to the Geth and vice versa. If anything, the Tau have enormous, as the humans say, balls of steel to go say that in front of the council. "Leaves me a bit nervous with what they plan on doing." Everyone just nodded in agreement. Their Drell assassin, a male named Thane Krios, spoke up.
"They are a quite a mystery." Said Thane. "They have such massive ships, yet they wish to be peaceful with the Citadel. Quite strange. Usually species that build such ships are aggressive and expansive."
"Indeed." Said their Asari justicar, Samara. "They are an oddity. Perhaps, after this mission, we should do some investigating into them. To see if their intentions are as what they stated."
"No doubt, the Illusive man has people on it. Right Miranda." Asked Shepard, looking at his 2nd in command, who nodded.
"There's no doubt that the Illusive man will send what available resources he has to figuring out their Tau and if they're a threat to humanity." Said Miranda. "As he should, at the moment, they have the largest ships in the galaxy and in large quantities. Not to mention they have the ability to bypass the mass relay system and go straight for any homeworld. And that's just the stuff we know. Who knows what else they have up their sleeves?" Some of the team murmured in agreement, wondering what else the Tau have in store for the rest of the galaxy. "The Illusive man will still give most of Cerberus's resources to our mission, however. He knows as much as us that the Reapers and the Collectors have to be stopped." Shepard nodded at that.
"I just hope doesn't do anything stupid and wage war against the Tau." Said Shepard. Despite not knowing the exact power the Tau have, he knew that a war with them will be costly and long. Not something the galaxy can afford when the Reapers were on their way. "We need those massive ships for the Reapers." Miranda nodded in agreement.
"Yes. If they're as benevolent and reasonable as you believe, they'll be an invaluable help against the Reapers." Said Miranda before looking at Tali, who remained quiet since the start of the conversation about the Tau.
Despite her expression being hidden behind her helmet, the team could see that Tali was clearly upset over the talk of the Tau and getting them on their side. And most of them couldn't blame her. She lost, nearly, her entire team to the Tau and Geth. To make matters worse, it was abundantly clear to everyone in the galaxy that the Tau will defend the Geth against any attacks on them, making any Quarian assault to reclaim their lost colonies and homeworld even harder, if not impossible.
When Shepard had asked Tali, after she confirmed to him that she was staying onboard the Normandy to help against the Collectors, about what the Quarians thought of the Tau a few days ago, she told him that, since the Tau had literally just revealed themselves to the Quarian people on Haestrom, there wasn't that much opinion on them. But once word gets out that the Tau are allied with the Geth, the Quarians will no doubt hate the Tau for allying with the Geth, if not more.
Shepard, sensing her discomfort, asked her if she was alright.
"No…no, I'm not Shepard." Said Tali, looking at her friend with slight anger. "These Tau, in just a few days, removed the slight hope that the Quarian people had in reclaiming our homeworld. Not to mention, they brutally killed my team back on Haestrom. I can never forgive them for killing my team, and now I can't ever find myself wanting to work with those…bosh'tets for robbing us of the hope of reclaiming our homeworld! I just…can't find myself to do so." Despite getting an eye roll from Jack for acting like such a baby, Shepard could understand with Tali's sentiment, and even agree to a certain extent.
Shepard, being born in space, had no special connection towards Earth, but he knew that he would find it distasteful if he had to ally with the race that took it from humanity as well as the race that allied with them, despite them having no ties when the first race took Earth. But he also knew that certain circumstances can force one to do things that would leave a disgusted feeling in their stomachs and this was one of them. Taking it easy, Shepard spoke.
"Have you received word from the Migrant fleet?" Asked Shepard. "What they think of the Tau people?" Tali sighed before speaking.
"It's chaos, Shepard." Said Tali. "Some of my people want to go to war with the Tau for this. Others want to conduct negotiations with them in hopes they'll be able to convince the Geth to give us our homeworld back at least. But the majority just feel…hopeless, Shepard. To many of us, the idea of reclaiming our homeworld was the thing that kept them going. To keep trudging forward in a galaxy that mostly despises us, even more so when the Geth attacked two years ago. And now the Tau ripped that hope from us. When the Reapers come, I don't think any of us want to ally with the Tau, Shepard. Not after they ripped our hope of getting our homeworld back from us." Shepard, disappointed at that answer, but expecting it, nodded.
"I'm sorry about that Tali, but you know as well as I that they could be the difference between victory and defeat against the Reapers." Said Shepard. Tali sighed before nodding, knowing that they needed the Tau, no matter how much she found it distasteful. Before anyone else could speak, Miranda got a call from her omnitool. Answering it, she saw that her contact had just arrived. Taking Shepard and Jacob, they went to go meet with her, leaving the rest of the team to think about the Tau and their future role in the galaxy.
Few weeks later
Haestrom
"Have you figured out what is causing it, old friend?" Asked Farsight as he looked at his old friend, O'Vesa. A stout man with black skin and full of wrinkles around his body, a testament to his advanced age.
"Well," Started O'Vesa before showing Farsight a data pad, which he took gently. Unlike during the meeting with Shepard, Farsight was not in a suit of mechanical armor that would make one mistake him as a machine. Now out of his suit of armor, one could see that Farsight was similar to Aun'shi in build, just with more darker skin, like O'Vesa, but unlike him he had no wrinkles on his face. If one didn't know any better, they would assume he was middle-aged for his species. But the truth was that he was far older than most in the Farsight Enclaves. Baring his old friend next to him and some members of the Eight, his elite bodyguards and advisors, he was the oldest Tau in the Farsight Enclaves, far older than what an average Tau lifespan will allow. Both for him and O'Vesa.
How was such a thing done? For O'Vesa, it was simple. He was being kept alive by advanced nano drones of his own design that are keeping him alive. Such technology would be a boon to all civilization to have, but sadly, the sheer precision, time, and resources to make the amount of drones as well as maintaining them to keep a single person alive prevented them from seeing widespread use in the Enclaves. The best O'Vesa can do was create enough drones for a handful of individuals, usually high ranking government officials or great warriors in the military. A sad reality, but one that O'Vesa hoped he could override soon. Especially in this new, more peaceful, galaxy. As for, Farsight, his longevity was a bit stranger. Some might even say preposterous, but it was his blade, the Dawn blade, that was keeping him alive. The same sword that Shepard saw when he confronted him on Haestrom.
Long ago, in a distant planet, Farsight led an expedition to it in hopes to claim it for the Tau empire and the Greater Good. It didn't go so well and thousands upon thousands of his soldiers died that day, killed by beings that just came of nowhere and killed them effortlessly. It was only through Farsight obtaining the Dawnblade and his skills as a leader that saved even a fraction of his forces from death by beings that shouldn't have any right to exist but did. It was also that day that Farsight abandoned the Tau empire and formed the Farsight Enclaves. Since then, he used the Dawn blade against the enemies of his new nation, using to great effect. As the years went on, and Farsight grew older, far older than what a Tau should live for, he suspected the power of the Dawn blade was keeping him alive. It was the only thing on him that could do it. The soldiers that were on that planet when he obtained the sword all died, either through battle or old age, so it couldn't be any strange properties of the planet. He didn't receive the treatment of nano droids like O'Vesa and a handful of other individuals, so it couldn't be that.
That left only the Dawn blade, but how could a sword give him a long lifespan? Truth be told, even Farsight didn't now. Even the top scientists in the Farsight Enclaves, couldn't figure it out, despite having ample time to scan the weapon and figure out what was keeping Farsight alive. The best they could get from it was that the metals the blade was made out of was somehow keeping Farsight alive. How, they didn't know and Farsight had a suspicion that he didn't want to know.
"It's strange." Said O'Vesa, snapping Farsight from his thoughts of the Dawnblade. "It seems that the star in this system is destabilizing. I say in about three or four centuries, it'll explode and destroy anything in this system." Farsight nodded at that, making a note to have the system abandoned once the time limit was nearly up.
"Is that it?" Asked Farsight, causing his friend to shake his head.
"No." Said O'Vesa. "The strange thing is, the sun is far too young to be destabilizing itself naturally. It's still young enough, if such a thing can be given to stars, to not destabilize itself naturally. My best guess is that dark energy is the cause, but I need more information to verify that." Farsight nodded at that.
"You'll have it." Said Farsight. "So long as you can keep focus on your other projects my friend." That caused O'Vesa to shake his head.
"Of course, my old friend." Said O'Vesa. "We're beginning testing of the new XV8 crisis suits as well as finishing the final retrofit of the 3rd fleet's railguns to be outfitted with element zero. You'll have the data at the end of the month." Farsight nodded at that before leaving his friend to his work. Walking out of the facility that O'Vesa and his fellow earth caste scientists and researchers were in, studying the dying star of Haestrom, Farsight walked to a nearby shuttle, waiting to take him to his flagship, where the rest of the eight was stationed in.
Once he arrived in his flagship, he went to a room outfitted with numerous computers and tables with holographic emitters that showcased various systems that had Mass relays that allowed one entry to systems deeper in both Tau and Geth space. In this room, aside from various Fire Caste tacticians and air caste workers, were the Eight, Aun'shi, and a Geth platform. Upon seeing Farsight, everyone stood at attention. Beckoning them all to stand down, Farsight took his position next to Arra'kon and Brightsword and asked what they are planning to do now that the galaxy knows of their existence.
"Despite the Water Caste belief that we'll have a good relationship with the council, I have my doubts." Said Brightsword. "Reports from Geth infiltrators have noticed a sudden increase of Turian and Alliance military production as well as fleet movements to their outer colonies. While these may not seem harmful, it should be enough for us to do the same should war break out between us and the Citadel."
"Probability of attack by Citadel council is at thirty-eight percent. Increased to fifty-five if they discover the massive Geth fleet as well as how advanced our technology is." Said Ob'lotai 9-0.
"Indeed." Said Arra'kon as he pointed to a hologram depiction of the Perseus Veil and the systems that connected to system that went past it. "As a result, I recommend we establish several void stations near these Mass relays to both guard against any Collector or pirate attacks against us as well as to prevent espionage attempts by the STG, the Shadow broker, and any other entity that deals in acquiring intelligence for their people."
"Agreed." Said Farsight. Much as he wanted peace with the Council, he also knew that they must prepare for war with them in the event that war is inevitable. "In the meantime, what about the Collectors? Have anything new been discerned about them."
"No." Said Arra'kon. "Aside from them abducting another colony in the Terminus systems, there haven't been reported Collector movements near any of our territories." Farsight hummed at that. There was no doubt in his mind that the Collectors will try to abduct some of his people. If they truly are working with the Reapers as they and the Geth suspected, then they'll be sent by their masters to abduct some of his people for dissection and to learn more about them. It's only a matter of time before a Collector ship was found in their territory and attempt to abduct some of their people. Well, if they tried that, they'll be in for a massive fight.
"If a Collector ship is found in our territory, disable it as soon as possible." Ordered Farsight. "We need more information about this race and the only way to acquire it, it seems, is to capture one of their ships." Everyone nodded at that, agreeing with Farsight on this. "Arra'kon, you have command of the fleets that are responsible for defending our territories from all external threats. Ob'lotai 9-0, collaborate with the Geth to protect us from any espionage and cyberthreats to us. Torchstar, you're with Brightsword and Aun'shi. You are to help them in guarding our trade ships with the Citadel Council as well as guarding our people from any threats to them, whether they be pirates or Collectors. Sha'vastos, you are to assist me in overseeing the new war gear that is being tested on Haestrom and other facilities. When the Reapers come, these new weapons will be invaluable in protecting our people." Everyone nodded and accepted their new roles with grace. It was then that the sole Geth in the room, a platform by the name of speaker, spoke.
"Platform X-02 has just reported in that it has intercepted a transmission from a Turian patrol unit. It concerns the Collectors." Said Speaker. That caused everyone to look at the Geth in surprise. "The transmission reports that they disabled a single Collector ship, but have sustained heavy damage and are requesting reinforcements to both provide assistance and to capture the ship for it's technology." Upon hearing that, everyone looked at each other in suspicion.
"A single Turian patrol fleet was able to disable a Collector cruiser?" Asked Brightsword. "That doesn't seem plausible."
"The only plausible explanation is that the Turian vessels spotted the ship while it was conduction repairs from a previous battle." Said Ob'lotai 9-0 before turning towards Speaker. "Is there any information that provides insight on the Collector ship's status prior to the battle with the Turians?"
"Negative." Said Speaker. "All it entails is that they disabled the ship and are requesting assistance. However, there are several strange oddities surrounding the distress call." That caused the Eight and Aun'shi to look at him with even more interest. "The secondary encryption algorithms of the distress call are heavily corrupted or are missing data. The Turian hierarchy does not allow such errors to be done with their patros fleets. Especially ones that are patrolling near the Terminus systems and Attican Traverse. Even more so when anomaly spreads throughout the entire fleet. It stands to reason that this is a trap."
"A trap?" Asked Brightsword in surprise. Not at the idea and methods behind the trap itself, no, but rather why the Collectors would even bother with it. They mainly go for human colonies in the Terminus systems, where they're usually lightly defended, if at all. And from they gathered, they always hit the colonies right at their homes and leave once they capture everyone on said colony. So, why were they attempting a trap out in space? The only plausible explanation was Shepard and his mission. "Are they trying to catch Shepard?"
"It stands to reason." Said Arra'kon. "Two days ago, we received confirmation that Shepard and his team had repelled the Collectors from a human colony in the Terminus systems called Horizon. They still captured a good portion of the colony, but they stopped them from acquiring everyone on it. Given that, along with his part in taking down Nazara sometime ago, it's possible the Collectors did this in the off chance that Shepard would find their damaged ship and spring their trap."
"But why?" Asked Torchstar, a female Tau that was far younger than every other Tau in the room. "Something like this could go wrong on so many ways. What if Shepard didn't find the distress signal? What if the people who respond is a Turian fleet? Or an Alliance fleet? Or even pirates. This method of attempting to capture Shepard has very little chance of success."
"Regardless, this presents an opportunity for us." Said Sha'vastos. "We're in desperate need of intelligence on the Collectors. On their numbers, technology, and their base of operations. This a perfect opportunity for us to acquire that intelligence."
"Plus, since the distress call emits from the Terminus systems, we don't have to worry about the Council getting in our way." Said Brightsword. "I agree with Sha'vastos. This is a golden opportunity for us to acquire information on the Collectors and if they're making plans to try to acquire some of our people." Farsight nodded in agreement. He then looked at everyone else in the room, who had faces of agreement on them as well.
"Then it seems that we in as one mind." Said Farsight before looking at Torchstar. "Torchstar, you and Brightsword are with me. We're leading a detachment of the first fleet to capture the Collector ship." Torchstar, eager for a battle again, smiled savagely before leaving to gather her forces. Once she was gone, Brightsword looked at Farsight.
"Commander, on the off chance that Shepard arrives either before or after us, what will we do?" Asked Brightsword. Farsight then focused solely on his friend before speaking.
"We help him." Said Farsight. "We're both after the same thing, after all." Brightsword nodded at that before leaving with Farsight along with everyone else now that the meeting was over.
Meanwhile
Terminus systems
Sathur
Victor Clark sighed as he continued to monitor the solar system for any anomalies that were coming their way. Right now, he was the only one on duty. Everyone else was either sleeping or eating in the mess hall. As he did so, he wondered what the hell he did wrong to get stuck in a dead end job like this. He graduated from the highest institution in Sathur, a human colony out in the Terminus systems, got a degree in engineering and everything and yet he was stuck being a relay guard in Sathur, keeping an eye on the relay in the event that pirates or any other off worldly scum tries to attack Sathur, hoping for some easy score on the human colony.
He didn't know why governor Suchart was worried so much. Sure the recent abductions of human colonies in the Terminus systems were nothing to scoff at, but Sathur was a prized planet to the human system's alliance. They were growing Ossilbir, a highly-nutritious vine that was being used in the production of military rations for the System's alliance military. Despite protests around the induction of the vine to the colony as it was an off worldly plant that could disrupt the planet's eco system, the bill around introducing it to Sathur, which was an ideal place for it to grow, was passed, but only so that it was done in a controlled environment so that they don't piss of the people that despised the idea of introducing foreign substances to the point that they openly revolt against the governor and the people in charge of the colony.
But getting back to the point, since they were producing the vine, Clark was assured that the Alliance would send a fleet to liberate them from any pirate attacks should such an event occur. Those pig-headed, alien lovers loved their vine, considering it a delicacy as far as military food goes. Even if they didn't arrive in time, Sathur had a good few thousands armed security personal that can hold off any typical pirate gang until the Alliance got off it's high horse and sent help. But Suchart was having any of it and had Clark and a few others stationed in a small asteroid base near the relay so they could warn the colony in the event pirates come to attack them. Needless to say, Clark was bored with the assignment and silently wished the month would end soon so he could go back to his snug apartment in Sathur and perhaps visit his sister's family when this was over.
Playing a game on his omnitool, Clark was so engrossed in it that he almost didn't notice the relay activating. Thinking it was just an Alliance ship coming for it's weekly pick up of Ossilbir, it was only a quick glance of the ship that Clark noticed that it wasn't an Alliance ship, but rather a Batarian ship. Snapping into attention, Clark saw more Batarian ships coming out of the relay until six frigate-sized ships appeared with three cruiser sized ships with them.
Blinking in shock and horror, Clark looked again at the ships and realized that they were indeed Batarian ships. The hammerhead bow design and the multiple jagged teeth-like protrusions between that bow and the rest of the ship pointed to this being a Batarian raid for slaves.
Knowing the Batarians were a savage race that still employed slavery in the time of age where such practices were pointless, Clark immediately tried to contact the colony's garrison. To warn them of the coming danger. To his dismay, the commlink wasn't working. He tried resetting the system, only to receive static. After that failed, he tried activating the emergency alarms in the station, built in as a last resort in case the communication systems were, for some reason, offline. To his dismay, they were down too.
"God damnit!" Yelled Victor as he activated his omni tool and tried to find what the problem was through it. Off all the times for a system wide failure on the station to occur, it had to be the day when a Batarian slave fleet arrived to raid the colony for slaves. He had to fix it soon or else the colony will be left vulnerable to the depravity of the Batarians. Hearing stories of the Batarians and their cruelty to their slaves, Clark didn't want that for his sister and her family. Not her baby girl and boy. Not to their parents. Not to his childhood crush. Not to anyone on Sathur.
As he attempted to figure out what was going wrong with the station's communication systems and the emergency alarm, the door that allowed entry to the room opened. Thinking it was one of his fellow colleagues on the station, Clark yelled at them to help him figure out what was going on with the station and to fix it as a Batarian fleet just arrived in system. After getting no response, Clark was about to turn and yell at them when he heard their footsteps were louder than should be possible for a human. Even if they were in the heaviest suit of armor deployed in the Alliance military. Before he could even turn around, his head was grabbed by a massive hand, encased in a thick metal gauntlet. Before he could even blink, the hand crushed his head like a tomato, sending blood all over it's gauntlet that the owner ignored.
Letting go of the deceased human, the owner of the giant hand trudged deeper into the room, revealing his true height.
He was a massive figure, eclipsing even a Krogan in height. He was clad in armor that was so heavily plated in thick armor that one would have thought it would weigh them down significantly to the point they can't walk, but the figure wore it all with no hints of tiring. The armor had a massive backpack that was nearly as massive as the figure's torso and had several radiators at the bottom. Along with the armor were massive shoulder pauldron that showed a three-headed reptilian beast on them. Lastly, the armor was painted primarily blue with some green as a secondary. The helmet glowed red as the figure glanced at the control room of the asteroid base's communication systems.
Bringing out a massive, single-edged sword with sharp teeth that looked well-suited to ripping the flesh off of any fool that dared to come across this being in close combat. Activating a button on the handle of the sword, the sharp teeth began to move, revealing that they were on a motorized belt, the figure began to hack and slash the various consoles around the room, making any attempt to repair the damage ultimately futile. Once he was done, sparks and loose wire were everywhere. Consoles let loose sparks as oil leaked out of the slashes that the armored giant did to them.
Seeing that he was done, the giant left the station to complete another objective. One that was far more vital to his mission than the carnage he did to this station.
