The day the Earth stood still

Chapter Two

The nighttime sky for Klatu was strange to see at the moment. Before heading inside to talk with the council members and president. It was an odd red streaking across the darkened sky caused by the recent radiation being released.

Klatu hated to see his planet slowly dying away while his mind was on Helen Benson after all this time. He looked up taking in a deep breath as his features showed that he was somewhat confused.

He really needed to get away from his home planet of Anders. He had been fixing up his own vehicle with a crew of two and one robot that hadn't been activated as yet. Klatu was able to pull out the main computer powerpack from his brain. He didn't need this robot to take over while he and his crew were on the way back to Earth.

He had a feeling that the council and president his own grandfather would be kicking him out and off the planet in exile.

Take a brief look at the time. He really needed to find out his fate for now. Turning away from the sky and the chill of the air. Klatu headed inside the main building of headquarters for both the military and private business.

Meanwhile all eight of the council members and Ellison his grandfather aged one hundred ninety years old. He was sitting reading over his report on Klatu and others fighting against the government. He took a sip of his blue ginger drink on the side of him. There was silence when there was a knock on the door Ellison and his council members knew it was Klatu.

A security officer in white and black was able to let in Klatu where he would be standing in front of them for his fate.

Earth Time...

Helen Benson wasn't able to sleep any further after talking to her son Bobby. She found out that her son was heading to Israel and the Gaza region.

Her son and his group will be sent in to help with trying to retrieve the hostages for now. Even though the United States is in a delicate situation at the moment.

Moving away from the main window in her bedroom living in Washington, D.C. Helen was worried that something was going to happen to her son after all of these years.

When he was young the meeting of Klatu. For that particular time, she never really believed her son in regard to Klatu and the robot. Professor Barnhart and the main scientists were meeting at the spacecraft in Washington, D.C. to discuss the possible destruction of Planet Earth.

She headed for the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea and a sandwich since it was getting to be almost five in the morning.

All of a sudden there was a phone call coming in on her blue cell phone to have the woman jump on her nerves. She had no idea just who it might be at the moment.

Seeing the caller's I.D. on the front screen to be General John Lewis of the Army and Pentagon. All of a sudden she had a lump in her throat.

Pressing the black button on the screen. "General Lewis what can I do for you?" she had asked.

General Lewis was a high-profile officer in the Army and had close ties to President Biden. He's been a general for the last five years and a very popular officer for those who have served under him.

"Helen, I need for you to come to the Pentagon. I am not able to advise you over the phone as to what exactly is going on at the moment," he tells her in a gruff voice.

"I just don't understand General. Please tell me as to why you're going to be needing me in the first place?" she advised with a tone that the general didn't like one bit.

Shaking his head for the moment in his office alone. "Never mind Helen just come anyways and I will be explaining to you what exactly is going on." he alluded for the most part with another sitting in his office waiting for a proper response.

Thinking about it briefly..."Very well General, I will be there within the hour and your office. This has better be good, sir?" she said with venom in her voice.

"Excellent!" he responded. "I will see you within the hour." General John Lewis hangs up the phone to face the president of the United States. He turns to face the elder waiting..." She's coming Mr. President." he alluded...

"Excellent! Now we wait. But in the meantime I need to call the White House for a quick briefing." he tells the general.

Klatu was waiting for his grandfather to speak while the rest of the council were reading reports on other matters until it was time.

Ellison lifted his head from his drink and his report on Klatu. Klatu had been in trouble for the longest time with the council and the planet of Anders. In a gruff tone with his voice. Klatu what do you have to say for yourself for the most part?" he advised as he looked over at the rest of the council.

"Grandfather I am sick and tired of what is going on with the council and yourself. Things have changed for the worse during the last twenty years ever since I came back from Earth." he snorted with his tone of voice.

Shaking his head in disbelief..."I don't understand Klatu! please explain this to me?" Ellison needed to say to him that Klatu did not like what he was seeing with his grandfather.

Thinking about it for a brief moment for his answer. " Grandfather this planet is dying and the entire population knows it as with yourself and the council. I know that you're going to be ousting me off this planet and why I will be heading for planet Earth to live the rest of my life no matter how long it's going to be." he cried out with his response.

Ellison stood up in anger as he had to catch his breath. "HOW DARE YOU, Klatu! This planet is not dying as evidence has shown to us by the military." Crying out with a further deep breath. "The council and I have decided to be rid of you by having one of the military vessels drop you off at one of Andromeda's planetoids along with enough supplies to keep you alive for a while.

Klatu knew this was going to happen and as to why he knew which military vessel he and his friends would be able to get away from Anders without a laser fired directed at the vessel and those inside the spacecraft...
