Chapter 9: It's supposed to be a Celebration
Van Reichnott is with his personal council reviewing the damage caused by the Waves, and they're very thankful that is not very serious, damages to the structures are negligible and the casualties are very light, over two dozen wounded and two death, the first is a travelling trader who didn't make it to the safety of the fort in time, and the second is a man-at-arms stationed at the walls who was fending off multiple giant insects until he unwittingly loss his footing and fell to his death.
"The healers are taking care of the twenty who got wounded in battle; eight of them are quite severe that it'll take months for them to fully recover" Reported Andreas the Master-at-arms as he continues. "A small funeral will be held for that one fallen soldier and the dead trader is being ship back to his hometown."
"Their deaths are unfortunate, but at least this aftermath is far better than last time." Reichnott's Maester Thadeus remarked which everyone can agree on. The event of the First Wave leave many dead, villages wiped out, towns nearly destroyed, armies almost shattered, they now see why the Heroes both the Legendary and Vassals are needed for they can turn the tides against the growing threat.
"Are there any more civilian casualties?" Reichnott asked.
The Captain of the Guards Bernhard answers with a smile. "Besides the one trader none, as you ordered we gathered all the villagers both humans and demi-humans in our territory and take them to the safety of our fortress."
"Right now they're leaving to return to their respective villages and towns." Andreas added.
Reichnott sigh a relief. "That's good to know, have our builders help them in repairing their homes after they finish with ours."
"As you wish, my Lord." Thadeus begins writing the order.
"Good, now are there any other topics we need to discuss?" Reichnott looks around at his council ready to adjourn the meeting until Thadeus speaks up.
"Yes, there is one more, a messenger from Queen Mirellia, a Shadow."
The mood suddenly become tense, to have one of the Queen's best spies come to them and not a simple letter means that it is very important, one they'll listen carefully. On cue two women appear before them, recognizing the cloak and mask but their attention turns to the other one who is dressed more provocative.
"Greetings miss; I'm surprise that our Queen decided to send one of her bests here to relay her message." Reichnott welcomes the newcomers. "Does she require my service?"
"Indeed, but before I say anything else, is this room secure?"
"Hold on for a moment." Reichnott turns to Bernhard and orders him. "Please activate the seal."
He nods as he touches a crystal orb, a short incantation later and the room's occupants feel a faint wave of magic. What the man did is a simple spell that prevents any sounds from leaving the room, perfect for the most private conversation or highly confidential meetings.
"There, the room is now secured, no one can hear us."
The Shadow nods in appreciation as she continues. "Thank you, this message from the Queen will involve a certain neighbor of yours."
They immediately know who she is talking about. "Idol Rabier, I do hope this is about getting rid of that horrid and disgusting pig." Andreas said, he has great disdain for that fat noble, secretly sending bandits and slavers to harm or abduct the demi-humans under Reichnott's protection, but what he hates more about that monster is his sick hobby of tormenting innocent children believing that what he's doing will grant him a higher place in heaven.
"If this is about taking him out it will be difficult, despite the fact that we have multiple evidence of him sending out those attacks he's mostly able to get out of it almost scot free." Reichnott was having a hard time dealing with that man, Rabier is an ardent supporter of the Three Heroes Church as well as a close ally of king Aultcray as such they'll always help him out in getting a slap on the wrist or no punishment at all.
"You don't have to worry about him anymore, Lord Reichnott." Gaining their attention she presents the woman next to her. "This woman is Anko Mitarashi, an acquaintance of Lady Kushina Uzumaki."
"A pleasure to meet you all, though we're more of a comrade than an acquaintance as we're come from the same village." This raises some questions from the council.
"I heard the news that the Shield Hero fought in the Waves with a considerably large group, the word is spreading fast and I fear the king might do something about." The young governor stated his concerns for the young Hero and his friends.
The woman smiles not worried a bit about the angry old man. "Don't worry, the Queen's decree is keeping him from doing something stupid, but if he does we already have countermeasures for it."
"Still, you should be careful; he and the princess will surely try underhanded means to get rid the Shield Hero's companions and hamper his growth."
"If you don't mind a question but are you from the same world as the Shield Hero?" Thadeus asked.
"Pretty much, we can use summoning that is similar to how you summon your Heroes, but with a lot of differences that is."
The council murmur to one another at this interesting news, Reichnott then asks her. "How many comrades can you summon?"
"I'll not say the exact numbers but a lot," They're still new when it comes to summoning from different worlds as this is far different than summoning animals. "Now, let's focus on why I'm here, your unpleasant neighbor from the north. I have a plan that'll benefit the both of us, helping each other for the best of this kingdom." And so Anko laid out the her original plan which is a simple bag and drag operation, she can easily do this herself but upon learning more info that they'll be many slaves she's adding rescue mission on top of it meaning she'll need help, she'll employ the help of Kakashi, Kurenai, Genma, and Raido in order for this to be a complete success.
The Village of Lute
A day after the Wave the people has begun working in rebuilding many of the destroyed or damaged homes, the shinobis always help with them, Tsunade and Shizune had set up a medical triage to help out the injured, despite some serious injuries there are no fatalities. Naruto with the use of his trademark jutsu created a hundred Shadow Clones to help with the carpenters, and he already has an experience in construction works thanks to his time helping Tazuna and his men in building the bridge in the Land of Waves. These acts of kindness will make the people see that Shield Hero is more caring and helpful, something that Kushina and Mirellia want as this will challenge the view of the Three Heroes Church.
Even when the Waves is over there are some shinobis who on high alert or vigilant, because they reveal themselves to the public and participate in battle news of their existence will surely spread fast, and no doubt the rotten royals and the cult will send shadows after them to either gather more information or outright eliminate them. Kakashi, Hizashi, and Santa using their respective ability to detect had already dispatched five Shadows since the end of the Waves.
The villagers expected that the repairs would last days if not weeks, but since the damages are not that much and with the help of the Clones they're able to fix it all in just the hours of this morning. Right now they're just applying the finishing touches on a roof.
"And here we go," A man said as he hammers the last nail. "The roof is done."
"All done in a single morning," Another man commented as he turns to Naruto and his fellow genins. "Thank you for helping us, Shield Hero."
A third man who's putting away all the tools shows his gratitude. "Yeah, we owe you all big time, I shudder to imagine what would've happen if you and your companions weren't here during that horrid event."
Naruto smiles and gives them a thumb up. "Don't worry about it, even if I'm not the Shield Hero I would still help people in need."
"What are the other Heroes doing anyway?"
Sasuke steps up to answer. "Hunting down the Boss," It almost sounds like the three heroes don't care until he adds. "To be fair that's how to end a Wave."
While the villagers believe the three Heroes slain the Boss they didn't know that the killing blow is done by Kakashi. The genins learns from them that the three Heroes along with Malty are quite annoyed that they basically stole their kill as well as taking the corpse away before they have the chance to take a body part.
Kushina went to them after helping with the preparation of a huge feast. "I see that you're all done, and just in time too, lunch is ready."
"Sweet, I'm starving since I wake up." Kiba said.
"After everything we been through, we all deserve a hearty feast." One of the carpenters said.
The workers and genins cheer as they make their way to the middle of town, a light celebration for the end of the Second Waves as well as the fact that there's no death in Lute. The villagers have set up rows of tables and chairs, bread and pastries, grilled games and salmon, smoked duck and sausages, fruits and vegetables, and many more along with beer and mead; it might not look much to the eyes of the nobles it is good and plentiful for the lower class as well for the shinobi present. After thanking for the food they dine in and enjoy the feast with singers and musicians providing entertainment.
Naruto's plate is filled with all kinds of meat though he express that he misses ramen, Hinata trying some of the pastries, Kiba feeding Akamaru with chop up sausage, Sakura is eating next to Sasuke who's blushingly eating from her spoon, Raphtalia and Guy talking about methods and training that'll increase speed and strength, Shino is conversing with a girl whom he saved yesterday, Tsunade chugging down beer emptying mug after mug which Shizune is keeping her from drinking too much. At the other table the rest of the jonins are enjoying the celebration, some of the town folks watch in amazement as Doto is chowing down large amounts of food, the only ones missing are Raido and Santa who on a lookout against hostile Shadows, Muta and Iwashi went back to their world to deliver the specimens along with the rest of the Anbu except for Taji and Yugao, and Anko went to speak with a noble for a secret assignment.
"Hey, Mom, what's mead, and can I try it? I saw Kiba drink four mugs saying its sweet but he became woozy."
"Mead is an alcoholic drink just like sake." Kushina looks at Kiba who is now being reprimand by Kurenai, he's supposed to ask his sensei for permission first and even then he'll only be able to drink just one mug. "You can only have a half a mug, and no more than that."
"Okay, and thank you." Naruto take a swig and relish at the sweetness of the drink.
"That's too bad; you being drunk would be very hilarious." Sasuke teased him.
Naruto just ignores him but did groan in annoyance, and turns to his Hyuga friend. "Hinata, would you like to try?"
"No thanks, I don't I can handle it or any alcohol." Naruto nods and didn't think much of it as he empties the mug, he notices Hinata showing him a spoonful of stew. "Have you tried this, it's really good."
Naruto take a bite from her spoon. "Mm, that tastes good, what is it?"
"Herbed venison stew, I helped the cooks in making it," Hinata went on to explain how it was prepared, from seasoning the meat with salt and lots of unique herbs to boiling at the right temperature.
Kushina smiles at the two's interaction as she eats her meal and enjoy the music, hearing some conversation from the others.
"The weights are working very well, Sir Guy, when I removed them before battle yesterday I felt like I'm light as a feather."
"Feels good does it? That is the reward for training and working very hard."
"How did you able to control all your bugs?"
"It's a mutual relationship, I let them feed on my chakra and in return they follow my every command, every Aburame goes through a method that let the symbiosis happen."
"Ooh that's so neat, do you think I can have my own?"
He pats the girl's shoulder and with an apologetic tone. "Sorry to say but you need to be a baby for that to happen, as for the method, you don't want to know."
"Kiba, how are you doing?"
"I'm f-ffiiine, no need to wwory abot mee." After he said this the young Inuzuka pukes out all the contents of his stomach.
"Ha ha ha ha! I win again."
"Oh I think I'm going to vomit."
"How did you able to eat so much and hold it all in, Sir Doto."
"Ha, that's a clan's secret."
"Lady Tsunade, please don't drink too much."
"Oh lighten up, Shizune, we're in no immediate danger, you should relax like the rest."
"At least there's no casino or gamble hall around these parts."
"Jiraiya, glad you made it, come have a seat."
Kushina and some of the jonins look at the new arrival; they would turn their attention back to their meal until Jiraiya said in an urgent voice. "Sorry to ruin the happy mood but I need to speak to you, Kushina, Kakashi, Kurenai,Hizashi, and any other shinobi who want to hear me now."
"News from our world or the king and princess are up to something again?" Tsunade swears that if that old fart and the brat of a princess are planning something again she would break their arm.
"Unfortunately, the latter would be the case."
Jiraiya and the other higher ranking shinobis find themselves in a vacant building a good distance away from the festivities, Genma and Taji are at the door so no one can get in and Hizashi using his Byakugan to ensure that the house is empty and there's no one outside to eavesdrop on them, once the everything is secured they proceed to listen what the Toad Sage have to say.
"Alright then, what's the news?" Kushina asked, though she already has a good guess to what it is.
"The king and princess are at it again, since news of our existence is now spreading to the general populace they sought to remove everyone close to Naruto, similar to before but now they'll try harder and with more effort."
"With their reputation in the mud you think they give up by now and focus in running the country." Shizune remarked.
"I read their history, the Shield Hero is seen as a devil in Melromarc and Siltvelt who regard the Shield Hero as a god had been at war for centuries until Queen Mirellia had negotiated peace, and the king has a deep hatred for them to the point of being petty right now in going after Naruto to spite his enemies." There is more to this history which is that Aultcray's sister and mother was killed allegedly by demi humans, Kushina sympathizes for his loss but that does not excuse his current actions.
They are already aware about Aultcray's history with Siltvelt and the previous Shield Hero, no doubt blinded by grudge and the inability to say no to his bratty daughter has cause him to do stupid things.
"So their plan will begin during the banquet, for fighting in the Waves the king wants to reward the Heroes with a feast and then given a large sum of silver tomorrow, he invited Naruto and the rest of us surprisingly. They're going to snatch Hinata and many of the other genins, and some jonins if possible,"
"Just what are they planning to do with my niece if they succeeded?" There's been an attempt to kidnap Hinata before, and because of that Hizashi will not let them put their filthy hands on her.
"This one would be the princess's idea, selling them to slavery, Beloukas was able to gain the additional information from his fellow traders, once they apply the Slave Seal they'll secretly ship them off to Siltvelt and Shieldfreeden without informing those countries who they are."
As expected the jonins especially those who knew or close to the targeted genins are very appalled.
"Just how low will they go for the king's petty revenge and the cult's barbaric goals?" Kurenai commented the image of Hinata in shackles and wearing nothing but rags made her blood boil.
"Planning to kidnap and enslave the members of renowned Shinobi Clan is considered an act of war." Tsunade was tempting to make the first strike marching to the castle herself and bash their heads in with her bare hands.
"As for how they going to do it, they'll snatch them while we are distracted by the duel between Naruto and the Spear Hero."
Kushina is surprise by this fact. "Wait what, a duel, Naruto and Motoyasu, why would they even duel?"
"It got to do with Raphtalia," Upon mentioning the demi human few of the jonins glance out the window to look at the raccoon girl. "You are all aware that Melromarc practice slavery on the beastmen and demi humans, the thing is that the three Heroes don't know about this fact at all, and the princess will take advantage of this and tell him Motoyasu that Naruto had enslaved a demi human girl, this will prompt the Spear Hero to challenge the Shield Hero for Raphtalia's freedom."
"Wait a minute, that doesn't make any sense, Raphtalia is not a slave." Shizune brings this one factor up.
"Well when they learned about her they just assumed that she is a slave like the rest of the demi humans in this country."
Kushina sighs and mentions one of Motoyasu's traits. "Despite interacting with him a few times I can already tell that Motoyau is a naïve and gullible young man who is very easily fooled by women believing that they can't tell lies and take their word as truth regardless if it's true or not, as well as a skirt chaser flirting with any attractive woman he sees. No doubt he'll completely ignore that slavery is legal here or won't believe that Raphtalia is actually free."
"That kind of man will not last long in our world, all it will take is a female genin with kunai knife lulling for him to sleep and then cut his throat." Tsunade commented.
"With everything said I think I don't have to say that we should avoid going to the Capital with the king and princess in charge and that cult active. Ignore their invitation or accept but not actually going." Jiraiya said. Aside spying on the royals he was also digging through the church's library and archives, he found some journals of the previous popes and learned that they've been planning to take absolute control of the nation for some time now not to mention that they keep talking about some sacred artifact.
"I heard that they've been sending Shadows after us?" Shizune asked.
"Yes, but thanks to Santa, Hizashi, and me we're able to prevent them from getting closer, leading them to dead ends and or disposing them." Kakashi reported.
Jiraiya also adds about that one. "They actually lost one fourth of their best Shadows trying to find us."
While they're talking about their future plans and reports Kushina have an idea. "I have a suggestion, and I like to know all your opinions on this one." And so Kushina tells them of her plan: they would go to the party all of the genins and some jonins attending there would be Shadow Clones and another group of jonins will be disguised as nobles or guards, on the finer details about the duel Tsunade suggests that when Motoyasu challenges Naruto he have to accept he have to give up half of his rewards if he lost and if he cheats or anyone interferes the fight on his behalf he'll be facing her, and to make it fair a Shadow loyal to Mirellia will be the referee; as for the abduction they're going to let them capture the clones during the duel, when they're at the back alley is when the disguised shinobi will strike killing the captors while capturing the few for interrogation.
The others have second thoughts or doubts about it, but Jiraiya then realizes and explains the positives of this if they let the public know of the abduction attempt and recording of it as proof along with the captors' confession it'll be a huge blow to the reputation of the royals and the cult; another thing to this is the Clans will now can get closely involve: Hyuga, Uchiha, Inuzuka, and Aburame, sending diplomats demanding answers for this crime and reparation, the king will definitely not deny them since he and his nations are in the wrong and the abduction will be seen as an act of war something they don't favor considering the current predicament. Of course first they'll send a message to the aforementioned clans to see what they think and if they're willing to participate in this.
After some planning in who will go and disguise they return to the feast and prepare for tonight.
Hours Later
It is nighttime and at the castle they had prepared a royal banquet for the Heroes and their companions for celebrating the end of the Second Wave, while the three Heroes are happy they felt that they don't deserve this considering that someone else killed the boss but Malty cheer them up, she and the king also make it sure that these three are the ones who saved the day not some strangers.
"Heroes, thanks to your effort the battle against the Wave are splendidly won, and thus we celebrate, enjoy yourselves to the fullest!" The king declared raising his cup for a toast and the guests did the same and cheer.
Most of the nobles waste no time in bombarding the heroes with praise.
"The Heroes have done well."
"Thank you, Great Heroes."
"Casualty report stated that that we suffered a very minimal loss."
"With the Heroes on our side we have nothing to fear."
As they're praising there are also whispers questioning about a certain Hero.
"What of the Shield Hero, what have he done during the Waves?"
"From the Knights' reports he took part in defending the town of Lute."
"Another point of interest is that they summoned some friends from their own world."
"That's impossible; surely you didn't make that up?"
"Even if you don't believe the report the proof is right there."
Some of the nobles stare at a small group near a table, the Shield Hero is there along with the rest of the genins, the only adults there is Kushina, Tsunade, and Guy, and they also took note of a demi human dining with them.
Naruto and Kiba are chowing down a lot of food at the buffet table, while the lunch from Lute is great the meal served here in the castle is really good and there are a lot to choose from, Sakura chatting with Raphtalia, Hinata trying some of the cakes, Sasuke and Shino eating quietly at the other end.
"Oh man, these food are good, too bad I didn't bring Akamaru he would've love these."
"Maybe after the party we can try to ask some for him."
"Hey, you two don't eat too much, remember why we're here." Sasuke said to them, which happens to remind them of the upcoming confrontation.
"You know, Sakura, I'm actually very curious about your friend Ino, and what was she like?"
"Yeah, you can say that we have a love-hate friendship saying that she'll marry Sasuke someday, HA, everyone knows it's gonna be me!"
Kushina and Tsunade are less talkative and more observant, looking around for hostiles and looking for their comrades. Kushina already spots Kurenai and Taji disguised as noblewomen, Tsunade saw Jiraiya skulking behind the crowd wearing a noble's attire, two knights walk pass them which they immediately know that it's Kakashi and Genma, they didn't see Raido or Yugao or the others but they know they're close. They're pretending to eat and drink while the disguised shinobi began doing their work from the shadow.
Not far from them is that arrogant knight captain who is entertaining a bunch of noble ladies. "And so, there I was, facing off against a massive monster, I fought it alone with pride, as dictate as a Royal Knight!"
Hearing this, Naruto just burst out laughing gaining the attention of the knight captain and his admirers. "That's a lie, you didn't do crap except nearly burning Lute and almost hurting everyone in it!"
Kiba also add this to spite the jerk. "Yeah, not only that but you left without swinging your sword and not to mention peeing your pants, geez, I can smell that from a mile away!"
The genins and the nobles laugh at the man's humiliation after hearing that embarrassing detail, while others who didn't laugh just looks at him with disappointed and disgust. The knight captain would've approach the boys for some beating until he saw Tsunade glaring at him while sipping wine, a look that says "Go ahead, come closer, I dare you", memory of her just destroying a monster with a single punch is still fresh in his mind, so instead he excuse himself from the party.
After this funny little exchange Kushina glances at the Spear Hero's party and saw Malty whispering something into his ear and whatever it is it makes him angry, she take guess and warns Tsunade but in a subtle way. "I wonder what's that princess is saying to him."
Tsunade turns to Motoyasu and sure enough he's rapidly approaching them and removing his glove, he then throws it at Naruto's feet which he didn't notice, before he can say anything Sasuke rebukes him. "Hey, doofus, no littering allowed, trash can is that way."
The rest of the genins look at him as he sputters angrily. "What, no, NO, this not a garbage I'm challenging him." Few of the nobles look at them with interest. "Naruto, duel me!"
The whole chamber went silent, conversations silenced, musicians ceased playing their instruments, all eyes or on the two. Motoyasu tries to look big and imposing and intimidating but Naruto looks at him unimpressed, he and his team had faced the infamous Zabuza and his reliable and formidable companion Haku so Motoyasu's threatening looks is nothing; he waits an entire minute that felt like an eternity to the audience chewing his food then gulping it down, he utters one single word. "Why?"
"Why? It's because I heard that Raphtalia is your slave!"
Some of the nobles gasp in shock, though they're only doing this since they very well know that slavery is legal, heck they even own a few dozens of their own.
"Well I'm not surprise that you're angry about the slavery thing, but Raphtalia's not a slave."
"Don't you lie to me; Myne told me everything I need to know!"
Raphtalia steps up to defend her friend and Hero. "What Naruto said is true, but not only that he also save me from slavery."
"Damn you, Naruto, you're using the Slave Seal to force her to say such things and defend you? How low are you willing to go, we Heroes are supposed to set a good example for others, it's morally wrong to enslave others."
Sakura whispers to Sasuke in disbelief. "Is this guy for real?"
"I feel like I'm losing brain cells just listening to him." Sasuke replied.
Motoyasu got in an offensive stance and point his spear at him. "Fight me, if I win you will free Raphtalia."
"And what will I get if I win?"
"That will not happen," Motoyasu condescendingly and arrogantly said, so sure that he will win. "And in case it did then you can keep things as they are."
"That is one of the most illogical things I ever heard," Their attention turns to the usually quiet and stoic Aburame boy. "You had offered no incentives for Naruto to accept your duel; all the while completely disregarding what he and Raphtalia had said about her status."
"Yeah, what Shino said, I would love to accept and kick your butt, but I'm not dumb enough to accept if I get nothing for winning, you could the very least make it a duel with no prizes."
Kiba laughs and teasingly points at Naruto. "Ha, you admitted that you're dumb."
"Hey!" Naruto grabs a spoon and scoops a large chunk of chocolate cake, intending to smear it all over Kiba, the Inuzuka just speed walks away from Naruto laughing, the two circling the table ignoring Motoyasu who is seething at being denied.
Itsuki and Ren also heard them but keep their distance, observing for the moment.
"He has a slave in party?" Itsuki couldn't believe what he's hearing and felt like berating Naruto.
"There's a contradiction, Motoyasu claimed that she's a slave, but Naruto and the 'Enslaved' girl insist that he's wrong." Ren finds it high unlikely that Naruto would involve himself with slavery, though he finds it odd that Kushina is quite during this heated argument.
Motoyasu looks at Kushina hoping that she would agree with him but she just gave him a dismissive glance as she said to the genins. "I think it's time for us to retire for tonight, see you all in morning."
Sasuke went to stop the little tag. "Alright you two, you heard Miss Kushina, time to go."
Naruto and Kiba stop their chase and run and begin to join the others in leaving, but before they could get any further they are block by knights making the shinobi prepare if they're going to fight their way out.
The king then decides to address them about the issue. "I overheard your conversation and I am quite appalled, you a Hero using a demi-human as a slave to fight for you. You are truly rotten to the bone, you violated our customs, and for that I order you to accept this challenge."
"Wait, we don't have to do this," Raphtalia shouts gaining their attention. "I'm not a slave, and I fight alongside Naruto –"
Raphtalia is interrupted by a knight grabbing her from behind and covering her mouth, before the genins could say anything or react a green clad man came zooming in and hitting the knight on the face sending him flying and crashing on a table full of food.
"Now is that any way a respectful treatment of a young woman?" Might Guy scold the unconscious knight.
"You!" Motoyasu points at him shock.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Myne is worried that he might spill the beans in who really defeated the Wave Boss.
Though they ignore the princess as the knights' point their weapon and the shinobis do the same, on the king's orders they are ready to apprehend the shinobi although they're quite nervous as over half of these men saw Tsunade in combat, the thought of fighting this woman who was able to kill dozens of monsters with just her bare hands and show an impressive feat of strength scares them.
"Now why should he do as you say?" Kushina asks the king.
The whole room looks at the king for his response, which he replies. "It should be obvious, as a Cardinal Hero, he has an obligation to-"
"Pardon me to interrupt, but the true ruler of this nation Queen Mirellia have issued a decree that the Shield Hero and his party are free to ignore any of your commands and summons, are you going against you wife's wishes?"
Aultcray is standing there taking note of all the stares at him, if he ignores the decree and keeps on pestering the Shield Hero it'll be seen as insubordination at best to outright treasonous at worst, and the consequences once her wife returns will be even more severe. He tried to at least explain why the Shield Hero must duel. "It is for the Shield Hero's best interest to accept, because if he decline he'll be seen as a coward, someone who's refusing to partake in an honorable duel."
He just dodged the question, either way she can make this all look bad for them, bringing up Shino's point. "Why should he? He has nothing to gain, and who's really the coward, the twelve year boy with nothing but a shield, or a young man armed with a spear challenging a twelve year boy with nothing but a shield?"
"If there's something in it for me or no prizes at all I'll accept, take it or leave it." Naruto said.
"If you try to make us, threaten us, take us against our will," Kushina holds the grip of her sword tightly as the rest of the shinobi prepares for a fight if that's the only option. "I can assure you the end result will be very bloody."
The guests take a few steps back sensing a fight is about to happen, but the Spear Hero is quick to try to defuse the situation not wanting to see Kushina and Hinata get hurt. "Wait, we don't have to do this," Thinking of a way to not escalate the situation he decides to bet his reward money. "I'll give him my reward if he wins the duel."
"DEAL!" Naruto shouts as he cracks his knuckles. "Should I beat you here now or is there an arena or something?"
Aultcray is a bit surprise that the Shield Hero is very eager to fight the Spear Hero; nonetheless he inwardly smirks as this is progressing the plan further, with a booming voice he declares. "The Sacred Duel will take in the royal arena; the knights will lead you all there."
Many of the people leave the banquet excited for the fight, Ren is looking at Kushina with questions in mind, why is she letting this all happen, he have an impression that she and her friends are hiding something.
The Arena
The guests all take their seat up on the balcony overlooking the open area where the two Heroes are facing off against each other, a robed mage is holding a crystal ball that is recording this event and being broadcasted outside the castle, the announcers is ready to speak until Kushina approaches him and whispers something to his ear, he is hesitant to do as she says until she mentions the hooded figure behind her, learning of who she is affiliated with he have no choice.
"The duel between the Spear Hero and the Shield Hero will now begin! This duel will end when one of the combatants is either pinned or admits defeat or unable to fight!" The announcer took a deep breath as he is about to say things that will likely upset the king and princess. "As per Lady Kushina's requests the referee for this duel will be the Queen's Shadow, and the other is that when the Spear cheats or anyone interfere the fight on his behalf then the Shield hero is free to leave and a companion of his will take his place."
"Hm, that's a strange request." Biscas remarked.
Malty is worried about this, mostly about the Shadow loyal to her mother. "Papa, can you do something about that Shadow?"
"I can't," Aultcray frowns. "Not without having everyone seeing us being defiant against the Queen's agent." As much as he hates to admit it, the Queen's Shadows have much authority than him if Mirellia allows it.
"Wait a minute, what about Naruto?" Motoyasu asked the announcer.
"If the Shield Hero cheats or someone cheats on his behalf then he will simply be disqualified."
Naruto pipes up. "And besides, that'll only happen if you cheat, what, you're planning to cheat or something, cheater?" Naruto smirks as he points at him accusingly.
Motoyasu is very annoyed that this kid is implying that he's willing to go that low in a fight; oh he's going to enjoy beating this brat into submission. "Can we just start, please?"
The Shadow takes over as the new announcer. "As you wish, this duel will take place in the presence of the King Melromarc and the Pope, and it is thus legitimate and official."
Malty went down to the edge of the arena to wish him well and cheer him on. "Do your best and good luck, Sir Motoyasu!"
Motoyasu waves and smiles at her then turns to Naruto, ready for the Referee to say go, staring at the boy he smiles confidently. "Hey Naruto, do you know the folk tale about the irresistible spear and the immovable shield?"
Naruto answers happily like know-it-all school boy. "Oh I know this one, the spear loses the fight because he passed out from exhaustion trying to pierce the shield all day and night, and it was really funny, the spear blabbering about being strong only to be humiliated in the end. Not sure why you're asking me this though."
Motoyasu did not expect that answer and is now determine to prove him wrong. Up on the balcony Kushina pats Shino on the shoulder a signal to begin their plan, Shino went to the other genins and say. "It's time for us to 'wonder' around."
"Now, ready... and begin!"
With a war cry Motoyasu immediately rushes forward striking Naruto who merely blocks with his shield, not letting up he begin his relentless attack, but all of them are block each time. "As expected of a Shield Hero, but I'm just getting warm up."
"Yadda yadda yadda, are you just gonna talk to me, bore me to sleep or what?" Naruto covers his mouth and let out a fake yawn.
"This will wake you up!" Motoyasu thrusts his spear forward. "Chaos Spear!" The Legendary Spear has shine and splits into multiple spear heads and then dart towards Naruto.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto immediately summons five Clones who waste no time running in front of him and getting in formation, displaying their shields they all shout "Naruto Uzumaki Shield Wall!" It is effective in blocking all of those shining spear heads, once the onslaught is over the Clones dispel, but Naruto is not done yet he performs three hand seals and yells "Wind Style: Immense Breakthrough!" a strong gust of wind expels from his mouth and before Motoyasu could react he is hit blowing him away.
The Spear Hero stands up and recomposes himself not expecting Naruto to withstand his attack but also fires a wind spell at him. "I'll admit, I'm surprise that you have a few tricks up your sleeves, but it's not enough!" he charges at Naruto again with the intent to impale him, he did saw that the Legendary Shield change form into a round one with dark grey fur. When the attack collides he press forward to try and spear him again until something just bit his arm, a giant ethereal wolf is dragging him away.

"Get off me you damn mutt!" Motoyasu grabs his spear with his left hand then stabs the wolf on its side making it yelp and disappear. "Just what are trying to pull?"
"Uh, I'm using a skill from the Shield, duh." Naruto stated the obvious, then he summon a replacement, the Skill stated that he can summon more the higher his level is, at his current level he can only summon three.
"Is this even allowed?" The Spear Hero turns to the referee hoping that she could somehow ban Naruto from using it.
The hooded Shadow nods. "Yes, Sir Motoyasu, Summoning Spells are perfectly legal in a duel especially the ones granted by the Legendary Weapons."
"Damn," He points his spear at Naruto with annoyance on his face. "Hey, this is supposed to be a one on one, you gotta fight fair!" He charges again engaging and finishing off a spirit wolf. He rushes towards Naruto again being very aggressive this time ensuring that no more spirit wolves can be summoned, engaging in melee combat.
Naruto has been mostly passive during this fight with some offensive moves, his overall strategy is to tire him out and then deliver powerful strikes to wear him down, the thought of utilizing the Fox's Chakra crosses his mind but he quickly dismisses it, it's overkill, should be used as a last resort, and Motoyasu is no Haku. One idea did come up which he enacts now, he let one of the strike 'slip' through and pierces him through his chest.
"HA, got you!" Motoyasu said with triumph.
"Not quite."Naruto suddenly poofs revealing to be a log that was got impaled.
"W-What?" Motoyasu surprise and tries remove the log; he is suddenly kicked in the face sending him skidding along the floor and hears "Shield Prison!" He suddenly finds himself trap inside some sort of cage made up of shields. He realizes that he is not alone in here as he is now face to face with three spirit wolves, he screams as they began biting him. "Hey! Stop that! That hurts! Knock it off!"
"Nope, you have to get out of there on your own." Naruto laughs at his opponent's predicament.
Up on the audience balcony the onlookers are quite surprise at duel's progression, they were expecting the Spear Hero to win.
"I can't believe it."
"I never thought the boy can stand up on his own against an older opponent."
"And yet here he is winning this fight."
"Guess we underestimated him then."
"Is he stronger because of the training his mother given him?"
"Looks like Motoyasu's wrong about Naruto." Ren remarked.
"Yeah, though I wonder what kind of spell that allows him to make several copies of himself." Itsuki is planning to ask Naruto or Kushina about, hoping that they would share this secret with them.
Some of the more radical supporters of the three Heroes Church have a less pleasant thing to say to him.
"Just what that scoundrel is doing to the Spear Hero?"
"Shameful display, that boy have no respect for the sacred duel."
"That referee should have disqualified him the moment he summoned those wolves."
Although the negative comments are few Kushina is somewhat irritated by the audacity of some people, so she'll beat them with a louder voice, cheering on her son. "HECK YEAH, THAT'S MY BOY, DON'T LET UP NARUTO, NO MERCY, KEEP FIGHTING UNTIL YOU WIN!"
"Let me out of here!" Motoyasu shouts from the inside of the prison.
"What's the magic word?"
"Please, please damn it!"
Naruto releases the trapped Hero from the prison, the three spirit wolves retreat to his side, giving his opponent a toothy grin. "Are you ready to give up now?"
"I'm not done yet!" He said defiantly, until the growl of the wolves kept him in place.
Naruto just shrugs. "Well, don't be angry when I decide to break your pretty face. Come on boys, let's get him!" He and his three summons began their attack charging at the young man give him a beat down of a life time. But powerful burst of wind hit the three dispelling the wolves and sending Naruto flying.
Even though the attack is almost transparent and hard to spot, many of the onlookers already guess who the offender is, Malty stands at the edge of the arena smirking at what she just did, this was part of the plan that if the Shield Hero somehow is winning she'll interfere, hopefully the wind spell will be enough to help Sir Motoyasu and at the same time not noticeable to the referee. But little did she know that she unintentionally make the situation worse for her chosen champion.
Instead of landing on the cold hard floor Naruto felt that someone have catch him, he looks up and saw who it was. "Aunty Tsunade?"
The audience was surprise about his relations with this woman.
"That woman is his aunt?"
"Just how many family members does he have here?"
"An outside interference in favor of the Spear Hero has occurred, as per request instead of being disqualified the Spear Hero will instead be facing a different opponent!" The referee declared. The princess is glaring at this Shadow for not ignoring blatant cheating.
Tsunade let Naruto down. "Alright, run along now Naru, I'll be taking care of this."
"I uh – Okay." Before he goes he grabs a potion from his packet. "Hey, Aunty, is it okay if I give him something?" His aunt just nods, then he proceed to throw it at Motoyasu who catches it easily. "Hey, this is for you!"
"Average Health Potion," Motoyasu thought it was poison but the Status Magic confirms that it is genuine. "What are you playing at?"
"Because you're going to need it," Many can't believe that the Shield Hero is giving Sir Motoyasu an advantage; it might not be enough but still an advantage. Naruto's tone suddenly becomes serious. "Believe me, you REALLY going to need that." He runs from the arena and makes his way to his mother's side. Naruto's words have a foreboding feeling and it did not sit well with some of the onlookers.
Motoyasu looks at the potion and then pockets it, he suddenly hit with a wave of malicious aura gazing upon his new opponent he sees a darkened woman getting bigger and bigger turning into a gargantuan titan towering over him making him feel like an insignificant ant, his hands are shaking, knees weak, cold sweat flowing, every fiber of his being is screaming at him to run. He shuts his eyes and tries to shake off this feeling of dread, opening them he looks back at the woman who just stands there casually with a hand on her hip. Not wanting to fight such a beautiful woman he begs her to surrender. "Hey listen, I really don't want to hurt you, this is between me and Naruto, a girl's freedom is at stake, so please back down."
This only got an opposite effect as his words only annoy the woman. "You don't want to hurt me and yet you dare challenged Naruto into a duel, no I don't think so, the only way this duel will end is either you losing or by some miracle you defeating me, but you can back out now to save you the pain I'm about to dish out on to you."
"Damn you Naruto," He whispered but Tsunade hears this. Drinking a small dose of the potion to refresh his health he says. "I really hate to do this but you leave me no choice."
Tsunade just scoffs. "Go ahead; entertain me with your attempts."
The referee then declares. "Now then, get ready… Begin!"
Motoyasu charges at her with his spear ready to impale her, but with a quick motion she just side steps completely avoiding the spear. He makes a few jabs at her, but she just dodges them with barely any effort. When he tries to lunges at her with a power thrust she just side steps again and this time grabbing his shoulder, pulling and then pushing him, using his momentum against him resulting in almost stumbling onto the floor.
He goes in for another charge, but she just moves her torso sideways avoiding the spear, then something just hit him on the face making him stagger back. Shaking his head he looks at her with surprise and confusion, he did not see her attack at all.
With a war cry Motoyasu charges again at Tsunade, but when he got close and without warning her fist connects with his face making him fall on the floor; quickly rising up he charges again and this time her foot collides with his breastplate and again falling on the floor. He made a third attempt with more vigor, but she catches his spear, pulls him close and place her hand on his forehead, Motoyasu feels like someone just smack his forehead sending flying a few paces away.
"By God I didn't even see her kick or punch him."
"She just sends him flying with a flick of a finger."
"Just who is this woman?"
Realizing that she's good at close quarters fighting Motoyasu goes for a long ranged approach, his Spear glows and emitting small electrical discharges "Lightning Spear!" A beam of electrical energy is cast towards the woman, but she just steps to the side avoiding the attack entirely.
"You got to do better than that to actually hurt me." She starts to walk towards him, it is a casual walk but Motoyasu is starting to get intimidated by this.
"I'm not done yet, Airstrike Javelin!" A bright shining javelin appears and darts it way towards Tsunade, who merely dodge with no effort. "There is still more! Second Javelin!" As the name said a second spear materializes at attack her with the same result, he presses on the assault. "Third Javelin! Fourth Javelin! Fifth Javelin!" (2)
After avoiding all the javelins Tsunade asks him with a bored and unimpressed tone. "Are you done now? I want to get back at the banquet hall and try that white wine they have there."
Seeing the cool down for Chaos Spear ends he goes for this hoping to end this duel. "Chaos Spear!" Like before with Naruto the Spear splits into dozens of spears zooming at Tsunade, but she didn't move as she is engulf by the attack, a large dust cloud is form because of the impact obscuring their view on her. Motoyasu is on guard ready to engage, but seeing that she didn't come out he assumes that she's down. "It's over, I told you that you should've back down, and now you're hurt." He walks forward hoping to comfort her, and if he's lucky woo her into liking him.
But when the dust clear and settle everyone besides the shinobis are quite surprise that Tsunade is just standing there tall and completely fine, almost like the attack just went pass through her. She dusts off the dirt from her shoulder and talk with annoyance. "What did you just say? It's laughable that you think you can hurt me, you didn't even able to leave a small cut on my shirt."
"B-b-b-b but how-" Motoyasu is sure the Skill hit.
"Now, it's my turn." Tsunade came running at him.
The Spear Hero brace himself as he is now on the defensive, but before he know it her shin hits his cheek sending him skidding through the floor, with his back on the stone floor he looks up and saw Tsunade falling on him with the intent to stomp on his head. With barely any time he rolls to the left, her landing leaves cracks on the floor, she kicks him on his side sending him sliding across the floor. He cringes at the pain but he quickly ignores it as he stands up and takes up an offensive stance and then charges.
But she merely backhands the tip of the spear away and delivers a quick punch making him stagger, she continues with more blows: an open palm on the mouth, two quick jabs, a mean right hook, a punch on his left rib, then a mighty uppercut sending him making him go up in the air then fall on the ground.
No matter how many times he goes down Motoyasu will not surrender, he will see to it that Raphtalia is free, even if it means hurting this beautiful woman. He goes for another reckless attack, running with full determination and intending to end this as fast as possible.
Tsunade easily avoids the spear tip and grabs his hand tightly making him unable to move his spear. "This is getting embarrassing, it should be obvious you can't beat me, just surrender already and save yourself the humiliation."
"I-I-I can't…"
"Suit yourself," Tsunade raise her fist intending to punch the daylight out of him, she could've finish this way earlier but decided to drag this out mostly to give time for their plan and the enemy's to come to effect and also teach this idiot a tough hard lesson. Suddenly her instincts screams that an attack is coming from behind, she already have a good guess as she channels chakra to her feet rooting her in place and then tanks the attack which happens to be a wind spell, the same one used by that conniving bitch of a princess. She turns to look back and sure enough Malty is there at the very edge of the arena with her arm outstretch, surprise look on the princess's face.
"An outside interference in favor of the Spear Hero have occurred, he is now-"
"No no, I'll let this slide." Tsunade said to the referee, which surprises everyone.
"Are you certain?"
"Yes, I like my own way in punishing cheaters." She smiles wickedly as she tightens her grip on Motoyasu's wrist.
"H-Hey, you're holding it too tight, it hurts." The pressure on his hand getting bad that it almost cut off the circulation. Then the sickening crunch of breaking bones can be heard in arena, the Spear Hero screams in pain. "Aah! AAAH! AAAAARRGH!"
He starting to grovel to Tsunade hoping to let go his hand, but she is only getting started in putting him through a world of hurt. She put her hand on the top part of the armor and with one swift motion rips it off from him exposing his chainmail underneath, punch his chest three times: one on the left breast, one on the right breast , and one on his upper abdomen; these are strong hits that cause some serious internal damage. She lets go of his hand then raise her right leg to kick him in his guts and then her left leg rise to do a side kick on his right ribs. She punches him on the face making him fly and land on his back.
The audience is in a complete shock, their precious champion a Legendary Hero is being beaten ruthlessly by a mere woman, beaten with just her bare hands no less.
Rino who don't want to see her Hero hurt says. "Please stay down, Sir Motoyasu, she's too strong."
Lesty on the other hand wants Motoyasu to beat this woman. "Don't give up, you can do this!"
"It's no use, no matter how hard he tried she always able to avoid his best skills all the while inflict considerable damage to him." Elena would cheer Motoyasu on, but she's no fool and sees that this Tsunade is far more powerful then she lets on.
Shakily standing up and in a desperate attempt Motoyasu tries to use one of his available skills to win or the very least stalls this woman. "Lightning Spear!" His attack is unfortunately predictable and she dodges it easily.
Tsunade close the distance and sends a barrage of punches, breaking his nose, giving him a black eye and causing a concussion. She grabs the collar of his chainmail and lifts him up, and like a child who don't like her toy she throws him up in the air. High up in the air Motoyasu saw that Tsunade above him with her foot up, coming down into an axe kick to his chest and he came crashing down onto the floor. The landing is hard breaking the tiles and forming a crater around the Spear Hero.
The granddaughter of Hashirama Senju lands next to the young man and starts to berate him. "Even with a Legendary Weapon and all the benefits this kingdom granted you are still weak, a civilian with little combat experience, a child thinking that this is all a game, you're too reliant on its abilities, you're doomed the moment you face a highly competent fighter. It's best that you give now."
"I can't – I have to free – Raphtalia." His response is getting punch in the face knocking out a few teeth.
"Raphtalia is not a slave! Get it through your thick skull! How many times do we have to repeat this?"
"Myne never lies to me…"
"Women lie too, stupid; maybe my fist will knock some sense into you." She readies her fist and is about to punch him until she is hit again with a wind spell, at this she is already annoyed.
"Should I reprimand her or let it slide?" The Shadow asked.
"No need, I'll take care of her myself." She stood up with a small piece of the floor and throws the projectile with high velocity. The force is great that the projectile shatters on impact with Malty's breastplate and sends her flying crashing on the wall and knocking her out conscious.
"MALTY! I want healers helping her NOW!" The king cried.
With a very annoyed look on her face Tsunade looks up to the audience, glancing at each person daring them to come at her. "Anyone else want to have a go with me? I can assure you that you'll leave the arena with a broken arm!"
She glares at the knights who all take a step back. Those who saw her fight during the Waves wisely stay put and the others who just witness her dominating the Spear Hero freeze in fear.
Satisfied that they're staying put she returns her attention to the downed Hero, grabbing his collar and then start punching, punching and punching until into continues into a pummelling. Bashing his face until its bloody, more teeth flying out, and at this point he is already passed out from the pain and beating his hand dropping the spear, there is no way he's going to win this now not with Tsunade striking his head into bloody red goo. She is about to give the final hard blow until someone grabs hold of her arm, Tsunade turns and about to tell off the interloper until to her and everyone else's surprise that it happens to be Naruto.
"Auntie, wait, you're going a little too overboard!"
"Naruto, why are you here? I'm about to finish this idiot off."
"I know, Auntie, I really don't like him but he's important in battling against the Waves, the Shield just warned me that if one Legendary Hero dies then the Waves will get stronger and appear more often!"
Calming herself down she looks at her unconscious opponent and to her hand that is drenched with his blood. "You know what, you're right, I did go too hard on him," She turns to the Shadow referee. "I believe this is my win, the Spear Hero can't fight anymore."
"Hold on for the moment," Aulctray boomed. "The Shield Hero had interfered in the sacred duel; therefore victory shall go to Sir Motoyasu."
Too bad for him the Shadow didn't see it that way. "Pardon, King Aulctray, but Naruto Uzumaki stepped in to stop his aunt Tsunade from further attacking Motoyasu, by technicality the Shield Hero interfered in favour of the Spear Hero. And add to the previous mischiefs by the Princess, the Spear Hero cheated four times."
Aultcray glares at the Shadow with annoyance as she basically makes him and his daughter and the Spear Hero look bad.
The Shadow continues with the verdict. "The Spear Hero is no longer able to continue on with the duel, the Shield Hero and Lady Tsunade wins."
The shinobis cheer with Kushina being the loudest, the many of the guests who now have neutral views on Naruto clap, though the nobles who are supporters of the church of the three heroes or simply hate the Shield Hero either remain silent or booed the pair.
As the aunt and nephew duo leave the Healers enter and rush to the defeated Hero, assessing the all the injuries and began healing him, one even went through the trouble of collecting all the teeth and reattached them to Motoyasu's gums. With great doubt one uses the Shield Hero's health potion and it took effect fast, healing most of the damage
Malty who wakes up and is healed of any minor injuries ran to her champion's side with a convincing concern. The king is also there asking his wellbeing. "Is Sir Motoyasu going to be alright?"
"His condition is fine now, your Highness, it's a miracle that he's not dead." The healer reported. "Before he's healed he suffered severe internal bleeding, damaged organs, severe concussion, multiple broken bones, his right hand was crushed, thanks to our effort we have healed most of the grievous injuries but he will need bed rest, he'll be awake by tomorrow but he'll need at least a week to fully recover." He would have said that Naruto's health potion also helps but he doesn't want to anger the king.
"Damn that woman! Surely you can do something her. Right, Papa?"
The king shakes his head. "Unfortunately we can do only very little about her, the casualties in trying to subdue her will surely be high." He thought he know everything about this Tsunade, he will soon learn more about her and more about the other Shinobi Clans in an unpleasant manner. "At the very least, our operation regarding his other companions is a success."
"That's good," Malty smiles wickedly, she want those brats to suffer as revenge for Motoyasu's humiliation and injuries. "I want those friends of his lock up and immediately ship to Siltvelt."
With the other Genins
At some alleyway a caged wagon with many guards is waiting, Shadows and knights have just captured all the Shield Hero's companions, the young ones anyway as they doubt they could capture all of them its best they start with the young. They snatched them during the duel when most of the people are too focus on the fight, threatened with daggers and whispered that they remain silent they tie them up with ropes and then brought all these children to this deserted area.
"Alright you kids, hop on the wagon we have a long journey ahead of us." One of the Shadows ordered.
Hinata, Sakura, Sasuke, Kiba, and Shino all comply and get up on the wagon one by one. They are all strangely calm throughout the whole thing.
"That was easier than I thought." A knight said.
"Ha, as expected, they're still kids, they have to do what the grownups tell them." Another knight said.
"By the time the Shield Devil and his mother realize what happen they'll be long gone."
"Once they've been enslave in Siltvelt we begin snatching away the rest of the Devil's companions."
One of the Shadows took note that something is off and confide with his colleagues. "Something is not right."
"Thing is going according to plan, what make you say that?"
Staring at one of the kids, he sees that Sasuke is staring at him with red eyes, it's really off-putting but he goes on. "I take part in this kind of operation before and seen many children all demi humans, all of them either cry or scream. These children are too quiet and cooperative, too willing come along with us, almost as if they knew what we're doing and set a trap."
"Trap, you're kidding right?" The other Shadow said in disbelief. "They're gagged and their hands and feet or tied, what can they do?"
All the candles and torches in the area suddenly go out. The operatives panic for a few seconds but quickly calm down. "Can we get a light over here?"
"Must've been the wind"
"How is that possible, we didn't even feel a bree-"
Sounds of clashing steel can be heard, as well as stabbing and slashing and gasp and choking. The Shadow lights the area up with a minor fire spell, what he and his colleague saw shock them, all the knights and their fellow Shadows are laying on the ground dead or unconscious, all their captives are gone, but more alerting is the presence of new multiple people they recognize few of them as companions to the Shield Hero.
Hizashi with his Byakugan active and his open palm ready to strike he offers them a term. "Surrender to us or we will take you in by force."
When the remaining Shadows hesitate the shinobis all strike.

AN: Happy New Year to you all. I would've posted this sooner but I was busy lately but I'm happy that I finish this. I also forgot to add a vote for last chapter: who will Motoyasu fight Naruto or Tsunade, I opted for both, hope it's enjoyable. Sorry if the ending feels a bit rushed.

Motoyasu duels: Naruko Uzumaki-Namikaze
The Sacred Duel between two Heroes is about to begin, originally Motoyasu had challenged Minato to a duel in order to free the three demi humans from his control: Raphtalia, Rifana, and Keel, and also free Naruko from his clutches. He is ready to fight that man until to his and everyone's surprise that it's going to be Naruko who will be his opponent.
Not having the will to fight such a cute girl, he begs her. "This is so wrong, Naruko, you're not supposed to be here, I challenged Minato. Why are you doing this?"
Naruko just smirks as she explains it simply. "Because it's fair, the Sacred Duel is mostly about the Heroes, plus, if you did try to fight Daddy – You'll be dead within three seconds."
"Good luck, Sir Motoyasu!" Myne cheers.
"The duel between the Spear Hero and the Shield Heroine will now commence," The referee declared. "Ready – GO!"
Not wanting to harm this girl his go to tactic is to subdue her, so he is going to use a skill he gained from the Great Cavern Spider called Arachne's Sting which have the capabilities of paralyzing the opponent. He charges at her at thrust his spear, his intended target is her arms or legs hoping to at least make a minor cut.
Thanks to the ANBU operatives sent out by the Fourth Hokage Naruko is clearly aware of all of his skills and spells, recognizing the one that could make her limp as a bone fish, easily dodges the attack. She goes on a defensive using her Shield or dodging all of his attacks, despite looking like she's laidback and playing around she's actually serious as she knows that underestimating him can cost her this duel.
"Come on, Motoyasu, how hard it is to beat a twelve year old girl!" Malty screamed, not believing that Motoyasu is having trouble in landing a blow on that brat.
Some of the nobles and guests also couldn't believe what they saw.
"How is this happening, this should be easy for the Spear Hero."
"We should not be surprise, her father is strong, more likely he trains her to be formidable."
"He's right, we all saw the recording, that man the Yellow Flash had single-handedly slaughtered a thousand monsters of the Waves of various sizes."
"If that is the case then the Spear Hero is doomed to fail."
Minato and many of his shinobis smirks and smiles at this, his power have really leaved a big impression on these people. He motions to Kakashi and Genma to move, their mission will be to ensure that the duel is fair, no interference and no cheating.
And sure enough the disgraced princess is up to do some mischief, she is ready to fire a wind spell until someone approaches her from behind. "Now what are you doing there?"
"Wha-" Malty turns around only to be met with a fist to her guts, knocking her unconscious.
Kakashi quickly and quietly take the limp princess away from view and hide her in behind a pillar.
Back with the duel, Motoyasu is winded trying to land a hit on the quick and nimble girl. "Okay, I'll admit, you're slippery than I thought."
"You haven't seen anything yet." Naruko decides to play her tricks, she used this one once on a guy named Ebisu. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" She makes multiple copies of herself.
Motoyasu get into a defensive stance ready for the on, the audience is anticipating a gang beat down.
Though they're not going to expect what will happen next. "I hope you enjoy show, Desert Dancer Harem Jutsu!" The clones burst into a puff of smoke concealing their presence, they all wonder what going to happen until the smoke clear. Scantily clad musicians began playing lyre, lute, harp, and flute. Exotic Dancers with varying appearance in very revealing clothing sway and gyrate their way towards the Spear Hero, circling around and flirting with him.
"Like what you see?" Teased a blue haired dancer, her gold eyes twinkling, Motoyasu is looking down and saw she's wearing just a loincloth and a pair of pasties.
"No, he's mine!" A girl with green hair and eyes whined. Her outfit is reminiscent of a certain green alien from certain sci-fi film.
"I want to rub his shoulders." The girl behind him is dressed in somewhat more conservative yet still lovely attire.
Minato turns to his sensei Jiraiya with a suspicious look, upon noticing this he quickly defends himself. "Hey, don't at me, I didn't teach her that, that look like a new version of her Harem Jutsu, and those outfits look very similar to the girls in the comic book that Kiba gave her. And besides she's really taking advantage of the guy's weakness for women."
This little entertainment goes on for a minute, Motoyasu is enjoying the view completely dropping his guard and almost dropping his weapon, drooling at the sight and a drop of blood is trickling from his left nostril. But before he knows it the dancers all grab hold of his arms tight, the rest make way for the real Naruko who now have a fully formed Rasengan on her hand ready to go.
Before Motoyasu could move or say anything he was hit on his chest, all the Shadow Clones disperse and the Spear Hero flies away and came crashing to a wall knocking him out unconscious.
Seeing that he's not getting up the referee declares the winner. "The Spear Hero is unable to fight; the winner is the Shield Heroine!"
Many of the guests despite having a dislike for the just the title of Shield Hero clap for her, the shinobis cheer the loudest. Some also can't believe that a pretty face and a voluptuous body is enough to stop the Mighty Spear Hero on his track, the king is livid but compose himself then stands from his throne and walks away not wanting to congratulate the Shield Devil who in his mind is now the Shield Succubus or Temptress.
Omake ends
