Alright, here's the next chapter people.
Hove Beach
Walking down the street in the early morning, Niko was seen making his way towards Roman's cab depot. Having decided to get up early and go for a bit of a walk, the Bellic had gone around the neighborhood.
"Hopefully, this day can be normal unlike yesterday."
Having gone around Hove beach, his cousin wasn't lying that mostly immigrants lived there. That of the Eastern European region that is. From some of the Balkans to even a few from Ukraine and Poland, but the majority were from Russia.
It didn't take long for him to know this area happened to be territory of the Bratva, the Russian Mob, with pretty much every corner from Mohawk Ave to the beach had foot soldiers of Russians hanging around, with some even keeping an eye on things.
He just hopes not to run into one Russian mobster, one particular guy he used to work for.
"Hey."
Niko then happened to walk by someone who greeted him, was a young man whose eyes looked like they haven't been resting for days, and the clothing were giving away that he must be a homeless guy.
"How you doing?"
The homeless-looking man asked it in such a friendly manner, that it caused Niko to answer in a polite way back.
"Good." Niko replied and thanked. "Thank you very much."
"Good!" The guy then suddenly out of nowhere, puts his right fist over his chest. "Yes comrade, I am doing good. There is no "I", there is only "we" - it is a glorious system, comrade."
Doing the pose and saying it in that accent, Niko could already assume this man thought he was Russian.
"Excuse me?"
"You're excused, comrade. You're excused," the guy waved off about to leave and joking. "now go and mine salt for fifty years…"
Niko told him. "You're a dick."
"I'm a rich dick, friend. I'm young, rich and loaded."
Then, the guy happened to be pulling out what looks like a note of money.
"Tell you what, have a hundred bucks. On Uncle Sam. Benjamin motherfucking Franklin."
Giving it to Niko, the guy walked off with the last saying.
"Freedom! This coke is okay."
Watching him just walk off, Niko could only shake his head at what just happened with delight. As this random homeless guy just handed him over one hundred dollars for no reason whatsoever.
"This country is strange. Maybe that's why you like it here, cousin."
It just then happened to be that Niko was just a few feet away from the depot's entrance, when he then heard angry yelling back and forth, with one in a different language.
Albanian to be precise.
Running for the depot, Niko went on to save his cousin from another round of these loan sharks, just when another car happened to come by.
Express Car Service
Inside the cab depot's office, Roman had the unpleasant experience of being visited by the two Albanian loan sharks, Bledar and Dardan with the additional support of another Albanian named Kalem.
At this point, Roman was surrounded by the three crooks, with Bledar standing next to the sitting Serb, Kalem seen blocking the entrance at the second door, while Dardan was standing right across Roman's desk with himself leaning with his only arm against the barely functioning soda machine.
Roman, who knew he was going to get confronted soon by these guys, tried one last time to be reasonable with the unreasonable.
"Come on, Dardan. What's your problem?"
"I don't have problem." Dardan said, turning to Roman. "You do."
"URGH!" Bledar then threw the computer of Roman off the desk, smashing it up in one swoop.
"Don't be a dick, man, come o-" Roman's words died when he got headlocked from behind by Bledar.
Then out of nowhere, Dardan pulled out a small blade leaning over to get closer to Roman's throat.
"Where's your Russian friend now, eh?"
"He's not my friend." Roman struggled. "He's my loan shark."
It just happens then when it was Niko who entered the room, and his tone already was that of his trait.
"Stop this!"
"Huh? Who are you?" Dardan turned around to face Niko. "Kalem!"
*Click!*
That sound pretty much got everyone to pay attention, as it came from the second entrance - where Kalem stood with his arms raised up.
"Move forward."
Walking into the room, Naruto had the Albanian hood under gunpoint, with his gun pointed at the back of the head, he gained the full attention of everyone in the room.
"Dardan. How awful it is to see you." Naruto said morbidly as Dardan twitched in fear.
Niko took advantage to grab the arm Dardan held his knife before twisting it, breaking Dardan's good arm getting him to squeal, collapsing to the ground in a heap.
"Bledar! Help me!" Dardan screamed.
"What about you?" Niko said, turning to Bledar. "Come on, šupak!"
Bledar read the writing on the wall before releasing Roman to leap over the counter to get Dardan out of here. Kalem wisely bolted after them.
"Get out of here now! And if you come back, I'll kill you! You understand?" Niko roared at them as they fled.
"You forgot this," Roman yelled at them holding Dardan's switchblade. "you Albanian pricks!"
Niko punched the side of Roman's vending machine, once Roman threw the knife away, he turned to his cousin.
"Shit! Niko, what did you do?" Roman said, concerned.
"He was going to stab me!" Niko remarked.
"And they were going to harm you." Naruto said putting his gun away and taking the knife. "I'll take that."
"But now he's going to kill you and Naruto." Roman said worriedly.
"Fuck him." Niko/Naruto both said it at the same time, not even taking notice of the timing.
It did not surprise Roman that both of them said them as a response.
"Look at this mess. Screwed! Again. You want to know why I'm not living in a nice condo, banging four women? It's because of shit like this. Assholes threatening me." Roman said slumping in his office chair.
"To be fair, your gambling debts are not doing you any favors." Naruto said, even bringing up other habits. "And your drinking…and your carousi-"
"Oh shut up." Roman sarcastically said as the phone rang. "Hold on."
Roman answered hearing it was Mallorie and he was trying to lay a vibe that everything was all right even if he was a bit down.
"Hey, beautiful! Huh? Yeah... great. Uh... listen, I'm having a bit of a problem at the office... Umm, I can't do it - Niko can do it…"
"Do what exactly?" Niko asked.
"Well why would you want me then? Well screw you, then." Roman said before hanging up and turning to Niko. "Great girl... can you do me a favor? Mallorie needs a lift. Can you go pick her up at the Hove Beach subway station?"
"Roman's probably not wanting to see her at the moment because…"
"Enough out of you, Naruto!" Roman said, pointing at Naruto's remarks.
"Well now I have to do it." Niko said as Roman pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Take the cab. She's got a friend with her." Roman told Niko. "Maybe someone you can date!"
"Fuck you."
Niko walked off as Roman bemoaned at the destroyed computer that he tried to grab, but then he stood up and placed his hands together.
"I know it's your day off but…can you please buy me a new computer for me please?"
"Sure, I'll go check the store out." Naruto said, seeing he had nothing much else to do. He went on to get back to his own car. "Speak to you on the phone."
"Yeah, sure." Roman said, going back down on the floor. "Oh, man, look at this crap. My computer and everything."
With Niko
Having already taken one of cousin's cab cars, Niko went on to do another errand for him to cool his own head from what happened back there.
"Here it is."
Parked up right outside the Hove Beach Subway Station, he then happened to spot Mallorie standing there talking to another woman.
*HONK!*
The two women turned around, and saw the black cab waiting for them there. Where they saw Niko driving it.
"Get in, ladies."
"Hey Niko, thanks for coming." Mallorie greeted him as she went to the backseat. "I should have known Roman would find some excuse not to turn up. But no offense, he would usually send Naruto."
"None taken."
Then, the other woman, a black haired Caucasian about Mallorie's age, sat next to him at the shotgun seat, and got the attention of the immigrant just like that.
"Niko - This is Michelle."
"Hi. How are you?" Michelle politely began before then saying. "I live on Rotterdam Hill, up on Mohawk Avenue. You know where that is?"
Niko nodded and drove off from the subway station, going to the address, a small conversation decided to take off with Mallorie beginning.
"How're you finding America, Niko?"
"Not exactly what I expected." Niko responded with honesty. "I mean, it is not bad, I met you and Naruto, it's just a different place to where I have gone to."
"Oh, you traveled around the world?" Michelle asked, curious to know. "Where, if I may ask?"
"I went a bit around, but I have gone from Egypt to the Far East of the world." Niko replied, not giving much information of his reasons for going there. "It was my last job before deciding to go to America."
"Interesting." Michelle replied. "I mean, you're going to the Far East, I mean. Lots of interesting history."
Niko chuckled. "So I've heard, yes."
Then coming up Mohawk Avenue, it was then that Mallorie then got an idea popping up to her head.
"Niko, you know what? You need someone to show you a good time. Michelle, how about you?"
Michelle protested lightly. "Mallorie, stop it!"
"Come on you guys. You're both single, you're adults." Mallorie argued before telling. "Take her number, Niko."
Not taking any chances, Niko and Mallorie decided to just take the Puerto Rican woman's advice and exchange phone numbers while being on the road.
"Hey, I'd like to see you again, Niko." Michelle said. "You look like that kind of guy I want to get to know."
"You look like you just jumped off the boat, Niko." Mallorie said, clearly referring to Niko's unchanged clothes he wore on the trip. "Handsome man like you should get some new threads."
"I think he looks fine the way he is." Michelle tried.
Mallorie wasn't convinced. "I don't think he even changed out of those things on the journey. How you going to impress a class girl like Michelle?"
"I'm easily impressed." Michelle noted.
"I know you are, sweetie," Mallorie said, rolling her eyes with a dry chuckle. "and I just don't get it."
It just then happened to be that they arrived right in Rotterdam Hill, in front of Michelle's apartment.
"Thanks for the lift, Niko." Mallorie thanked as she got out of the backseat.
"Yeah, thanks." Michelle said, telling Niko. "Gimme a call sometime."
"See you soon, Michelle."
The brunette also left the car, with both ladies seen entering the building while Niko waited until they closed the door behind them.
"Strange place, not even a week, and already a girl's number." It was then that Niko began reversing the car before he then drove back to Hove Beach while reaching his phone to inform Roman.
Once he got the number, the ringing went off and then-
"Cousin, I dropped the girls off." Niko stated. "The friend gave me her number, but I don't think Mallorie likes my clothes so much."
"I know just the place for you," Roman advised him. "it's on Mohawk in Hove. Go and get something a bit more twenty-first century."
"Alright."
"Also, if you see Naruto, tell him to call me. That cab he's driving is not clocked in. his phone is off again."
"Don't know if I will see him, but sure." Niko said. "Its a big city, to be fair."
"Believe me, this city isn't big enough. Later cousin."
Once the conversation ended, Niko focused his eyes on the road, just when he heard some loud engines.
*VROOM!*
And there he saw a couple of bikes driving by, looking like a group that just swarmed around him and stopped right in front of the red traffic light that he had to halt to.
In a group of five, these guys were seen driving fast motorbikes, Japanese machinery that were ranging from Hakuchou to Bati bikes in custom paint, and the drivers themselves were seen to be mostly black. Their most noticeable feature was their black and white clothing that they wore. With one of them seen wearing a cut in the back that had two letters.
UR - which stood for the Uptown Riders. A motorcycle gang that was active in Northwood, Algonquin. Composed of mostly African-Americans, it was one of the main three biker gangs in Liberty City.
But now, this group was seen cruising around and drove right up into the Hove Beach neighborhood. Leaving the Serb by his own as it left in a pack through the main street.
Niko, at first being a bit cautious, decided to drop it and drive towards the store.
Meanwhile
Up at the other side of the city, just across the West River. Another group of bikers is seen going in a pack cruising through the streets.
Unlike the Uptown Riders who were seen driving the newest type of Japanese machinery, these guys were seen driving the pride they chose for - Classic American made Machinery.
Having arrived in Acter, a small township neighborhood down in Alderney state, these bikers happened to park in front of the building where a parking spot was reserved for them.
That building was the Lost Motorcycle Club's Acter Clubhouse.
The group consisted of roughly three guys, with all of them being fully patched members with their cuts on their jackets. The youngest was a mid-long haired Zombie chopper rider, while the oldest was the gray-haired Diabolus-loving veteran.
"I see you got your bike patched up, Jason." The oldest and wildest of the bunch said chuckling. "But your engine's sounding off, fucked too many girls on it Hehehe!"
Clay Simons, Road Captain of the Acter Lost MC chapter, a veteran from Vietnam and one of the most enthusiastic members of the club. Was messing around with Jason Michaels, a younger member of the Lost, and recently promoted Enforcer of the Club.
"Whatever, Clay. I barely got this chopper up and runnin'." Jason grunted at his bike. "Needed it fixed, but the damn thing won't comply."
"That's maybe because you're spending your time more on running with girls and snorting coke with them, Jason." The white blonde with a cigarette joked at the youngster. "If you'd spent much time on the bikes then on them, you wouldn't have this problem."
Terry Thorpe was the smoker, Sergeant-at-Arms, brother and a well known man with a hatred for the Federal Government and a staunch patriot like any other member of the Lost.
"Whatever, Terry." Jason said getting off his bike. "I'll just ask Angus for some spare parts. Fix it myself."
"Well you have to wait until he's back from the hospital." Clay said as he got off his own bike after turning the engine off. "Meanwhile you can get me a fucking drink while you're at it."
The three went inside the clubhouse as loud music could be heard.
Lost MC Clubhouse
The loud heavy metal music, the dark-colored lights and the strong smell of alcohol, sex and uncontrolled substances, clearly gives the type of environment that this clubhouse gives, the hardcore theme of rock, heavy metal and a general 'fuck the world' mentality that it attracted.
With the area entering through the front door, it was the bar where most of the bikers would socialize, drink, smoke, and even begin their fights in. But also where there was room to sit and even some to sleep their asses off when they were too drunk to drive.
But also in the bar was a caged area that took almost a quarter of the whole room, where currently nobody was in it as it was often used to host bands to play their songs, or where the ladies would do shows in their outfits that got the boys happy.
With the club now mostly empty, it was the three men who came in the club first, with Clay shouting up to the bar.
"Hello? Anybody there? We could use a fucking drink!"
Nobody stood behind the bar, but a response came.
"Hold on, I'm busy replacing a new keg, so keep your horses down!"
Jason however tapped on Terry's back. "Fuck it, I'll go back repairing the bike."
Leaving for the front door, Terry and Clay resumed to walk over to the bar.
"Almost finished….finally!"
That voice came from a woman who soon came out underneath the bar, showing her to be a pretty good-looking, and sober clean girl. Which was a rarity among other women who hang out around the clubhouse.
She had four pigtails in her sandy blonde hair, teal eyes that shouted anything but innocence and she had the rock-on body that would make any man spring for, but everyone with a clear mind knew not to go for her, as this was Temari.
Behind that bar, she wore a black skirt with underneath fishnet leggings that were specifically on her right calf and her left thigh, a pair of high heel black boots and also a blueish-gray shirt that read 'Lost MC' on the back of it.
"Temari!" Clay shouted as he planted his hands on the bar. "Two shots and your ass up here, now!"
Pulling up two small glasses and a bottle of whiskey, all the while Temari gleefully smiled at the biker as her fingerless gloves were pouring in the drinks.
"How about you giving up, Clay?" Temari chuckled as she handed over the drinks. "Because you know what my answer is."
Clay could only chuckle back as he accepted the drink. "And you know I will keep trying, girl. As usual."
Temari smiled and responded. "Sure." She turned back around and grabbed for the keg she was placing in. "So how's the family, Terry?"
"They're doing alright, my folks, I mean." Terry answered right before he took the shot of whiskey in one go and shook his head. "My brother on the other hand, he's still a mess."
"Colin? Right?" Temari asked while grabbing another glass from the sink she had washed with a clean towel.
"Yeah, him." Terry said, having poured himself another shot before downing it and he shudders. "Love him to death, but he needs to get his act together if he wants to make amends with the old man."
"Yeah, he's a brother alright, but the heroin isn't making his head straight." Clay agreed to that and added. "I mean, I like my green and cigars, but heroin's one ugly drug to be messing with."
"Be glad it ain't meth, brothers."
The voice who said that happened to be coming in with a cranking sounding wheel, as both brothers and the bartender looked down the hallway to see an wheelchair strolling down, with sitting on it being one of the best brothers the Lost had:
Angus Martin, who wore a blonde tomahawk haircut with a nose piercing , was an unfortunate brother who was doomed to the wheelchair, having lost the ability to walk, shit properly, and drive. Of which the last one was a biker's worst nightmare.
He happened to be pushed by Jim Fitzgerald who went on to ask.
"Two glasses, Temari."
"On it." Temari said, pouring out two shots of their preferred drinks and asked. "You doing alright, Angus?"
"Yeah, thanks for asking, Temari." Angus politely replied to her, being the least anti-social man of the Lost, he then asked. "How you doing? I heard you got troubles at your apartment."
"Nothing seriously, really." Temari waved her hands off with a calming gesture. "Just some moron trying to unlock doors with his bare hands. Some addict."
"You sure it wasn't Ashley?"
That question happened to be asked by another newcomer, who gained the full attention of all the members present at the bar, watching as he was walking up.
Bald with scars and tattoos, the Caucasian man wore the Lost jacket with several patches on him that he wore as medals in his days as a Lost MC brother. His name was Johnny Klebitz, the current President of the Acter chapter.
"Johnny K, wonder where you were." Jim said, then seeing the rank patch being different. "Hey, Pres, what gives going back to the VP one?"
Johnny went on to lean his arms against the bar as he sighed. He looked clearly stressed out, which wasn't new to him, but this looked different.
"Billy's getting out." Johnny told them with a sigh. "He's getting out next month."
The man the Vice President was talking about was the President of the Lost MC in Acter chapter, the main leader and the highest ranking member of the state of Alderney itself.
The news of their chapter president getting out of prison should've been good news to hear out and drink about it. Except this wasn't the case for these gentlemen.
"Fuck….he is?" Angus sounded depressed after hearing that. "You sure about this, Johnny?"
Johnny simply took a prepared shot by Temari first and then took the time to reply.
"Parole officer called in, told me he's about to finish rehab now." He looked up and raised his glass for a refill. "He's getting out in a few weeks. Parole board just cleared him."
The fact it was confirmed now only got the other brothers to groan, especially Jim who was one of the longest brothers who had been patched in, clearly seeing this was no good news.
"I can see Jason and that bitch Brian being happy about it, that's for sure."
Brian, was the secretary of the Acter chapter. An old friend of Johnny who turned ever more into a weasel who would follow Billy's orders like a dog without even a moment to think, just like some other 'brothers' in the chapter who were extremely loyal to him.
Temari, not being a member of the Lost, was no dummy when it came to keeping a few tabs on the local situation of the Lost Acter chapter and the Alderney situation as a whole.
For there were unbroken tensions that were till this day unfixed that were caused by actions of the chapter president Billy Grey himself, with some of them having dire consequences; like the sadistic nature of his leadership that was on another level, the amount of unneeded fights and acts of violence against their rivals, and the many rules he had broken. Some of which were long traditional that were universal:
Like having fucked with a brother's old lady/girlfriend, let alone the Vice-President and current leader Johnny. Having done it multiple times with the drugged out Ashley with the full knowledge of the entire MC and Johnny himself. But that itself wasn't the biggest mistake that caused Johnny to have an ongoing beef with Billy, as he had long ago been in a strained relationship with Ashley.
What caused Johnny's friendship with Billy to go to shit? The answer lies with Angus, who's now paralyzed to the waist down, all because of a traffic accident that Billy caused which resulted into Angus being hit by a truck, to which till this day, Billy has never apologized for.
That, and that incident only, caused a bit of a rift between the Alderney leadership. That for now was cooled down but not fixed. And it was no big secret that while Billy had his many supporters within the club, there were also many who questioned, even disliked his leadership.
Only Johnny was one of the few to dare say it.
"Not only that, Al Carter phoned me up about it." Johnny said to his brothers, uncaring for the presence of the bartender. "Just finished the call with him."
"Carter? From Los Santos?" Clay asked. "Why?"
Al Carter, is a personal friend and high-ranking member of the Lost MC who lives all the way back in the West Coast. With his long-established chapter near Los Santos with a clubhouse in East Vinewood that allowed them a driving distance between Los Santos and Blaine County.
"Church meeting up there in the West ended. Expressed to me on a prepaid phone that they out in the west are concerned about our brother's rehabilitation." Johnny turned around, frowning as he went on. "And they talked to me about something…"
"About what?" Angus asked. "Tell."
Johnny waited and turned his head around to Temari and looked at her for a moment.
"Get yourself busy, Club Business."
Temari didn't say anything but got the message, as she nodded and walked to the backroom and closed the door behind her, leaving the Lost MC members to themselves to speak.
"Carter got word from our brothers in Japan." Johnny began to them. "Tokyo chapter precisely. Something that rattled some thoughts."
"I keep forgetting we got brothers in other countries." Clay admitted his ignorance on the fact multiple chapters were active across the globe. "So what about our eastern brothers?"
"That's just it, Carter met up with a brother who came to visit him in LS, and told him something." Johnny spoke as he then brought up something to them to freshen up their memories. "Something that makes him go all the way over here on the road."
Terry raised the question. "Wait, Carter is coming?"
"So are two members from Japan, crossing the country now." Johnny told them. " They want to tell more details in person. Right before Billy is getting out."
"Wait, why before Billy's getting out?" Angus asked. "Why not when he comes out?"
Johnny lowered his head down for a moment, but Angus saw that there was something that wasn't mentioned just yet.
"Johnny, we're speaking about a former brother of this same chapter. Let alone he's a childhood friend of you and me." Angus raised his voice, a rarity of his as he demanded. "So tell me what the fuck has his got to do with our chapter?"
Johnny K, then decided to say it, fuck it if this would stir further shit up.
"The only thing they said was that the trail leads back here - a phone call made a year ago, back in Liberty City."
"Meaning-"
"Somebody from this city, ordered a hit on the family of a brother ours a year before Minato's death."
…
While in the back, Temari had heard everything with her ear on the door, and this got her to wonder something.
'Why are members of the Lost from Japan coming to Liberty City?'
And another thought crossed her mind.
'Has it anything to do with Naruto's father?'
"ACHOO!"
Naruto sneezed hard, catching everyone's attention inside the cab depot, as he was seen carrying the boxes of a new computer set that he just bought for Roman that he got around the block, with even one driver heard yelling.
"Bless you!"
"Yeah, thanks." Naruto replied as he entered back into the office with the screen box.
…
"Okay, I told you to get a new computer, but I didn't say an upgrade." Roman said, checking out the new screen and computer system. "Jesus, where did you get all of this?"
"Some guy I know, sold it for a good price too." Naruto smiled as he placed the box on the table above the keyboard box. "You needed an upgrade anyway-"
"Naruto, you in here?"
Naruto snapped his head around to see Fu enter the depot in much more casual wear that honestly, had Naruto aback.
She wore fitted blue jeans that showed her legs to have quite the figure, a green and black horizontal striped shirt under open zipped, sand colored flight jacket, and white tennis shoes.
It was clearly to that point it caught perhaps wanted gaze from Naruto for a moment, but the unwanted one from Roman.
Unable to contain her smile, Fu waved her hand at Naruto with a slight blush.
"Hey Naruto."
"Fu, what are you doing here?" Naruto asked as he approached her and noticed her clothing. "Not that I argue but-"
Roman's own thoughts were in a bit of a own world while looking at the light skinned girl.
'Hmm, no big titties, but she looks nice. Seriously Naruto, what's your trick?'
Roman busied himself as Fu chuckled at Naruto's lost for words.
"Say, I wanted to know if you were free for tonight." Fu asked with hand reaching the back of her head, slightly nervous. "I don't have anything else to do, what do you think?"
Naruto smiled at her and joked. "Normally it is men who would ask the nice girl out, but hey, I am okay with that. Why not?"
"Great!" Fu exclaimed in happiness while holding Naruto's arm. "Let's go! I'm buying smoothies!"
"Well, let's go then." Naruto expressed leaving with her. "Later, Roman."
"Try not to let you give you the strap on the first date." Roman advised them. "Now go, I need to go do some personal business somewhere."
Naruto stopped before snarking out, "So you're admitting you did-"
"Need to go now, shit." Roman said as he ran off, both in a hurry and not in the mood to hear another joke from Naruto.
They both couldn't help but giggle as they then also left the office, leaving the depot to the few drivers that were in there.
Once outside, Naruto followed Fu to an pink and white Voodoo lowrider, that happened to cause a question on Naruto's lips to arise.
"Before you ask, a friend of my borrowed the ride to me for today." Fu told him while going around the ride to the shotgun seat. " "You mind we drove around for a bit? I'd like to see how Broker is."
"Oh, wanna have a little tour? sure." Naruto replied entering the ride, and looking at it from the inside. "We can go down to a place I know we can walk around."
As Fu got in and Naruto began to drive, the radio was on San Juan Sounds blaring some music.
"So, how's adjusting to America?" Naruto asked as he kept his hand on the steering wheel. "You liking it here?"
"Oh its been going alright, not complaining. I had friends who I met up with." Fu stated to him mirthfully as she added. "Also, I got a job now."
"Oh? Where then?" Naruto questioned with genuine curiosity. "Maybe I can pay a visit."
Fu couldn't help but giggle at his remark as she replied. "I work at a hair saloon, just a street down the projects. It helps to pay the bills for now."
"For now?"
"I don't plan on being a hair stylist forever, you know?" Fu said as she then nervously stated. "I hope to be going to college somewhere once I get full citizenship. I always wanted to learn about…never mind."
Seeing her being nervous, Naruto then decided to say.
"You can talk to me, I won't judge."
"Okay." Fu sighed out and answered. "I hope to study Entomology one day."
"... The study of insects?"
Fu looked at him stunned. "Wait, you know what Entomolgy is?"
"Yeah, a friend of mine back in Japan is studying that. Actually his whole family are insect lovers." Naruto replied with a reminder as he kept driving. "I'll tell you more once we are there."
Fu smiled. "Cool, cannot wait."
Meanwhile
*CLANK!*
"STRIKE!" Niko shouted, having thrown a bowling ball right in and won the game.
Michelle and Niko were on the date that they were 'pressed' into by Mallorie and were in Firefly's bowling alley. With both of them seemingly enjoying themselves.
"Nice go, Niko." Michelle complimented him in their game. You won, first try?"
Turning back around, Niko was in a whole different set of clothing that he got from a local store down Mohawk Ave, wearing now navy Spyde track top, his brown fatigues, and dark Hinterland boots. With it being an improvement of the clothing he still wore from his journey over the seas.
After having played two full games, with both being won by Niko, it was Michelle who called it a day.
"Want to take me back home? I'm a bit tired."
"Sure, not going to let you walk home." Niko chuckled as they both made their way out of the building.
"Looks like you should be called the master bowler." Michelle said as Niko tried not to laugh from the obvious joke. "Bad joke, I guess."
"Nah, it was funny, don't apologize." Niko smiled as they made their way back to the car park. "It was fun."
Once inside Michelle's silver Merit, they started making their way back to Rotterdam Hill. The drive was silent for most part, with Michelle only mentioning that she was from the Midwest.
"Look at me, any Midwesterner meets more people from outside the States inside Liberty City than in her old hometown." Michelle remarked. "First it was Naruto, and then you."
"You know Naruto?" Niko asked while driving. "Like have you met him?"
"Yes, I did, only from a fare or two. Mainly with Mallorie." Michelle confessed. "She even tried to make me go on a date with him, but we both declined."
"Oh? How so?" Niko began and joked. "Do I need to worry about competition?"
Michelle smirked. "No need. It's just I'm way older than him, and he doesn't seem to be focused much, so we're just known acquaintances, I guess."
"He a good kid?" Niko went further. "Naruto, I mean."
Michelle thought for a moment, as she 'knew' a bit more about Naruto from what he was open to share with Roman and Mallorie, to where she was informed on too.
"Actually, from what Roman told me. He's just like you."
Niko's eyes turned to her, and wondered what she meant.
"What I mean is that according to Mallorie, he's kind, supportive and doesn't stab his folks in the back, family or friend. He's rather loyal and helpful to what she told me. And given she even mentioned from conversations with Roman about you. To be honest, you both got similarities to bonds."
Hearing that at first hand, it really got Niko to think in silence for a moment, as he never heard that description, and to be compared with that, was even more foreign to him.
"He also said you both were in a war." Michelle added, unknown if this was good to talk about given it was a sensitive subject. "But I believe that its not a topic you want to talk about, right?"
….
Niko's hands gripped the steering wheel, very visible for Michelle to see as his face was stiffened up in a serious look for a moment.
"I'd rather not ruin this date for us both, but yes. I saw things."
The drive went on, as Michelle mentally noted to watch out with her questions from now on.
"We're here."
It felt like mere minutes, but yet they arrived in front of Michelle's apartment, and this is where their date ended.
"That was nice." Michelle said, and she only added. "I'm really interested in seeing you again."
Niko smiled back, for real as he did have a good time.
"Yeah. That would be good. I'll give you a call."
"Please do, Niko. See you soon."
Getting out of the car, both Niko and Michelle parted their ways, with her getting back into her home, while Niko went on foot, having given Michelle her keys back, and wanting to go on a walk.
Needing some fresh air on his mind.
Meanwhile
It happened to be that when one date ended, another one was happening, with a calmer approach.
First, they had gone and parked their car down the parking spot, and went on to buy some smoothies that Fu wanted, with much to Naruto who instead bought the drinks after she realized she didn't have enough cash on hand. After that, they both went to walk across the neighborhood, with them exchanging their own life stories.
But now they were on Delaware Ave, the two youngsters were seen taking a walk alongside the wharf down, just in the West of Hove Beach. Both were hanging on the rails.
"Wow…"
"Exactly." Naruto responded. "A nice view…"
The Broker Bridge - the one that connected Broker to Southern Algonquin, a magnificent and historical piece of architecture that the two were admiring as the lights of the bridge were turning on.
"I heard Liberty City got nice spots but this…." Fu was out of words. "This….is amazing."
"Yeah, it really is. Even Liberty City has its good parts, you'll just need to find them."
Fu turned her gaze over to her 'date' and noticed something on his face, something was off about him as he was staring out to sea.
The sea that was an endless, vast, and wild void.
"Naruto, you okay?"
Naruto's eyes blinked a few times, realizing that he zoned out he turned to Fu.
"Sorry, I-"
His words stopped when he felt a pair of arms crossing around his own, as this was a sudden move on Fu's part, she smiled at him.
"You look kind of distressed." She said, looking a bit concerned. "Want to tell me what it is?"
Naruto, on his part, felt like he wanted to talk, but instead his words were stuck inside his mouth.
"Nothing, just old memories coming out.
"Sorry, I-"
*TRIIIIING*
The phone of Naruto went off, and he pulled it up, and the phone read Roman's name.
"Excuse me, but I got to take this." Naruto said as he answered the phone. "Yes?..."
…
The change of Naruto's facial expression turned from blank to anger - and that didn't escape Fu's eyes either.
"I'm coming." Naruto said, ending the call and putting his phone away. "Fu, I gotta go."
"To where?"
"Roman, he's getting jumped by some bastards" Naruto replied as he went on ahead, "You don't need to come along so-"
"I'm coming with you."
"But-"
"Please, don't think I am some naive girl." Fu told him off as warning. "He's in debt with some loan sharks, right? Because he gambles."
"How do you know?"
"Later, let's go now, shall we?" Fu said pushing him. "Your boss and friend is in need of help."
They both went on to hurry back to the car, having to cut their date off short for the unfortunate.
But not knowing that they weren't the first ones to have been warned.
With Roman
"You Serb fuck!"
*KICK!*
"Ohhh!" Roman shouted in pain, fully planted on the ground as he was cornered by Dardan's friends, other Albanian hoodlums.
Kalem stepped back for a moment, allowing Bledar to then say a word to him.
"Not only are you in debt to us, but you don't even tell us you got that guy working for you?"
Roman coughed a bit, holding his chest as if he felt a rib or two might be hit.
"Listen, Dardan is a good friend of mine. It was a misunderstanding-"
*KICK!*
"Oh!" Roman groaned in pain as he got kicked again in the chest by Kalem, this time harder and less merciful.
"Hey!"
"Enough!"
Hearing that, the two Albanian hoodlums turned around to see coming from the other end of the field were two men who called them out.
And they were not happy to see Roman being beaten up, that's for sure.
"Shit, there they are. Keep on fat boy here, and I'll talk to them."
Kalem heard him and kept the Bellic down, all the while Bledar took a few steps towards them and held his arms out.
"Our problem's with your cousin." Bledar said before facing to Naruto. "And you, angered people badly."
"No, you angered people by entering the ring, remember?" Naruto responded to the tracksuit wearing crook, rolling his own sleeves up. "Because your boss couldn't handle it I won that round, you stupid fuck."
"That doesn't matter now, I see you are hurting my cousin." Niko said readying to fight. "I told you both to stop, but now it's too late."
"Kamel! Help!"
"I take Bledar, you Kalem, Niko!"
"My pleasure." Niko said, having his eye on the thug who kicked his cousin down.
Watching from a distance, it happened to be that Fu sat inside the car she was borrowing, and watched as the fight was going on.
She however did notice that other bystanders were watching yet nobody was pulling up their cellphones. With the fight happening near the projects, it wouldn't be a surprise.
In a neighborhood like this, cops didn't come often, if ever. Only if bodies would drop.
Permanently.
"UUUGH!"
Without even a warning, Niko went hard and headbutted Kalem in the face, causing the shocked Albanian to step a few feet back when he got the full hit.
"Shit!"
"Come here!" Niko shouted as he went after Kalem.
Naruto dodged a swing from Bledar, which happened to be a poor attempt, before he then give his own and managed to hit the bastard across the face.
"Oh! Damn!" One of the spectators reacted.
"Not so tough now, are you bastards?" Roman said, chuckling, watching his friends take out his bullies hard. "Look out, Naruto."
"Damn you, Uzumaki!"
SLASH!
Bledar cursed as he pulled out from his sleeve a small switch-blade and swung at him in his dazed state, a rather miserable attempt.
'I had better fights back in Japan.'
"Stand still, you goo-"
*KICK!
"Ugh!"
Naruto's sucker punched Bledar across the face with the fat Albanian just falling down to the ground with the blade falling from his hand, with his head hitting the ground and bouncing off of it.
"Heyo! That boy got knocked out!"
*THUD!*
That was the sound of then Niko's short fight ending, as Kalem's smashed up face laid on the ground with the back of his head bleeding slightly, a clear sign of severe head trauma.
Now with both Albanian hoods knocked out severely, it was a fast win the spectators saw.
"Fight ended in one minute! Damn!"
Niko rushed up to help Roman up.
"You alright, cousin?"
"Yeah, fine. Fucking loan sharks, man." Roman stood up with Niko's help but asked. "How about you, Naruto. You alright?"
Naruto pulled his sleeves back down and looked at Bledar's unconscious body for a moment before he replied.
"It's nothing."
"Sure, for you and Niko, I believe. If one more of these gangsters tries to... "
Then Roman spotted someone behind the fence, it was Dardan, with his remaining arm in a cast.
"Speaking of shitheads, here's Dardan."
The remaining Albanian made a run for his car, with the Bellic cousins on his heels.
"Come on, my car is over there, let's get him. You drive. I don't feel so good."
Niko would have been peeved at this, but he wanted to get even on the person tormenting his cousin.
"Naruto, are you-"
"Fu, meet us back at the depot! We'll see you there." Naruto told her before rushing for Roman's cab, entering the back seat as Niko took the steering wheel.
"Wait up!" Roman said, getting in the shotgun seat.
They went on the chase, this time the Serbs being on the offense. Leaving Fu to drive her car away from the scene, luckily as nobody seems to be give a damn on what happened.
While also a few other eyes, not members of the projects, but a few eastern faces had just watched the fight unfold.
In the chase throughout South Broker, Niko's eyes were on Dardan's 'shitty beige Willard', as he was driving right through Crockett Avenue, with the cab tailing him right behind it.
Anger was brewing, yet this time it was coming from Roman who's limits had finally reached.
"You okay, Roman-"
"These guys think that they're better than me. They think they can fuck me around and beat me up because there are more of them." Roman seemed to have snapped. " Not any longer. Me and you, Niko, and Naruto, of course, we are going to show them."
"Well-"
"Fucking Dardan smashing my fucking stuff. Who does he think he is?"
Dardan happened then to take a hard right turn into Mohawk Ave, with Roman's tirade going on.
"-Just some fucking petty Albanian hood. If I wanted to buy a stolen TV I'd go to Dardan. Who does he think he's fucking with? Bellic Enterprises, that's who. We're going to the top, Niko, the top!"
"For now, let's just try to survive, cousin."
"And shut this guy up before he can get some more help." Naruto told him. "Because he ain't the only Albanian walking around this part of Liberty City."
The car chase went on, without any interference as Dardan happened to then drive into the East Hook Harbor, going right through the checkpoint without any concern.
*TRIIIING!*
Naruto's phone happened to go off, at the worst moment now, but he saw it happened to be someone he didn't call in a long time as he answered.
"Hello?"
"Ruto, it's me Luis." The thick Dominican accent in his voice revealed it to be Luis Lopze, Tony's business partner. "I heard Tony was searching a place for you, maybe I-"
"Luis, hey. Sorry to say this, but you're calling at a real bad time."
"Why, what's happening?"
"We're collecting a debt, that's all I can say. Later." Naruto hung up, just then when the chase ended.
"Dardan is stopping." Roman pointed out. "He trying to get away on foot."
"I'll go-"
"Let me handle it. Alone." Niko spoke. "Naruto, take Roman back to the depot."
"Are you sure, cousin-"
Niko got out after having stopped the car and started running up the staircase to chase Dardan, leaving then Naruto and Roman by themselves as Naruto could only conclude one thing about it.
Dardan's latest move, was his final one.
"Well Dardan's dead in the water. Let's get you home." Naruto said getting in the cab's driver' seat.
Roman would have said something about that, but considering the pain he was in…dropped that in favor of asking Naruto to take him back to the depot.
As for Dardan, he scurried to the top floor of the warehouse near a window that overlooked the docks…and the water.
"Dardan!" Niko said, arriving to the top.
"Motherfucker, stay away!" Dardan said nervously. "You already broke my arm."
Niko said nothing as Dardan backed up to the window.
Nothing was said in that room.
Nothing…
….
….
….
*CRACK!*
The glass window shattered into a dozen pieces as Dardan's body fell through it with his full weight.
"AHHHHHHH-"
*SPLASH!*
Dardan's last words of agony ended in the cold river, where he would not come out.
Walking over to the edge, Niko watched as the water indeed calmed down after the fall, and saw no movement.
"Ahhhh!" Niko groaned. "I promised myself I wouldn't kill people here."
He did find that Dardan dropped some cash, but it was a measly fifty dollars, and the keys of the Willard
Of course, Niko was not going to leave it there as he pocketed it, leaving without a second thought of the fact he was just responsible for the death of someone in Liberty City.
And it wouldn't be his last one. unfortunately.
