In this one, well, tragedy happens

It was the following day´s night, Izumi was pacing across his room, a hand on his chin, and the other holding a notebook
Today at school, he was fully focused on writing notes, but not in regards to any subject dictated there
-"I know that's not the best idea, but I needed to start working on these… skills I got"
He spent the entire day of classes writing down the events of yesterday, and what could those mean
-"Let´s see, I stopped that soccer ball, and saved Shikimori-san and Kamiya-san, before any of those events took place, I felt some vibrations on my head, it must be sort of signal for when danger is about to happen in my surroundings I guess"
He thought of all the daily misfortunes he went through in his life
-"This vibration thing would have been useful back then, so many newspapers and branches I could have avoided"
In the end, he shrugged, no way of changing the past
He moved on to the next page
-"I broke my alarm clock, my doorknob and lock, I gotta thank Hachimitsu-san for the locksmith, quite efficient, and also the toothpaste tube… It must mean I am physically stronger"
Deciding to examine his body, he took off his shirt, and looked at himself in the mirror
-"Huh… I still look slim, but my arms do look more bulk up"
He had tried to do weights before these events, with unfortunate results
-"Still, It's not so much of a difference, but still cool"
Putting his shirt back on, he flipped through his notebook pages
-"And of course, the web I fired from my wrists"
That one sent a shiver down his spine, easily the most bizarre of them all
Eventually, he let out a sigh
-"These notes are good, but I need to properly test them"
He would have tried to test them, but
-"I can´t, Shikimori-san and the others could see me, I haven't told them about any of this yet!" he got sad "It does feel bad to lie to them, and mom and dad"
He looked through his window, the starry sky night was beautiful
-"Could I"
He shook his head
-"No, that´s too dangerous, plus it's already 11:00 PM"
He never had gotten out so late at night, and he never had any interest in night activities, regardless of whether for adults or not
Even if he weren't a minor, he wouldn't touch alcohol if offered
But
Curiosity was starting to get the better of him
Although, there was one issue, as he remembered the news from this morning
-"Local convenience store assaulted today by two individuals"
The footage on the TV show two people, both dressed up in black, and wearing costumes mask
One was a panda bear, the other was a shark
-"This marks the 4th heist on these types of stores in just one week, furthermore, theres been also assaults by armed thugs, some with fireguns, in the areas surrounding the downtown and midtown. Police is uncertain on whether they all belong to one criminal group or are just separated, but they advised the locals to take further precautions when going outside at late hours"
He was nervous
-"I know it's dangerous, but the more I know about these powers, the better, right?"
He looked through his window one more time
He has made his decision
Before leaving, he went to his parentsroom, looking through the slightly open door, he could tell they were full asleep
-"I am really sorry" he bowed at them "I won't be out long, I promise"
Back at his room, he put on a green jacket with a hoodie, it was chilly after all, gloves, and his sport shoes
He also put a dogs mask he had left from the school festival, just in case
-"Hope nobody thinks I'm a criminal"
Putting the hoodie on, he opened his window
And that's when he remembered that hes on the second floor, looking to his backyard
-"Oh no, what now?! I can't leave through the front door"
He then remembered his enhanced strength
-"I mean, it's not necessarily that high, plus, if I am stronger, I should be able to take the fall"
Gulping, he took his leap of faith, jumping through his window
He close his eyes as he was falling, the air pushing against him as gravity did his thing
Eventually, he landed, feet first, and he felt
-"Huh?" he was surprised "I´m fine, it does not hurt, hell, I barely felt anything when landing"
This new discovery made him threw his hands in the air in excitement, making sure to keep his voice down
-"Still, I shouldn't push my luck by jumping from higher buildings"
Jumping above his houses wall, he started to jog down the street, passing the different houses of his neighborhood
-"Thank goodness no one is outside, some of my neighbors might recognize me, no matter how dressed I am, no need to tempt fate"
After running for a few minutes, he came across an alleyway across two buildings
-"This could be a good place to practice"
Looking at his sides to made sure no one followed him, he walked into the alleyway
It was a bit dirty, luckily the garbage was already into the trash cans
-"I better made sure to wash these regardless"
Standing in the middle, he took out his notebook and began to flip through it
-"Let´s see, what should I start with?" he stopped when he got to the part of his weirdest skill "The web"
He noticed an empty glass bottle next to his left foot
Against his better judgment, he picked it up
-"At least it looks clean enough, hehe"
Placing some distance away, he went back to where he was
-"Ok, if I remember correctly" imitating the same move as last night, he fired the web cord from his wrist
It went on until it reached the bottle, adhering itself onto it
-"Cool, now, let's try this" pulling the web like a rope, the bottle slowly move towards him, until it was by his feet once more "Ok, so anything that the web touches gets adhere to it, makes sense, this is a spider web after all, and also, the web will disintegrate after some time, the one I shoot last night was gone by the time I woke up"
After doing some more practice shots, he felt satisfied so far
-"Ok, so it's good to pull objects close to me, I wonder how else can I use it?"
While thinking, he looked up, and notice the edge of the building's roof
-"Let's see if it reaches that high"
Aiming upwards, he fired his web, which went on until it latched itself on the rail of said roof
-"Wow, that´s long, then again, it's only a 4 floors building, there are some offices there If Im not mistaken"
Noticing the rope on his hand, and how it was stretching itself all the way to the roof
-"Will it hold my weight?"
Izumi was not the best climber, just ask his P.E teacher
-"But that was a regular rope, this one is made of some good web, or at least seems like it"
Grabbing the web rope with both hands, he took a deep breath, and planted both of his feet on the wall
Standing horizontally against the ground, the rope was holding just fine
-"Ok, so far, so good" he was nervous "Dont panic Izumi, it´s… it´s not a high fall if you do end up falling"
Walking upwards against the wall, like those who climb mountains, he kept getting higher and higher
-"Wow, this is so cool!" he felt excited "This is not just the web, it's my new powers too!"
Eventually, he reached the end of the rope, because he was at the top of the building
-"Holy, I´m so high!" he then realized how high he was, and the fear began to sink in "Ok, I better get down"
Climbing down, he was back on the ground once more
-"That was so awesome!" he wanted to scream, but he could not, lest he wanted someone to hear him
Taking a few breaths to calm himself down, he began to think
-"This web I got is pretty useful, I really am like a spider now" he then thought of regular spiders "I just hope I don't grow any extra arms or start laying eggs"
He tried to lighten the mood, but
-"I mean, will something else happen to me down the road? How will these changes as I grow up?" he felt uncomfortable "I guess I already got through the worse part after how weak I was on monday, so maybe nothing else will happen to me" he shook his head "Nothing else but wait for now, I did hug Shikimori-san, and there was no problem, so maybe I don't have to worry"
He went through his notes once more
-"Let´s see, the doorknob and lock, they were like stuck to my skin, but I checked my hands and I didn't see anything out of ordinary"
He then looked at the wall he climbed with his web a moment ago
-"I mean, if I have spider powers, maybe"
Gulping, he placed his fingers on the wall
-"Here goes"
He then placed the tip of his feet on the wall
And just like a spider crawling, he did not fall
-"Wow!" the amazement was so much that he felt like he might pass out "I truly am like a spider!"
He then started to climb up the wall, changing from one hand and foot to the other
-"I am not falling, and I am perfectly stuck to it, this…" his eyes shine "This is so cool!"
He felt so much happy, with this new powers, the possibilities were endless
-"I better get down though"
And he did so, once on land, he breathed heavily
-"Guess I better call it a day… or night for now, tomorrow I can further practice"
And so, he made his way back home, jumping above his wall, and using his newfound powers to climb to his room
-"Good thing I left the window opened"
Once inside, he took of his jacket and gloves
-"I´ll put them to wash tomorrow"
He then noticed his phone on his nightstand
-"Oh no, I cant believe I forgot it"
Checking it, there were no messages of missed calls, though he was surprised at the time
-"Wow, It's already a little over midnight, how long have I been out?"
He felt embarrassed
-"I need to be more careful in the future"
And so, he went to sleep, or at least tried to
-"There's no time to sleep, I need to write down what I've discovered"
Closing his door, silly of him to leave before closing it, he turned on a nearby lamp, grabbed a pen, and begin to write the updates on his notes
After writing for a while, he put his pen down, happy with his results
-"Wow, I was really busy, it's already 1:30 am"
Deciding that it was enough for a day, he turned off his lamp, and place his head on the pillow, trying to get some sleep
Trying, because his excitement made it hard
Meanwhile, in a skyscraper building, one of the tallest ones of Hino, there he was, Wilson Grant Fisk, in his big office, sitting at his desk in front of a window that overlooked a good portion of the city, on a video conference with one figure who was just a dark silhouette on the screen
-"This merchandise is truly valuable"
-"But of course" the fat businessman grinned "The best for your allies in war"
-"Our leader will be pleased by your cooperation, Kingpin"
-"And I am pleased by his money, I look forward to our partnership in the future, good luck to your warriors in the Middle East"
With a salute, the dark silhouette
He then heard a door on his door
-"Boss, it's me"
-"Come in"
The door opened, revealing a tall skinny but handsome man with blonde hair and a goatee, and having a pistol sheath on a holder on his right hip
He was holding a briefcase in one hand, and a bag with a fast food restaurant logo on the other
-"I have brought the shares from the local gangs"
He placed the briefcase on his boss's desk
Said boss opened it, revealing wads of bills of different value
-"Nice" Kingpin was pleased "Any news in regards to the shipment arriving tomorrow?"
-"Of course, we have informed the security staff and payed them, as you instructed, these are all "spices" from one of your business" the thug laughed when he finished saying that
-"Funny indeed, but good work, and did you also bring my order? I skipped dinner tonight"
His right-hand man place the fast food bag on the desk
Kingpin began to look through its contents
-"I warn you, if there's even a single fry missing"
-"Boss" his thug made a disgusted face "You know I don't eat this crap"
Taking his burger out of the bag, Kingpin pointed at his lackey "Your loss" and began to eat it, savoring every bite
It was the following day at school
The teacher was standing next to a certain student
-"Izumi-kun"
Izumi was full asleep on his desk, the events of last night training taking a toll on him
-"Izumi-kun!"
-"Gah!" yelling, the purple hair woke up, almost falling from his chair "Eh" he felt groggy "Wah"
-"Oh, good to see you back with us" the teacher's voice was full of sarcasm "Why not bring a pillow next time?"
-"Sorry" he felt embarrassed
Shikimori, Inuzuka, Nekozaki, and Hachimitsu just let out sighs or shook their heads in amusement
The bell rang, it was lunch time
-"I can't believe you actually fell asleep in class" Shikimori said, both concerned and annoyed "That's unlike you"
-"Yeah, you would expect that from Nekozaki" Hachimitsu added
-"Hey!" the long black haired was offended
-"I mean, she's not entirely wrong" Inuzuka said
-"Traitors" she then looked at Izumi "You alright there Izumi?"
-"Yes" as much as he hated to admit, that little nap in class actually made him feel better "Sorry, I had a bit of trouble sleeping at night"
-"Is there a problem?" Shikimori asked
-"No" he was not gonna let them know about his night training "I didn't have any nightmares or anything of the like, so I am just confused as you guys"
-"Odd, still, try going to sleep earlier" Inuzuka suggested "That should help"
-"Will do"
-"You sure you weren't watching some anime until late?" Nekozaki asked
-"No" although the activities he did could be considered something taken out of an anime
-"Well, do call me if you are having problems again" the pink haired held his hand "Ok?"
With a slight blush, he smiled at her "I will"
-"Let´s get you some food, that ought to help you" Inuzuka said
Nodding in agreement, the gang went to pick something to eat
After another day at school was finished, and thankfully not falling asleep once more, it was nighttime once more
He left his house again, heading to the same alleyway he practiced last night
He went through his same routine, some web shooting and climbing
-"Gotta start small"
After he was finished, he was on his way back
He checked the time "Good thing I brought my phone this time"
Climbing over his wall, and into his room, he let out a tired sigh
Until the lights of his room were turned on
-"Wah!" he jumped back on his feet
-"Yuu" both a male and female voice said
His parents were looking at him, both confused and concerned
-"Eek" he panicked "I left my door open again!" he gulped "How long have you"
-"That´s a question we should be making you" his father said
-"Last night" his mother said "I was on my way back from the bathroom when I saw your door opened, I went to close it, and that's when I noticed you weren't in bed"
He felt a shiver down his spine
-"Before I could say anything, I saw you climbing through your window"
-"She saw me?!"
-"And that´s not all" his father continued "We got a call from school, you fell asleep in class, and we couldn't give them an explanation as to why"
He looked down, feeling embarrassed "This was not meant to happen"
-"Yuu" his mother said "What were you doing outside? We were worried"
-"... How can I explain this to them?"
-"Your mother is right" his father continued "We were worried, there has been more dangerous activities lately, and we don't want you out this late"
He gave no answer
-"Yuu" his mother was more concerned
-"Tell us what's going on" his father added
He clenched his fist "Lay off, would you!?"
The raise in their son´s voice shocked them both
Izumi´s eyes went wide once he realized what he did, he has never yelled at them, and they were only trying to help him
-"I" he felt stupid "I'm sorry"
He ran pass them
-"Yuu!" they yelled
But he was gone
-"He's outside again!" Motoko said
-"I´ll go look for him" Akisada said "Wait here in case he returns, and have your phone ready"
With that, he went to look for his son
Izumi was at a convenience store, placing a yogurt bottle on the counter
-"800 yen" the clerk said
And that's when he realized he had no money with him, he left his wallet at home "Sorry, no money"
-"Then leave, I am not charity"
He felt insulted "No need to be rude"
-"Not my policy"
Deciding he had enough, he left, not bothering to place the yogurt on its original place
-"Next"
The next customer moved, he was a rather skinny man in his 30s with a blonde ponytail and a shaved bear, and a moon tattoo on his left cheek
He place some beer cans on the counter, and accidentally, dropped a display case with some candy in it
The noise made Izumi stopped and looked at what was happening
-"Really?!" the clerk bent down to pick up, not realizing he left the cash register opened
Taking advantage of this, the man stretched his arm to pick up the money
Once he was done, he noticed Izumi looking at him
Filled with fear, Izumi shook his head, and left the store
Once outside, he let out a sigh
-"He was dangerous"
-"Kid!"
Izumi turned around, and saw said criminal
He tossed him a yogurt bottle
-"Huh?" Izumi was confused
-"You are welcome" and he was gone
Izumi looked at the bottle "No, this is wrong" and placed it on the floor
-"Gotta be kidding me!" he heard someone yelling, the clerk owner went outside the store, and looked at Izumi "I´ve been robbed, help me!"
And, in a turn of events that was out of character, specially for Izumi, he shook his head "I have my own problems" and he walked away, leaving a stunned clerk owner
Izumi was walking down the street, he checked his phone, he had missed calls from his parents
-"I can´t believe I yelled at them" he felt like a complete idiot "Why did I do that?"
He knew why
-"I should have told them from the beginning, but I was scared" he shook his head "But they'll understand, they always do, it is gonna be a long talk though"
After typing, he sent a message
Walking down the street, Akisada´s phone rang
Yuu: Im going back home
With a sigh of relief, he called his wife to tell her the news
-"Thank goodness" she felt relieved
-"I´m on my way too, see you in a few, love you"
-"Me too"
Placing his phone on his pocket, he turned around to walk back
Until
-"Help, he stole my purse!" a female voice screamed
Turning around confused, he noticed a rather skinny man in his 30s with a blonde ponytail and a shaved bear, and a moon tattoo on his left cheek, and a purse on his hand, who just turned around the corner
This man tripped, dropping the purse, and a pistol that landed some feet away from him, and from Akisada
He looked at the gun, and then to the thug
They both looked at each other
The thug went for the gun, so did he
Both grabbed the gun, struggling over dominance
-"Drop it" Akisada said "You won't hurt anyone"
-"Mind your business, fatass!"
And, having his finger on the trigger, he pulled it
A couple of blocks away, Izumi was walking towards his house
Until he heard two loud bang noises
-"Were those gunshots?"
He started jogging, following the source of the noise
Until she saw a middle age women next to a man on the ground
-"He's been shot!" the woman yelled once she noticed Izumi "I've already called the ambulance"
Approaching them, Izumi was next to the woman
And once he saw the man on the ground, the color drained from his face, mouth hanging opened in shock
-"D…..DAD!"
He bent down on his knees, holding his father with his hands
He had two bloody holes on his chest, taiting his clothes
-"DAD!" he was on the verge of tears "HANG IN THERE, HELP IS ON THE WAY!"
-"Y…Yuu" he struggled to speak "You´re safe… I am glad" he coughed some blood
-"DON´T TALK, I….. I AM SO SORRY DAD!"
He only smiled at his child "I love you, both you and your mom, never forget that"
-"D-Dad?"
He close his eyes
Izumi could not feel his heartbeat or his breathing anymore
He was dead
His father gone
-"Dad!" he shook his body "Wake up, please!"
No answer
The tears began to fully fall
-"PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE!"
The noises of sirens, both from the ambulance and the police officers, the lights, all filled the neighborhood
Izumi was drove back home by the police, where they revealed the news to his mother
She broke down on tears, holding his son, who was at a loss of words
-"This just came in" one police officer said "We have footage from a security camera that captured the moment of the accident, including the criminal's face"
-"I see" the other police officer looked at them "I know this is insensitive of me, but I need you to see this in case any of you recognize him"
He showed them the footage
They saw who killed Akisada
The face of the criminal made Izumis face gone pale
-"That´s…" he remembered that "The guy at the convenience store!"
Realization was sinking in for him
-"Neither of us recognize him" his mother barely said
-"Dad" he left the house because he ran away, and because he didn't stop that criminal at the store "Dad died because of me!"
Once they were done taking their testimonies, the police left
Izumi and his mother were alone
-"Yuu"
He looked at his mother, whose eyes were red and with tears still falling
Wrapping her in a hug once more
-"I can't believe he's gone"
Neither could he, but there was one thing he could believe
It was his fault
The following day, it was raining, fitting for a funeral one would say
They were at the graveyard, standing in front of the tomb of his father
Akisada Izumi
Beloved husband and father
August 13 1975 - October 4 2019
He had an arm around his mother, and his other hand holding Shikimori´s hand
Inuzuka, Nekozaki, Hachimitsu, and Kamiya
All of them were there to support their friend in this horrible moment
But that didn't brought comfort to his thoughts
-"I could have used my powers, who cares if I became national news later, I could have done something!"
Once the funeral was done, all of them gave them their condolences, and he was reminded that he could call them at any time
He appreciated that
Once back at home, he was sitting on his bed
-"Yuu" his mother entered "Would you like something to eat?"
-"...My fault" he whispered
-"Huh?"
-"It's my fault dad died, mom"
That shocked her
-"He tried to help me, you both did, and I just ran away!" the tears started to fall "He died because of me! I took away the man you loved!"
His mother sat next to him
-"Yuu"
-"I´m…. I´m sorry"
She wrapped his son in a hug, placing his head on her chest
-"It's not your fault" and she meant that
-"I´m sorry"
-"It's not your fault"
Both mother and child cried to remember the man they love
And that´s the end of that, quite heavy, right? I mean, it is Spider-man after all
Side note, the reason why I chose 2019 as the year is because, while checking one of the chapters of the manga, it showed the year 2019 on a calendar, alongisde the month of October, and this is while they are on their second year, so i went with that, just a little extra detail
Next chapter, Izumi will make an important decision
