Chapter 2: Just Some Shopping

On 7 am the alarm rang and Naruto was not ready to for this day as it was one of the hardest tasks of the month- 'restock the refrigerator'. It was very difficult for him as it involves interaction with people.

[Naruto's thought] Oh it's that time of month, looks like I have go for shopping. (Sigh in frustration)

After a quick fresh up at 10 am Naruto left the apartment heading towards the shopping district. He went the quickest and least populated area at this time of the day which was through the one the playground. There he sees bunch of kids below his age were playing in the sandbox and one of their parent sitting on the bench. Those parents were sitting laughing with other parents and Naruto was hiding behind the mailbox and hoping not to be spotted.

[Naruto's inner thought] Oh damn it! This street was supposed to be empty during this time of day. And those parent, how can they allow their children to play in dirt, don't they know it's not sanitary I mean at one time a dog peeing in that and who knows what that did in the sandbox while no one was watching. And what hell is wrong with those children, how come they are enjoying playing in the dirt I mean it's just sand don't know what's fun about that. Should I tell them its wrong play in dirt and their parent's what that dog did? ... Wait a minute I just realized that I am a good for nothing coward why would they believe me. It's more likely that they would get angry me. I think should leave this area move towards the shopping district a quickly as possible. Oh Yes! I just realized I can't leave while they are playing. What to do? What to do? (A light bulb hit above his head) I got it, while they are distracted I crawl while hiding towards another route towards the shopping district.

And so he did as he planned. With a quick pad to shoulder for executing his desired plan flawlessly he moves forward, unknown to him he was spotted by those children and made them copy what he was doing making their parent say, "Aww! My child wants to be a ninja".

Taking a different route, Naruto is now outside training ground where he sees a girl name Amy teasing a girl name Sakura for her big forehead with some other girls and boys while he is hiding behind the tree.

[Naruto's thoughts] Oh my god! She is being bullied. Oh No! I think she want to use 'crying running' method, the only problem there is that she is cornered and don't have a path to run. Is there something that I can do to help? Yeah Right! I can't even help myself how I can help her plus if I tried to do something I would get beaten to a bloody pulp. Best course of action stay hidden and do nothing (he thought this while getting ashamed on his lack of power).

While he was hidden hoping that they would stop at some point leave a blonde girl enter the scene and within the blink of his eyes his imagination kicked in and the whole situation turned into scene cut from a movie where a princess is being held by bad guys and a blonde knight in shining armor came to rescue her.

Ino: What are you doing to her?

Amy: What an idoit, can't you see for yourself.

Ino: You need to stop. What you are doing is wrong.

Naruto: Yeah, you tell her.

Amy: And who is going to stop us you? (With a quick laugh)

Ino: If I have to I will. (Piercing gaze)

Naruto: So cool (admiring her)

And then fight began, Ino was fighting Amy and in the end she was able to defeat Amy and her gang all by herself and gently lift up Sakura with up with one hand.

Ino: Are you alright?

Sakura: Yes, thank you.

Ino: Now, do you have something to say for yourself. (Looking towards Amy)

Naruto: Wow! So cool I can't wait for Amy's reply after that beat down. Bet she learned a lesson not to bully someone because the same can happen to you too.

Amy: (After 2 minute wait to get up) Yes, you I can say is that next time I going to be the 'princess to be rescued.'

Naruto: Wait What!

Amy: And what the hell you hit for real.

Ino: Sorry got lost playing the part of prince.

Sakura: Any ways, it's getting late and its lunch time all ready. We should head towards home.

Every child went home after playing leaving Naruto hiding in confusion.

[Naruto's thoughts]: Well that was unexpected. Of corse I would know because I am an idiot. And those kids could become great actors one day.

With that thought turned around and move. After one minute he sees another group of children bulling a white eyed girl.

[Naruto's thought]: Oh no! I am not falling for it twice in a row. Even if she cries her eyes out I am not going to help, even as they are pulling her hair I won't help and even as they keep teasing her by calling names I am not going to help. (2 minute later)Wow these kids could be great actors.

At moment a branch Hyuga member swooped in quickly saving her and the other kids ran away.

Branch Member: Lady Hinata, lets go home and tend your injuries.

Hinata: (Crying) Okay.

And they exits.

[Naruto's thought]: So I'm going to guess that they were not playing (blank look). Man now how pathetic I am for making such a mistake.

After all that finally Naruto reached the shopping district around 12 pm. He walked at the center of the road where the he likely walk into people and maintain a safe distance with other shops. He reached one ration shop own by an Akimichi Clan member who sells monthly rations to him without any problem. Naruto was always quick on his feet while shopping as a man possessed because he was out of the shop within 5 minute.

After restocking all the rations needed at his home he on his to exits the shopping district when an anbu mask caught his eye. He was staring at it for 5 minute even without him knowing when the shop owner sees him and starts shouting at him and threw the mask at his face. Naruto on the other was forcefully jerked back to reality from hearing the shopkeeper shout, he was quivering with fear and his body froze instantly and mind went blank and when the mask hit his face he burst into tears and ran away as quickly as possible leaving the mask on the ground. Unknown to him quick exchange was witnessed by a certain Uchiha of his age.

After running left right anywhere possible Naruto found himself in ally crying his eyes for being pathetic and causing nothing but trouble for others. He remained in that for at least 4 pm as lost all the confidence to go out in public, at that moment a strange looking man entered the ally and saw him.

Strange Man: Hey kid what are you doing here?

Naruto: Hiding (Scarred)

Strange Man: Why?

Naruto: Because I am a bad person.

Strange Man: (Realizing it's the Demon child) That you are. That you are.

Naruto: Are you hiding too?

Strange Man: Yes, I am hiding from my pain.

Naruto: Can I help you anyway. (Hoping he would refuse his politeness)

Strange Man: If you could bring back my wife who died in the Nine Tailed Demon attack, it would be great.

Naruto: I am sorry I can't do that.

[Strange Man's thoughts]: Sure you can't, all you can do is take life (bringing out, rolling and lighting a joint)

Naruto: What is that?

Strange Man: This is a painkiller, it helps you to forget your troubles and sleep peacefully. Do you want one?

Naruto: Sure. For how much?

And he purchased the weed with his 1 month saving.

Strange Man: Do you know how to use it?

Naruto: No, can I have a step by step instruction.

Strange Man: Sure, pleasure doing business with you. See you next month if you need more.

Naruto was amazed with the interaction as he obtained something which could help with his problem of forgetting troubles which means less crying. After that transaction the sky went dark and quickly it started to rain. As street were clear he was simply walking in the rain when he smelled something nice cooking and went to check. There he sees a small stall selling ramen and owner calling to him with hand gesture. After getting caught he ran as fast as possible thinking the scary old man calling him in to give him a beat down for spying on his shop.

After he reached his apartment he quickly lock the door shut, had a quick shower, put the rations in its place and then followed the instruction on how to use weed to check whether it worked or not. With one puff he was lights out and had the best night ever in his life.
