Chapter 4: Just Some Family Drama

After catching 4 fishes for breakfast from near river, they cooked and eat it.

Sasuke: You must be thinking why I didn't tell my parents about staying at your house yesterday (depressed)?

Naruto: Not exactly, it seems you have trouble with your family (serious when he gives his personal opinion).

Sasuke: Yes, all my life my dad and my brother had never been there for me. Both of them only care about clan and clan's reputation. My father only has time for either clan business or police work and only focuses on my brother as he is next in line to lead the Uchiha or be the Hokage. And my brother definitely wants to be the Hokage. It's like I don't even exits in their lives, I'm just a spare child in case something happens to Itachi. And mother, only tries comfort me and each time I try to raise my voice she shushes me. What do you think about that, it's pretty messed up huh?

Naruto: Sounds to me like your brother wants to fulfill his dream of being the next Hokage making your parents and clan proud, your father has certain goals or objectives to complete which includes your brother becoming the Hokage & wants to achieve while those objectives can be reached and your mother is neutral neither supporting you or your father's or brother's action, she just want to maintain peace between you guys while being a good wife of the clan head which very difficult from my guess.

Sasuke: (after being surprised by Naruto's analyzing skills) and?

Naruto: And you are either seeking your parent's and sibling's attention or you feel left out because you don't have anything else to do besides training for being a part of your clan and you are not getting no close to either one of the objectives which irritates you.

Sasuke: You know when I said 'and?' I meant what should I do but now hearing your logic it makes me feel that they are my family just because we share same name & blood and I am just a child in their care.

Naruto: It may be true but still they care enough to look for you.

Sasuke: Yeah but I was never happy there you know. It's like I am not…..

Naruto: Wanted?

Sasuke: Yes just makes me feel lonely. Don't you ever get lonely?

Naruto: You are the first person to whom I have stayed in contact with this long. So I don't know how loneliness feels.

Sasuke: That reminds me, why don't you live in the orphanage?

Naruto: Because my current life is much better.

Sasuke: How come?

Naruto: Because you have to follow rules in the orphanage and there are a lot of rules.

Sasuke: Wow, I am so jealous.

Naruto: Why?

Sasuke: You can do whatever you want whenever you want.

Naruto: That's true. So now that our breakfast is over you can visit your home and reconcile with your family (hoping he would leave soon).

Sasuke: Yeah No, I have decided that I want live like you or we can live together (cheered up).

Naruto: What (shocked and confusion)?

Sasuke: Come on, it would be fun I'm telling you. We could train, eat and go to school together, what you say huh?

Naruto: Shouldn't you talk to your parents about this? They would be pretty mad?

Sasuke: Don't worry about them, I'll convince them. Just pick me up near 'Ichiraku Ramen Shop' around 4 and (with evil smile) don't be late.

And immediately Sasuke left leaving Naruto who is unsure about his feeling on having a roommate. Still he did not absolutely refuse the idea completely.

Sasuke's House

As Sasuke entered his house Mikoto quickly hugged him, placed a kiss on his forehead and then smacked him very hard. And then quickly took him to the living room to give him a lecture on bad behavior.

Mikoto: So you want to explain something?

Sasuke: I was at my friend's house.

Mikoto: Was it too much trouble to inform me first?

Sasuke: I was not emotionally at my best state last night so I took a decision on a whim.

Mikoto: Are you still mad about your father (concerned)?

Sasuke: No, I am past that.

Mikoto: Good, you must be tired and hungry; I'll make you something to eat (smiling).

Sasuke: No thanks I am full but there is something I want to talk to you about.

Mikoto: Yeah, about what?

Sasuke: I want to leave this home and live on my own.

Mikoto: What (shocked)?

Sasuke: I want to leave….

Mikoto: I know what you said and I refuse (angry).

Sasuke: Mom, please try to understand I want to be self-dependent.

Mikoto: Is this because of your father?

Sasuke: No, father has nothing to do with it.

Mikoto: You are too young to be living all on your own.

Sasuke: I won't be living all alone, I will have a roommate.

Mikoto: Is this some girl?

Sasuke: What?

Mikoto: I know there many little girls fawning over you (casual). Don't tell me its some older woman (voice raised).

Sasuke: What? No, get your mind out the gutter. My roommate will be Naruto.

Mikoto: (paused for a minute). You two are friends for how long?

Sasuke: Since yesterday and do you know him?

Mikoto: I've seen him crawling on the streets and getting yelled at.

Sasuke: Yeah, I have also seen him getting yelled at one time for no reason, I mean he was only wanted to buy the mask. For some reason I think many people don't like him. (Changing his tone) Mom I swear he not a bad kid just misunderstood (hiding the fact he uses abusive language when surprised and he saw weed at his apartment).

Mikoto: Yeah, he is very sweet and innocent. Tell me how is his living condition?

Sasuke: To tell you the truth it's bad, there are facilities needed to be fixed. But don't worry I'll fix them.

Mikoto: I'll allow it but first tell me the truth.

Sasuke: (Realizing her desire to hear the real reason for his want to leave). Mom I feel alone in here, this home doesn't feel home. I want to explore and don't want to be a ninja with the Uchiha Way, I want find my own ninja way and that I could not achieve here.

Mikoto: Aww! My son is growing up (pouring tears of feeling proud).

Sasuke: Ah thanks mom, so can I leave?

Mikoto: Only if you promise me that you will be on best behavior and don't pick up any bad habits.

Sasuke: THANKS MOM you are the best (happy). I'll start packing.

Mikoto: Won't ask permission from your father?

Sasuke: Come on be realistic, father doesn't care what I do if I don't damage the clan's reputation (said smiling).

And then Sasuke leave, Mikoto is unhappy because what Sasuke said was the same thing she thinks too and now Sasuke don't even seek Fugaku's approval. She allowed Sasuke to leave because of Naruto because that kid definitely someone in his life and Sasuke was the first person who had a chance of being that. She had a determined face like she had in her younger days and at that very moment she made a decision of fixing everything in family and now through Sasuke she could enter Naruto's and make his life a little better.
