Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I am really happy and this inspired me to bring in the next chapter, and here the current story arc continue, where the Phantom tries a different tactic to approach the target...will he succeed this time...?

Much later, Catsith returned to the scrapyard where he usually hangs out, and he is not pleased that the assignment assigned to him ended in failure, and while he wanted to finish this so he can go home, his laid-back attitude, coupled by his lazy attitude, prevailed and decided to take a nap as he wanted to spend time sleeping, and as he is about to climb over an abandoned car, Phoenix, who is there the whole time, showed up which surprised Catsith.
"So...finished already?"
"Ah! You...!"
"So...how did it go?"
"..."
"You failed?"
"That wizard showed up!"
"And now you're giving up because of that?"
"Well..."
Phoenix is a bit peeved when told that Midoriya interfered, yet Medusa showed up and told him to continue with the job, which he tries to talk his way out but her glare puts the lazy Phantom in place, and there she told him to try approaching the "Gate" by disguising as a human, which Catsith reluctantly did and left. Phoenix then tells Medusa that Catsith might slack off again but she tells him that she will make sure that he doesn't, and then she leaves immediately.
Phoenix complained that Catsith might chicken out again yet Medusa assured that she will make sure that Catsith will carry out the task as planned and will step in if needed, which he felt skeptical and commented that he wanted a piece of action, yet she told him to wait for Wiseman's approval first before he go in to action.
"No."
"Say what?"
"We wait for Wiseman's approval first."
"Seriously?"
"Yes. If he gives permission, then you can go all out."
"Hmph."
"Be patient. You will get your chance."
"Tch. Fine."

Ch. 23: Himitsu no kokoromi
The scene shifts at a park where Ritsu is being debriefed by Makoto about the situation she is in, while Midoriya looked around to see if Catsith is lurking by, as he is a bit worried that he got away and may come back again and try to attack, as he is able to tell that Ritsu is a GATE and the Phantom intend to make her despair and turn into a Phantom.
Meanwhile, Ritsu yawned while listening to Makoto, and she refused to believe that she is targeted by a Phantom, and did not like the idea of being put on a 24-hour surveillance, saying she does not like BABYSITTERS, but Makoto tried to convince her that her life is in danger and that she cannot go around freely until the threat has been taken care of.
"You must understand…"
"I don't."
"What?"
"I'm 17 years old…I'm WAY TOO OLD to have a babysitter…"
"I'm not kidding here!"
"So am I. Come back again when Halloween's over."
"Look, I…"
"See you."
A rather annoyed Ritsu just sighed and told her that she cannot stay idle and left, and as Makoto tries to call Ritsu back, Midoriya looks on, and the two secretly followed Ritsu which led to her house, and the two glanced at each other, seeing that there is something amiss about Ritsu Tainaka, as she seemed to be well-composed and undeterred despite the fact that a Phantom is after her life.
Midoriya has been observing Ritsu for a while in order to guess what is driving her forward and what Catsith is after in order to make her despair.
"Hmm…she looked so uptight…"
"I can tell…"
"So she's a drummer?"
"Yeah, she is with her band in high school…she's the drummer."
"I see. Still…need to know what her HOPE is and protect it."
"I agree. We need to come up with something to stop that Phantom."
"Couldn't agree more. Got a plan, Yoshino?"
"Well…"
As the two are discussing on what steps they should take, the scene took a turn as Eri came and told Makoto that she can go now, as she is not needed, since she is does not possess any magic powers. Mineta showed up and told Midoriya that he and Wajima tried to stop her but couldn't.
Midoriya can guess why and tried to persuade her to go home and let him and Makoto handle the case, but she reiterated that she can be of help, but pointed that neither Makoto and Mineta can be any help, and told him to send the two home at once reasoning that they will only get in the way and that they serve no more than being a pair of mere hindrance, but he gently urged her not to think like that towards the two.
"Now, now…don't be like that…"
"Eh?"
"I'm sure Makoto and Mineta can be of help…"
"How can they? They are no longer Gates! They do not even have magic! And you still say they can be of help?"
"Easy, Eri…"
"But Izuku…!"
"Calm down…"
"Look, I…huh?"
As Midoriya and Eri argued, Catsith, in his human guise, walked past them and head towards the house where Ritsu lives, and there Izumi went rigid as she sensed something and turn around, and saw Catsith, in his human guise, walking past them, and her eyes widened as she realized who Catsith is and told Midoriya about it, which he asks her if she is sure about what she said.
"What?"
"That guy…he's a Phantom!"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes! I am sure!"
"Seriously…if what you're saying…"
"You got to go and stop him! He could…!"
"I get the drift."
"Please hurry…!"
Makoto and Mineta glanced at each other after hearing what Eri said, and both wondered if she is a wizard or not, as they never thought that Izumi has the ability to tell if someone is a Phantom or not. Mineta was quite envious at Eri having such abilities but Makoto told him not to let Eri here him or else she would act more hostile towards him.
"Tsukauchi…"
"What?"
"I'm scared…"
"Huh?"
"She is quite mean…but with the ability to tell a human and a Phantom apart…she could be a…"
"Not so loud…she'll hear you…"
"Uh…"
"Let's not judge her right away, okay?"
At the Tainaka house, the disguised Catsith rang the doorbell, where Ritsu answered, and is rather dismayed at seeing an African-American visitor at her doorstep, as she does not want to entertain anyone at the moment and that she does not want to speak anyone using fluent English, but Catsith began talking to her so as to make her drop her guard and attack her without any delay so as to get this assignment over.
"Hello."
"What?"
"You see, I…"
"Buzz off."
"Really, I…"
"Go to the U.S. Embassy, they can entertain you."
"Sorry, but it is you I want to entertain…"
"Go away. I prefer Japanese…not some asshole from Africa…"
By then Eri came and confronted Catsith and made it clear that she knows that he is a Phantom, and as Ritsu blinked her eyes in confusion, Midoriya came and told him to drop the act, which the disguised Phantom tries to act innocent, as he does not want any interference and tried to make them go away discreetly, but it did not work as Midoriya engages him in a brief fight with Catsith evading the attacks and landed over a parked cabinet.
There Midoriya told Catsith that the way he landed proves that he is a Phantom, and Catsith realized that he got goaded in to giving himself away and his attempt to drive Ritsu to despair has been thwarted once more.
"What?"
"See…the way you move, it proved that you're a Phantom."
"Aw, dang!"
"Now then…let's get this over with and…"
"Come on…I just want to make her despair and go home…"
"No can do."
"Then I'm out of here!"
"Hey, wait!"
Not wanting to engage in battle due to him being lazy, Catsith revealed his Phantom form and jumped away, leading Midoriya and Makoto to chase after him, leaving Eri behind with Mineta staring in surprise after seeing everything, and Ritsu sighed as she decided to walk off with Eri and Mineta following him, realizing that Ritsu is putting herself in danger and that she is too selfish to realize it.
Eri tries to make her stop acting recklessly but Ritsu told her to buzz off.
"Buzz off."
"What?"
"Go home, you little lolita."
"What did you say?"
"You heard me."
"Do you realized that you're in danger?"
"Like I care."
"Hey!"
Meanwhile, Catsith is jumping at a rather fast speed, and is seen jumping over the roof of the parked cars, and jumped on the Donut Hungry van, startling the Donut Shop manager, freaking her out in the process, thinking that the SKY HAS FALLEN, in which Midoriya and Makoto arrived and there he asks the gay Donut shop manager if he has seen anything strange, only to be told that the SKY HAS FALLEN, which Takuya got the drift.
"Eh?"
"Yes…the sky has fallen!"
"Really…?"
"Really!"
"I see…"
"W-wait…I have the latest flavor…how about…"
"Plain sugar."
"Ggggyyaaahhh~h…"
As the gay Donut Shop manager is ranting nervously, Midoriya and Makoto glanced at each other as they are worried that the Phantom is at it again and now he escaped, and there is no telling what would happen next, and Makoto advised Midoriya that they should head back and check on Ritsu to see if he is okay, which he nodded as he has a feeling that the talented pianist appeared to be facing a dilemma of sorts, which Makoto agreed.
"So you're saying…?"
"Yes, Ritsu Tainaka is facing a SLUMP…"
"Really…"
"Yes, I talked to her band mates…lately she is said to LOST HER EDGE and has a completion tomorrow at her school along with her band mates…"
"And there she hoped that…"
"If Ritsu and her band wins, then she can regain her confidence."
"And now that Phantom intend to ruin it."
"Yes, and we must protect her."

Hope you like this chapter, As the ring-bearing Wizard and the Phantom fight over the victim of this arc, and though the day is saved for now, expect more battles to pop up as Catsith is forced to continue the job...
