Hello! I really like emphasizing chapter titles, so make sure to pay attention to them!
Chapter 3: Not our department, not our problem.
A few days ago - POV: Agent Walker
Backflip, strike punches, a kick to the head, jump– double jump!
"Finish him!" an automated voice said.
"FINAL BLOW!" I cheered as I slammed the buttons for the final blow with my already-sore thumb.
"YESSS! NOW THAT'S HOW YOU–"
"Manageeer! We've got a situation!"
Ugh. It's just realm reassignment, just look at the frickin dudes and it's obvious which 'realm' they belong to! What could they have possibly messed up this time?
Irritated, I forgot to switch off the party lights in my 'office' as I opened the door and walked up to them without realizing I was still holding the controller in one hand.
"What is it, Sub-Agent Prentis?" I said in a very 'tired-of-being-annoyed' voice, just to make it clear that I had better stuff to do than tell them how to solve their own problems that they should have known how to solve entering this department.
"Sir! A strange kid was in here, asking questions. He just ran off," he replied.
Huh, that's actually a reasonable thing to call me for– if he didn't forget the fact that departments aren't supposed to interfere in stuff that is supposed to be handled by others. He never ceases to amaze me with his nagging. I'll break it down to him slooooowly. Again.
I took in a deep breath.
"Did he need realm reassignment?"
"Uh, no."
"Then does this sound like our department's problem?"
"I…"
Exactly.
"No, Agent Walker."
I sigh as I make it clearer for him;
"Then bothering me was…?"
"Was… a waste of your time?" He said slowly, just like his thought process.
"Correct."
As much as I would love to get into action, get out of this stupid office of this stupid department, and finally actually put my training to work again, I know better than to disobey. Not that I like obeying.
It's not very surprising for me to disobey someone, but the Administrator's very direct rules that actually help the flow of things shouldn't be broken. Or, as The Administrator in this situation would say,
'Not our department, not our problem.'
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I LOVE EMPHASIZING CHAPTER NAMES! Don't worry, the next chapter is present time Jay's POV.
