Ch. 37: Budō tōnamento part 9
The audience saw this and are surprised that Kirishima is attempting to risk a double ring-out as a desperate attempt to have Suiryu eliminated even if it would mean Kirishima would also be eliminated from the match as well, yet they are curious if he could pull it off easily.
"Whoa!"
"That's a desperation move!"
"Is he serious..?"
"What is he up to?"
"He'll be eliminated as well!"
"Lets wait and see…"
"Can that red hair succeed?"
"I wonder…"
However, Suiryu was able to stop the rolling and elbowed Kirishima on the face before breaking free, and as he gets up, he is nearly punched by Kirishima as he attempted to land a hit before grabbing him in a bearhug and attempted to throw him off the arena.
But Suiryu thought fast and did an eye-poke, stunning Kirishima before he did a strong side kick on his gut, and the impact sends Kirishima out of the arena and onto the ground below, eliminating him and thus Suiryu won the match and is the first to advance to the semifinal round of the tournament.
Ojiro was taken aback at seeing this as he did not expect that Suiryu would resort to something like that, as he expected that Suiryu would use his fighting prowess to overwhelm Kirishima, and now he realized that Suiryu is someone not to be taken lightly given how he uses a tactic to narrowly eliminate Kirishima.
He approached Kirishima and asked how he is, and the red-haired teen said that he underestimate Suiryu as he never thought that his opponent would resort to something lowly by using an eye-rake, but Ojiro sadly said that in this kind of match, anything goes, and Suiryu uses that tactic legitimately as the only rules that participants are prohibited are using weapons and Quirks.
"…and that's how it is…"
"Man…I really messed up…"
"You did fine, Kirishima."
"But…"
"What's done is done. You shouldn't be regretting things."
"…yeah…"
"Come on."
"…"
Likewise, Uraraka and Kendo were equally surprised as they saw Kirishima getting narrowly eliminated and the girls are now more determined, and reminded each other to watch out for Suiryu's every move, seeing that he is someone who is not easy to take down, and both agreed to be more aggressive when either one of them faces Suiryu later on.
"Uraraka…"
"Yeah. I get it."
"In the event that you get to face him…don't hold back."
"Gotcha."
"The same goes for me. We should rip out everything we got."
"Right."
"We should be ready."
"Yeah."
As the winner of the match was announced, Suiryu waved at the female spectators, and the girls cooed seeing how handsome he looked and waved at him in return, and some even requested to have a date with him, which ushers had to restrain the girls who are starting to make their way to the arena.
"Suiryu! Date me!"
"Be my boyfriend!"
"Lets go ALL THE WAY!"
"My VIRGINITY is open for you!"
"Come to me!"
"I'm yours!"
"You can have my FIRST KISS!"
"Take my FIRST TIME!"
Kendo and Uraraka sweat-dropped seeing how low the girls have become, being taken in by someone like Suiryu just because of his GOOD LOOKS, and Uraraka commented that she is glad that she doesn't have the same mindset like the girls in the audience, which Kendo agreed, as it reminded her of her time with Uwabami.
Suiryu then approached the two UA girls and told them to be prepared as he will DATE them once he wins the tournament and there won't be turning back, which Uraraka was pissed and is ready to punch Suiryu but Kendo had to restrain her and assured to her that her chance will come, and for now she will have to ignore the vain idiot.
"Easy, Uraraka..."
"…"
"You'll get your chance…"
"…"
"For now, just ignore him…"
"…"
"Easy now…don't give in to him…"
"…"
Likewise, Bakugo and Kirishima went to the arena and stood in front of Kendo and Uraraka, telling Suiryu to stop harassing the girls, and the ushers rushes in to quell off the possible confrontation, and Suiryu just smiled while winking at the two girls before leaving, and there Kirishima told the two girls and Bakugo that they better watch out for Suiryu's actions.
Bakugo, Uraraka and Kendo nodded and assured to Kirishima that they won't let their guard down and promised to make Suiryu look like a fool for shamelessly flirting and for his arrogance, vowing to make it to the semifinals and the finals of the tournament.
"We got it."
"We promise to make him realize his foolishness."
"That asshole better be prepared."
"Okay…just be prepared and not let your guard down. He really is cunning."
"Yeah."
"Yeah."
"Yeah."
"Good."
After that, a small intermission took place, and after that, the next contestants were announced and summoned to the arena, and the contestants' names were Snakefist Snek and Kendo, which the spectators are intrigued, having seen them in action (Snek in public and Kendo via the televised UA School Festival), and some of the spectators are expecting a heavy hand-to-hand combat.
"Whoa…"
"So they're next…"
"This should be interesting…"
"A hand-to-hand combat…"
"But Snek is better…"
"I'm betting on Kendo…"
"Who is going to win…"
"Hmm…"
As Kendo and Snek are being instructed by the referee, Uraraka watches on as she wondered what Snek is like fighting, as she has very little information about him besides the word-of-mouth claims, though Ojiro tells her that he got some info about Snek, in which he has no Quirk and relies on his martial arts skills, which made her realize that she may be in Snek's level.
"Really?"
"Yeah. But his techniques like Snake Fists and stuff are not to be underestimated. I saw a few footages of how he fight."
"And…?"
"He's good."
"For real…?"
"Believe me. Otherwise he wouldn't be in this quarterfinals…"

"…"
By then Suiryu approached Uraraka and shamelessly asked which place she would like to go, saying that after he wins the tournament he would take her on a date, and she angrily rebuked him, saying that she has an important reason for being here, and flirting with men is not one of them and tells him to stop pestering her with his antics, reiterating that she is never interested in him.
Suiryu gave his usual smile and tells her to stop PLAYING HARD TO GET, but Lighting Max steps in and tells Suiryu to leave her alone, reasoning that Suiryu's actions will get him in trouble and would turn off many women, and pointed something behind Suiryu, and as Suiryu turns around, he is slightly surprised to see Bakugo standing behind him.
Bakugo's hand is right in front of Suiryu's face, and Max said that Bakugo is poised to use his Quirk and that he is risking his tournament spot to help his friend, and he said that if Suiryu won't stop, Bakugo would make true to his threat and Suiryu would POTENTIALLY lose his PRETTY FACE.
"…"
"So, Suiryu…get the message? That kid is willing to risk getting disqualified. And he is making sure that you won't be harassing any girls."
"…"
"So if I were you, I'd stop this at once."
"…"
"Think about it."
"…"
"If you want to win the tournament…"
Bakugo echoed what Max said and tells Suiryu to stop harassing Uraraka and Kendo, as he is willing to disqualify himself to protect the two girls from Suiryu's shameless antics and even said that he would go far as CASTRATING him if that would get Suiryu to understand what is at stake here, and tells Suiryu that girls are not to be taken lightly or else he would regret it for the rest of his life.
"…"
"So, pretty boy…"
"…"
"What's it gonna be…?"
"…"
"Stop harassing my classmates…or an INSTANT SEX CHANGE?"
"…"
"Its your call…"
Smiling sheepishly, Suiryu raised his hands and backed away, leaving. Max then asked Uraraka if she is okay, which she nodded and thanked him for the help, and Max told him to ignore Suiryu and focus on the match, as well as reminding her that once it's their turn, he won't hold back, which Uraraka echoed the same sentiment, saying that she will win this tournament and use the price money to help her parents financially.
Max smirked, as he realized why Uraraka entered the tournament, and out of respect and admiration, he tells and invited her to apply at the Heroes Association, saying that she could earn additional income not only for her parents but also for herself. He gave her a business card and tells her to check the website so she would have an idea.
Uraraka blinked her eyes as she somewhat heard about the Heroes Association yet she is still not familiar, but seeing that Max is willing to offer her a job with high salary, she is somewhat grateful and thanked him, which Max said that it is nothing.
"Its fine. No biggie."
"Really…I appreciate it."
"No problem."
"When I graduate, I'll check this place out."
"Sure."
"Thanks again."
"Yeah."
"…"
As Max left, Kirishima and Ojiro glanced at the business card and wondered if Max is serious about getting high salary if one gets a job at the Heroes Association, but Bakugo whispered to his three classmates and said that once they get back at Heights Alliance, he will tell them about what he knows so far about the Heroes Association and what it is like there, based on information he got.
Uraraka, Kirishima and Ojiro glanced at Bakugo, slightly surprised at what Bakugo said, seeing that he looked a bit serious in regards to the Heroes Association, as he looked like that he is against it for a reason, which has a hint of concern and disapproval, which the trio asked if Bakugo is sure about what he said, seeing the look on his eyes, which vaguely says that Uraraka shouldn't apply at the Heroes Association.
"Bakugo?"
"What's wrong, man?"
"Why the…"
"When we get back to Heights Alliance...come to my room. I'll tell you what I know."
"Huh?"
"Seriously?"
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah."

Meanwhile, the scene shifts somewhere within downtown, where UA Academy teacher and pro hero Midnight happened to stumble upon a group of delinquents, who appeared to act like marionettes being controlled as they are doing acts of vandalism, and there Midnight uses her Quirk, Somnambulist, to put the delinquents, all of them boys, to sleep.
As Midnight checked on the sedated suspects, she noticed that their bodies bore WHIP MARKS, in which their skins were bruised, and she wondered who did this, as she has no idea that the delinquents were being controlled by someone, and soon cops came to carry the sedated delinquents away as the captain thanks her for the help.
"Thanks, Midnight."
"No problem."
"We appreciate the help."
"Oh, it's nothing."
"These delinquents are a real headache…"
"You can relax now."
"And thanks again."
"Oh…praise me more…"
Not far, someone was watching, and there the perpetrator is seen lurking behind a corner. It was a what appeared to be a person, who resembles a human female with long, blonde hair with a black flower on the left side of her head. She has a curvy body type, pink eyes with black sclera and a pink, heart-shaped symbol on her forehead, as well as many piercings on both ears.
She dresses in a very revealing BDSM outfit which is made of tight straps and held by metal rings that show off her curves. The straps connect at two points on her torso, both with rings at their centers, the first above her chest and the second on her belly, with the ring encircling her navel. Her right hand has two spiked leather rings and a leather vambrace, while her left hand has a very long leather glove with holes in it.
Her attire is adorned with high-heeled boots and rips armed warmers. In addition, she also dons a mask with an "S" symbol over the filters as well as a spiked choker.
She is identified as Do-S, and she saw what Midnight did, and it intrigued her as she felt that Midnight would make her a good asset in her upcoming schemes to cause trouble for everyone and for the pro heroes, and seeing that Midnight's Quirk would be useful, and decided to make Midnight her next target and would find a way to strike her when least expected.
"Midnight, huh? Guess you're going to be next on my hit list…"

Hope you liked this chapter, as the first match of the quarterfinals ended with Kirishima being eliminated, and the UA students realized that Suiryu is someone not to be taken lightly, yet his playboy attitude has earned the ire of Uraraka and the others.
Looks like Uraraka is set to face off against Snek, hence it'll be a Martial Arts fest between the two.
Midnight gets to appear at the end of this chapter, taking down a few thugs, but is being observed by a character from One Punch Man…who turn out to be Do-S. Yup, this particular scene would foreshadow a future story arc between the two femme fatale, which would be interesting to see who gets the advantage…
