Ch. 46: Budō tōnamento part 18
The audience were awaiting the announcement from the management regarding the results of the semifinals, as the two matches ended in a double draw, as the Bakugo-Kendo match and the Suiryu-Uraraka match saw both participants getting the ring-out at the same time, and now the audience wondered what would happen next, and who would advance to the finals of the tournament.
"Both the Suiryu-Uraraka and the Bakugo-Kendo matches ended in a draw…"
"That's a first…"
"Will they restart the matches…?"
"Another semifinals matches?"
"Maybe a coin toss to decide who goes to the finals…"
"That's way unfair…"
"Yeah…it's totally unfair…"
"So what now? The management calls the shot…"
After a few minutes the ring announcer spoke and told the audience that a decision was made, and said that Suiryu, Kendo, Bakugo and Uraraka will advance to the finals, and instead of another one-on-one matches, the four participants would participate in a battle royal-style match, and told the audience how this match would be done.
The audience were intrigued as this has never happened before, and they became interested as they would get to see how Suiryu respond, as they get the feeling that the three UA students would get a shot at Suiryu, especially Uraraka, as the audience are sure that she would want to get some payback.
"Go, Uraraka!"
"Beat up Suiryu!"
"Get some payback! He sexually harassed you a while ago!"
"Go get him, Uraraka!"
"Uraraka!"
"Uraraka!"
"Uraraka!"
"Uraraka!"
Bakugo and Kendo glanced at Uraraka and told her that majority of the audience are behind her as they came to appreciate how serious she is in competing in the tournament, and told her that for now they are going to work together in eliminating Suiryu from the finals, and once that is accomplished, then they are going all-out against each other.
Meanwhile, some of the female fans of Suiryu are cheering for him and urged Suiryu to beat up Bakugo, calling the latter a blond-haired bad boy who couldn't compete with Suiryu's good looks and urged him to eliminate Uraraka and Kendo, reasoning that they are not cute enough to compete with the fangirls.
"Go Suiryu!"
"Defeat those teenage misfits!"
"Beat up Uraraka!"
"Don't lose to that piglet!"
"She's way too ugly!"
"You got to win, Suiryu!"
"Win for us girls!"
"Do it!"
As Suiryu waved at his female fans, the medic who treated the participant's lip wounds sternly told him that he is about to get BUSTED OPEN once more, as he is going to feel Uraraka's wrath after the harassing actions he did minutes ago, as well as dealing with Kendo, whom Suiryu tried to HIT ON HER earlier.
Suiryu just smiled sheepishly and assured that he will win the tournament and the prize money as well as to show that he is the best fighter in this tournament, only to be talked back by the medic, telling him that his arrogance and flirtatious advances earlier would bite back at him.
"Hmph. Don't get too cocky."
"Huh?"
"Remember…you tried harassing those two girls earlier…"
"Well…"
"You got a busted lips and nose as payback for the stunt you pulled minutes ago…"
"Ah-ha-ha-ha…that's…"
"Now karma is approaching you…"
"…"
After that, the referee called the four finalists and summoned them to the arena, and there the four of them arrived, where the referee told the four participants the mechanics of the final match, in which it would be a battle royal-style match, where the only way to win is to throw the remaining opponents out of the arena, and the last person standing will be declared the winner.
Suiryu gave his usual smile and winked at Uraraka and Kendo, which the two girls glared at him while Bakugo sighed seeing that Suiryu still haven't learned his lesson about harassing the girls, and there the referee asked if the four participants agreed to the stipulations, which they nodded in acknowledgement.
After that, the referee got out of the arena and signaled for the match to begin, which Suiryu went for the defensive, but blinked his eyes as Kendo and Bakugo backed away, leaving Uraraka to face Suiryu by herself, and as Suiryu wondered what is going on, Uraraka surprised him with a leg sweep, causing Suiryu to lose his balance and is forced to use his right hand to cushion his fall.
This, however, leaves him open and Uraraka took advantage, performing a roundhouse kick and struck Suiryu on his lips, which the force is strong that his lips, which were stitched minutes ago, were BUSTED OPEN once more, and blood spilled. As Suiryu attempted to cover his face, Uraraka did another leg sweep and Suiryu went off-balance again, leaving him open and Uraraka did another roundhouse kick which one more struck Suiryu's bleeding lips, and some of the audience could wince at seeing Suiryu's SORRY STATE.
"Whoa…"
"Ouch…"
"That must've hurt…"
"His lips got busted again…"
"What do you expect?"
"That's payback for the harassment he did earlier…"
"Serves him right…"
"Now let's see how Suiryu gets out off this…"
Kendo and Bakugo watched the scene as Uraraka went all-out as she is keeping Suiryu on the defensive as the area where Suiryu is on is being smeared with blood, and there Bakugo asked Kendo if she is not going to take a try in getting payback at Suiryu, which she said that Uraraka should take the first strike, and if she managed to eliminate Suiryu, then there's no need for her to interfere.
"Huh? You sure about that?"
"Yeah. I think Uraraka should be the one."
"Didn't he harassed you earlier?"
"True, but Suiryu did a PHYSICAL ONE…so it's fine that Uraraka be the one to get payback."
"You sure are calm about this…"
"Well…this is fine. No need for me to interfere."
"Fine then."
"…"
Mountain Ape and Eyelashes were quite surprised to see Uraraka getting quite violent in attacking Suiryu, which Fubuki said it is understandable given what Suiryu did minutes ago, but noted that Uraraka should try weakening him if she wants to eliminate Suiryu, as she should not focus too much in beating him up as the rules state that to win is to throw the opponent out of the arena.
"Uraraka should weaken Suiryu to the point where he couldn't support his weight."
"Yeah…"
"True…"
"Because I'm sure that Suiryu would come up with a way out even if it's a dirty tactic…"
"Looks like it."
"Probably."
"And this would be a test for her."
"Right."
"Right."
Mount Lady, Kamui Woods, and Edge Shot noticed that Uraraka appeared to be focusing on beating up Suiryu, and wondered how long should she keep this up, while noticing that Bakugo and Kendo are just standing and watching, and there Hawks said that in the next moment Suiryu would try something to get himself out of the predicament he is in, which the three pro heroes stared at what Hawks said.
"Suiryu is going for a dirty desperation move. And it would happen just about now."
"Huh?"
"What?"
"Seriously?"
"Yup. I can tell. He is getting desperate now. His lips got busted open again and now he need to get out of this predicament and win."
"That's…"
"How…"
"Hmm…"
As if on cue, Suiryu made a surprise move, as he spits a mouthful of blood on Uraraka's eyes, momentarily blinding her and her assault was halted, and there Suiryu made his move and did a straight kick on her right ribcage with such force that she was thrown back, surprising Bakugo and Kendo, and there Suiryu picked up Uraraka and is about to throw her out of the arena when Bakugo and Kendo went on the offensive and Suiryu was taken by surprise and is forced to release Uraraka and backed away.
As Bakugo confronted Suiryu, Kendo checked on Uraraka, asking her if she is okay, which the latter nodded though she is clutching her ribcage as she winced in pain, and Kendo became concerned, wondering if Uraraka could continue the match.
"Uraraka…"
"Y-yeah…."
"Are you okay?"
"I'm…fine…"
"You sure…?"
"Yeah…"
"Uraraka…?"
"Its okay…"
Hawks observed the scene and said that Suiryu did a desperation move and while it looked quite cowardly, it was a justifiable one as there are no rules other than one is prohibited from killing and using weapons as well as Quirks are off-limits, which Mount Lady, Kamui Woods and Edge Shot nodded, as they noted that Uraraka might be in a difficult position and her chances of winning the finals is now put in question.
"Hmm…looks like Suiryu found a respite…"
"Looks like it…"
"But a dirty one…"
"Indeed…"
"But that's how it is…since it's an ANYTHING GOES-kind of thing…"
"True…"
"True…"
"True…"
Likewise, Mountain Ape and Eyelashes became concerned after seeing what transpired, seeing that Suiryu has found a way to halt Uraraka's momentum and now Suiryu seemingly found an opening that might help him win the tournament, though Fubuki said that unless the referee said otherwise, Uraraka is still in the match.
"The match is still on. Uraraka is still fighting."
"Huh?"
"Really?"
"Yes. Unless the referee removes her…she still has a chance."
"But…"
"How? She looks like…"
"Keep observing the match. There's a chance that Uraraka might make a comeback…"
"Okay."
"Okay."
The audience who are rooting for Uraraka are showing concern after seeing her clutching her ribcage, and believe that she suffered a busted ribcage or a possible fracture given the intensity of Suiryu's kick, and wondered if Uraraka would be eliminated by referee stoppage.
"Oh gosh…"
"Look at her…"
"Uraraka looks like she's in pain…"
"Can she continue…?"
"Is the referee watching?"
"Is he going to have her eliminated via referee stoppage?"
"I wonder…"
"I doubt she could finish the match…"
As Kendo helps Uraraka to stand up, she noticed that Uraraka is struggling and winced further in pain, and Kendo became concerned and asked her schoolmate if she can still continue the match, which Uraraka said that she can still fight, as she still has unfinished business with Suiryu, even though she was breathing heavily while clutching her ribcage.
"Uraraka…"
"Y-yeah…."
"Are you sure that okay?"
"I'm…fine…"
"You sure…? Looks to me that…"
"I can…still fight…"
"Uraraka…? Don't strain yourself…"
"Its okay…"
Ojiro and Kirishima are concerned at seeing Uraraka's state, and believe that she should withdraw from the match as she needs to assess her injuries while admitting that Suiryu can be cunning and managed to outwit Uraraka despite being beaten up a while ago.
"Hate to say this…but Uraraka needs to withdraw…"
"Damn that Suiryu…what he did was unmanly!"
"True…but he did what he had to do in order to stay in contention. You can't blame him."
"But…"
"From what I can assess…Uraraka cannot continue. She has to withdraw."
"No way…all the hard work she's done…"
"But that's how it is, Kirishima."
"Damn…"

Hope you liked this chapter, as the finals of the tournament has began…with Uraraka getting a significant amount of payback for what Suiryu did to her last chapter…but he managed to worm his way out and now Uraraka is in a pinch as her chances of winning is put up in question…
