Winter couldn't pass soon enough for the clan.
They all wanted to introduce Sienna and Kenji to the great outdoors. It was all part of being a gargoyle. If they had been normal gargoyle hatchlings, they stood a better chance at being allowed outdoors with thicker skin.
Brooklyn, as their father, just didn't want to risk them getting sick with only half gargoyle DNA. Humans were more sensitive to cold weather. He didn't know if even making them wear more clothing would help. It just was better to wait while they were this young. Next year might be different when they were older and stronger.
For the time being, he and Jayden continued to get closer in their relationship and were working on figuring out the details of what they wanted for their wedding date. Brooklyn agreed with Jayden that May was the perfect time for it. It was warmer then but not too hot. It might be better for earlier May than late May because it got hotter toward June.
Spring was the perfect time for a wedding. It would be awesome to let the kids start getting to be outside more and even getting to experience their first glides close to the castle. But of course, they were being carried this young.
Goliath and Hudson weren't used to such ideas for a gargoyle's mating ceremony to be so full of things that they didn't used to do, but times had changed, and the youngest adult generation was wanting new traditions. It wasn't just a simple leader blessing the couple's reunion anymore.
Because of Jayden being a former human, she wanted a full-on wedding ceremony. She would let Goliath still bless their union as leader as part of Brooklyn's clan tradition, but she wanted a wedding dress and her parents to be there for her, for her father to give her away, and the twins to partake in it too. Sienna to be the flower girl, with some help from Angela, and Kenji to be the ring-bearer with help from Lexington.
Brooklyn had chosen Broadway to be his Second at the ceremony, like a Best Man. Jayden had chosen Elisa to be her Maid of Honor. Elisa had been thrilled to do it.
Matt, Elisa's family, the Labyrinth Clan, Dave and Bobbi Porter, Robbins, and her parents had all been invited to the wedding. Jayden had never met the two kids, but she was wanting to meet them.
Angela wished her mother could come but she knew Brooklyn would never budge on that decision despite what she had done for him in previous months. To him, she would always be the same.
Goliath wished that his missing brother and sister could also be here for the wedding. He longed for them to return to the clan. Someday.
Jayden wished that her old band buddies could come to her wedding, but they sadly hadn't been gargoyle friendly. They hadn't been as open-minded about the city's aerial protectors. They had been more on the side of what the Quarrymen would do. It was better this way now that she was a gargess.
Her wedding dress was also being specially made in France. She wanted the best done, and Fox was helping her do it. Jayden never would have been able to afford it before without the Xanatos' help. She was so happy to be living here.
Brooklyn would also be wearing a special tux for the wedding too. Jayden insisted that the gargoyles all wore something nice for the wedding. It would be different seeing them in clothes, but it was for a special occasion.
Hudson already wore clothing, and he wasn't going to get out of his clothes for nothing. Goliath was willing to wear some nice clothes, though he didn't often. The Trio had always been the most welcoming to wearing human clothes when it called for it. Brooklyn knew he could always wrap his wings around his middle again, but his tux would be made for him to go around his wings. Angela would also be wearing a nice dress too. Sienna and Kenji would also be wearing special clothes too.
There would also be a wedding cake and gifts were allowed, though gargoyles didn't have much use for material possessions other than their clothes, food, and drinks. But the kids would need things to entertain themselves as they got older.
Brooklyn told Jayden they really didn't need gifts, or at least not much for him. Jayden, however, wanted some gifts. It was just a human custom to give gifts to the couples. Their friends were welcome to give them gifts if they wanted. Brooklyn wouldn't argue with her.
There were possibilities of going to parties together one day maybe.

When April rolled around was when it started to warm up now that it was springtime. On one of these warmer nights, Jayden and Brooklyn introduced Sienna and Kenji to the outdoors for the first time.
The twins were six months old now. They enjoyed the outside air for the first time. The clan also took them on their first glide around the castle to let them feel what it was like to leave the ground for the first time. Their parents held them as the whole clan just celebrated their first time to be outside and hit the air with them in their arms.
Both babies seemed to enjoy their first taste of gliding. But it would still be a few years before they were old enough to do it by themselves. At least it had now been accomplished to let them outside.
...
Brooklyn and Jayden chose the date of May 15th, 1999, for their wedding date.
To humans, it might have been too soon to get married, but gargoyles were different. And Jayden was a grown woman, and her parents were allowing her to do this because they trusted Brooklyn more than they trusted a typical human guy. If Brook had been human, they would have preferred the couple wait a couple years.
Brooklyn had said that he had gotten to experience being a human for a small while once, as had his clan, but they had never gotten the chance to see the sun during the day. Hudson really wanted to see the sun.
All the preparations for the wedding were now done. Jayden had her wedding dress which Brooklyn was not allowed to see until she was walking down the aisle. Angela would do her hair but also help with Sienna being the Flower Girl. Lex would hold Kenji and be the Ring Boy. Broadway was the Best Man. Elisa was the Maid of Honor.
As much as Bronx was a delightful pet, it was better that he was in a room so he wouldn't be tempted to make a mess at the reception. Gilly would be in with him for company when Robbins came to the castle.
Even though Jayden was called a gargess now, from her past as a human, there were some things that she would still always have in her life, like clothes and some nice jewelry possessions.
Both Brooklyn and Jayden were given bachelor parties a couple days before the wedding date to have males and females alike show them a good time. Kenji was with his father the night of his party. Sienna was with Jayden. Brook's group stayed at the castle while Jayden and Sienna were at Elisa's apartment since there weren't as many females.
For Brooklyn, there was much advice that he got from Goliath and Hudson and even David. David had Alex with him since his son was a boy. But there was also some mild drinking alcohol and a stripper lady. Things got a little chaotic and goofy with the guys. But with the kids with them, they didn't take it too far. The lady was okay with gargoyles. David had paid her a lot of money to do this for them. Of course, Brooklyn wasn't going to tell Jayden that a woman had done this at his party.
Brooklyn had lost the baby fat weight he had gained now that he was six months into his post-partum days. He was glad to be back to his pre-pregnancy weight and looks. The alcohol did make him a little sick to his stomach that night, but he would be fine by tomorrow night. That's why they didn't want to do it the night before the wedding. To have one day of recovery for that.
Jayden didn't want drinking at her party. She was given some new clothes and jewelry, some baby supplies, and such. The girls also watched a wedding movie. Jayden couldn't wait until she was Brooklyn's wife. She just wanted to be with him.
The couple both had fun with their male and female friends and family members, but they were more than ready to be united as one. Just one more night. The next night was their wedding rehearsal, then the wedding.
