A/N This is the Harvest Day Autumn request.
It was the end of a hot summer season; a cool weather fall season has arrived. The leaves changed colors on the trees, the butterflies were flying from the US to Mexico, the baby animals and baby birds have grown up into adults, and everyone is wearing jackets, sweaters, and sweatpants to keep them warm. It was Friday at 3:00, as the children went home from school. They were very excited because tomorrow they are going to the Harvest Festival. One who was very excited was Autumn, as she'd been to the Fall Festival for a long time. And her new friend Sawyer was excited too since this is her first Harvest Autumn Festival here. Sawyer and Autumn are going to the Harvest Festival tomorrow with Sawyer's Aunt Fiona since Sawyer's dad had to work, Autumn's father is away on a business trip, and Autumn's mother and Sawyer's mother are going to a friend's grown-up tea party for females only so they can't go. But Autumn and Sawyer are too excited. Autumn had been upset about her father leaving for his trip.
"Daddy, wipe my eyes," she said, pulling out her handkerchief as she wailed. They were out of tissue because she was just over a sniffle.
Autumn's father dried the tears from her eyes and face. "Blow your nose, love," he said. When he finished wiping away her tears, he went back to packing.
The next day, it was Autumn Season Day, and it's time to go to the Harvest Festival. While Autumn was waiting for Sawyer and her aunt to pick her up, she played with her Thomas and Friends toys and read books, until the doorbell rang, Autumn answered the door. It was Sawyer and her aunt came to pick her up.
Autumn said, "Hi Sawyer".
Sawyer said, "Hi Autumn. Autumn this is my Aunt Fiona, she's a police officer and she's visiting us for a week. Aunt Fiona, this is my new friend."
Autumn said, "Hello".
Aunt Fiona "It's nice to meet you, Autumn. Are you ready to go?"
Autumn said, "Yes!"
Sawyer said, "Me too!"
Just then Autumn's mother came in, gave her daughter a hug and kiss goodbye and Autumn hugged and kissed her mother. After saying goodbye, Autumn and Sawyer climbed aboard on Sawyer's aunt's car and drove away to the festival.
When they arrived at the Harvest Festival, it was very crowded, and everyone was having fun. While Aunt Fiona stayed close, Autumn and Sawyer went to go have at the festival. Autumn and Sawyer rode bumper cars, Ferris wheel, pony ride, and won prizes for playing games. Aunt Fiona bought the girls hotdogs, caramel apples, and drinks. After they were done eating, they went for a hayride, and they had so much fun. And they also took pictures together what they did today. After the end of the day, everyone went home, and some stayed behind to have more fun.
When Sawyer and her aunt were about to drop off Autumn, Autumn pointed her finger over there, Sawyer and her aunt saw that the big kid who bullied Autumn was riding his on his skateboard. Autumn ducked her head down, then Sawyer explained to her aunt about the big kid who broke into Autumn's property to ruin her special birthday and teased about Thomas the tank engine, and also told her that she stood up to him. Aunt Fiona was happy for her niece for helping Autumn, but Autumn was worried that he will do it again next year on her birthday, but Sawyer wouldn't want Autumn to be sad at all. So she asked her aunt to follow the big kid, since Aunt Fiona is a police officer, she did what Sawyer asked and followed the big kid without getting caught. While they were following the big kid, they found where he lived, so Sawyer quickly took a picture of a big kid and the house where he lives with her camera without getting caught and the big kid went inside the house. Aunt Fiona would make sure, she would help stop the big kid from breaking into Autumn's home and tell other police officers, and that made Autumn and Sawyer happy.
When they arrived at Autumn's house, Autumn's mother was waiting for her daughter. Autumn thanked Sawyer's aunt and she said, "You're welcome" Before they left, Sawyer's aunt told Autumn's mother that she would help to stop the big kid from breaking into their home and showed the pictures where he lived so she and other police officers could talk to the big kid and his parents. Autumn's mother thanked Sawyer's aunt, and Autumn said goodbye to Sawyer and her aunt, and they drove away home.
Back inside, Autumn and her mother were having noodles and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner. Autumn told her that she had fun at the Harvest Festival and everything, and her mother is happy to see her daughter having fun. After dinner is over, Autumn is playing her prize toys that she won from the games at the Harvest Festival. She decided to go see her make-believe friend Thomas the tank engine.
When Autumn arrived at Sodor, she could see Thomas was pulling Annie and Clarabel.
Autumn said, "Hi, Thomas.
Thomas said, "Hello Autumn".
Autumn explained to Thomas that she, her friend Sawyer, and Sawyer's aunt went to Harvest Festival and they had fun.
Thomas said, "Sounds like you had fun today, we're having a Harvest Festival too, and the children are very excited."
Autumn said, "Oh, that sounds like fun. Can I come too?" and hugged her friend.
Thomas said, "Of course, hop aboard." And Autumn climbed aboard on Annie, the passengers arrived and climbed aboard on Annie and Clarabel. Thomas gave his whistle and set off for Sodor's Harvest Festival.
When they arrived, all the passengers got off and Autumn just rushed to have fun at the Harvest Festival. Then, there was trouble.
Molly had taken a train to the festival. A mean diesel bothered her and Thomas. Molly's driver was with her, but Thomas's crew had gone to their break when this happened.
The diesel told Thomas, "I thought all the E2s were scrapped and here I found the one that survived. They deserved to be scrapped.", then said all the reasons Thomas's class was useless. Then, he said to Molly, as she pressed Thomas's buffers, "I didn't know you survived. I just knew your siblings were scrapped. I guess you came here and that's how you escaped the cutter's torch." The diesel stuck around for a time and said "Cry-engines!" as he left, hearing them sniffle.
Thomas froze for a bit, then began to cry, wailing loudly. He sniffled, great tears pouring from his eyes, weeping as hard as could. His face was wet with tears, because of the mean lines about his siblings and him.
Autumn heard her friend wail and climbed on his buffers. "There, there, Thomas," she said, pulling out her handkerchief to dry his tears. "Let me wipe your eyeballs. I'm here for you, just to wipe your pain away." She listened attentively, aiming to be present with her friend and imagined how he must hurt, as she thought of context and ways to perhaps inspire him, as she rubbed his cheeks and wiped his wet eyes.
Thomas cried some more, letting out another wailing sob. He sniffled again, hard, coughed as he choked on his tears and hiccupped. He gasped and gulped, shaking with sobs as his tears came, not once stopping and let Autumn comfort him.
She said, as she continued to wipe his tears away, "Your emotions are valid, given what happened, so let it all out. I'm not here to rush your healing, just to dry your eyeballs and comfort you until you feel better. I love to wipe your eyes." She held her hanky to his eyes, letting him cry into it and wiped all his tears away as best she could.
Thomas wailed his broken heart out until he had no more tears to cry. Autumn dried his last tears away, wiping his cheeks and eyes until they were dry, then put her sodden handkerchief away, then gave him a big hug as she gave him the inspiration she thought of and went back to the festival. His eyes were deep pink and swollen and his face was red from weeping.
Molly's driver comforted her, speaking soothingly and drying her tears with a cloth because after freezing up, she began to cry. He knew Molly was very sad. She cried without making a sound other than sniffling, but shed a great many tears before her driver dried her last tears away, so he went back to the cab with a sodden cloth.
Autumn made her rounds, seeing all her Sodor friends, then went back to the festival.
At the end of the day, Thomas took the passengers home. Autumn got off Clarabel, then she started to yawn and rub her eyes.
Thomas said, " You must be tired, Autumn."
Autumn said, " I am. I guess having too much fun makes you tired."
"I guess so. You better get home now and get some sleep."
"I will. Goodnight Thomas, see you tomorrow. I love you." She gave him a hug.
"I love you too, Autumn. Goodnight, see you tomorrow."
After saying goodnight and goodbyes, Autumn went back home and landed on her bed. She brushed her teeth, took a bath, and read a bedtime story. Then she said a prayer, turned off her lamp, and went to sleep with her Thomas plush toy.
A/N My dad never took business trips, because his job didn't require that, but I read something once in which a child cried about his daddy leaving on a trip. When I was in school, I'd have a cold at the beginning of the year, as a rule. The stars are a time hop, back to where it left off, so the part after the stars follows the tea party Autumn and Sawyer are too young to go to, because they're 10 and it's a grown-up party. The Sodor festival's in Knapford. Molly's a friend of Thomas's and a buffer press is a hug, to engines. Because Molly's a big sister type and sensitive, she's hugging her broken-hearted friend, though she gets sad herself. Molly's cry shows she's only sad and hurt. The mean diesel could be someone like Diesel, 'Arry, Bert, Diesel 10 or maybe a Mainland diesel.
