Chapter 44

***Elizabeth's House***

(While Elizabeth helped Aiden with his homework, Jason went upstairs to Cameron's room. It was time to find out just what lies Sam was spreading around town about his girl)

Jason: (sighs deeply) "I'm almost afraid to ask, but I know the topic needs to be discussed."

Cameron: (raises his eyebrows) "Are you sure you want to know?" (shakes his head) "It's not pretty."

(Jason pinches his nose and briefly closes his eyes, groaning, before nodding at his son)

Cameron: "Not only does Sam call Mom the town tramp, but she is saying that Mom stole you from Sam. That me, Jake, and Aiden are all bastards because Mom couldn't keep her legs closed. That first, Ric was supposed to be my father, then it was revealed to be Zander?"

(This was making Jason's blood boil! If Jason could get away with it, he'd shoot Sam dead so she'd leave his girl alone)

Jason: "I will be putting a stop to Sam's trashy mouth. I'm sorry you and Joss had to hear all of this."

Cameron: (shrugs) "I know what the truth is. So does she. We both know that mom never went after you while you were with Sam. I hope you know that."

Jason: (nods) "I do. I can't believe I was ever with Sam."

Cameron: "I want to defend Mom."

Jason: (nods) "I understand that. Just be careful on how you do it because Sam will retaliate. There's nothing against using your words and telling Sam what she's doing is wrong. Also, there is nothing wrong with saying what a good person your mom is. Just be prepared for Sam to speak against your mom. I don't want you hitting or slapping or showing any form of violence towards Sam because then she'll use it against you. She can't fault you for speaking your mind."

Cameron: (shaking his head) "No, I have no intention of hitting or assaulting Sam. I just need to speak my mind."

Jason: "Then I support you in that."

Cameron: "Are you going to tell mom what Sam's been saying?"

Jason: "If she wants to know, yes, I'll tell her. We don't keep secrets."

(Meanwhile, Aiden is getting frustrated about his math homework)

Aiden: (groans) "I'm an excellent baker, mom. So, why can't I understand Math tonight?"

Liz: (chuckles) "We all have troubles sometimes with different subjects. It doesn't mean you're any less smart because you're having trouble with this. You'll get it, honey."

(Elizabeth kisses her son on the head. Jason comes downstairs to start making supper. Just as he finishes, Aiden completes his homework. Jason and Elizabeth enjoy supper with the kids. They all discuss their day. After they start cleaning up, Jason whispers in Elizabeth's ear)

Jason: "Cameron wants to talk to you in his room."

(This alarms her a bit)

Jason: "Cameron and I already talked. He wants to talk to you now."

(They noticed that Cameron already went upstairs)

Jason: "Go ahead and go upstairs. I'll clean everything up."

(They hug before she goes upstairs. She knocks on his door and Cameron tells her to come in. As she opens the door and goes in, she speaks)

Liz: "I hear you wanted to talk to me. Everything okay?"

(She sits on his bed when Cameron starts talking)

Cameron: "I'm mad at Sam for what she's saying around town about you." (angrily) "It's not right." (sighs) "I felt you had a right to know what Sam is saying in case you haven't heard."

Liz: (chuckles dryly) "Trust me, honey, I'm fully aware that Sam's spreading lies. I'll admit I don't fully know what she's saying. Do I like knowing this? Not at all." (nods) "I plan on confronting her on minding her own damn business." (tilts her head) "In case I've missed anything, what has she been saying about me?"

Cameron: (raises his eyebrows) "Are you ready for this?" (scoffs incredulously) "Not only does she call you the town tramp, but you have three boys by three different men. Oh, and that you're chasing after dad when he was still technically with Sam."

(As Cameron continues, he gestures in a rage)

Cameron: "Mom, the nerve of that fucking bitch…!"

(Elizabeth tries to calm her son down before speaking)

Liz: "Okay, Cameron, I don't like it, either. But, please be careful what you say in public about Sam as it can be used against you. That's the last thing your father and I want."

Cameron: (sighs) "I'd like to put Sam in her place. Dad warned me about being too harsh because Sam can have me arrested. To just use my words."

Liz: (nods) "Your father is right."

(Elizabeth places a few strands of hair behind her ears)

Liz: "When you were born, Ric wanted to be your father. He wasn't your biological father, of course. He was still in love with me and wanted me back. However, he made too many errors and kept too many secrets. Secrets are not okay to keep a relationship. Zander at the time of my pregnancy was thought to be the father of you." (shrugs) "Jason and Sam had a huge fight and he vented to me. We found comfort with each other. Sam also found comfort with someone else. At the time, Jason and I didn't know that he could possibly be your father because we used protection. Of course, using protection isn't always 100% effective."

Cameron: "Sam needs to look in the mirror if she thinks you're to blame." (smirks) "Then again…being you're both women, it doesn't mean that you can't get a piece of her as you've done it before." (smiles) "Just make sure Sam tries to throw the first punch."

(The last two sentences cause Elizabeth to laugh at her son's sassiness)

Liz: "You are definitely your father's son."

(She kisses his forehead, hugs him, and departs his room

***Scott Baldwin's Penthouse***

(Scott shakes his head in disbelief at his son, Franco)

Scott: "I can't believe that, in less than two weeks, your divorce from Elizabeth will be final." (nods) "That's quick, if you ask me."

Franco: "Trust me. I couldn't believe it, either."

Scott: "Are you going to contest the divorce?"

Franco: (shakes his head) "No. Elizabeth wants the divorce. I'm going to honor it. I'll always love Elizabeth, but I need to let her go."

Scott: "I did look at the papers before you signed them. They looked fine to me." (sighs) "Now you just need to wait for the divorce to be final."
