Bridge

It's huge.

Taylor's jaw drops a little as she sees how high the ceiling is. Then she notices running water and a bridge going over it, and the slide. How did they even get that?

There are archways leading to different "rooms". One of them clearly belongs to Donatello, judging from the two screens that are mounted there. Taylor glances up and sees what look like tunnels set into the walls. A punching-bag hangs inside one of them; a hulking figure is pounding away at it.

She quickly looks away - only to see Leonardo moving around on a circular platform, his swords slicing through the air. It's a deadly dance, and Taylor feels herself shrinking back a little.

It's OK. It's OK. He told her they'd be safe here.

Splinter is approaching them, his hands outstretched in welcome. "Good evening, April and Taylor. Youkoso." He inclines his head in a small bow. "Boys, come and greet our guests."

Leonardo sheathes his swords and approaches; Donatello and Michelangelo aren't far behind him. A heavy thud makes Taylor flinch: Raphael's jumped down from the tunnel. She focuses her attention on the three other turtles.

"Thanks for having us, Master Splinter," April says, smiling warmly.

"Hey, angelface! Hey, Taylor! You up for an Orange Crush, or a coffee, or..." Michelangelo makes a weird gesture with his hands; Taylor's not sure if it means anything in "teenager" or if he's trying to come across as cool to impress April. Either way, it's kind of adorable.

"Coffee sounds great," April replies.

Taylor decides to try an Orange Crush. She's never had one before.

"Perhaps you would like a tour before you give us suggestions for improvement? But before you do, I would like to say that we hope you both will consider this place another home - and that you'll always be welcome here."

Taylor's throat tightens a little. She smiles shakily, uncertain what to say.

"Come." Splinter leads the two humans deeper into the lair. "Let me show you our home."
