Their plan was to get as far East as they could get before duty inevitably called them back to their holdings in Valinor and Beleriand. Who knew, they might actually hit the far shore of the Eastern Lands!

Arafinwë, freed from his crown for a whole year, had gladly thrown the leadership of this 'expedition' at his elder brothers, and was free-roaming to a frankly concerning degree.

"That's just how Findaráto was back in First Age Beleriand." Nolofinwë assured his law-sister, who once again saw her husband disappear over a further-off hilltop. "You looked away for two seconds and he was gone, liable to bring home something strange he found somewhere."

"Are we counting the Edain among that?" For now, the younger Ingoldo was remaining close, riding alongside his mother.

"Definitely." Findokáno muttered. "Do you have any idea how weird it was to switch from 'yeah, we lost Ingo, he just f...'..." At his father's glare considering his word-choice, he coughed once before continuing. "'Just went off.' to 'Hey Cuz, look what I found!' in what felt like half a month?"

"It was not like that!" The eldest of the Arafinwean children exclaimed.

"Yeah, there was a lot more cursing on our ends." Russandol muttered darkly. "You forgot to mention that you wanted to head off! We were worried sick when we woke up and you were just gone!"

"Yeah, that's a mood." Eärwen stabbed her eldest in the back - proverbially.

"I always tell you when I leave!" Said son wailed, rightly realizing that his kin was ganging up on him today.

"No one remind the group of that one time he tried to sneak back to Beleriand." His dearly beloved baby sister smirked, blinking innocently at her brother's silent promise for bugs in her bedroll for the next couple nights. He grumbled darkly, drawing off his horse to go to one of the other clusters of relatives in search of one that would not bully him.

"Anyway, no need to worry just yet. It's normal Ingoldo-behavior." Nolofinwë continued his assurance. "They need free-ranging, clearly."

"Feral things." The red-headed son of Fëanáro stage-whispered to his aunt.

"I suppose after Eons of High Kinging, he's allowed some fun." She chuckled, keeping one mental eye on her marriage-bond. There were no dangerous things anymore, but it'd just great that some accident happened while her husband was Eru knew where.

A bat swirled around her head, swiftly followed by a crow who was either racing Celegorm's daughter, or chasing her.

She briefly looked over her shoulder, to the small cluster of Ainur - and attached animals - that were traveling along. There was a small cluster of wolves around Telperinquar, a lumbering bear with a bird of some kind on its' back. She'd have to figure out what kind of bird exactly that was, because it didn't look like any she'd ever seen. She could make a good guess as to the respective identities, because there were very few Ainur that would take another piggy-back... or bear-back, she supposed in this case.

She had seen the large cat - that she was pretty sure was the Valie - once, in a book in Tumfalas. She wondered how her law-brother dealt with all the spots on that one.
