Twist
"Honey, they're beautiful."
"You really think so?" Taylor asks eagerly. She emailed her mom some of her practise covers earlier, and she's been dying to hear what she thought of them.
"I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it! You've got a real talent."
Taylor blushes with happiness. Her phone rings but she swipes the red icon on the screen to 'ignore'.
"If you're serious about this, you're going to need a website. And social media, and an actual plan. Oh, Taylor, this is so exciting!"
"You really think I could do this?"
Her mom's voice turns serious. "Do you think you could do this?"
"Yes!" Suddenly, Taylor wants this more than she's ever wanted anything in years. "I've had a look at other cover designer websites and they've got premade covers - maybe I could touch some of mine up and put them on my website when I make it."
Her phone rings again. She's about to ignore it again when she sees it's April. "Um, I should probably get this. Talk again soon?"
"Of course, Taylor. Love you. Bye."
"Bye, Mom." Taylor ends the Skype call and answers the phone. "Hey, April."
"Are you in the flat?"
Taylor frowns; where else would she be at this time? "Yeah."
"Good. Leo's going to be there in a few minutes."
"Wait, what? Why is he..." Taylor sighs as there's a tapping on the window. "Never mind, he's here. Bye, April."
She opens the window and lets her guest inside. "Did April forget something?"
"Yes. Actually, we all did." Leonardo looks worryingly serious. "If April's going to keep asking questions about the Purple Dragons, they might go round to the flat again. She's not here, but you are."
What does he...No. Oh no. Absolutely not.
"It's for your safety. I don't approve of what Raph did, but we're not going to leave you where the Dragons might hurt you." Leonardo crouches down so he can look her in the eye. "I'm asking you to trust us. Can you do that?"
