So now he is racing down the street.

Kagome walked home still in a daze. When she got home, she stripped and put on her long T-shirt and warm knee-high socks. She spent hours looking at the photos of her old friends, and then she pulled out the only one of Sesshomaru. She ran her fingers across it, and then it hit her: his facial markings were gone. She half smiled; of course, it would be him. Had said so many times that he would not die so easy. She didn't think about him or wonder. She didn't miss him, or at least she didn't think she had, but then, did she ever really know him?

You can't miss something you never had.

She walked out to her balcony and looked out, and there on the street was the bike with him still on it. His hand was sitting on his leg, and the other was on the gas bar. His helmet was still on, but he was looking up at her. She just stood there frozen; what was she supposed to do? Why had he come? Did he change his mind? She didn't know why, but she felt she needed to go down; if she didn't, she would always wonder. She moved away from the balcony and ran inside, grabbed a pair of shorts to put under the long t-shirt, and grabbed a jacket. She ran down the stairs and out the double door of her building. She stopped; he was still sitting there. She slowly started to approach him.

He revved the bike up, and he looked back. Did he want her to get on? Kagome looked over the bike, she slowly placed one leg over and slid onto the seat. He placed his foot up and revved the bike again, and as soon as the bike jerked, she threw her hands around his waist and leaned her head down on his back. Slight worry kept inside her; she was touching him, holding him, but he said nothing, just kept on driving faster and faster. Honestly she was more afraid of the ride than him.

He drove into the night; they had gone off the main road and down a rocky one. Slowly, suddenly, they passed some trees and entered a forest-like soft path, and there were fireflies everywhere. To Kagome, the site was breathless. It almost reminded her of the past. Sesshomaru came to a stop and placed his feet on the ground but did not turn off the bike. He held out his hand, and a white light showed, and what looked like a ripple in water appeared in the air in front of them like a gate. She could not feel the seal at all. Sesshomaru drove through it, and Kagome held on tight. Nothing surprised her anymore. Once she opened her eyes, the sight she saw was also breathtaking.

It looked just like the past, with the trees, the water, and what looked like to be a castle in the distance. This land she knew had been untouched by time or people. Sesshomaru pulled up to the huge castle and turned off the bike, and got off. Kagome watched as he took off his helmet and sat it on the back of the bike; he didn't even look at her; he just walked to the front door.

"Come, Miko," Kagome shook her head and jumped off the bike, and followed.

"Lord Sesshomaru!" Kagome knew that voice; it was Jaken! Was Jaken still alive? Sesshomaru and Kagome walked right past; Kagome looked down at the toad, his mouth hung wide open.

"WHAT! THAT'S, THAT'S THE MIKO!" Jaken yelled to himself; he could not believe it. Kagome walked behind Sesshomaru in silence; she was afraid of him for the first time in a long time. Here he was, a demon Lord in her time. Sesshomaru came to a double door and opened it, letting them outside once again. It was so pretty, as she knew it would be. There was a small river and a pretty cherry blossom tree. Kagome noticed the grave first and foremost, and she did not have to ask who it was. It was Rin's grave. Sesshomaru came to a stop, but Kagome walked past him and knelt near the grave, and ran her hands across the stone. "Rin," Kagome whispered. Kagome looked back at him with hurt in her eyes.

"Old age, Miko," Was all he said. Kagome sat on her knees and looked back at the grave. "Why did you bring me here, Sesshomaru?"

"The half-breed left something for you though this Sesshomaru knows not what." He had almost forgotten about it.

Kagome looked back at him. "Inuyasha," she whispered. She knew what he left her! "Letters," She whispered. "Where Sesshomaru?"

"Under that tree," He told her, still standing there with his arms folded. Kagome stood up. "Well, how do I get them?"

Sesshomaru looked at her oddly. "I suggest you dig Miko." Kagome gave him a 'are you serious look'.

Sesshomaru wanted to roll his eyes. "Useless human," He said under his breath, but she heard "Nice to know you are still the same," Kagome snapped.

"Indeed," he said as he used his poison whip to turn up the ground. There in the dirt was a box, Kagome smiled she knew it was her letters. Kagome ran her hands down the box and she felt the tears coming because she knew that the people who wrote the letters, they were all dead, and she missed them all because you can miss something you had and that you loved.

The seal would see that only she could open it. Sesshomaru watched as she let her power flow and the seal break. He inhaled; it had been a long time since he felt power like hers and it left his hair tingling on his skin.
