After their meeting had ended, the two parted ways. Steven would research more about the artifacts taken by The Children of the Cosmos and their significance,

Alex felt as if they couldn't really return back to his parent's tavern, so they decided to return to patrol. They returned to the same alleyway as before. The Children of the Cosmos followers were nowhere to be seen.

They quickly changed back into their spider-suit, and began to swing across the city once again. Time flew by as the day turned quickly into night.

Alex swung through New Oros when he saw Constable Ketch below getting a hot coffee from a vendor. Spotting Danny below, Ghost Spider decided to drop down and strike up a conversation. With a quick and agile descent, they landed gracefully beside him. "Well, well, Constable Danny Ketch," Ghost Spider said with a sly grin. "Out here keeping the city safe, I see!"

Danny chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Ghost Spider, always a pleasure to see you," He replied, matching their playful tone. "And you, my mysterious friend, manage to make that suit look even more amazing every time I see you. What brings you out on this fine night?"

Ghost Spider leaned in closer, their flirtatious banter taking center stage. "Oh, you know me, Danny. Just swinging around, trying to catch a glimpse of your dashing figure in that uniform," They teased.

Danny's smile widened, and he leaned in a bit as well. "Flattery will get you everywhere, Ghost Spider. Would you care for a coffee, or a tea?"

Ghost Spider couldn't help but chuckle at Danny's offer. "As tempting as that sounds, I think I'll pass on the coffee for now," They replied.. "But I would love to hear if you've come across any interesting happenings in the city lately."

Danny took a sip of his coffee, contemplating for a moment before speaking. "Well, you're in luck tonight," he began. "Firstly I got word that 'The Star of Morning' was returned to its rightful place in its exhibit at the museum.

Alex shook their head, "Yeah I guess that thief kept to their word."

Constable Ketch shook his head, "It appears so, up until it was stolen again in a massive raid of the place by several masked individuals!"

"Oh no," Ghost Spider was shocked to hear it was stolen so soon. Steven was right, The Children of the Cosmos were desperate to get their hands on it.

Danny looked at The Ghost Spider, "Any other unusual activities or mysteries that have come to your attention?"

The Ghost Spider looked at Constable Ketch, "Luckily I found out who is behind the attempted theft at the museum, this new theft, and several other thefts at museums in cities across the kingdom."

Danny looked interested. He put his coffee down and got his notepad out, "Blimey, you're about to crack the case wide open here. Alright, lay it on me Ghost Spider!"

"You're probably going to have some reservations on believing me, but here goes." Ghost Spider rubbed their head, "It's…The Children of the Cosmos."

Constable Ketch was floored, "T-The Children of the Cosmos? The street preachers? The baldies in the gray robes?"

The Ghost Spider shook their head, "I'm afraid so."

Constable Ketch's eyebrows furrowed as he processed this unexpected revelation. "The Children of the Cosmos, involved in a string of museum thefts? That's quite the twist," He muttered, clearly taken aback. "What evidence do you have to support this claim?"

Ghost Spider glanced around cautiously before leaning in closer to Danny. "I had a meeting with someone who's been tracking their activities," They whispered. "This person provided me with some compelling information linking the Children of the Cosmos to these thefts. Apparently, they're after artifacts related with deep historical ties, celestial events and ancient star lore."

Danny nodded thoughtfully, his skepticism giving way to curiosity. "Well, that's certainly intriguing," He admitted. "But it's hard to believe that a group like the Children of the Cosmos would be involved in something so... illegal."

Ghost Spider nodded in agreement, "I understand the skepticism, Danny. It's a bizarre connection, but it's starting to make sense. These artifacts they're after, they're not just valuable; they hold some kind of cosmic power or significance. The person I met believes they're trying to harness this power for some unknown purpose."

Constable Ketch scribbled some notes in his notepad. "If what you're saying is true, we might be dealing with a far more dangerous situation than we thought," He admitted, his tone serious. "We need to investigate this further and see if we can find any concrete evidence. If the Children of the Cosmos are involved in criminal activities, we need to put a stop to it." Danny put away his notepad, and picked up his coffee to take a swig. "I'll make an inquiry about the Children and go from there."

Ghost Spider nodded in agreement. "I couldn't agree more, Danny. I'll keep you posted on any new developments I come across. And if you hear anything on your end, don't hesitate to reach out to me."

Danny Ketch extended his hand, a determined look in his eyes. "You've got my word, Ghost Spider. We'll get to the bottom of this."

Ghost Spider shook his hand firmly. "Let's make sure the night sky over New Oros stays clear of any cosmic trouble," They responded with a determined smile.

With that, Ghost Spider and Constable Danny Ketch parted ways, each of them now on a mission to uncover the truth behind the Children of the Cosmos and their involvement in the mysterious museum thefts.

Afterwards Alex swung through the night as The Ghost Spider, their senses alert and their vigilance high, they couldn't have anticipated the sudden assault that would come their way. It was a clear night with the moon casting a soft glow over the city, but that serenity was shattered when their Spider-Sense began to tingle, warning them of imminent danger.

Before they could react, they were hit by something mid swing, and fell down onto a rooftop in Autumnreach. Three figures landed onto the rooftop as well, landing gracefully around The Ghost Spider. The trio wore gray robes, special masks, and had shaven heads, unmistakable signs that they were part of the Children of the Cosmos. These were the personal assassins of The Way, Sunchild, Moonchild, and Starchild.

Sunchild, with a deadly calm in his eyes, spoke first. "You should have stayed out of this, Ghost Spider. Your meddling will be your downfall."

Moonchild, her eyes hidden behind a silver mask, readied herself for combat. "The Way has seen your interference as a threat. You won't escape us."

Starchild, the most enigmatic of the three, remained silent but exuded an aura of power that sent shivers down Alex's spine.

The Ghost Spider didn't waste any time. They swiftly activated their web-shooters, launching a flurry of webbing towards their attackers. But Sunchild, Moonchild, and Starchild were no ordinary foes; they deftly dodged the webbing, displaying incredible agility.

Moonchild lunged at The Ghost Spider, attempting to strike them with a series of acrobatic kicks. The Ghost Spider narrowly evaded her attacks, flipping backward off the rooftop and landing on a nearby lamppost.

Sunchild unleashed bursts of energy from his hands, creating searing beams of light that shot toward The Ghost Spider. With incredible reflexes, they leaped off the lamppost, avoiding the beams as they struck the ground, scorching the pavement. The Ghost Spider looked up at his assailants above.

Starchild finally spoke, her voice chilling and eerie. "You cannot escape us, Ghost Spider. The Opener of the Way has chosen your fate."

The Ghost Spider knew they were in a perilous situation. These assassins were not to be underestimated, and they had no intention of letting The Way's personal enforcers capture them. They needed a plan, and fast.

With quick thinking, The Ghost Spider took to the air, swinging webs above the rooftops to gain some distance from their attackers. They needed to regroup and find a way to turn the tide in their favor.

Sunchild, Moonchild, and Starchild pursued relentlessly, their determination evident in every movement.

The chase continued through the night, the Ghost Spider using their agility and web-slinging skills to stay ahead of their relentless foes. They knew that eventually they would have to fight, but they needed to find someplace away from the general populace.

As The Ghost Spider swung through the city's skyline, they couldn't shake the relentless pursuit of Sunchild, Moonchild, and Starchild. The Children of the Cosmos assassins were relentless, using their extraordinary abilities to keep pace with the agile hero. Moonchild continued her acrobatic assault, occasionally throwing knives with incredible accuracy, forcing The Ghost Spider to perform daring evasive maneuvers. Sunchild's searing beams of light periodically shot past, singeing the edges of buildings and leaving scorch marks in their wake. Starchild's presence remained ominous, her silent but unsettling influence casting a shadow over the entire chase.

Suddenly the web they were swinging with was cut by a blade of some kind, a moon shaped blade. The Ghost Spider fell from the air and landed hard into the ground.

Fortunately they landed on the soft ground. They bolted up to see their surroundings, only to discover that they were in Spiritdrift Cemetary, the largest cemetery in the borough.

"Oh shit," They muttered to themselves. This was a bad location for them. Wide open fields and several ghosts that stayed by their graves. They hoped the ghosts would be quiet as they didn't want to be distracted from the ghosts around them. The ghost's voices weighed on their head as they tried to focus.

The Ghost Spider knew they needed a strategy to gain the upper hand. They couldn't outrun these assassins forever. As the Ghost Spider ran through the cemetary they began to formulate a plan.

The three assassins landed into the cemetery and spread out in search of their target.

Diving into an empty grave between two gravemarkers, The Ghost Spider quickly hid. Their pursuers were close behind, but they bought themselves a few precious seconds.

Taking advantage of the momentary respite, The Ghost Spider pulled his sleeve covering his robotic arm down. He opened a compartment in his arm and retrieved a small device. Goron had helped them create a few gizmos to help them out in the field, in dire situations, such as this.

Sunchild, Moonchild, and Starchild were spread out and searched through the cemetery for the Ghost Spider. The moonchild took out two daggers with a moon shaped pommel and a small vial of some liquid. She doused the blades with the mystery liquid.

As they searched, rain began to fall, The Ghost Spider had vanished from sight. The assassins were left searching for any sign of their elusive quarry.

Unbeknownst to their pursuers, The Ghost Spider had hidden in an empty grave, watching their movements. With a careful web-slinging maneuver, they ascended silently behind Sunchild, who had taken the rear in the search.

Before Sunchild could react, The Ghost Spider jumped out and landed a swift kick to his back, sending him crashing into the ground. Moonchild and Starchild turned in surprise, but it was too late. The Ghost Spider had already bound Sunchild in webbing, immobilizing him.

Moonchild and Starchild, realizing that their comrade had been incapacitated, moved to attack. The Ghost Spider, however, had one more trick up their sleeve. They activated the small device and threw it at Moonchild and Starchild. Causing them to be ensnared in a small blob of webbing, rendering them powerless.

With their adversaries captured, The Ghost Spider took a moment to catch their breath. The Way's personal enforcers had proven to be formidable opponents, but quick thinking and resourcefulness had turned the tide of the battle in their favor.

The rain continued to fall as The Ghost Spider approached the captured assassins. They kept a cautious distance, knowing that even immobilized, the Children of the Cosmos followers were not to be underestimated.

"You're not going anywhere," The Ghost Spider said, "Now, tell me why you were after me, and why you're involved in those museum thefts."

Sunchild, still bound in webbing, glared defiantly. "You won't stop The Way's plans. Our purpose is far beyond your comprehension."

Moonchild and Starchild remained silent, their faces concealed behind their masks.

The Ghost Spider knew they wouldn't get any answers easily, but they had to get answers out of them one way or another.

The Ghost Spider contemplated their options, realizing that they needed to find a way to extract information from the captured assassins. They decided to start with a bit of intimidation.

With a menacing tone, The Ghost Spider leaned in closer to Sunchild. "You see, I have a talent for making people talk, one way or another," They hissed. "And trust me, you don't want to see what happens when I get creative with my webbing."

Sunchild's eyes widened, and for a moment, fear flickered across his face. He may have been devoted to The Way, but facing the unknown methods of a relentless vigilante was a different matter altogether.

Seeing their chance, The Ghost Spider turned to Moonchild and Starchild. "I suggest you two start talking as well," They said firmly. "Because if you don't, I'll make sure your friend here has a very uncomfortable conversation."

Moonchild and Starchild exchanged nervous glances behind their masks but remained silent.

Frustrated by their unwillingness to cooperate, The Ghost Spider decided to try a different approach.

"Listen," The Ghost Spider said, their tone softer but still determined. "I don't want to fight you. I just want answers. Why were you after me, and what is The Way planning?"

Sunchild hesitated for a moment before looking over at Moonchild who was cutting her webbing with her blades. He decided to bide their time, Sunchild gave a facade, sighing in defeat. "The Way believes that your interference threatens our mission. We were tasked with stopping you before you could uncover our true purpose."

The Ghost Spider nodded, pressing for more information. "And what is your true purpose? What's the connection between The Children of the Cosmos and the museum thefts?"

Sunchild hesitated again, but this time, he feigned conflict. Finally, he spoke, making his voice sound as if it was filled with uncertainty. "The Way seeks artifacts of celestial significance. We believe they hold the key to unlocking a chance to speak their truth, a message that will change the world, and the universe," Moonchild and gotten through the first layer of webbings

The Ghost Spider's mind raced as they processed the information. The Children of the Cosmos were indeed after celestial artifacts, but their intentions remained shrouded in mystery. "What message?"

The Sunchild shook his head, "Sorry, Ghost Spider, not even we know of his true message."

The Ghost Spider couldn't help but feel frustrated by the cryptic answers. It was clear that The Way and the Children of the Cosmos had a deeper agenda, one that they were not willing to reveal easily.

With a sigh of exasperation, The Ghost Spider said, "You're not being very helpful, but I have a feeling we'll find out more eventually. For now, I'm turning you over to the authorities."

As The Ghost Spider stood over their captured adversaries, their moment of triumph turned into one of shock and peril. Their spider sense was going off, they went to move but it was too late. A sharp slicing pain erupted on his backside. They then leapt out of harm's way, and onto a statue.

The Ghost Spider saw that Moonchild had her blades out, and had a light coating of their blood on them. Sunchild was helped out of his webbing by the Starchild. Sunchild, Moonchild, and Starchild, had broken free from their restraints and lunged at The Ghost Spider.

Caught off guard and outnumbered, The Ghost Spider found themselves in a dire situation. They leapt off the statue as the assassins followed them and fought with an uncanny precision and coordination, their attacks relentless and deadly. Despite their best efforts to defend themselves, The Ghost Spider was quickly overwhelmed. It was compounded by a sense of their balance being off-kilter. Their breath was starting to get heavy as they were starting to get sluggish.

Now was their time, Sunchild's searing beams of light struck with precision, singeing the hero's costume and leaving painful burns, and the Moonchild attacked them in close quarters, her strikes were relentless. They did their best fighting them off, Goron's training had come in handy. However while dodging Sunchild and Moonchild's attacks, they noticed the third one was nowhere to be seen,

The Ghost Spider fought valiantly to hold their ground against the relentless assault, it became clear that they were at a severe disadvantage. The Children of the Cosmos assassins were not only skilled but seemed to possess unnatural abilities that made them formidable adversaries. The toxins from Moonchild's poisoned blades and Sunchild's searing beams of light were taking its toll.

Desperation set in as The Ghost Spider realized they needed an escape plan, and fast. With a burst of adrenaline, they swung towards a nearby tree, using their web-shooters to create a web shield to block incoming attacks. The tree offered some cover, but it was clear they couldn't keep this up for as they tried to catch their breath, they heard a voice. "Don't struggle."

The Ghost Spider turned around to see the Starchild. They tried to attack her, but she placed one hand upon their chest, and their energy, their whole life force seemed to drain away. Starchild's enigmatic powers seemed to sap The Ghost Spider's strength.

The Ghost Spider struggled against the draining sensation, feeling their energy slipping away rapidly. They were in a dire situation, with no way to break free from Starchild's hold. The assailants from the Children of the Cosmos had them cornered, and their strength was rapidly waning.

With the last reserves of their energy, The Ghost Spider managed to utter a single word, "Why?"

Starchild's voice remained chilling as she replied, "The Way's vision will be realized, even if it means eliminating those who stand in our path."

As The Ghost Spider felt themselves growing weaker, they knew they had to find a way out of this dire predicament. They couldn't let the Children of the Cosmos take them down, not when they were so close to unraveling the mystery behind the thefts and The Way's true intentions.

Summoning all the willpower they could muster, The Ghost Spider attempted a desperate maneuver. They released a burst of webbing from their palm, aiming it towards Starchild in an attempt to disorient her. The webbing struck her mask, obscuring her vision momentarily. It was a small window of opportunity, but The Ghost Spider had to make the most of it.

With the last of their strength, they swung away from Starchild and her draining touch, using the momentum to create distance between them and the assassins. They couldn't afford to stay and fight in their weakened state.

They attempted to swing away but one more powerful blast from the Sunchild had grounded their efforts to escape. The Ghost Spider tried standing up to retreat, but was swiftly kicked back down to the ground by the Moonchild.

The three assassins surrounded the Ghost Spider as they looked down at their defeated foe. The Sunchild kicked them in the ribs as they turned them over. "Any last words, Ghost Spider?"

The Ghost Spider was battered and weakened, but their determination remained unbroken. With labored breaths and pain coursing through their body, they managed a defiant smile. "No, I've said enough."

The Children of the Cosmos assassins exchanged glances, their expressions hidden behind their masks. Moonchild raised her blade, ready to strike the final blow, but before she could deliver the fatal strike, a swirling portal materialized around The Ghost Spider. They were enveloped by its shimmering energies and then suddenly found themselves tumbling through space.

As they tumbled through the portal, disoriented and battered, The Ghost Spider had no idea where they were headed. What felt like moments later, they landed with a soft thud on an incredibly comfortable bed, and sleep overtook them.
