The Doctor had kissed her.

That thought alone was enough to have Katy's cheeks turning bright red, her heart still thumping quickly in her chest. It took her a few more moments to realise the awful pain in her head had finally subsided, feeling as if she could breathe for the first time in hours. But she could still feel the Angel in her mind, biding its time. What would happen if she opened her eyes again?

"She's stabilising. Apart from her heart rate...but that doesn't seem to be related to the Angel" River spoke up, the teasing tone clear in her voice.

"Uh, Doctor. What was that about?" Katy asked, her cheeks still burning.

"Well, I thought a good shock would do it. Surprise!" The Doctor exclaimed as Katy heard River Song huff out a laugh from beside her.

"You certainly surprised me..." Katy trailed off, not needing to open her eyes to know a grin had appeared on the Doctor's face at her words.

"She's still weak. Dangerous to move her" River announced, pulling the med scanner away from Katy's arm.

"So, I'm guessing I can't open my eyes still?" Katy stated.

"Katy, listen to me. If you open your eyes now for more than a second, you will die. The Angel is still inside you. We haven't stopped it, we've just sort of paused it. You've used up your countdown. You cannot open your eyes" The Doctor insisted, watching as she gave a curt nod.

"Doctor, we're too exposed here. We have to move on" Octavian warned, as the Doctor pushed himself to his feet.

"We're too exposed everywhere. And Katy can't move. And anyway, that's not the plan" The Doctor told them.

"There's a plan?" River questioned, incredulously.

"I don't know yet. I haven't finished talking. Right! Father, you and your Clerics, are going to take River and Amy to find the Primary Flight Deck which is...a quarter of a mile straight ahead, and from there I'll talk you through stabilising the wreckage and stopping the Angels" The Doctor explained.

"What about you?" River frowned.

"I'll stay here with Katy, keep an eye on the Angels, stop them from advancing" The Doctor replied, going to sit beside the girl in question.

"Doctor, you need to come with us. We don't have a hope of succeeding without you, and I think you know that, sir. My Clerics will look after your friend. These are my best men. They'd lay down their lives in her protection" Octavian insisted, as the Doctor shook his head.

"Fine. They can stay too. But you three need to go" The Doctor retorted, stubbornly.

"Doctor, listen to him. Go. I'll be fine. I think I can handle an hour or two without you" Katy exclaimed, hearing the Doctor let out a loud sigh from beside her.

"You could come with us. I could carry you" The Doctor suggested, making her scoff.

"You try that and you're gonna' get a slap" Katy warned, unable to see how the Doctor's smile returned.

"I'll be back for you as soon as I can, I promise" The Doctor murmured, as she felt him lean a little closer to her.

For a split second, she thought he might kiss her again, but instead, he opted to place his hand on her leg, giving a comforting squeeze. She was then knocking their shoulders together, ushering him to leave. If they had any hope of stopping the Weeping Angels, then the Doctor needed to run, whether that was with or without her.

"I know. I'll hold down the fort while you're gone. Make sure these guys behave themselves" Katy mumbled, nodding toward where she thought the nearest cleric was.

"Clerics, if anything happens to her, I'll hold every single one of you personally responsible, twice. And keep watching the forest. Stop those Angels advancing" The Doctor announced, patting her leg one more time before he was rushing to his feet.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure he comes back in one piece" River whispered to her, before the group started to trek further into the forest.

Panic was quick to take hold of Katy as she heard their footsteps become more and more distant, realising just how vulnerable she was. Her only defence against a Weeping Angel was looking at it, and now she couldn't even do that. She was worse than useless. She was a burden now.

Katy was startled when she felt warm hands suddenly clasping around her own, inclining her head up even though she couldn't open her eyes to see who the newcomer was. Her brows knitted together as she found even without her sight, it only took a few seconds for her to recognise the sound of the person's breathing.

"Doctor?" She frowned, not understanding why he had come back so quickly.

"Katy, you need to start trusting me. It's never been more important" The Doctor insisted.

"You've been keeping things from me. You said you didn't want to lose me again. What did you mean? Does something happen to me?" Katy retorted, as the Doctor leaned forward to press their foreheads together.

"You're here now" The Doctor stated.

"But I'm not. I'm from your past. What about your Katy?" She went on, as the Doctor reached up to cup her cheek.

"Remember what I told you the first time we met?" The Doctor asked, watching as her forehead wrinkled.

"In the hospital?" She queried.

"Before that. You have to remember. You have to get Amy to remember too" The Doctor pushed, before pressing his lips to her forehead.

"Before? What do you mean? Doctor?" Katy questioned, but she could no longer feel the warmth of his hand on her cheek.

"Doctor?" Katy repeated, pushing herself onto unsteady feet, instinctively wanting to chase after him.

"He's gone, Ma'am" One of the clerics informed her, as she ran a hand through her messy hair.

Just as Katy opened her mouth to ask what direction he went in, the light started flickering around her. Even with her eyes shut, she could tell something was wrong. Hurried footsteps rushed toward her, as one of the clerics came to stand by her side, their gun raised in the air.

"They're ripping the Treeborgs apart. They're taking out the lights" The cleric informed her, as fear coursed through her veins.

"Okay, we need to move. We might not be able to outrun them but it might buy us some time" Katy suggested.

"No, Ma'am. Doctor Song said you were too weak to move" The cleric stated.

"Well, River Song isn't the boss of me. Now, come on. Moving out" Katy insisted, as she reached out for the cleric's arm to guide her in the right direction.

Suddenly, there was a bright flash of light directly in front of her, and even with her eyes still clamped shut, Katy found she had to look away. Her feet were begging her to run in the opposite direction, as the hairs raised on the back of her neck once more. It didn't take her long to realise what the light was.

"The ship's not on fire, is it?" The cleric beside her asked.

"It can't be. the compressors would have taken care of it. Marco, the Angels have gone. Where'd they go?" Another cleric called out.

"The Angels have gone?" Katy frowned.

"There's still movement out there, but away from us now. It's like they're running" The cleric informed her.

"Phillip, Crispin, need to get a closer look at that" The cleric close to her advised, as Katy tightened her hold on his arm.

"No! No, you can't get near it!" Katy insisted.

"It's alright, Ma'am. We won't get too close" Crispin exclaimed, before he and his comrade were stumbling in the direction of the blinding light.

"Wait! Come back! Tell them to come back!" Katy cried, but the cleric beside her wouldn't listen.

"They know what they're doing. You should sit down, Ma'am. You're not looking so good" The cleric told her, as she wished she could glare at him.

"Look, you need to listen to me, alright? That light...it's a crack in time. And if you get too close...it wipes your whole existence. Do you understand? You won't have ever existed!" Katy warned as the two remaining clerics shared a look of disbelief.

"You think she hit her head?" The other cleric murmured.

"I'm not making this up! Please, you have to listen to me!" Katy exclaimed.

"You can't even see the light; how could you know it's this...crack in time?" The cleric beside her pointed out, as Katy pursed her lips.

"Okay, fine. Plan B then" Katy muttered, before reaching out to grab the muzzle of the cleric's rifle.

She was then tugging it upward, using the cleric's own weapon to strike him in the face, before ripping it away from him whilst he was still in shock from her actions. Twisting it around in her sweaty hands, she pointed the rifle in the cleric's direction, feeling for the trigger.

"What are you doing?!" The cleric gaped.

"Saving both your lives. Now, we're gonna' start walking in that direction. Both of you in front of me" Katy told them.

"She's lost her damn mind" The other cleric accused, as she twisted around to face him, gripping the rifle tightly in her hands.

"If you don't do what I say, what's gonna' happen to your two friends will happen to you too" Katy insisted, finding her words were met with only silence.

"What friends?" The cleric beside her questioned.

"...Shit" Katy muttered, realising it was already too late.

"So, you really expect us to believe that there were two other clerics with us this whole time, and we've just forgotten about them?" Katy heard the cleric in front of her say.

"What's your name?" Katy inquired.

"Marco. And the man you have that rifle aimed at is Pedro" The cleric informed her.

"Trust me, if we make it out of this alive, you both are gonna' be thanking me" Katy mumbled, hearing the cleric scoff.

"I'll have to take your word for that, Ma'am" Marco stated, with a shake of his head.

It had been slow work, trekking through the forest with Katy unable to open her eyes. She kept one hand on her rifle and the other hand on Marco's shoulder, as he guided her over the branches and foliage that surrounded them. She paid close attention to Pedro's movements nearby, suspecting he was formulating a plan to wrestle her for the weapon. She doubted she would be able to stop him, seeing as she wouldn't be able to aim properly, but at least her threat had kept them moving away from the light.

"Is it still getting closer?" She asked, hearing as Pedro came to a halt, turning around.

"Dear God...it's so close now. I could almost reach out and touch it..." Pedro trailed off, as Katy stumbled over to him, grabbing his shoulder.

"Yeah, let's not do that. In fact, no more looking at it either" Katy murmured.

"Any more rules, Ma'am?" Marco complained, as she attempted to roll her eyes despite keeping her eyes closed.

"You got any family, Marco?" Katy questioned.

"My parents died in the Shadow Wars. Brother too. But I have a wife at home. Two boys. Why?" Marco frowned, as the three began to walk once more.

"Then think about them. And hurry up" Katy insisted, hearing Pedro huff out a laugh beside her.

"You always like this?" Pedro inquired.

"Pretty much" Katy shrugged, as Marco took hold of her arm and turned her away from the tree she had been walking too close to.

"Can you give me back my gun now?" Marco suggested.

"Nope," She grinned, as she heard a beeping sound, appearing to come from Marco's pocket.

"What is that?" She frowned, hearing Marco unzipping the pocket.

"It's my communicator. It's picking up a signal. The Doctor must have made it to the Primary Flight Deck" Marco realised, as Katy was instantly dropping the rifle to the ground and grabbing the communicator, knowing it was far more important than her weapon.

"Doctor? Doctor, can you hear me?" Katy exclaimed, in a panicked tone.

All she received was the sound of static, making her heart tighten in her chest. What if the Angels had got to him before he made it to the flight deck? Or the light had caught up with him—

"Katy? Is that you?" A familiar voice announced, as Katy hung her head in relief.

"You have no idea how good it is to hear your voice" Katy sighed, able to hear how the Doctor grinned from the other end of the line.

"Where are you? Are the clerics with you?" The Doctor inquired.

"Two of them. The others walked into the light. I couldn't stop them" Katy confessed, as she heard static once more, worried she had lost the signal.

"Katy, it's River. There's a teleport here but I can only take one at a time. Don't let go of your communicator, alright?" River Song told her.

"Pedro, do you have your own communicator?" Katy questioned, turning in the direction of where the cleric had last been.

"Fuck" Marco cried, surprising Katy with his language.

"What? What's wrong?" Katy asked, as Marco suddenly grabbed her hand and dragged her away.

"Pedro. He's gone" Marco whispered, as he pulled them both behind a tree.

"But you remember him. Why would...shit, the Angels. Do you see any?" Katy questioned, in a shaky voice.

"No. But they can't be far" Marco mumbled, his eyes darting around the forest.

"I shouldn't have left you there" She heard the Doctor mutter from the communicator.

"Just get the teleport working. We'll watch each other's backs...well, actually I guess I won't but...Jesus, you get what I mean" Katy groaned.

"If the Angels take me, Ma'am, I want you to make a run for it. Take your chance to get away" Marco told her.

"I'm not much of a runner" Katy said, with a slight smirk, as she felt Marco grip her hand a little tighter.

"There! I've got it! Right, Katy, I'll teleport you first. Should take only about...ten minutes until the teleport charges up again..." River trailed off, knowing that was about nine minutes too long.

"Very well, Ma'am" Marco mumbled, resigning himself to his fate.

"Ten seconds. Keep hold of the communicator" River advised, as Marco pulled his hand away from hers.

"It's alright. I'll keep the Angels busy here, try to buy you all some time" Marco announced, as Katy pursed her lips.

"Five seconds" River exclaimed.

"You're a good man, Marco" Katy told him, as his lips twitched into a smile.

"...But self-sacrifice is more my thing," Katy said, before chucking the communicator toward him, which he instinctively caught.

"Wait—" Marco's cry was cut off as there was a bright flash, and suddenly he found himself on the Primary Flight Deck.

He twisted around to find the Doctor giving him a horrified look, realising what Katy had done. He opened his mouth to apologise, to ask if there was something he could do, but after seeing the anger burning behind the Time Lord's eyes, he clamped his lips together. River opted to stay quiet too, watching as the Doctor shut his eyes, holding the communicator close to his face.

"What the hell did you do?" The Doctor exclaimed angrily into the communicator.

"The Angels know one of them is in my head. As long as they think I have my eyes open, they won't attack. Right?" Katy suggested, a little unsurely.

"And the time crack? You know what will happen if it catches up with you!" The Doctor insisted.

"Just tell me which direction to head in" Katy retorted, hearing the Doctor muttering under his breath.

"Turn on the spot. When the communicator sounds like my screwdriver, that means you're facing the right way. Follow the sound. You have to start moving now" The Doctor advised her, as Katy did as she was told, putting one foot in front of the other.

Every time a twig would snap under her feet, or she heard a crunching sound from close by, her heart rate sped up, imagining what was out there. She had no way of knowing how close the time energy was behind her. For all she knew it could have been right on her heels and she wouldn't even know until it was too late.

"How far am I from the flight deck?" Katy inquired.

"It doesn't matter. Just keep your eyes shut and keep moving" The Doctor pushed.

"Pretty damn far then" Katy whispered, more to herself than him.

"It's never going to work" She heard River mumble from the other end of the line.

"What else have you got?! River! Tell me!" The Doctor shouted, with rage that Katy wasn't used to.

Even from the other side of the forest, she felt herself flinch at the Doctor's angry words, and could only imagine how River was feeling. She didn't think she had ever seen the Doctor as emotional as she had on that day.

"If you want to shout at someone, shout at me. River's not the one you're angry at" Katy muttered.

"Why did you do that? Why did you send the cleric first?" The Doctor couldn't help but ask, in a hushed tone.

"He's got a family" Katy answered, as if that should have explained everything.

"...I'm sending a bit of software to your communicator. It's a proximity detector. it'll beep if there's something in your way. You just manoeuvre till the beeping stops" The Doctor told her, as she heard the communicator do just that, realising there must have been something big in her way.

"That easy, huh?" Katy sighed, turning slightly to the left, before starting to walk again.

"How do we stop the time energy?" River inquired.

"Feed it" The Doctor replied, running a hand down his face.

"Feed it what?" River pushed.

"A big, complicated space-time event should shut it up for a while" The Doctor theorised, as Katy slowly realised what he was planning.

"Like what, for instance?" River insisted.

"Like me, for instance!" The Doctor cried, leaving River too shocked to reply.

"Don't you dare. Doctor, don't you dare!" Katy exclaimed, coming to a halt.

"Well, you're not here to stop me, are you?" The Doctor pointed out, as Katy grit her teeth together.

"What's that sound?" Amy's voice interjected, cutting through the tension, as they realised there was a beeping sound coming from Katy's communicator.

"It's a warning. There are Angels around you now, Katy" The Doctor informed her.

Terror gripped Katy as she realised she hadn't even sensed the creatures sneaking up on her. There was no telling how many were around her. Her heart felt as if it was seconds from beating out of her chest, as she took a tentative step forward, finding the beeping sound only got louder.

"Shit, shit, shit..." Katy murmured, under her breath, taking two steps back.

"You can do this. The Angels are scared and running, and right now they're not that interested in you. All you've got to do is walk like you can see" The Doctor told her, hearing that she was no longer moving.

"They'll know" Katy whispered into the communicator, in a small voice.

"You're not moving. You have to do this" The Doctor told her, but still, she didn't move, too scared to move a muscle.

"Now, Katy! Please, you have to do this!" The Doctor shouted, hitting the console in front of him.

Taking a deep breath, she took a step forward, doing her best to walk in a straight line. She carefully placed her feet firmly on the ground before walking on. She let out a small gasp when the communicator started to beep louder, realising one of the Angel's must have been right in front of her. With one hand balled into a fist at her side, she attempted to walk in the other direction, only managing a few steps before the communicator's beeping increased again. Twisting around to take off in the other direction, she found the beeping was even louder as a horrifying realisation hit her...the Angels had surrounded her. She cowered away from the sound of stone shifting, sensing the Angel's were reaching out to her. She was going to die—

And there was a bright light and arms were suddenly gripping onto her.

"Don't open your eyes. You're on the Flight Deck. The Doctor's here. I teleported you. See? Told you I could get it working in five minutes" River grinned, helping Katy off the teleport deck.

"River Song, I could bloody kiss you" Katy and the Doctor both said at the same time, making the other woman laugh.

"Oh, the possibilities" River smirked at the pair, as Amy rushed over to Katy's side, running her hand down her friend's back.

"You alright?" Amy inquired, earning a shaky nod from Katy.

"You had us all worried for a moment there, Ma'am" Marco's voice called out, as she gave him a small smile.

"The Angels are draining the last of the ship's power, which means...the shield's going to release" The Doctor announced, as the bulkhead shield rose up, revealing an array of Angel's outside.

"Angel Bob, I presume" The Doctor greeted, taking a step toward the nearest Angel.

"There is a rupture in time. The Angels calculate that if you throw yourself into it, it will close, and they will be saved" Angel Bob suggested.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Could do, could do that. But why?" The Doctor asked, quirking an eyebrow.

"Your friends will also be saved" Angel Bob pointed out.

"Well, there is that" The Doctor agreed, as River stormed forward.

"I've travelled in time. I'm a complicated space-time event too. Throw me in" River advised, making the Doctor scoff.

"Oh, be serious. Compared to me, these Angels are more complicated than you, and it would take every one of them to amount to me, so get a grip" The Doctor responded, as Katy stumbled forward, coming to stand on his other side.

"Then how about me? It doesn't get much more complicated than a time traveller drifting through the vortex" Katy insisted, as the Doctor twisted around to face her, placing his finger to her lips.

"No more being a martyr from you today. And like I said, get a grip" The Doctor told her.

"Doctor, I'm not letting you die here!" Katy cried, as the Doctor pulled his hand away.

"No, I mean it. All of you. Get a grip" The Doctor repeated.

"Oh, you genius" River grinned, before grabbing Katy's arm and dragging her toward the console.

"Wait, what?" Katy frowned, feeling completely lost.

"Thing is, Bob, the Angels are draining all the power from this ship. Every last bit of it. And you know what? I think they've forgotten where they're standing. I think they've forgotten the gravity of the situation..." The Doctor trailed off.

"Oh. Yep, thanks for the pun. Got you now" Katy nodded, as she reached out to grab the console.

"Or to put it another way, Angels...night-night" The Doctor smirked, before turning on his heel and rushing toward the others.

He took his place behind Katy, reaching out to place his hands next to hers on the console, ready to grab her if she lost her grip, knowing how weak she must have been. In the next second, the ship lost its artificial gravity and their feet were coming off the ground. Katy could hear things falling all around her, being swallowed up by the time crack closing in on them. Suddenly, the bright light that had surrounded them dimmed, as she heard the Doctor let out a sigh of relief from behind her. She was a little taken aback as she felt him wrap his arm around her shoulders for a moment, pulling her close to him, despite the way they were still hanging onto the console. He kept her close for a few more seconds before reluctantly pulling away, pulling himself up onto the console, and taking his sonic screwdriver out to try to restart the gravity once more. It was then that Katy realised something was wrong.

She could still feel the Weeping Angel in her mind.

"I don't understand, the Weeping Angel never existed, how can it still be holding on in here?" Katy questioned.

They had all managed to make it out of the ship, bruised and exhausted, but alive. But the problem of the Weeping Angel in her mind persisted. She could feel it clawing away, desperately trying to get out. The Doctor manoeuvred her to sit on a cold boulder on the windy beach, running through his options.

"The image of an Angel is an Angel. Like you said, you're a time traveller, you remembered the clerics who never existed. You remember the Angel that never existed...and that's enough for the image to stay in your mind" The Doctor sighed.

"So, you're saying I'm...stuck like this? Forever?" Katy panicked.

"No. No, I can help you. I can take away the memory. As long as you don't remember, the Angel can't hurt you" The Doctor explained, as Katy's forehead wrinkled.

"You've done it before? Wiped someone's memory?" Katy inquired, as pain flashed over the Doctor's features, glad that Katy didn't see.

"Yeah. I've done it before. But you'll have to let me in. You can resist" The Doctor went on, as he crouched down in front of her.

"Just don't go poking around in there, alright? A girl's gotta' keep some secrets to herself" Katy pointed out.

"...I could take some other memories of today away. If you wanted" The Doctor exclaimed, as her frown deepened.

"What, like River?" She guessed.

"I was thinking more...our kiss" The Doctor stated, in a hushed tone.

"Why?" She asked, in a teasing tone.

"Well, it's early days for you, I don't you to feel...uncomfortable..." The Doctor stuttered over his words, making Katy's grin grow wider.

"I'll keep the memory. I need to remember so I can warn any other poor girls about your wandering hands" Katy smirked, as the Doctor gaped at her.

"They do not wander! I mean what are hands supposed to do when you're kissing someone? They're just...there!" The Doctor cried, making her giggle.

"Well, I can always give you some pointers once I can open my eyes again" Katy shrugged.

"Yeah?" The Doctor grinned.

"Bloody hell, would you two just get on with it?" Amy called over to the pair, her arms crossed over her chest, shivering on the freezing beach.

Not needing to be told twice, Katy felt the Doctor place his fingers against her temple, as she opened up her mind to him. It was a strange sensation, feeling someone knocking around in her memories, but the Doctor didn't go anywhere he shouldn't have. Her memories of the day flashed behind her eyes, as she felt him find what he was looking for.

"Stop it" He murmured.

"I'm not doing anything" She mumbled, innocently.

"You're trying to step through into my mind. You know you shouldn't" The Doctor warned her, as she pursed her lips.

"You're not exactly stopping me...did I just see you kissing Martha?" Katy gaped, pulling back suddenly, her eyes shooting open.

"I did that for a completely valid reason!" The Doctor insisted.

"Ah, just like kissing me, right?" Katy teased, before her smile fell.

"Wait...what were you doing? Why were you looking through my memories?" Katy frowned, as the Doctor let out a sigh of relief.

"You asked me to. How do you feel now?" The Doctor inquired, as Katy mulled it over.

"Bruised. I've got a banging headache...but fine, I think. Why?" She replied.

"No reason" The Doctor smiled.

"Come to ask for the uniform back?" Katy suggested, watching as Marco walked over to her, appearing a little dazed.

"After all Doctor Song tells me you did today, I think you can keep it, Ma'am" Marco informed her.

"What do you remember?" Katy questioned, curiously.

"I'm not sure. It's all fuzzy. Like I'm watching my memories on a computer screen. They tell me we fought the Weeping Angels?" Marco exclaimed.

"We did. But they fell into a track in time and now never existed. Simple, really" Katy shrugged, with a small grin.

"Oh, right. Simple" Marco nodded, sharing her expression.

"Doctor Song tells me you saved my life today" Marco pointed out.

"I did the right thing for once. That's all" Katy murmured.

"Well, regardless, Ma'am...thank you" Marco announced, before giving her a proud salute.

"Do me a favour though, Marco? Take some leave. Go see your kids" Katy advised, as he gave a slow nod.

"I will" He promised, before marching away.

She spotted River Song sauntering toward her, cuffed hands in front of her, a group of clerics keeping a watchful gaze on her. She wasn't sure what River had done, but clearly, it led to everyone trusting her very little. So, why did Katy feel the exact opposite?

"You're looking better" River exclaimed.

"I'm gonna' take that as a compliment" Katy huffed, as River came to sit beside her.

"I wanted to come say goodbye. It might be a while before we see each other again...or no time at all. It's hard to tell when it comes to you" River pointed out.

"I think the same could be said about you, River" Katy exclaimed.

"I heard what you said earlier. About why you saved the cleric, that he had a family. It sounded like you were suggesting you don't" River went on, as Katy gave a slight shrug.

"Mine have all been dead for a long time" Katy sighed.

"You have no idea how wrong you are. The Doctor, Amy, me...whether you like it or not, you have a new family now. One that needs you to live" River told her, as a smile grew on Katy's lips despite herself.

"Can I trust him, River?" Katy asked.

"One day, you will trust the Doctor more than anyone else in this world. Ah, you and him...you had the best of times. Just wait until he takes you to the Eye of Orion. It's one of your favourites" River explained, as Katy's smile fell from her face.

"...You said had the best of times? Past tense?" Katy realised, as River quickly looked away from her when her handcuffs started to beep.

"Oh, I think that's my ride" River announced, standing to her feet.

"River. What did you mean?" Katy insisted.

"You should stay away from him" River mumbled, so quietly Katy almost couldn't hear.

"Who? The Doctor?" Katy frowned, but before River could answer, she was whisked away in a flurry of sand, beaming up to the ship overhead.

Katy leaned back against the console seat, closing her eyes as the TARDIS hummed all around her. She was still thinking about what River had said, wondering who the mysterious woman was talking about. Her head started to ache soon after, a drumming sound encompassing her mind, as she ran a hand down her face.

"You're angry with me" Katy announced, as the Doctor came to a halt, his hands hoovering above a lever on the console.

"You almost died today. Twice...no, make that three times. Maybe four?" The Doctor pointed out.

"It's not like I want to die" Katy retorted.

"It's not like you want to live either" The Doctor accused, as Katy sat upright, looking at the back of his head.

"Well, I'm not exactly used to being around people who...might actually care about me" Katy admitted, as the Doctor twisted around to face her.

"Is it really so hard to imagine?" The Doctor asked, as she shrugged her shoulders.

"Look, I promise to not sacrifice myself for like...at least a week, yeah? How about that?" Katy suggested, pushing herself up from the seat.

"Two weeks" The Doctor stated.

"Sure. I won't be here in two weeks, so you won't even know" Katy pointed out, with a grin.

"Like I said before, trouble!" The Doctor exclaimed, pointing his finger in her face.

"So...that kiss today, it kinda' seemed like that wasn't the first time we've done that. Not for you at least" Katy huffed, as a flash of sadness cast over the Doctor's expression.

"That was...we haven't...you're sure?" The Doctor frowned, as Katy raised an eyebrow.

"I'm pretty sure that I'd remember, Doc" Katy laughed.

"Oh. Oh. Blimey, it really is early for you" The Doctor murmured.

"What does that mean? Are you saying kissing is something we do?" Katy gaped, as the Doctor waved his hands up in the air.

"Spoilers. Lots of spoilers. Stop" The Doctor warned, causing her to pout.

"I want to go home" Amy suddenly announced, as the two jumped back a pace, not having heard her enter the room.

"Okay," The Doctor nodded, with a serious expression.

"No, not like that. I just, I just want to show you something. You're running from River. I'm running too" Amy admitted.

"From what?" Katy inquired, curiously.

"It's actually something I want to show the Doctor. Alone. Sorry" Amy told her, as Katy's frown deepened, but she raised her hands up in mock defence, nonetheless.

"Fine. I need a shower anyway. I'm not so sure about this uniform anymore" Katy mumbled, pulling at the collar of her clerics uniform.

Katy wandered from the never-ending corridors of the TARDIS, patting her wet hair with a towel, having realised she didn't have a hairdryer in her room. There were dozens of bedrooms dotted all around her, but every time she placed her hand on one of the handles, she would quickly pull it back. She had a feeling some of the rooms belonged to people who used to travel with the Doctor. For all she knew, some of them might not even be alive anymore. The idea of intruding in their room felt far too much like walking over a grave. Her brows knitted together as the lights above her head started to flash, growing brighter at the end of the corridor.

"I'm guessing you want me to follow, huh?" Katy exclaimed.

She followed the TARDIS' bright lights for a few minutes, until she eventually found herself back in the console room, more confused than ever. Why did the TARDIS bring her back there?

"Doctor? Amy?" Katy called out but received no reply.

"Anyone home?" Katy insisted, realising the pair must have left the TARDIS.

Walking up the stairs to the console, she reached up to pull down the screen to her level, wanting to look outside and see where they had landed. All of a sudden, the screen turned on without her even having to raise a finger. It was then that she realised the TARDIS wanted her to see what was happening outside.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me" Katy gaped, her eyes narrowing as the two people on the screen came into view.

She hoped Amy had a damn good explanation for why she had her tongue down the Doctor's throat.
