Note: Hello and welcome to another year of Densi mber! Hope you enjoy what I have to offer this year.
This one takes place, well, whenever. (I couldn't think of anything nice to take place in this year, too depressing for me).
'Sooo, not only did you buy, how many lights again? But you also got all these big lawn ornaments? Are we competing in some neighborhood decorating competition or something?' Kensi asked, a bit dumbfounded by all the decorations Deeks had brought home.
'I thought we'd go big this year! Plus, you can't go wrong without a big inflatable Santa!' Deeks replied.
'I hate to ask, but how many times this year did you watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation? Because that's usually where you get these decorating ideas from.'
'About 3 or 4 times already.'
'And I really hope you plan on getting help with those lights.'
'The boys are coming by later to help put them up. Not to worry, we'll be very careful not to fall off the ladder, or become really tangled up in the lights.' Deeks reasurred her. 'We can put up some of these lawn ornaments!'
'Okay. Just hope we don't get any complaints about tacky decorations.' Kensi finished.
Later.
'Geez, you trying to get this house seen from space? Because this is a lot of lights!' Callen remarked.
'Well maybe. And maybe I just like having a lot of lights on the house.' Deeks replied while stringing up some lights.
'Sure hope you have a good handle on that inflatable Santa. Because those things can blow away on a windy day really easily. I oughta know. I had 1 that sprung a leak and blew away 1 windy night. We had no idea where it went.' Sam rang in.
'Until the next day when Hetty starting grumbling about finding a deflated Santa in her swimming pool. You should've seen how uncomfortable he looked when he had to say that it may have been his, I thought he was gonna wet himself!' Callen chuckled.
'Hey, she can be very scary when she's upset!'
'Okay okay. As amusing as all that sounds, I tied down my Santa very well. It ain't gonna blow away. Now let's get lights on the other window!' Deeks finished.
At the end of the day, there were lights everywhere, big candy canes and wooden reindeer scattered across the front lawn, and 1 big inflated Santa. All looked good and festive, albeit a little tacky looking.
Unfortunately, a sudden wind surge that night blew off a few misplaced lights, knocked over a couple of the reindeer and sent poor Santa flying.
The next morning.
'Okay, it's possible I was too distracted yesterday to check to make sure some of these were properly in the ground. But I know I had that Santa tied down! You saw me do it!' Deeks insisted.
'Yeah um, if the wind is strong enough, it's not really gonna matter how secure it is, it'll blow away anyway. At least that's what I've heard.' Kensi replied.
'Well, should we put all the stuff that was knocked over back in?'
'How about we move it all to the back yard? That way, hopefully no one sees it?'
They began moving it all to the backyard.
'You got all this stuff cheap at the Christmas lot, I take it?' Kensi asked.
'I'm a sucker for a cheap sale.' Deeks replied.
At work.
'Hey boys, what's kicking?' Deeks asked.
'Oh you gotta hear this! 1 of the neighborhood inflatable Santas blew away last night and landed on Granger's car! He was grumbling about it with Hetty just before you got here.' Callen eagerly responded.
'Say, that wouldn't have been yours, right?' Sam asked.
'What? Noooo, no no! I tied mine down, it stayed!'
'Sure hope you're right. Because that would definitely be 1 awkward conversation! (laughs).'
'Aw man, I'm so dead.' Deeks thought in despair.
