A/N:

This chapter will wrap-up the main events of the Mortis story arc. I want to thank Mandalore the Survivor for contributing the idea of including a certain set of organisms that you will see, and I will explain what they were at the end of the chapter.

Present Day

Aurora's POV

I was sitting on the ground outside of the ship trying to come to my senses on what had happened, while Anakin and Obi-Wan discussed what was going on and what events had also taken place a few moments prior. Ahsoka, on the other hand, was working on fixing the ship so we could get off this planet.

I wasn't even thinking. I was just absorbed in my own thoughts…in my own point in time…oblivious to the world around me…forever changed and utterly startled by the knowledge I had learned and the people I had met.

"Well, do you want the bad news or the really bad news?" Ahsoka asked when she finally came up from the depths of the ship which snapped me out of my trance and making me slowly stand up.

"Well, let's try the bad news." Obi-Wan began. "But laced with a little optimism."

"We've got two cracked shilo pins, a busted power converter, the engines should be fired twice to dump debris, and the backup vents need charging." She explains.

"Sounds terribly downbeat." Obi-Wan replied with a nod. "Can it be fixed?"

"I can reroute the primary initiator, weld the dampening vents, and that might give us enough power to leave the atmosphere. After that, I have no guarantees she'll hold together." Ahsoka continued.

"We'll take our chances." Obi-Wan said in agreement and Ahsoka nodded before climbing down to fix the ship. "Better than staying here."

"Where are you going?" I quietly asked as I crossed my arms as Anakin took out one of the speeder bikes that were next to the ship.

"To see The Father. I'm not convinced that the son will be contained here without our help. Perhaps we should make a stand." Anakin explained.

"Anakin." Obi-Wan began in protest.

"If I don't get The Father's blessing to leave; it'll haunt me forever." Anakin replied before he got on one of the bikes and drove away.

I sighed in both exhaustion and frustration and sat back down on the ground again, but this time, I pulled my knees into my chest. I also put my forehead on my knees and closed my eyes to try and block out any thoughts I currently had about the situation that was going on. I've must've been in this position for a while because I lost track of time.

"Are you alright?" Obi-Wan asked making me open my eyes and look up at him as he stood right in front of me.

I just nodded in response.

He sighed before he sat down in front of me.

"Aurora, I may have not known you long, but I know that you are not acting like yourself…what's wrong?" He asked with sincerity.

I shook my head. "Everything is hitting me all at once…my mother lied to me my whole life about who I was…what I was…where I came from…who's to say she's even my real mother."

My voice was so quiet and small it almost came out as a whisper.

"If I know anything about your mother," He began. "Is that she loves you more than you could ever imagine, and she would give everything in her power to keep you protected and safe."

I turned to look at him. "Even by lying to me."

He nodded. "Even by lying to you."

I sighed and put my head in my hands, and in response he put a hand on my left shoulder.

"It's going to be ok Aurora, I promise." He replied quietly before I heard him stand up. "I'm going to go check on Ahsoka."

I nodded as I watched him go back into the ship. I stayed sitting for a while, but eventually, I got up and began to walk into the ship.

"Your Royal Highness." A voice from behind me said and I quickly snapped my head around to see The Father standing in front of me.

Almost immediately Ahsoka and Obi-Wan came running out of the ship.

"Where's Anakin?" Obi-Wan asked.

"He came to me for guidance, but at the crossroad, only he can choose. The force will be his guide now." The Father explained.

"I don't like this." Obi-Wan replied.

My expression that was somber and frail for the last few hours darkened within seconds. "What have you done?"

"I have done nothing. I am merely letting the will of the force take shape." The Father continued.

"Where has he gone?" Obi-Wan asked.

The Father sighed. "To the Well of the Dark Side."

"Anakin has gone to confront your son, hasn't he?" Obi-Wan asked.

The Father nodded. "Deep within this planet all that is dark is channeled."

"And how do I get there?" Obi-Wan questioned again.

The Father shook his head. "You cannot interfere."

I rolled my eyes. "The way I see it, if we were not supposed to interfere, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, and I wouldn't be here in the first place."

Obi-Wan nodded. "Both of you, look after the ship. I'm going to find Anakin."

He then grabbed another Speeder-bike and went after Anakin, I glanced to Ahsoka who shrugged in response the turned around expecting to see The Father, but he also vanished into thin air. I turned back to look at Ahsoka.

"Want to help me put the ship back together?"

I sighed. "Do I have a choice?"

She shook her head, and I rolled my eyes as we both got back into the ship. For the first time in my life, I can happily say, I'm glad about something Death Watch taught me. When I was still with Death Watch, one of the things I first learned was to fix ships in case there needed to be a quick getaway/or if you were stranded in an enemy territory. My aunt distinctly made me remember to always keep the Astromech on hand…and when there wasn't an Astromech on hand to fix the ship like right now (Since Artoo and Geenine are both aboard The Resolute with Rex, Cody, and Fox). While I will say that I do think it is much easier to have an Astromech fix the ship, but on the other hand…I don't mind getting my hands dirty.

"You're good at this…hand me that wrench." Ahsoka said and I passed her the wrench.

I smiled. "My aunt taught me a lot. Had to learn somewhere."

Ahsoka just smiled in response as she began to tap into the ship's communication device. In the beginning we heard nothing, but then after a few more tries, we finally heard static indicating that the system was back up and running.

"Yes!" We both shouted simultaneously.

"This is Jedi shuttle 634 calling on all secure channels for help. Do you read? I repeat: We are stranded and need immediate evac. Come in, please!" Ahsoka said into the system. We waited a few minutes, but nothing came back.

I sighed. "We did everything we could."

A few minutes later, Obi-Wan's voice came through the system.

"Aurora, Ahsoka, come in please. Can you hear me?" Obi-Wan said.

Ahsoka answered. "Yes, Master? Any success with finding Anakin?"

"No, quite the opposite." Obi-Wan replied.

"What do you mean?" I asked in confusion.

"Anakin has joined with The Son." Obi-Wan said with a sigh, making both Ahsoka and I look at each other in shock and fear. "Do not engage him."

"But…" both of us began.

"DO AS I SAY!" Obi-Wan said in a demanding voice. "Listen to me, you have to disable the ship."

Ahsoka frowned. "But Ro and I just finished putting the ship back together!"

Obi-Wan sighed. "Ahsoka, please listen. We must prevent Anakin and The Son from leaving, I'm sending you and Aurora my coordinates now."

"Yes Master." Ahsoka said with a sigh as the transmission ended. "Unplug everything."

I nodded and quickly started to unplug everything, and that's when the both of us heard a Speeder-bike outside. Ahsoka and I quickly glanced at each other before he hid. From our positions we could see Anakin walk on board the ship, and the realization that with the Speeder-bike Anakin drove here and the one that was unused, we had one for each of us. Ahsoka and I quickly ran out from our hiding spots, each grabbed a bike, and both started riding off at top speed.

"He's going nowhere without one of these." I explained to Ahsoka who was keeping pace with me."

She nodded pulling a piece of the ship out of one of her pockets before tossing it over to me. "And without that…I'll meet you at The Father's."

I nodded. "Copy that."

Ahsoka eventually pulled off the path and started going a different direction, which led to The Father's monastery, I on the other hand, was still going in the original direction, as I was going after Obi-Wan. The speed I was going, was rather fast, as I was worried as to what I'd find when I saw a large dark object standing in my way. I frowned in confusion as I got closer, and the next thing I knew, I was sent flying off my bike. I landed on my side, but as I got up, I felt a sharp pain in my left side indicating that I'd had broken a rib, I also felt blood trickle down my face indicating that I'd cut my forehead, which also indicated that I'd be spending a few hours in the bacta-tank. I glanced back to my bike which was back to standing up right and I slowly started walking back over to it when I heard a clicking sound making me rather alert. The clicking sound then got louder, and that's when I realized it was more than one clicking sound. I quickly activated my vambraces and turned around to see 3 giant bug-like looking creatures standing before me with staffs in their hands. I began to slowly back up towards the bike, and every step I took backward, they took a step forward. I was petrified, in my whole life I'd have never seen creatures like this. Their staffs were in attack position, which even made me more terrified as they were not only bigger than me by quite a bit, but there was also more of them then there was me.

The creatures then let out a sharp screeching sound before they slowly began to back away. I tilted my head in confusion as to why they looked at me like they were going to attack me, but then slowly back off. That's when I realized that they must be servants of The Father, and they realized that I am force-sensitive…but if I wasn't…they'd probably have me pierced through one of those spikes.

To avoid any altercations Eventually, I came across a large volcanic hole, that was like the environment on Mustafar. I surveyed the area, and eventually laid my eyes on what looked like a man climbing the rocks to climb out of the hole. I rolled my eyes before driving the bike down the hole so that I was side-by-side with him.

"Need a hand?" I asked with humor.

"I can't believe you think this is funny." Obi-Wan sighed in annoyance.

"Why? You did a pretty good job climbing up." I explained and rolled his eyes.

"What took you so long?" He asked before he jumped from the rocks onto the back of my bike.

"Don't be bitter…what would you do without me?" I asked before I handed him the piece of the ship Ahsoka gave me. "Here, we did as you said. That shuttle is going nowhere without it."

Obi-Wan nodded. "Good, that gives us some time to rescue Anakin."

I nodded before piloting the Speeder-bike out of the hole and in the direction of the monastery. Eventually, with the speed I was driving, we caught up with Ahsoka, who was well on her way to the monastery as well. Eventually, both of us landed and we were met by both Anakin and The Father.

"Master!" Ahsoka exclaimed. "Are you alright?"

Anakin nodded. "I think so, but we must stop the son once and for all."

"We have little time, and you'll get only one chance." The Father began before turning to Anakin. "You know what you must do."

"How quaint, my own personal send-off." The Son said with a dark humor as he landed in his human form before us.

"I ask you one last time. Do not leave, my son." The Father requested.

"You have no power to keep me, old man. You must understand by now, this planet is not my destiny." The Son explained which made me frown.

"What you will do will destroy all that is good. I beg you, restrain yourself and stay." The Father practically begged.

"I cannot." The Son automatically replied.

"Who would've thought I'd be in my own personal version of a HoloDrama, but with actual Gods being the actors?" I practically murmured.

"And then it shall be. I love you, my son." The Father explained with sincerity.

The Son raised an eyebrow. "Do you?"

Anakin the immediately ignited his lightsaber and began to attack The Son, but The Son blocked his attacks by using the force. He then grabbed Anakin by the throat and began to choak him which then prompted Obi-Wan and Ahsoka to ignite their lightsabers, and me to ignite my vambraces. He then threw Anakin across the floor, before using the force to take our weapons, before using the force to push the three of us against a wall.

"Alright Ro." Ahsoka said with a moan. "I get how you felt when you broke your back."

I sighed as I quickly helped her up. "That was nothing, you should've seen the giant bug creatures I saw earlier."

The Father then pulled out the sword Obi-Wan retrieved from the altar earlier.

"I held hope that you could resist the dark side. But I see now, there is no going back." The Father began as he pushed the sword through his chest.

"Father!" The Son exclaimed in anger. "No! What have you done? It did not have to be this way."

The Father weakly nodded from his position on the ground. "Yes, my child, it did. You and I are tied together, and your strength runs through me. This way, I take your power."

"Please, don't die." The Son sincerely begged.

The Father half-smiled. "I always knew there was good in you."

Anakin then walked over to both, ignited his lightsaber, and pierced it through The Son's chest killing him.

"And so, you have betrayed me, father." The Son weakly replied before dying in The Father's arms.

"It is done. And now I die, my heart broken, this is the role you will play." The Father explained to Anakin.

"And what is that?" Anakin asked.

"You are the chosen one. You have brought balance to this world. Stay on this path, and you will do it again for the galaxy. But beware your... Heart." The Father explained before he literally vanished into thin air.

Just then, the atmosphere around us began to change. The floating rocks began to crumble, the ground began to shake, and the huge glowing crystal-ball-like structure that was a the top of The Father's monastery burst, making the light that was so bright unbearable to see. I closed my eyes due to how bright it was, but the next thing I knew, I heard a beeping sound.

"General Skywalker, come in!" A familiar voice said. "General Skywalker!"
As I opened my eyes, I looked to Ahsoka who was sitting next to me, and we were back on the shuttle, back in space, but instead of seeing a diamond shaped planet we saw The Resolute.

"We read you, Rex. Can you hear me?"

Rex nodded from his transmission. "Yes, sir, standing by. We were worried. You were off the scopes there for a moment."

Anakin looked at Rex in shock. "A moment? We've been gone more than a moment, Rex."

Rex tilted his head in confusion. "Sir, I don't understand. You'll need to explain."

Anakin let out a huff of amusement. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you. We're coming in now."

Anakin then began to pilot the ship into the docking bay of The Resolute.

"You okay Ro?" Ahsoka asked as she glanced to me.

I looked down at my legs and smiled. "Yeah, I may want a couple hours in the bacta-tank just to be sure."

"That makes two of us." She replied.

"Three." Obi-Wan nodded in agreement.

"Four." Anakin agreed.

"But look on the Brightside." I began.

"What?" Ahsoka asked in confusion.

I smiled before grabbing my blasters out of the holster around my waist. "They gave me my blasters back."

A/N

If you couldn't figure out what the bug-like creatures were that Aurora encountered, they were the Kiliks. Again, a big shoutout to Mandalore the Survivor for letting me use the idea of using the Kiliks in this chapter of the story, and for contributing to the story. If anyone has any questions, comments, or suggestions as to what they want to happen or any ideas they may have about the future of this story, please message me or fill free to comment their ideas. The beginning of next chapter will take place after they get on The Resolute, but that won't be the entire focus of the chapter.

Thanks,

The Author.
