Mizu sat on the floor in Lucy's bedroom as her father and brother made a mess. Her father gave her some crayons and she started drawing on the walls of the room, trying to make pretty pictures for Lucy. Suddenly the door to the bedroom opened up and in walked Lucy. She looked at them horrified.
Lucy: "My bedroom!"
She then kicked Natsu and Happy to a wall and then looked over at Mizu. Her eyes widened, but she knew she couldn't be mad at the seven-year-old, with a father like Natsu.
Lucy: "Natsu! Why is your daughter drawing on my walls!?"
Natsu: "She got bored and wanted to draw you pretty pictures."
Lucy: "I have paper, why couldn't you give her some of that?"
Natsu: "Oh, like these?"
He grabbed some papers from a desk and Lucy freaked out and kicked him. He looked at her shocked and confused. Once Lucy got dressed, she sat on a chair with her legs crossed as she glared at Natsu. Mizu was now drawing on some paper that Lucy gave her.
Lucy: "Look, I just moved in and I'm not ready for guests. So how about you two just drink your tea, say thanks, and get out? You got that?"
Natsu and Happy cringed a little at Lucy's harsh tone.
Natsu: "Talk about cold-hearted."
Happy: "Ice cold."
Lucy: "Watch it cat."
Natsu; "Hey, I know. Why don't you show us all those weird little key guys that you like to collect?"
Lucy: "For your information, they're called Celestial spirits."
Mizu: "Oh, how many of these spirits do you have contracts with?"
Lucy: "Six so far. Not to brag or anything, but I even have a couple of different types of them. The silver keys are the ones that you can find in the magic shops. I've got Horologium the Clock. Crux the Southern Cross. And Lyra the Harp. But the golden ones are super rare. There are twelve total, and they open the gates of the zodiac. I've got Taurus the Golden Bull. Aquarius the Water Beare. And that last one is Cancer the Giant Crab."
Natsu, Happy, and Mizu looked at her shocked as they grinned and drooled over the crap part.
Natsu: "Giant crab!"
Happy: "Giant crab legs!"
Mizu giggled and nodded her head. Lucy looked at them annoyed.
Lucy: "I never met anyone obsessed with food as you three are. Oh, that reminds me. I need to sign a contract with the key I bought in Hargeon. I don't suppose you fellas are interested in seeing how a celestial wizard makes a contract with a celestial spirit.
Mizu giggled and nodded her head, getting excited, while Happy and Natsu started to whisper to each other, but they were too loud.
Happy: "I hope it's not some grotty blood pact."
Natsu: "Well, it sounds like a pain in the butt to me."
Lucy frowned as she didn't look at them. Mizu giggled and nodded her head, agreeing with her father and brother.
Lucy: "Uh, I can hear you, so leave my butt out of this."
She then held up the key and Natsu, Happy, and Mizu sat back down to watch.
Lucy: "I call upon thee in the world of the celestial spirits. I beckon you to my side at once. Pass through the gate! Open! Gate of Canis Minor! Come Nichola!"
A golden light appeared and out came a small white creature with black ears and a long orange nose. It looked like a small snowman. Natsu and Happy gasped as Mizu looked at the creature in awe.
Happy/Natsu: "Nice try."
Lucy: "Shut up! I meant to do that!"
She then picked up the wall creature and started hugging it.
Lucy: "Aw, you are such a cutie patootie! It doesn't take much magic power to get these little guys through the gate, so many wizards keep them as pets."
Mizu walked over to Lucy and started petting the small snowman as her father and brother whispered to each other, not so quiet.
Happy: "You know this whole pet thing doesn't sit well with me."
Natsu: "Not with a weird master like Loony here."
Lucy: "My name is Lucy, and I can still hear you. Why is your daughter nicer to me, than you guys are."
Natsu shrugged his shoulder, and Lucy started working on her contract with her celestial spirit. It went by so quickly and the boys looked shocked and a bit annoyed that it was boring.
Lucy: "Great. Well, that just about does it."
The boys and Mizu looked at her shocked and confused.
Happy: "That was pretty easy."
Mizu: "Yep!"
Lucy: "It may seem silly to you, but it's really important. You see, a celestial wizard's contract relies on the promise that's made between the wizard and the spirit. Which is why I make it a point to always keep my promise. Got it?"
Natsu nodded his head but then smirked. Lucy didn't see this.
Lucy: "Okay, now I just need to come up with a name."
They looked at her confused, because they already had a name.
Happy; "Isn't it Nichola?"
Lucy: "No, that's the species. Oh, I know! Come here Plue!"
She held out her arms and Plue waddled over to Lucy. She hugged the spirit and Natsu looked at her confused.
Natsu: "Plue, huh?"
Lucy: "I think it's like the cutest name ever! Right little Plue?"
Mizu giggled and nodded her head as she pulled out her stuffed dragon and held him up. They looked over at her confused.
Mizu: "Igneel!"
Natsu smiled, happy that his daughter named her stuffed dragon after his father. He patted her on the head before looking over at Lucy.
Natsu: "Are you sure Plue's cool with that name?"
She looked over at Natsu confused.
Lucy: "Why wouldn't be be?"
Happy: "So even though his sign is the Little Dog, he doesn't bark? That's kind of weird."
Lucy: "Well, I don't hear you meowing over there, buddy.'
Just then Plue got out of Lucy's arms and started doing a weird little dance. Mizu giggled and started coping with the small snowman. Natsu grinned and gave Plue a thumbs up.
Natsu: "Oh man! You're right about that Plue!"
Lucy looked at Natsu shocked and confused. Mizu stopped dancing and giggled.
Lucy: "You can understand him!?"
He grabbed Plue and hugged him as Natsu stared at her. She looked at him confused and weirded out.
Lucy: "What is your deal?"
He then grinned and stood up.
Natsu: "Alright, then it's settled. Lucy is going to be part of our team!"
Mizu grinned and got excited.
Happy: "Go, team!"
Lucy looked at him shocked and confused.
Lucy: "Your team?"
Happy: "Aye! Even though everybody in the guild is allied with one another, some members who get along really well get together and form teams within the guide. That way jobs that may be too hard for one person to take can get done by a team."
Lucy grinned and got excited. Hana smiled and got excited as well.
Lucy: "Awesome! Let's do it!"
They high-five each other and Natsu smirked.
Natsu: "Cool, so you're going to work with us?"
Lucy: "Yep, you have my word!"
Natsu smirked, knowing that his plan worked.
Happy: "Right on!"
Natsu: "Okay team, then let's get to work! I've got our first job right here!"
He held up a piece of paper and Lucy looked flustered. Mizu looked at her father confused, wondering when he picked a job.
Lucy: "It's all happening so fast. Let me see what you got there!"
She snatched the piece of paper from Natsu's hands, and he looked away with a smirk. Mizu looked up at her father confused.
Lucy: "So, it's in Shirotsume, huh? No way, 20,000 jewels just for taking a book from a guy named Duke Everlue!?"
Natsu: "Should be a piece of cake."
Lucy smirked and nodded her head. She then read more on the piece of paper.
Lucy; "please note, Everlue's a dirty old man who's currently looking for maids with blond hair!?"
Mizu looked shocked by this and looked over at her father and brother who were giggling to themselves.
Natsu: "We know a blond-haired girl, don't we?"
Happy: "Yep! And I'm sure we can find her a maid's uniform."
Lucy glared at them, pissed off that they tricked her like this.
Mizu: "Oh, can I join her, Daddy!?"
Natsu's eyes widened as he looked down at his daughter shocked and scared.
Natsu: "NO!"
Mizu pouted and crossed her arms. Lucy chuckled; she couldn't stay mad at how cute the little seven-year-old was.

The group was in a carriage driving to their destination. Natsu were NOT having such a great time. Natsu lay on the ground as he groaned. Mizu was sitting on the bench with her brother sitting next to her.
Lucy: "Are you enjoying your carriage ride today, master? Anything I can get for you?"
Natsu: "I could use a barf bag right now."
Happy: "I'm playing the part of the master so I should be giving the orders!"
Lucy: "Shut it you stupid feline!"
She sighed before looking down at Natsu.
Lucy: "Oh, hey, Natsu?"
He groaned and looked up at Lucy.
Natsu: "What's up?"
Lucy: "I was just wondering why you picked me to join your team."
Natsu: "Because you seem so nice."
Lucy looked down at Natsu shocked and she blushed a little bit.
Natsu: "But you are just so weird.'
Lucy stopped blushing as she glared at Natsu pissed off and annoyed that he was calling HER the weird one.
Lucy: "Anyway, I'm stoked about my first real job. I know I'm going to rock it."
They looked over at her confused, because she was pissed about it earlier.
Happy: "Really? I thought you were upset about it."
Lucy: "Yeah, I was mad at first. But if this perv likes pretty girls, I'm perfect for the job, right?"
Happy; "All of you humans kind of look alike to me."
Lucy looked at Happy annoyed but ignored that comment.
Lucy; "I think it's time we worked out our pay scale. Since I'm doing all the work, we should split the reward 80, 10, and 10."
Mizu: "You only want ten percent?"
Lucy: "I'm 80!"
Natsu groaned before looking up at Lucy.
Natsu: "The difference between us. You got to pay rent...I got a kid to take care of."
Lucy looked down at Natsu shocked, but she knew he had a point. Natsu had a kid to take care of, so he needed to make sure he had food in his house at all times so his kid didn't go hungry. Even buying her clothes. She sighed and nodded her head.

They finally got off the cart and were now walking down the street of Shinotume. Natsu walked slowly as he was exhausted. His daughter clung to his pants as she walked along side of him
Natsu: "That's the last time I'm riding in one of those."
Mizu: "You say that every time, Daddy."
He groaned and nodded his head.
Natsu: "Man I'm starving."
Lucy: "Can't you just eat your own fire?"
Natsu: "Oh yeah, that's a great idea. Why don't you just eat Plue and your cow while we're at it."
She looked at him shocked as Mizu giggled at her father.
Lucy: "Why would I do something like that?"
Mizu: "Dragon slayers can't eat their own magic."
Natsu smiled and nodded his head as Lucy looked shocked. Soon they came across a restaurant and Natsu got excited.
Natsu: "Whoa, let's top and get a bite!"
Lucy: "Nah, I'm alright. But you three enjoy."
She walked away and they looked at her confused.
Natsu: "What is it with her? We should be eating together as a team."
Happy: "Oh, well."
Natsu nodded his head and picked up his daughter. They walked over to the restaurant and ordered some food and started eating.
Natsu: "Be sure that you save all the fat stuff for Lucy."
Happy: "Yeah, from the looks of her, that's what she likes the most."
Lucy walked over to them and heard what Happy said about her. She looked at him annoyed.
Lucy: "Hold it right there cat. What the heck is that supposed to mean?"
They stopped eating and looked over at Lucy to see she was wearing a maid costume. They looked at her shocked. Lucy blushed as she got nervous.
Lucy: "Come on, don't be shy boys. You know I look super cute in this uniform."
They looked at her shocked before they turned around and started whispering to each other, again loudly.
Happy: "What do we do? We were joking about the costume, but Lucy took it seriously."
Natsu: "I guess we're just going to have to go along with it. Don't say anything okay?"
Lucy frowned and looked at the boys, annoyed. Mizu giggled, finding it funny.
Lucy: "I can hear you."
They paid for the food and left to head up to the client's house. Once there, they sat down to talk to the man.
Kaby: "My name is Kaby Melon. Pleased to meet you."
Happy: "He said Melon!"
Natsu: "Oh man, you have a tasty name!"
Lucy looked at the boys shocked and upset, while Mizu just drooled and nodded her head, agreeing with her father and brother.
Lucy: "Quit being rude guys!"
Kaby; "Don't worry. I get that a lot. Well, first things first. Allow me to tell you about the job. It's pretty straightforward really. Duke Everlue has a book called DayBreak in his possession. I would like you to burn it for me."
Lucy looked at him shocked and confused. Natsu just smirked.
Natsu: "No problem. I'll burn the whole place if you want."
Mizu looked over at her father shocked and worried.
Mizu: "Daddy no!"
Lucy: "Yeah, I am not going to be arrested for arson because of the two of you!"
She then looked over at Kaby.
Lucy: "May I ask why sir?"
Natsu; "For 200,00 jewels, who the heck cares?"
Kaby: "The reward has been raised to two million."
They all gasped as they looked at him shocked.
Kaby: "I'm sorry, I thought you were aware the amount had changed."
Natsu: "Two million split three ways? Wow! I stink at math but that's a lot!"
Happy: "Wait, I got it! I got one million. You get one million, and then Lucy gets all the rest!"
Lucy looked at Happy shocked and annoyed, because that would leave her with nothing.
Natsu: "That sure sounds fair to me."
Mizu giggled and nodded her head.
Lucy: "But that leaves me with nothing!"
She punched Natsu in the face before looking over at Kaby. Mizu teared up and looked at her father worried.
Lucy: "Why did you raise the reward?"
Kaby: "Well, because it means that much to me. That book must be destroyed. No matter the cost."
Natsu chuckled evilly and Mizu looked at her father confused.
Natsu: "Oh yeah! I am fired up now! Let's do this!"
He picked up his daughter and ran out of the mansion. Lucy looked at them shocked.
Lucy: "Hey! Wait a sec!"
She got up and ran after Natsu and Happy. They took off to Everlue's mansion.
(Time skip brought to you by a chibi Natsu carrying a Chibi Mizu as he ran)
Lucy was standing outside of the Everlue mansion still wearing the maid costume. Natsu, Mizu, and Happy were in the forest by the house.
Lucy: "Excuse me. I heard you had an opening for a maid position. Hello?"
Natsu, Happy, and Mizu poked their heads out from behind some trees.
Natsu: "Don't screw up, okay?"
Happy: "Break a leg."
Mizu: "What they said."
Lucy nodded her head when suddenly the ground started to crack from below her and a giant oversized maid jumped out from beneath Lucy. She looked up at the maid shocked and scared.
Maid: "So you're a maid?"
Lucy nodded her head, sweating bullets.
Maid: "I assume you're here cause you saw the ad that the master placed in the paper."
Lucy nodded her head and suddenly an oversized man jumped up from the ground.
Man: "Boyoyoy! Did I hear someone say, master?"
He looked over at Lucy, who sweated bullets, nervous as hell.
Man: "Let's see here."
Lucy: "Well, I sure hope you like what you see."
She tried to play nice as the man looked at her.
Man: "I'll pass. Now scram ugly."
Lucy gasped as she looked at the man shocked and pissed off. The maid picked her up.
Maid: "You heard the man. Get going ugly."
Man: "Sorry, but a man of my standing has certain standards to uphold."
The next thing Lucy knew four more maids jumped out from the ground and surrounded the man.
Man: "That's why I only hire the fairest of the fair."
Lucy looked shocked and annoyed. The maid then flung her into the woods and Natsu looked down at her annoyed. Lucy sat in front of a tree sulking about being called ugly. Mizu patted Lucy's back as Natsu stood in front of them with his arms crossed and a frown on his face.
Natsu: "Just couldn't do it, huh?"
Lucy: "I tried! But that idiot wouldn't know beauty if it bit him in the behind!"
Happy: "Uh huh."
She cried some more, and Mizu got up and walked over to her father.
Natsu: "Okay, I guess we'll have to resort to old plan T!"
Mizu grinned and nodded her head. Lucy stopped sulking and jumped up, excited as well.
Lucy: "Yeah! That big fat jerk's going to pay for this! Wait a sec... what's plan T?"
Mizu: "Take them by storm!"
Happy grinned and nodded his head. Lucy looked at them shocked and annoyed.
Lucy: "That's not a plan!"

They were on the roof of the mansion as Natsu used his fire to melt a hole in one of the windows. He looked annoyed by this.
Natsu: "Geez, this isn't taking them by storm you know? I think we should have just busted right in through the front door."
Mizu nodded her head, agreeing with her father. Lucy looked at him annoyed.
Lucy: "What did I tell you before? I am not getting arrested cause of you!"
Natsu: "Yeah, but I thought you wanted to get revenge on this guy?"
Lucy: "Oh, I'll get my revenge. Not only am I going to burn his stupid book, but I'm going to use his toothbrush to clean the toilet!"
They looked over at Lucy shocked and grossed out.
Mizu: "Ew, that's gross!"
Natsu nodded his head, and they went inside the mansion. They first checked out the room they were in and Happy found a cool-looking mask. He placed it on his head and roared, which scared the shit out of Lucy and Mizu. She clung to her father's legs and trembled in fear. Happy looked guilty for doing that to his sister.
Happy: "Oh, sorry, Mizu."
She nodded her head as her father picked her up. They left the room and started searching almost every single room there was in the mansion. Natsu grew bored.
Natsu: "Are we going to have to search every room in this whole stinking place?"
Lucy: "Well, yeah."
Natsu: "I think we should take a hostage and force them to tell us where the book is."
Lucy: "The whole idea here is not to be seen, you dummy You've got to be stealthy like a ninja."
Natsu and Mizu grinned, and they looked excited.
Natsu: "Like a real ninja?"
Lucy: "What's going on inside that head of yours?"
Suddenly the maids jumped through the floor.
Maid: "Intruder Virgo!"
Happy growled and scared the other four maids. Natsu then placed his daughter on the ground and jumped and kicked the maids.
Natsu: "Ninja power!"
He kicked the maids to the wall with his dragon slayer magic. Mizu giggled and got excited.
Virgo: "Flying Virgo attack!"
She fell on the ground...right on Natsu. Mizu got worried for her father, but he flew Virgo into the air and kicked her onto the ground. He had his scarf wrapped around his face.
Natsu: "We mustn't let ourselves be discovered. We are ninjas!"
Happy: "Ninja!"
Mizu giggled, she wrapped her scarf around her face and coped with her father's moves. He looked down at her and smiled.
Lucy: "Ninjas are supposed to be quiet guys."
They went back to looking for the book until they opened a door to a huge ass library. They walked inside and looked around amazed.
Natsu: "Whoa, there are many books in this library."
Happy: "Aye, there are indeed."
Lucy: "Whoa, who would have thought that Everlue was a major bookworm."
Mizu: "Let's start looking!"
Natsu grinned and nodded his head. They started looking at all the books there were. Lucy was on a ladder as she looked. Mizu stood next to her father as he looked as well.
Natsu: "Oh, this one has lots of pictures!"
Happy: "Look, it's a book on fish!"
Mizu giggled and looked at the books as well. One caught her eye; it was all sparkly. She reached for it, but it was too high for her to reach. Natsu saw this and smiled. He picked her up and she grabbed the book.
Mizu; "This one is all sparkly!"
Lucy: "Hey! Would you get serious and start looking for the book we need?"
She then noticed the book in Mizu's hands and gasped.
Lucy: "It's Daybreak!"
Happy: "Have we been here that long?"
Lucy: "Mizu found the book!"
Mizu looked at the book in her hands to see the title. She grinned and waved the book around with a grin on her face.
Miu: "I found the book!"
Natsu smiled and hugged his daughter. Lucy got off the ladder and walked over to them.
Natsu; "You did sweetheart. You found the book!"
She cheered as she got excited.
Lucy: "Two million jewels here we come!"
Natsu; "Let's spark it up!"
His hand got wrapped in lame and Mizu grinned and nodded her head. But then Lucy suddenly snatched the book out of her hands, and they looked at her shocked and confused.
Lucy: "Hold on a second. I didn't realize that this was written by Kemu Zaleon?"
They looked at her confused because they had no idea who that was.
Mizu: "Zale what?"
Lucy: "Zaleon was a great wizard and an amazing novelist. I'm such a big fan! I was positive that I read every single sentence that he'd ever written but this must be an unpublished novel!"
Natsu: "Oh, yeah? Who cares? It all burns the same to me."
Mizu nodded her head as Lucy looked at Natsu shocked and upset. She held the book protectively to her chest.
Lucy: "Don't you dare touch it! This is a great work of literature! You better stay away from it, pyro!"
They looked at her shocked while Mizu looked at her confused.
Misu: "But what about our mission?"
Lucy: "Just forget about the stupid mission!"
They looked at her shocked.
Happy: "Failure is not an option!"
Lucy: "Come on you guys. Let's just say we burned it! I'll keep it a secret I swear!"
Natsu looked at her annoyed.
Natsu: "I'm not a liar!"
Lucy pouted as she clung to the book. Natsu looked at her annoyed.
Everlue; "Well, well. What do we have here?"
They looked around confused before Everlue came jumping out from under the floor.
Everlue: "So you thieves are looking to piler Daybreak from me are you Boyoyoy!"
Natsu looked over at Lucy annoyed.
Natsu: "See, slowpoke. This is all your fault."
Lucy: "Yeah, sorry about that."
Everlue: "I knew all of you lowlife wizard types were coming around here to take something of mine. I never would have guessed it was that stupid book."
They looked at him shocked and confused. Because if the book meant so much to the client to be destroyed, why is Everlue treating it like trash?
Lucy: "This works out great. If it's so stupid I guess it's fine if I keep it."
Everlue: "It's mine! You can't have it! Get your grubby hands off!"
Lucy: "Greedy gut!"
Everlue: "Shut your trap ugly."
Lucy cried as she fell to the floor. Natsu looked down at her annoyance.
Natsu: "Would you hand over that book and let me get this over with?"
Lucy: "No way! I'm not giving it to you!"
Natsu looked down at Lucy and glared at her, getting annoyed with her.
Natsu: "Lucy, this is our job!"
Lucy: "Well, at least let me read it first!"
They looked down at her shocked and annoyed.
Hana; "Right now?!"
Everlue: "I've had enough! How dare you put your filthy hands on my possessions. Now, come forth Vanish Brothers!"
Suddenly the bookshelves moved apart from each other to reveal the two guys. One was wearing a white jacket and holding a giant frying pan. The other was wearing a yellow and blue jacket with spiky blue hair.
?: "You called upon us, sir?"
?: "Can you believe that these little punks are from the Fairy Tail guild? Talk about a bunch of runts."
Happy; "That sign means they're from the Southern Wolves. It's a mercenary guild."
Mizu got nervous as she clung to her father. Natsu smirked.
Natsu: "So you got bodyguards, do you?"
Lucy: "Oh wow."
She stood up and looked over at Natsu.
Lucy: "Hey, try and hold them off for a while. I'm not sure but I think this book holds some secret."
Natsu looked at her shocked but nodded her head as she ran off. He then placed his daughter on the ground and looked over at her and Happy.
Natsu: "Mizu, Happy. Go with Lucy."
They looked at him shocked and unsure.
Happy: "Are you sure you don't need us here?"
Natsu: "No thanks. I can handle them."
Happy nodded his head while Mizu still looked unsure. They took off as the brothers looked at Natsu annoyed.
?: "Whoa, you sure talk big for such a little guy."
?: "Perhaps we should put him in his place. So, you're a dragon slayer?"
Natsu looked at them shocked and confused. He wondered how they knew that about him.
Natsu; "Yeah, but how did you know that?"
?: "Fire was wrapping around her arms and legs when you defeated Virgo. There's no mistaking it. You are an ability-type fire wizard."
Natsu held up his fist and fire wrapped around it as he smirked.
Natsu: "No matter, I'll burn you to a molding crisp!"
