Chapter Sixty-Three
Red Alert
Down in Mutopia, the whole village was still asleep, at least, most of them were.
In his and Sephie's bedroom, Tyroth lay staring at the ceiling whilst Sephie slept soundly next to him.
He had been lying awake for hours thinking about what had transpired earlier in the day.
After he had concluded his meeting with Monalisa, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, he had taken them to James Dahlia's medical room so Monalisa could see Jake and Michelangelo could see Kate.
Flashback
James and Dahlia stood over their patients as they worked.
Dahlia was checking Kate's wounds as well as checking her eyes, heart, and blood pressure.
"Heartbeats normal." The wolf murmured "And the infection about the bit is clearing up, mainly due to the water."
"Thank Fuck…" Kate sighed.
"I suggest you rest for a while before doing anything else alright?" Dahlia suggested, though it sounded more like an order.
The Viper sighed and nodded before resting back on the pillow then the wolf walked over to Devina who was sitting up and using her magic to heal herself from the silver.
"How you doing there Devina?" she asked.
Devina looked up at the nurse "Getting there." She said, "Still feel like I've been splashed with acid,"
Dahlia sighed.
"I'm sorry that happened to you." She said patting the Vampires's shoulder.
"Comes with the job!" Devina quipped "How's Jake?"
Dahlia looked over at James who was shining a light in Jake's eyes trying to get him to follow it.
"Atta boy Jake, follow the light."
"J... J…James?"
"It's alright son, you're safe, you're in Mutopia, do you remember what happened?"
"I…I think so…" Jake croaked "Wait! Devina and I, we were attacked, I…. I was shot!"
"Calm down son!" James said, "You need to be calm alright?"
"Is everyone else alright?" Jake asked anxiously "Devina? Kate?"
"They're fine!" James soothed "They're both just fine!"
Jake sighed with relief then a knock was heard at the door.
"That must be Donnie." Dahlia said, then she saw the purple masked turtle enter looking rather angry.
Dahlia was a little shocked as she looked at him, yet the turtle gestured his thumb to the door behind him.
"Mona and Mike are here." He reported "They're asking if it's okay to see Kate and Jake?"
Dahlia looked at James who nodded at his apprentice.
"Be quick." She said to which Donatello turned back to the door and at his approval did his younger brother and older adopted sister burst into the room.
Michelangelo instantly ran over to Kate and over to her bedside.
"Gently!" Dahlia reminded him.
"Oh Katie!" he cried "Oh Katie babe!" he embraced his girlfriend and held her close "I heard what happened! A mutated ninja bit you!"
"Shh, shhh." Kate soothed as she hugged her scared boyfriend "It's okay, I'm alright, I was given anti-venom as well as the well's water."
Michelangelo just nuzzled and kissed Kate as he hugged her.
"Oh man!" he said, "It brought back memories of when Izo Ren almost killed you, and when Diablo shot you!"
Kate said nothing but just held onto her boyfriend to comfort him.
Monalisa meanwhile ran to Jake's side and sat on a chair beside him before stroking his hair.
"Jake! Oh Jake! My brother." She spoke softly.
"Mona?" Jake murmured as he looked in the direction of his sister's voice.
"I'm here little brother." Monalisa whispered "I'm here!" she clasped his hand and smiled as a couple of tears fell.
"Heh!" Jake chuckled "Just a while ago you were here and I was in the chair, now look how the tables have turned."
Monalisa couldn't help but chuckle.
"Trust you to make a joke even when you've awoken from surgery!" she said.
James who was watching also chuckled at Jake's humour.
"He's a tough one Mona." He said "Well, we see where he gets it from!"
Monalisa smiled tearfully at James then back at Jake.
Meanwhile Tyroth watched from the doorway, he had stood back to give Monalisa and Michelangelo some space to see their loved ones, and he too felt relieved that they were going to be alright.
He looked over at Dahlia who walked over with a clipboard.
"What's the verdict?" he asked in a quiet voice.
"They're lucky! Especially Jake! That bullet ripped right through his stomach and exited the back causing some rather nasty damage, but we were able to repair it."
She sighed.
"The bad news is he will be out of action for a while since he cannot heal as fast or with the water like we can."
Tyroth nodded with a frown.
"I understand." He said, "Thank you Dahlia, and to James and Donnie for what you've done for our friends."
Dahlia nodded and smiled up at the dragon.
"Just doing our job."
End Flashback
After they had left the patients to rest, Tyroth had then gone over the footage from the Spy-Bots taken at the Abandoned School and they had listened in as well as seen what had happened when Devina and Jake were discovered.
It had shocked him what he had heard, as well as seen, and he was glad that the other Knights had been as quick as they had been to save Devina and Jake.
Yet he was worried about Monalisa, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo's reactions to what they had seen, and he could only observe their looks of shock and then anger, especially when they saw Hanako appear on the screens.
Raphael had stroked his throat remembering how she can taken his voice, and Michelangelo had cradled his arm.
Yet Monalisa looked the most furious, seeing the woman who had muted her mate, and when she saw Boss Kodama, he could see the same hate and anger like she had felt for the Purple Dragons when they had attacked and killed her all those years ago.
He could tell that the Lizard Lady wasn't going to let sleeping dogs lie when it came to this, and he knew the next time they went on patrol, she and the turtles would be accompanying him and the Knights.
She wouldn't let him otherwise.
As Tyroth was lost in his thoughts, a noise from his shell cell on the bedside table which he had been charging sounded making him jump and he sat bolt upright and grabbed it.
He couldn't think who would be calling him at this time given it was the early hours of the evening, but as he looked and listened, he realised it was the distress beacon and his eyes widened.
"Oh no!" he cried, and he looked over at Sephie before shaking her shoulder to wake her.
"Sephie! Sephie! Honey!" he cried "Wake up!"
The Gecko opened her eyes and turned around to face her husband.
"Tyroth?" she asked sleepily as well as feeling annoyed to have been woken so roughly but she soon saw Tyroth's stricken face and she sat up.
"What? What is it?" she asked in worry.
"Distress signal!" Tyroth said as he started to pull on his black fireproof shorts and grab his sword "Mum and dad!"
Sephie gasped and she was soon out of bed like a rocket and set to get dressed and grab her weapons.
"Shall I get the Knights awake?" she asked.
Tyroth nodded.
"And rouse Donnie, Raph, Mona and Mikey!" he said as he tightened his belt "I'm not going to leave them out of this one! I promised them I would let them join us, providing they were strong enough to."
"On it!" Sephie agreed and she ran out of the room.
Meanwhile, Monalisa and Raphael had been sleeping peacefully in each other's arms when there was a knocking at the door.
The couple sat bolt upright and shook the sleep from their eyes.
"Enter!" Monalisa barked and Sephie appeared.
"Mona!" she cried "Red alert! Tyroth got a distress call from his parents!"
"What!?" Monalisa cried and Raphael glared and gave the sign language for 'What's going on?'
"There's no time to waste!" Sephie said "I've already roused Mikey, Donnie and the others! We meet at the entrance in five minutes!"
Monalisa nodded and leapt out of bed before searching for her clothes and weapons and Raphael did the same.
Monalisa soon found her clothes which consisted of tight leather trousers with matching knee-high boots, a pink crop top that covered the tops of her arms, a black waspie corset with pink detail, along with her black fingerless gloves.
It was the same outfit she had worn when she confronted Diablo those years ago after he had fled Mutopia and gathered his Disciples when on the run in Chicago.
Raphael meanwhile had dressed in a black shirt, along with red pants that matched his red mask, along with matching shoulder pads and elbow pads as well as his belt with his sai and extra ninja weapons.
Looking at his mate he signed to her.
'What do you think has happened?'
"I got no idea." Monalisa replied "But whatever had happened, we will be ready!" she opened her bladed fan "And I will lead us, like I promised Leonardo before he left for Japan."
'I'm ready to follow you!' Raphael sighed and bowed to Monalisa to which the Lizard Lady stepped forward and kissed him deeply.
"I love you!" she whispered.
'I love you too.' Raphael mouthed silently.
As the couple hurried to the entrance to meet up with Tyroth, they were greeted by the other turtles who were dressed in the same attire as Raphael except Donatello's colours were purple and Michelangelo's were orange respectively.
Kate was by Michelangelo's side, looking ready to fight, and Amber walked with Donatello.
"Whomever is hurting our parents!" Amber growled "They will die a painful death!"
Monalisa glowered and gritted her teeth.
"Trust me!" she said "I got a few guesses who might be behind what's going on! And I will rip them apart!"
Raphael felt a pang in his stomach as he looked at his wife as he remembered that behaviour both from when she had first joined him and his brothers and were searching for her rapists and killers as well as that time in Skyrim when she hunted down bandits that had attacked innocents.
He could only thank his lucky stars that the Lizard lady he called his wife, and the mother of his child was on their side.
Before long, everyone arrived at the entrance to Mutopia.
Sephie counted everyone then turned to Tyroth.
"All present!" she said.
"Great!" Tyroth said.
"What's going on Boss?" Jack asked, "What's happened?"
"I don't know!" Tyroth said "But my parents sent out their distress signal, and I'm not going to let it lie! I tried calling them but they're not picking up!"
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Monalisa demanded "We must go now! We're ready to follow your lead Tyroth!"
Tyroth nodded at Monalisa.
"We stay together, and we go straight to the source!" the Dragon ordered "Then once we arrive, await my orders!"
Everyone nodded and agreed.
"Then let's go!" Tyroth said then opened the entrance and everyone quickly hurried to the surface.
The distress signal Richard and Erica sent out to Tyroth had alerted the Dragon and he and Sephie have alerted the other Knights to join them to help, as well as the Hamato Clan.
Btw, if anyone has sharp eyes or had seen or played the videogame 'Injustice 2', the outfits the turtles are wearing are reference to the costume options used in the game!
