I woke up to Rani jumping on me. "ASHA! Wake Up!" She was shouting. "Go 'way." I moaned, rolling over and shoving my face back into my pillow. "Nah ah. You are going to get up. Five minutes before I set Clyde and Luke on you to drag you out of bed." I bolted up and glared at the laughing girl. "Good morning Asha." Rani said with faux innocence. I gave her my scariest glare and began getting clothes out to get dressed to ensure that Clyde and Luke didn't actually come in. Before I could get my stuff out of my bag, Rani grabbed my hand and dragged me out of her room and down the stairs.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ASHA!" I heard three voices shout with another two a little quieter than the other three. Obviously, Luke and Clyde were two of the reasons I'm sure I'm going deaf. I was surprised that Gita was the other person to shout. "Morning, Birthday Girl." Sarah Jane said, coming forwards to engulf me in a hug. "Hi." I said in completely confused. It then clicked. "OH. It's my birthday, isn't it?" I asked, finally understanding why Rani was so hyper this morning. And why the others were so loud. I mean, I couldn't even understand what they said. "Well...duh. Why else would we be saying 'Happy birthday' if it wasn't your birthday?" Clyde deadpanned. "You try being woken by a violent Rani while she's acting like she just ate chocolate. Then have five people scream at you so loudly you couldn't understand them while going deaf." I snapped at them. "Got her out of the wrong side of the bed?" Clyde asked, looking kinda scared. Don't blame them. I'm not a morning person. I took a deep breath. "Sorry. Rani isn't the best person to wake me up." I said apologetically, hoping that they'll understand my mood. "Why don't we eat? Then Asha can open her presents?" Sarah Jane suggested.
Five minutes and a hot chocolate later, I was eating the amazing pancakes that Clyde and Haresh made just for me. "'Ank 'ooo." I said, attempting to talk without dying from food in my wind pipe. Luke was silently dying with laughter while I was eating/talking. I waited till no one was looking our way and kicked him in the shins for laughing at me. He was sat next to me, so no one noticed until Luke flicked me. That caused me to take a pancake that I might have smothered in salted caramel sauce and plant it on his face. Rani and Sarah Jane were in hysterics. Clyde was annoyed that one of the pancakes had been wasted; Haresh, on the other hand, was silently cracking up, not caring that I had wasted a perfectly good pancake. Luke seemed to go into a shock that I had actually dared to do that. I'm normally the quiet, nerdy and goody-two-shoes of the group. "You were laughing at me." I shrugged, continuing my pile of food. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Luke eating the pancake.
Five minutes later, after Luke got the sauce off his face, we sat in the living room, about to open my presents. "Me first! Me first!" Clyde screamed, reminding me of a hyper three year old. He shoved the badly wrapped gift in my face. "Ouch! Calm down, Clyde!" I laughed, taking the present. I pulled off the paper and was met with one of the three things I wanted most in the world. "OBI-WAN KENOBI ACTION FIGURE! Thanks Clyde!" I yelled, grabbing my older bro in a hug. "Your welcome, Ash." He said, hugging my tiny frame. "Mine next!" Rani said, running upstairs to our room and came back down with a bag. I took it from her and pulled out a book. I turned it over and screamed in delight. It was the one book I wished existed for sooooo long but didn't know about. It was the Star Wars Visual Guide! I have the best friends ever. "Rani, this book makes up for your awful wake up call this morning." I grinned at the older girl. She gave me this innocent angel face. I raised my eyebrow at her and we engaged in this staring contest which I won due to my superior concentration. Okay, I also used this super cool trick where I make my pupil expand and contract, which makes people other than Luke uncomfortable. Luke just tries to figure out how to do it. "Okay! My turn!" the two year old in a 15 year old's body yelled, giving me his present. This was far better wrapped than Clyde's. I quickly tore the paper of and couldn't believe my luck. I have only just begun watching Star Wars the Clone Wars, and my favorite character has to be Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker's padawan. Using that info, guess what Luke got me? A Tie fighter. No, just kidding. I hate the empire. He got me the new Ahsoka Tano action figure! "Thank you!" I squealed, launching myself at my best friend. He laughed and returned my hug. "This one is from us adults," Sarah Jane said, giving me a small box. I opened it and had to hug each and every one of them. It was a necklace, but not just any necklace. It had three different Hogwarts crests on it. Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. No offense to Slytherin, I just don't quite have the qualities of that house. They are mostly brilliant people, they just are stereotyped into believing that their evil. That's my opinion. I felt the necklace being taken from my hands by Luke and felt him move my hair to put it on. As he did, I felt tingles on where he touched the back of my neck. I don't understand it. Ah well.
"Come on, Asha! We need to go to my house! My Mum's been demanding to meet you!" Clyde said, pulling me up. I laughed. "lemme get dressed first." I said, going upstairs. I collapsed on my bed later that night. That was my best birthday ever. I normally just stayed at home and read a new book, but this year, I had friends who cared about me. It's the best feeling ever.
