"You're looking nice, Sarah Jane." I comment as she walks into the living room, where Luke, Clyde, Rani and I are spread out on the floor, with various subjects' textbooks spread around us. "Yeah, you going somewhere nice?" Clyde teased. Sarah Jane laughed. "No where particularly glamorous. I'm just meeting someone who has a lead for an article I'm writing. Nothing exciting!" She hurries to reassure us as we all make to get up. "Can I come?" Rani asked. Sarah Jane usually takes Rani to these kinds of things, as 'preparation' for when she's older. "Not this time Rani." That was the first sign of something being off. She never says no to bringing Rani during the weekend, especially not on a Saturday afternoon! I frown as she says her goodbyes, saying that she'll be back late, so she's left money for pizza, if we are planning on staying for dinner. Once the car was defiantly gone, I looked at the others. "That was weird, right? It's not just me?" I questioned, seeing Rani sigh in relief. "Yeah, Sarah Jane always brings Rani along for the interviews." Clyde agrees. Luke then brings up another point. "She didn't even mention what the article was about." I shrug. "I'm sure Sarah Jane has her own reasons for lying to us. I vote we do nothing unless it gets concerning." I offer. Three nods later, and we are back to studying.

"Hello, people who don't live here." An amused Sarah Jane remarked as she walked into the attic. "Hi, Sarah Jane." The three of us chorus. "I'm off. You lot behave." She tells us, grabbing her handbag and walking back out again. I turn to Luke. "Where's she off to today?" I ask, wondering if this is like Saturday. "She said something about a story she wants to follow up on that she had written about or something." Luke obviously doesn't believe her.

"Mum's excuse of the day, she was going on a walk." Luke tells me. "Honestly, at this point she may as well be flat out saying she has a boyfriend, this is getting ridiculous." I tell him, putting our plates in the sink. Luke has come round to my house for once, given that Mum and William weren't in, and apparently, neither was Sarah Jane. Luke paused. "You don't actually think Mum has a boyfriend, do you? I mean, she would tell us if she did. Right?" I really should learn to keep my thoughts to myself. "Well, if you think about it, you and Rani are the only ones who currently don't have a history of parental issues. Clyde's dad walked out, and you are more than aware of my issues with my mum's choice of partner. Plus, Sarah Jane's so protective of you, I think she's just waiting until she knows if this is a long-term thing before introducing you to the topic. If she is. I'm not saying she is. But she is acting a bit like a teenage girl with her first boyfriend." I tell him. He seems a bit happier with that.

"I didn't pay attention to her excuse this time." Luke admitted when Clyde asked him. "Okay, I know I said we wait until something happens, but this is getting concerning. I don't want to spy on her, but we should at least ask her what's going on." I say. They all look at me strangely. "What?" I snap. "Asha, you don't think she'll just tell us what's going on if we just ask her, do you?" Rani asks slowly. I roll my eyes. "Well, she seems to think she's getting away with her lies, so if we let her know that we know that she's lying, then she might just tell us. Besides, what if this is really private? You know what she's like when it comes to her privacy." I feel really bad about this. Here's to hoping that Sarah Jane tells us before they do anything stupid.

a/n: I wanted some sort of filler chapter. As usual, I don't own Sarah Jane or her friends.
