Chapter Text
Marinette Dupain-Cheng could hardly contain herself as her and Alya moved the last box into her college dorm. The two girls had left Paris after Hawkmoth's mysterious disappearance, the villain not having been heard from in over two years. Alya had convinced her to leave behind Paris and explore life outside of Europe. Of course, Paris would always have Ladybug, but she had Kalki for those situations. Marinette walked across the floors of her new dorm; the hardwood smooth under her bare feet as she opened the door to her balcony. Warm Florida air whisked past her as she breathed in the smell of the ocean that took over the backyard to her second story home. Florida was her first choice, the warm weather perfect for her and Tikki, not to mention the beaches of Miami had been on her bucket list since childhood. Alya squeaked next to her and ran to the railing, phone pointed out and panning over the clear blue ocean and white sands. Marinette chuckled and elbowed her in the ribs in tease.
"Don't you have your own dorm room to gush over Alya?"
Alya stuck out her tongue and flipped her phone to face Marinette, grinning as she recorded her best friend. Marinette tried to swat it away but missed as Alya laughed and continued recording. "Oh come on girl! Can't I hang out with my smoking hot BFF until I have to go help Nino?" Marinette glared at Alya but her smile gave her away, thankful for her friend's banter. When Marinette had turned nineteen, Alya had all but commanded it was time for change. Gone were the pigtails and ribbons. Gone were the pink homemade clothes and silly flats for shoes. Her hair sat high in a ponytail, the ends curled and cascading down past her shoulders. Her figure had slimmed and her body toned, years of fighting paying off. Her thigh length denim shorts hugged her waist just below the edge of her black Ghost crop top. So she liked the satanic group, sue her. Her stomach was on display, toned muscle peeking out from under the shirt. She was confident in the new her and Alya took every opportunity to remind her that she was amazing. She walked back inside the dorm and through the kitchen, the electric stove would definitely be seeing use. It was a spacious dorm. One bedroom and one bathroom. Her living room was cozy and just on the opposite side of her balcony. It was enough for her. Alya checked her phone and cursed, annoyance etched on her face. Marinette raised a brow and Alya showed her the texts from Nino.
Nino Turtle: Hey Als. Stuff is here. Don't forget we have that dinner date later. Tell Nette hi for me! Love you! 3
Marinette chuckled at her best friend's boyfriend and gave Alya a hug before she ran off. She had introduced Nino, her childhood best friend, to Alya their junior year of high school. The two had hit it off from the start and began dating only a month later. She was happy for her friends and loved them both dearly, herself just a bit jealous of the relationship. High school had been an uneventful experience for Marinette. In sophomore year, she had dated Kim for a week before he cheated on her with a girl from the swim team, Nino had keyed his car after. Then in junior year she had confessed her feelings for Marc. That ended in embarrassment as he sheepishly admitted he was gay and in a relationship with Nathaniel. From that point on she ignored the topic of romance, content to help Nino and Alya or read her dark romance books. She had a few one night stands but nothing serious, perfect for her. She had admitted to Alya just before graduation of her role as Ladybug, the pressure of Hawkmoth too much to handle alone and letting them keep their kwami's full time. When Alya told her the idea of moving to Florida, she had no reason to say no. Her parents were all for the idea and even encouraged her "not so ladylike" activities should they arise. So, with a bittersweet plan, she packed all her things and the miracle box before starting over in Miami.
It wasn't all sad of course. Her clothing label, MDC, was quickly gaining traction across the world with fashion icons such as Gabriel Agreste and Style Queen complimenting her work. The money that came in more than covered her living expenses and school items with the rest being able to go directly into her bank. For once, Marinette could say things were looking perfect. She opened the door to her dorm and looked out down the hallway. There were only 6 people on each level, enough space between the units to provide privacy and comfort. Her dorm, Unit 202, was dead center of the beach side and yet she heard no noise from the other units. Truly perfect. Unit 205 across from her quickly opened and a blond boy stepped out, his blazing green eyes finding her bluebell ones as he placed a trash bag next to his door. Marinette tried to keep the blush from forming as she looked him over, eyes traveling over the curve of his body as he stood. He was definitely taller than her by a few inches, him having to look down at her from his spot across the hall. His biceps strained against the sleeves of his forest green shirt and Marinette swore she could see the outline of abs traced across his stomach. Baggy black sweatpants slipped off the left side of his waist, the slope of his hips forming a perfect half V. She would love to know if the other side matched. The boy raised a brow at her, his face unreadable as he watched her.
"Can I help you with something?"
Marinette snapped back to reality and put on her best smile as she stepped out her door and over to him, her hand held out. "I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng. I just moved from Paris." He took her hand gently and shook it, his hand engulfing hers. "Adrien. Paris huh? You are a long way from home." Marinette nodded as she retracted her hand, arms sliding behind her back and hands clasped behind her. "Change of scenery you know? Only so much you can do as a baker's daughter." Adrien chuckled at her and leaned against his doorway, toned arms crossing over his chest. His eyes roamed over her before landing back on her own. " So, what's your major? I'm here for chemistry. Just a way to piss my father off." Marinette frowned at that but chose to let it go, excited to be making a friend so soon. "Fashion. I already have a small business but again it's just a small one. Hopefully I can learn enough to impress my favorite designer. He has complimented me before but honestly I am hoping to get an internship soon enough." Adrien was listening to her with interest, his eyes watching as she got excited and her arms moved with each word. "Who's the designer? Maybe I can help you out there. I was a model in high school."
"Gabriel Agreste."
Adrien froze, his hand clenching his bicep in a tight grip and his eyes narrowed to glare at her. Marinette stiffened as his body language changed and his face grew dark. Had she said something wrong? She studied his face before something seemed to click, her mind finally working in full gear. This wasn't just any guy she was talking to. This was-
"Holy shit. Adrien Agreste? As in super model and son of Gabriel Agreste?"
Adrien growled in the back of his throat, the noise sending unwanted shivers down her spine. He pushed off the wall and stalked toward her, his green eyes suddenly tinged with danger. She backed away, her back hitting her own door as he stalked closer. He leant down to her level and looked her in the eyes, anger clear. "That's right. Now let me tell you how this is going to go. You are going to leave me the fuck alone and not even look in my direction. I will not help you get to my prick of a father and I definitely don't want to hang around you. I left Paris to get away from silly fan girls, I don't need another one." Marinette stared up at him as his eyes bore into hers. She opened her mouth to speak and his hand slammed next to her head, trapping her between the wall and him. "Is that clear princess?" All she could do was nod numbly as Adrien drew himself back up and turned away from her, entering his dorm and slamming the door shut. Marinette stood shocked and confused before rushing back into her dorm and slamming her own door. She rushed to her phone and shot off a text to Alya, a quick explanation of the situation hastily typed out. She walked to her living room and flopped on the couch; face still red from the entrapment Adrien put her in. Her first day and already she had managed to piss off her idol's son. Tikki landed on her shoulder and nuzzled into her neck, unsure of what had happened but wanting to comfort her chosen regardless.
Things were definitely not perfect.

Chapter Text
Adrien groaned as he flopped back onto his couch, hands clawing at his hair in frustration. The miniature black cat hovered over him, judging eyes peaking over the hunk of camembert it was munching on. "Don't you think you were a little to ruff on the girl back there? She was just being nice." Adrien rolled his eyes and flipped onto his stomach to avoid the god's gaze. "I have no patience for anyone who idolizes my father. I moved here to get away from him, you know this Plagg." He growled lowly to himself, bluebell eyes filling his mind. He wouldn't admit it, but the girl was cute. Her small hand had fit perfectly in his and the cute dimples that formed as she smiled had set his heart off tempo. Not to mention her petite body, the clothes hiding nothing from his imagination. How would she look out of them? He shook the thoughts out of his head and groaned in repressed anger. She just had to mention his father.
His father, or rather Gabriel, was the tormentor he couldn't seem to escape. Cold and detached from anyone and everything not related to his fashion empire. Gabriel demanded perfection and yet no matter what Adrien did, that perfection was never met. Then came the miraculous. He had foolishly shown him the ring after returning home, excited to share the prospect of the hero life that the mini god had explained with his father. Gabriel was indeed interested, but not in his son. He had questioned Plagg, the kwami of destruction, as to the powers of his miraculous. It didn't take long for his father to reveal his identity as the new terrorist Hawkmoth, proclaiming Adrien his new lieutenant in the search for the Ladybug miraculous, just one half of his goal. Adrien had refused, screaming at his father that he was a hero, not a villain. His father had snatched his miraculous and swore he would make Adrien fall in line by any means necessary, he was his son and would do as his father ordered.
Gabriel had followed through with his threat.
Gabriel, his father, died that day. Only Hawkmoth existed to Adrien. Gabriel had withdrawn him from school, isolating him from all contact with the outside world. The cold and dark basement was his only view. The sounds of his own breathing the only thing he heard. Six agonizing months. Six months his "father" spent breaking his only son. Screams filled the air as Adrien fought to take the punishment of resistance. Six months of physical and mental torture, Adrien's resolve was finally breaking as his father hovered over him, the orange glow of the iron "G" lighting up Gabriel's pleased face before being roughly shoved onto Adrien's chest. Screams melded with the smell of scorched flesh. After six months Adrien broke, a shell of his former self. The once deemed "Sunshine" boy with dreams of the future was replaced by a dark soul, obedience his only care. Gabriel had smirked as his son finally accepted his fate. He had returned the ring and began Adrien's rigorous training, determined to have his ultimate weapon. It didn't take long before he was ready, his submissiveness making him easily molded. Hawkmoth had looked on with pride as cold blue eyes stared back at him under white hair. The leather clung to the new body of his son, tense muscles filling out the suit. The boy knew he should be in black as he wore the black cat miraculous yet he couldn't care, the white a middle finger to his captor. Chat Blanc would prove to be Hawkmoth's greatest creation.
Adrien hissed before pushing himself off the couch. He stormed pass Plagg without a look and threw open his fridge, a soda gripped tightly in his hand as he slammed it shut. He refused to look at the god. He knew it wasn't his fault, but his presence served as a constant reminder of his true nature. He was a thief. A killer. He was whatever the highest bidder demanded he be. His phone buzzing on the coffee table helped to pull him from his thoughts, Nathalie's name taking up the screen. He snatched it up and accepted the call, teeth gritting in annoyance.
"What?'
Nathalie sighed on the other end; Gabriel's assistant having gotten used to his short temper long ago. "Have you finished moving into your dorm? You didn't notify your father that you had arrived." Adrien clicked his tongue as he leaned against the kitchen counter. "If he was so worried he should have called himself, or is it just the miraculous he's worried about?" He could hear the edge creep into her voice as she retorted back. "You should be thanking him Adrien. You wouldn't be there now had your father not gotten contracts for your service. Do not test his generosity. I would hate to see what little freedom you have be snatched away." Adrien rolled his eyes. Of course that was all Gabriel cared about. The money and connections that came from selling his son to anyone with enough cash. He got a cut of course; he had a cheese obsessed god to care for after all.
"With all disrespect Nathalie, unless you have a job for me, politely fuck off."
He hung up the phone and tossed it onto the counter, anger seeping into him. He couldn't wait for his father to get the other miraculous and achieve whatever goal it was he desired, a goal he refused to share with his lieutenant. He couldn't wait for his freedom. Plagg zipped over and settled onto his shoulder, small head nuzzling into his neck as a he let out a calming purr. Adrien relaxed slightly and raised a hand toward the cat, cupping him closer and sighing softly as he reigned in his anger. Plagg never judged him for anything, having been present the entire time. He loved his kitten and wished he could free him from his restraints, yet neither cat could defy Gabriel. A tear slid down Adrien's cheek as he held his friend close, shoulders shaking with repressed sobs. Anger and loneliness crept through his whole body and he struggled to remove the emotions.
Things were far from perfect.

Chapter Text
She should have known that crime would rear its head early into her stay in Miami.
Ladybug sighed as she looked down at the scene below her, red and blue lights strobing and providing a cover for her red suit. Officers searched the scene, flashlights scanning every corner and eyes constantly flickering back to the victim. A man lay in the middle of the alley, his expensive looking black suit stained by the pool of blood that surrounded him. Three slashed stretched across his throat and his face was a mask of fear. Someone had a grudge against this man. She took a deep breath before dropping from the roof, a soft thud the only indication of her presence. She cleared her throat and the officers spun, hands flying to holstered weapons. Ladybug rose her hands in a show of peace, a frown on her face at the glares.
"Easy gentlemen. I'm Ladybug, one of the heroes of Paris. What happened here?"
The officers looked between themselves, unsure what to do with the girl in front of them. A tall muscular man stepped forward, his biceps indicating his black shirt was a little too small for him. His long thin legs allowed him large strides as he was quickly in front of her. His black hair peaked out from under his MPD hat and thin beard neatly trimmed. He raised a brow at her and looked her over, grip tightening on the water bottle he held.
"Captain Ellis, Miami Police. Mind telling me what you are doing here instead of Paris? What's with the weird outfit?"
Ladybug rolled her eyes as he continued to scan her, clearly not impressed. "Paris no longer needed Ladybug, so I figured I would patrol the city. You have a lot more crime here than where I'm from. You could use all the help you can get." Ellis frowned yet nodded as she was right, the city had been going to hell over the last couple months and showed no sign of slowing down. "So again sir, what or who am I looking at?" Ellis sighed and motioned her over to the body, his men standing down and relaxing in awe at the hero. Ellis knelt down and removed a wallet from the victim. "Names Kevin Walsh. He was one of the best lawyers in Miami. Couple of teens stumbled on the body, time of death approximately three hours ago." Ladybug circled the body and drunk in every detail, eyes scanning for any clues. She pointed a finger to the slash marks and turned to Ellis.
"These wounds. That doesn't look like a knife. It almost looks like-"
"Claw marks?"
Ladybug's brows shot up. She faced Ellis fully and stood, stepping close enough to whisper between the two. "What aren't you telling me Captain?" Ellis looked around at his officers before gripping her arm and dragging her down the alley. He dipped his head low and pulled a manilla folder from his black tactical pants. He pressed the folder into her hand and watched as she pulled out the photos inside. Her stomach dropped. Each photo held a body, bloodied and beaten in some form or another. Each pale throat making the three slashes pop with the red of spilled blood. Ladybug shoved the photos back into the folder and thrust it back into Ellis' hands, her stomach threatening to betray her. Scared eyes met the calm of the captain. "Do we have any lead on this guy?" Ellis shook his head and huffed in anger. "We have been hunting this jack off for weeks. No prints, no DNA, no nothing. It's like he's a fucking shadow!" Ellis yelled out in anger before turning away from her and punting the water bottle down the alley. Ladybug bit her lip as she watched him regain his calm, his eyes betraying him though as the disappointment still shone. She flipped open her yoyo and pulled out a small piece of paper. She held it out to him and offered a small smile as he took it.
"This is for my burner phone. For obvious reasons I can't tell you my identity, but you can reach me at any time with this. I think we just may be able to help each other."
Ellis gave her a stiff nod before slipping the paper in his pocket, hand fidgeting without the bottle. She chuckled and pulled a five dollar bill from her yoyo, holding it out to him with a teasing grin. "For your water." Ellis shot her a half glare before accepting. He turned back to his officers and watched as they continued to work. Ladybug looked at him in awe as he seemed unfazed by the gore before them. Ellis felt her stare and looked down at her with a raised brow. She motioned to the scene before them with a grimace. "How do you do it?" Ellis shrugged and pulled a spare water bottle from a side pocket, eyes never leaving the body.
"I've been doing this for fifteen years. I've seen some shit."
Ladybug chuckled to herself before bidding him farewell and whipping away, leaving a baffled Ellis behind. Neither noticed the shadow watching from the roof above.
Chat Blanc watched in shock as Ladybug zipped away, claws digging into the roof's ledge. She was supposed to be in Paris yet here she was, the very thing his master wanted. With a growl he pushed off the roof and leapt to the next, agile body sprinting through the shadows as he stalked Ladybug's retreating form. The red clad hero was oblivious of the stalking figure, her thoughts plagued by the sight of the bloodied body. She flung her yoyo forward once more and felt the rush of soaring through the air as it hooked, her body being pulled to the opposite roof. She screamed in surprise as something collided with her midair, a flash of white dancing in her vision as she collapsed onto the roof. She sprang up and scanned the area, searching for the white she had seen. The soft jingle of a bell had her whipping to the left, arm raised to strike. Bluebell eyes met ice blue, a white gloved hand gripping her wrist in a painful grip. Chat towered over her, white hair dancing in the night wind and chest heaving under the white leather suit. White slashed behind him, a leather belt acting as a tail and ears standing at attention. The silver bell at his neck jingled with each heaving breath as he flung her down again, a steel toe boot barely missing her head as she moved to stand again. She aimed a kick at his torso, Chat moving out of the way and aiming one of his own.
They danced in a flurry of fists and kicks, red colliding with white as neither let up. Chat claimed the upper hand as he grabbed a fistful of her pigtails and pulled her back flush against his chest, letting go only to recapture her wrist. His other hand reached for her throat, sharp white claws pressing uncomfortably into her as she squirmed. Her fist clenched and he dug his nails deeper, a silent warning to stand down. "I wouldn't do that if I were you kitten." She shivered at the venom in his cold voice, head tilting back to meet his face. He grinned down at her, sharp canines flashing at her in danger. "What's the bug of Paris doing in Miami, hm kitten?" Ladybug glared at him, a defiant look flashing over her face. "Not going to introduce yourself first cat? So much for being a gentleman." Chat growled low and spun them around, one hand quickly capturing both her wrists above her head as he pinned her into the wall, never once removing his claws from her skin. He smirked as she gasped in pain, eyes darting to his in anger. He leaned in close to her, his breath ghosting over her ear.
"The names Chat Blanc."
He felt her suck in a breath as he pulled back from her, the claws leaving her neck and instead finding her chin. He lifted her head to meet him and smirked at the tint of red that covered her cheeks. He chuckled internally at her as his eyes followed the curve of her body, drinking in any detail the red spandex would give away. Ladybug watched as he ogled her, fighting the twist in her stomach as he trailed his hand from her chin down her body before resting on her hip. He gave her a smirk before quickly releasing her. She stumbled at the sudden loss of his hold and watched as he backed away from her, eyes promising danger. "Don't get in the way Ladybug. This isn't a game you are leveled up for." With a final look he dove backwards over the roof's ledge, Ladybug racing to follow. She cursed to herself as she was met with an empty alleyway. He was gone just like that. With one last glance she zipped away, eager to be away from the area.
Adrien sighed as he landed back in his dorm, a piece of camembert thrown lazily over his shoulder to Plagg as he let his transformation fall. Plagg gave him a questioning look as he landed on the blonde's shoulder. "You aren't going to call Gabriel? Freaking Ladybug is here! You had the miraculous right there!" Adrien rolled his eyes and leaned against the kitchen counter, a small smirk on his face. His mind jumped to the feel of her heartbeat against him and the defiance she threw at him. The way her body reacted as his hand trailed her. He shot Plagg a smirk and held a finger to his lips.
"I won't tell if you don't. Besides, I get the feelings things just got way more interesting around here."
Plagg shook his head before floating off with his cheese. He silently sent a prayer out for Tikki, he knew Adrien better than even himself. Whatever Adrien wanted; Adrien got, one way or another.
And the cat just found his new toy.

Chapter Text
Marinette groaned next to Alya as she looked across the table of the Waffle House, green eyes staring back at her from next to Nino. Adrien freaking Agreste. Nino had apparently met him during their shared physics class, the two boys quickly becoming friends over a love for Jagged Stone and video games. Nino had introduced him to Alya who, like the social butterfly she was, happily added him to her friend group. A group she forgot included one Marinette. Alya sheepishly looked between the two as they locked eyes, neither looking away. Nino shrugged and gave a small smile, hands fidgeting with his headphones.
"Look dudes, its Saturday! Lighten up a little! Let's have some waffles, chit chat and head back to play some games. You have to play against Mari, she's a damn beast!"
Adrien huffed and broke the eye contact, turning a small smile to Nino in thanks. "You're right man. So, Alya, what did you do before leaving Paris?" Alya lit up, hands instantly grabbing her phone and pulling up her still active blog. "I ran the Ladyblog up until Ladybug vanished. I've got everything! Interviews, pics and even front row footage of the best Akuma attacks!" Adrien smirked as she talked. So, she was close to the bug? Marinette stuttered on her words before flicking her finger over the phone, turning the content away from Ladybug and to the other heroes of Paris. "She isn't the only hero you know Alya. Rena and Carapace are just as important as she is." The two girls went back in forth, each trying to prove who was the better hero. Adrien looked to Nino who shrugged, used to the girls trying to secretly hype each other up. Adrien felt his heart skip as he watched the spark ignite in Marinette's eyes, her voice spiking as she was locked in a verbal battle with Alya. She talked with her hands, each word punctuated by a sharp movement in any direction. Her hair bounced as she tore her eyes to him, her lips moving yet he heard no words, the fire in her eyes to intoxicating.
"Adrien!"
He jumped slightly and turned to Nino, a sheepish smile on his face. "Sorry, I must have zoned out. What were you guys saying?" Nino chuckled and pointed a finger at Marinette as she looked at him expectantly. He raised a brow and rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous habit picked up over the years. "I'm sorry Marinette. What did you ask?" She gave him a blinding smile as though their first interaction was forgotten and she turned the phone to him, a photo of the Paris heroes on display. "I asked who your favorite hero was. You were in Paris during the time they were active so surely you had a favorite!" His mind shot to that night, skin tight spandex lining the hip under his touch. The way his fingers traced the black spots. Those blue eyes that promised defiance. The sound of her breath sucking into her lungs. "Ladybug." He whispered, stuck in the past thoughts. Marinette squeaked slightly and he snapped back to her, a teasing grin on his face. "What about you pixie? What hero gets you going?" Marinette blushed and zoomed in on the photo. Teal hair hung over yellow masked eyes, two fangs hanging off the ends of the mask. Black melded with teal as the spandex lined the man's body, abs lined in armor mimicking snake scales. Adrien's grip tightened on his water glass as he stared at the picture. It was the snake hero, Viperion. His power of second chance had ruined his master's plans on more than one occasion, failed missions that led to more punishment for him. The waitress pulled him from his anger as she placed a hot waffle in front of him.
They all ate in silence, savoring the waffles drenched in syrup. Marinette clapped happily as bacon was placed in front of her, edges dark and strips stiff. Adrien crinkled his nose as she bit into the crispy bacon, little crumbles falling back onto her plate. "That should be illegal." Marinette shot him a scowl and playfully took a small bite, slow enough for the bacon to break apart with small crunches. Adrien rolled his eyes and thanked the waitress as she placed his own in front of him. He picked up a piece and shook it in her face, the strip wiggling between his fingers. "See, this is how bacon is done. Cooked but still chewy. Perfection." She scowled at him, a strip hanging out of her mouth. Adrien grinned and leaned over the table, him own mouth engulfing the other side, lips centimeters from her own. She stared at him with wide eyes as he winked and bit down, severing their connection and munching the burnt piece as he sat back down. Alya sat with her mouth agape, eyes flickering between the two and brain struggling to comment. Marinette looked away and out the window, hand covering her mouth to try to hide the blush creeping over her face.
The group finally paid before heading their separate ways, Alya and Nino leaving together for their dorm room. Marinette chocked on air as she watched Adrien walk over to a Honda CBR500R, the sleek black body and neon green detailing shining in the streetlights. He threw a black helmet over his head, face hidden behind the tinted visor. He opened up his backpack that he had brought with him and withdrew a black leather jacket, a green line trailing over each sleeve as he threw it on. She ran up to him as he started his bike, heart beating fast and trying to ignore the way the black made him look almost mysterious.
"Adrien. Can we talk real quick?"
He flipped up his visor and looked at her, hand switching off his bike. "Okay. Talk." She shook her head at his bluntness and crossed her arms over her chest. "I was hoping we could start over. I know we didn't start on the best of terms, but I really want to be friends. Especially if you are part of our group now." He thought her words over, her eyes shining with genuine care. He sighed and looked her in the eye, his own curious. "I meant what I said Dupain-Cheng. I refuse to help you get anywhere near my father." She went to protest and he held a hand up, silencing her. "We can start as acquaintances, nothing more. If you want to be my friend then prove it through action." He flipped his visor back down and started his bike, hands clenching the handlebars as he sped off. Marinette stood stunned as his taillight drifted from sight and groaned to herself.
This boy was going to get on her nerves.
Luka Couffaine hummed as he waited in the elevator, a bundle of red roses held close to his chest. He had been hesitant to leave Paris for Miami, his father Jagged wanting him to join on his new world tour. While Luka loved music, he loved his friends more. He had taken a liking to Tom and Sabine, Marinette's parents, over the time she had been gone. Sabine would greet him every morning as he arrived to purchase his croissant, the small Chinese woman complaining he was too skinny and placing another pastry on his plate. Tom, the big Frenchman he was, greeted him with a bone crushing hug and would ask about his previous day and his budding relationship with his father. Tom had helped Jagged in coming to terms with being a dad, the former giving the rockstar pointers. Such advise had greatly improved the father son relationship and Luka couldn't thank him enough. He knew they missed Marinette after she left and took it upon himself to give them someone to confide in and smother with love. Anything for his Melody's parents.
He strode down the hall as he exited the elevator, eyes scanning the numbers as he went before stopping in front of 202. He knocked on the door and waited, roses held firm in front of him. His snake kwami, Sass, buzzed with excitement in his jacket pocket as they waited, the god having missed his guardian. The door opened slowly, blue eyes met his own before widening in surprise. He gave her a small smile and held his arms open wide as she charged forward, her arms wrapping tightly around his middle. Luka chuckled and tucked her head under his chin, holding her close as he breathed in the smell of vanilla and cinnamon. The smell of Marinette.
"Hey Ma-Ma-Marinette."
Marinette chuckled at the silly nickname and held him tighter, smiling wide as she saw Sass peak his little teal head out and grin at her. "Greeting guardian. It is a pleasure to see you again." Marinette gave him a small boop on the head and looked up at Luka, his eyes looking down at her in happiness. She gripped his grey hoodie tighter and leaned her head against his chest, sighing as he returned her affection. "I missed you Melody." She blushed at the nickname and looked up at him again. "I missed you too my viper." They stared at each other, a comfortable silence washing over them as they took in each other. He had grown over the years, his teal hair still as messy as ever. A white shirt with a black snake peaked out from under his unzipped hoodie, chest muscles prominent much to her pleasure. His ears each had an industrial piercing and black diamond studs in his lobe. Ripped black jeans showed off his legs, toned from his continued work as Viperion. Marinette gasped as he wore the white VAN's she had gotten him, their names written in cursive across the bottom edge. The first gift she gave them when they had dated. A throat cleared behind them and they jumped, both spinning around to meet the blazing green eyes of Adrien as he leaned in his doorway.
Green eyes met blue in a stare down, both boys tense as they sized each other up.
Adrien broke the silence as he looked at Marinette, still held in Luka's arms. "Who's the blueberry?" Luka raised a brow at the nickname and broke away from Marinette. He walked over to Adrien, Luka having a few inches over the blond. He held out a hand and gave a tight smile, sharp canines flashing at Adrien in challenge as the other accepted. "Luka Couffaine. Son of Jagged Stone and Marinette's best friend." Adrien shot his own fanged smile, danger flashing over his face. "Adrien Agreste. You sure that's all you are?" He looked over Luka's shoulder at Marinette, a smile on her face as she watched the boys have what she assumed was a nice introduction. Luka hissed and tightened his grip on Adrien's hand, drawing his attention back to him. "If I have my way? No." Adrien retracted his hand as Luka flashed him a smile and a wave. "It was nice meeting you Agreste. Marinette and I have some catching up to do." He flung an arm over her shoulder and pulled her into his side, smiling softly as she blushed under him. Marinette offered him a small wave before letting Luka lead her back into her dorm. Adrien walked back into his own, fist flying out and colliding with his television. He growled low and caught his own reflection in the screen, danger staring back at him.
Plagg flew over and scoffed as Adrien retracted his hand from the screen, the television shattered. "Oh great going kid! Now how am I going to watch Master Chef!? Tonight is the cheese episode!" Adrien pulled out his phone and quickly ordered a new seventy inch from a nearby store. "I already paid for a new one, don't get your fur in a knot." Plagg watched as Adrien stalked into his room, flying just behind to keep an eye on his angry holder. Adrien flung off his shirt and launched himself into his bed, muscles tense as he struggled to contain his anger. The jealous Chat roared in him, demanding he break down her door and exterminate the snake that had found its way into her home. Plagg smirked as he watched Adrien's internal struggle, their bond providing him access to his emotions. "Looks like someone has a crush." Adrien snapped his glare to the cat and flicked him off, teeth bared as he seethed. "Shut up Plagg." The cat laughed as he flew around Adrien's head, landing next to him on the pillow. Adrien pulled out his phone and opened up the group chat Alya had added him to, a picture from their Waffle House meet up filling up his screen. Alya had her phone on selfie mode as she pulled Nino close to her, Nino planting a sweet kiss on her cheek. A blushing Marinette sat in the background with a grinning Adrien leaning into her to be in frame. "So, what is the plan kid?"Adrien stared at the picture, blue eyes staring into his soul.
"Cats are good at getting rid of snakes, right Plagg?"

Chapter Text
She was in heaven as she lay in Luka's arms, their limbs tangled together as they lay on her bed after a long talk. He had shed his jacket, the garment thrown over her desk chair and Sass having gone to join the other kwami in the miracle box. Luka shivered as her finger traced the twin vipers tattooed down his arms, her light touch shocking as she traced every detail. He looked down at her, her bottom lip held between her teeth as she focused on her task. His grip tightened on her hip and he struggled to keep his breath steady. "Melody." Marinette looked up at him with innocent eyes, a teasing smile on her face. She knew exactly the effect she had on him and she reveled in being the one to make Luka weak. She moved against him, her toned legs parted as his own sat between, white shorts riding further up her thighs. He kept his eyes on hers, ignoring the way her pink tank top slid off her shoulders and the top of her breasts peaked out from under black lace. He cursed his height, the view tempting him. Marinette ran up his stomach, fingers dipping in the lines between his abs. "Yes, my viper?" His head dipped down and he captured her soft lips with his own, a small sigh escaping Marinette as she melted into the kiss. Lips moved in unison as Luka pulled her by her shorts onto him, her thighs holding his waist hostage as she trailed her tongue over his bottom lip. He opened happily, his own tongue battling hers for dominance.
Her hands trailed down his chest, nails tickling as she made her way lower. He groaned against her, hands gripping her thighs harder as she rubbed the bottom of his shirt between her fingers. She gave him a playful smirk as she pulled away and gripped the bottom of his shirt, raising a brow at him in question. He raised his hands above his head for her in answer and she slipped the shirt over his head, eyes drinking in the exposed skin. Years of being Viperion had done wonders to him. She trailed her nails back over his chest, grinning in satisfaction as he struggled beneath her, heart pounding under her fingers. He growled as he saw her smirk and lunged forward, lips slamming back into hers and hand fisting in her hair as he pulled her back down to him. Marinette moaned as a hand trailed from her thigh up her side, fingers brushing over the curve of a breast. Luka gripped the top in his hand and glared up at her. Marinette rolled her hips against his in tease before raising a brow at him. "Use your words Viper." Luka snapped his eyes to hers as he gripped the bottom of her top. "Get this damn thing off." Marinette moaned softly as he growled the command and complied, making quick work of the top and throwing it to the floor. He shot up and his lips found her neck, trailing kisses over her pulse before nibbling on her flesh. Marinette threw her head back as he flipped them, lips never leaving her as he trapped her under him. His teeth found her collar bone, nipping and biting at the exposed flesh. He trailed bites over her shoulders, marking her with a snake of bruises. Her hand flew out to find his belt, gasping as she attempted to undo the black leather. Luka reached down to help before a buzzing filled the room, a small phone lighting up on her desk.
Her burner phone.
Marinette growled in annoyance before sliding between Luka's legs and out from under him. She snatched up the phone and looked at the caller ID. She froze at the name.
Captain Ellis.
Marinette snapped her eyes to a blushing Luka, the boy staring at the marks he left on her skin and held a finger to her lips. She accepted the call and tried her best to calm her breathing. "Captain? I didn't expect to hear from you so soon." Ellis huffed on the other side, and she could hear the sound of multiple people shouting and the barking of dogs. Her heart dropped as she came crashing back down to earth. "Is it him?" Ellis grunted in confirmation, and she cursed under her breath, eyes flying to a confused Luka. "Where are you?" "Corner of Calloway and 23rd Street. It's a bad one Ladybug, you don't need to come if you can't handle it." Marinette sighed remembering her last reaction to a body, the sight still haunting her dreams. "I'll be fine Ellis. I'll be there soon. I'm bringing a friend but don't worry, he's one of us." She hung up before Ellis could protest and turned to Luka, frowning as he looked at her in concern. "Melody?" Marinette shook her head and grabbed her shirt. She motioned him to follow, and he obediently did, throwing his own shirt over his head. "I'll explain on the way there. Just whatever you do, don't anger the captain. He will punt his bottle if you do and I'm not paying him for another." Luka was trying to wrap his head around the whole situation, a blush flashing over his face as he realized what he and Marinette had done. Marinette called out to the kwami and they flew over, Sass curious as Tikki looked at Marinette with a serious expression. Both beings of creation looked at each other in a silent conversation before Tikki nodded and shot Sass a 'just go with it' look.
"Tikki, spots on!"
"Sass, scales slither!"
The two heroes jumped out of the balcony, hard expressions on their faces as they prepared for the worst.
Ellis nodded in greeting as Ladybug landed in front of him, a teal snake themed hero landing next to her. Ellis' brows shot up in surprise as Ladybug reach out and yanked the water from his hands before turning and throwing it down the street with frustration. He raised a brow and motioned toward the bottle. "Excuse me, but what the actual fuck?" Ladybug stalked up and glared at him, arms crossing over her chest in anger. "That's for interrupting something I very much needed. I go without mine; you go without your bottle." Ellis looked between her and a sheepish Viperion, the snake hero walking forward and giving Ellis a firm handshake. "Viperion, at your service Captain." Ellis just huffed in annoyance and pulled out his spare water, eyeing Ladybug to ensure she won't steal this one. He motioned them toward the corner, caution tape roped the scene off as police held citizens back from the scene. A white sheet was draped over what Ladybug identified as the victim, red slowly staining the sheet as blood soaked into it. "Who do we have this time?" Ellis knelt down and pulled back the sheet, fluffy brown hair stuck to a pale face with blood. The man was dressed casually, a grey shirt stained with blood contrasting with his pale skin. Three slash marks stared at her in a tease, confirmation it was the one they were after. Ellis handed her a student ID, a man smiling at them from the photo, carefree and lively compared to his demise.
"Richard Scott. Student at the University of Miami, majoring in business management. His father, Alan Scott, runs Scott Pharmaceuticals. We are waiting on his arrival."
Ladybug examined the body as Viperion scanned the area, both shaken by someone so close to their age being murdered in such a way. She looked over to Ellis, a thoughtful expression behind her red mask. "Who all has been killed? There has to be a connection." Ellis pulled out his manilla folder and flipped through the victims, eyes racing over the names. "Garcia Torez, assistant to the mayor. Liam Fulton, runner up for the spot of Chief of police. Malissa Everett-" Ellis hesitated, teeth gritting as he swallowed. "She was one of us. Put away some of the highest priority criminals. Last two are the ones you know about." Ladybug rose and stood next to him, her hand softly resting on his shoulder as he stared at the picture of a young officer, her throat slashed and gun held in hand. She had gone down fighting. She gently squeezed his shoulder and gave him a hard look, her eyes promising revenge. "We will find him captain. You have our word." Ellis looked in her eyes and nodded, putting his trust in the heroes. Viperion stepped forward with a thoughtful expression, hand rubbing his chin. "Honestly, this doesn't sound like a serial killer. This sounds like a hit man." Both Ellis and Ladybug snapped to him, eyes wide at the implication. Ellis lowered his voice and glared at Viperion. "Explain."
Viperion held his hand out and nodded to the photos, thanking Ellis as he gingerly handed them over. "None of these victims have anything in common besides being someone important or connected to someone of that level. The three slashes indicate the same killer. The way they kill and vanish without a trace is impressive but needs to be learned, the average criminal doesn't just do that. This guy is practiced and patient." Ladybug bit her lip as her conversation with Chat Blanc played in her head. "Don't get in the way Ladybug." Her head snapped up and she ran back to the body, motioning Viperion down to her. He knelt down and watched as she examined the slashes, eyes wide with fear. She looked at him with wide eyes, her face paling. "Luka..I know who did this." He looked at her in shock and stood to tell Ellis, yet she grabbed him and pulled him back down, her head dropping as she whispered to him. "Ellis can't handle this killer. He's a miraculous user." Viperion chocked in shock and stared at her, eyes searching for any hint of hesitation in her statement. She moved a finger over the cuts and frowned, remembering the feeling those same claws had on her throat. "He has the missing black cat. He has Plagg. That kind of power in the wrong hands is apocalyptic. He could level this whole city if he wanted to." She shook as she recalled the way the blue eyes bore into her, the feral desire laced with madness. Viperion shook her from her shock and stood her up, his face somber as he let her adjust to the revelation. She looked at him one more time before turning her gaze to Ellis, fear gripping her at the possibility of the captain being next.
"Ellis. We know who you are looking for."
His eyes darkened and he towered over her, fists clenched with anger. "Who is it?" She sighed and looked him in the eyes, praying he took this well. "Before we tell you, you have to understand that there is a lot you don't know. There are powers in play that you and your men aren't geared to fight. You can't fight him and if you try, you could be next. His miraculous would see that happen if he wanted it." Ellis grit his teeth and looked back down at the photo of Malissa, revenge overshadowing the anger. He tucked the photo's back into his pocket and gave her a cocky grin, a hint of life returning.
"I don't know who his next target is, but it isn't Captain fucking Ellis. Thats for damn sure. Now I don't know what a miraculous is and I'm almost out of water bottles. Get in the car, we can finish this at the station."
The heroes followed Ellis back to his cruiser in silence, neither prepared to have so many secrets out in the open. Yet, they needed him and he needed them, this case unsolvable without both teams working together.
Captain Ellis was now Team Miraculous, and they would be damned if they let anyone hurt him.

Chapter Text
Chat Blanc jumped around the rooftops in anger, tail slashing behind him. Marinette had not been to any of the last group hang outs, the excuse of spending time with Luka being accepted by everyone. Everyone but him. The emo blueberry had blocked him at every turn, never allowing him close to Marinette. The two had not come out and said they were dating, the ever growing hickeys telling a different story. Rage filled him as his staff beeped, his master trying to reach him. With a sigh he pulled it from his lower back and extended the display, Gabriel appearing on the screen. He looked Adrien over in silence before snapping, Nathalie appearing next to him with a paper held out for him.
"Hello Adrien. I trust school has been going well?"
Adrien scoffed and rolled his eyes; his patience could only handle so much Gabriel. "You and I both know you don't care about my grades or life for that matter, so cut the shit. Who's the target and what is my cut?" Gabriel glared at Adrien's rudeness but bit his tongue, not in the mood to entertain his behavior. Gabriel took the paper and scanned it once before flipping it around, blue eyes staring back in a haunting gaze. "You remember Ladybug don't you Adrien? It would seem she has decided to protect a new city. My sources have placed her at two of your contract sites. She is working together with that Captain Justin Ellis, a partnership we cannot allow to grow. Find out why she is here and end her. Kill the captain if you get the chance but he is free." Adrien stared at the red figure on display, heart pounding. He had hoped to keep her presence secret for just a little longer. Looks like the cats out the bag. With a stiff nod Adrien bowed, a sign of respect Gabriel had beaten into him. "I will see what the bug is doing here. Anything else?" Gabriel shook his head and turned to Nathalie, the black haired woman standing stiffly behind him. "Do you have anything to add Nathalie?" She shook her head, eyes locked on Adrien's. She felt pity for the boy, he did not deserve the life he lived. But they had a job to do. Gabriel cut the connection and yet again Chat was alone, sighing in relief at not receiving a new target.
He made his way back to his dorm, climbing the outer wall of the building quietly. His ear flicked as the sound of gentle laughter reached him. Deciding on a detour, he scaled to the opposite side and froze as blue hair whipped in the night wind. Marinette stood on her balcony overlooking the ocean, body swaying to the tune of soft music echoing from inside. Her eyes were closed and her face a smile of carefree bliss. His heart warmed as she was lost in her own world, the horrors of the outside not reaching her spirit. He perched on the empty balcony below her, soaking in the sound of her voice as she sang along and laughed to herself. He forgot himself in the moment, so engrossed in her that he didn't hear the sharp gasp. He looked up to her balcony and froze, blue meeting ice once again. Marinette stared down at him in shock and fear, hands clenching the railing. Chat cursed to himself and scaled the remaining space to her balcony, balancing on all fours on her railing as she backed away into her dorm. He raised his hands in peace, eyes softening as he slowly walked toward her. He stopped just shy of her and looked down at her, clawed hand reaching out to hold hers. She tensed as he took it and brought it to his lips, a soft kiss gracing the back of her hand as he bowed low to her.
"Good evening princess."
Marinette stared at him as he looked her over, anger threatening to build as the hickeys caught his attention, just another reminded she belonged to Luka. He straightened himself and walked around her to examine her dorm, the soft pinks and purples blending in girlish charm. Her sewing machine and pallets of fabric sat in a corner of the living room, clearly her design studio. His eyes landed on the stack of macarons sitting on her kitchen counter, a glass dome keeping them fresh. He felt his stomach rumble at the thought of trying one. Her parents were known for owning the best bakery in Paris, a skill he was dying to know if she inherited. Marinette's soft voice pulled him from the macarons, an unsure glance thrown in his direction. "You can have one, its fine. You must be hungry." He gave her a soft smile and, with another look of question, removed the glass dome. The smell of passionfruit filled his nose and his stomach let out a loud growl, reminding him he had stupidly not eaten at all today. He removed a pink macaron with gentle fingers, a look of gratitude flashing her way before he bit into it. Oh yes, she had most definitely inherited the skill. His eyes closed as the flavor assaulted his tongue, the passionfruit not over powering. Marinette watched him, her body relaxing as the white cat in front of her purred in pleasure.
This was nothing like the man that assaulted her. This Chat was gentle, damn near a gentleman, and had made no move to harm her. His ice blue eyes held no danger, instead laced with a kind of loneliness. She moved forward confidently, a finger jutting out to swipe away a piece of stray pastry around his mouth. Chat stiffened as she chuckled at him, a smile creeping on her face. He laughed gently with her, relaxing in the company of his neighbor. She eyed him as she sat on her bar stool, pretending she knew nothing of him. She couldn't give him any reason to think she was Ladybug. "I'm Marinette, and you?" He eyed her critically before shrugging and grabbing another macaron, biting into it with hunger. "Chat Blanc, at your service." Marinette resisted the urge to punch him, the reminder of her promise to Ellis for justice boiling her blood. The killer was right here. She had an army of kwami in the other room and Viperion on speed dial. She could take him. Yet she sat there, a grin on her face as she watched his tail swish with pleasure. She tried to block her mind but the thoughts ran wild, her eyes scanning every detail of Chat. He was by no means unattractive; he was very attractive if you were into cat themed hit men. Unfortunately for Marinette, she was into cat themed hit men. She licked her lips as his Adams apple bobbed with each swallow, his white lashes fluttering shut and the soft moan of contentment as he finished the pastry.
Chat caught her lingering eye, a Cheshire grin spreading as he strode over to her. He placed a hand on each of her thighs and spread them open, his body finding home between them. She looked at him with shocked eyes and his claws dug into the fabric of her shorts, holding her in place as he leaned down to her level. "Like something you see princess?" Marinette gulped and tried to look away, a clawed finger hooking her chin and pulling her attention back to him. He gripped one of her hands and pressed it flesh to his abdomen, forcing her to touch his body. "No need to be shy. I don't bite." His head dipped down to her ear, teeth placing teasing nibbles on her lobe. "Well, not hard anyways." Marinette gasped and arched into him as he nipped at her neck, her mind going blank as his hand came up to hold her face away from his. He growled as Luka's love bites stared back at him, taunting him as they claimed her body. Chat bit down hard on her shoulder, Marinette gasping in pain and pleasure as his fangs sunk into her skin, his tongue lapping at the spilt blood. She gripped his white hair harshly and pulled his head away from her shoulder, red blood staining his teeth as he gave her a feral grin.
"What the fuck Chat!"
Chat grinned and eyed his bite mark, satisfied as the blood leaked from the puncture. He leaned in to catch her lips, aching to feel her lips on his when the door sounded in a loud knock. "Mari! You in there girl? It's girl's night remember!" Marinette's eyes flew to the door in terror and Chat gave her a taunting grin. "I'll be right there Alya! Give me a minute!" She glared at Chat as he chuckled at her. He bent down and placed a soft kiss over the bite, shivers running down her back.
"Congratulations princess, you belong to me now."
Before she could hit him, he had vaulted over her and made his way to the balcony, a quick salute sent her way before he dove off her balcony and sunk into the shadows. She stared in disbelief after him, fingers gingerly grazing the wound. She ran to the bathroom and looked at it in the mirror, the indents of his fangs mocking her. It was definitely going to scar. He had branded her in his own way. They had just met, and he had claimed her, a possessive nature taking over him in their moment of heat. She groaned to herself and rushed to get ready for her date with Alya, eyes constantly drifting to the mark. A murderer had marked her. Malissa's killer had marked her. Miami's unknown public enemy number one had claimed her as his new toy.
And she was okay with that.

Chapter Text
The weeks seemed to fly by, classes during the day and murders by night. Marinette sighed as she studied her biology book propped on her knees, a steaming mug of citrus tea held snug in her hands. October came quick in Miami and while it was not nearly as bad as Paris, the low temperature still put a damper on her energy. Sipping her tea, her brain wandered to Adrien. The blond had slowly started opening up to her and while they weren't exactly best friends, being friends with Alya and Nino made them at least acquaintances. Occasionally she would catch him down on the beach, his green eyes locked on her balcony as though waiting on her appearance, only to look away when he caught her eye. She had invited him over for cookies on this chilly night, some company would have done her good and would hopefully mend the cracked bridge between them.
She jumped as a soft knock on her door broke her silence. She set the book down on the coffee table and moved to the door, eyes widening as Adrien's neutral face met hers from the hallway. His arms were full of different ingredients from eggs to every kind of chocolate chip known to mankind. He smiled sheepishly at her as she took some from him and beckoned him inside.
"Did you bring enough to feed the whole Army?"
Adrien chuckled and tossed the ingredients onto the kitchen counter, eyes scanning the bowls she had left out in preparation. "Well you know, not all of us have had the opportunity to bake cookies before. I was hoping you could show me a few tricks." Marinette hummed as she looked him over, blushing slightly at the casual look of the model. Loose black shorts swing against his legs as he moved and an oversized white shirt with 'The Cat's Meow' scrawled on the front engulfed his frame. He was adorable, and she couldn't stop the thought from forming. She and Luka had decided on friends with benefits, Marinette not ready to jump back into a relationship with the other hero. Luka had understood and happily accepted any attention he was given. Adrien wandered her kitchen and started organizing, his eager gaze meeting hers.
"Well little miss baker? Shall we?"
Laughs echoed around the room as they worked, the two young adults lost in their own world. Marinette and Adrien danced around each other as each worked on their own recipe. Adrien would sneak a chocolate chip from her bag, earning him a splash of flour to the face in retaliation. He would fire back with his own dollop of dough to her nose, laughing as the shorter girl failed to do the same to him. Marinette watched from the corner of her eye as he worked and she couldn't escape the thoughts of his hands as he rolled the balls of dough, wondering what it would be like to feel them on her own body. His lips pursed in concentration and his nose would twitch in annoyance when he messed up.
Once all the cookies were in the oven they started cleaning up, Adrien taking the dishes as she cleaned the counters. Marinette made them mugs of hot chocolate and slid one to him as she held up a can of whipped cream. "Want some?" Adrien nodded eagerly and went to grab the can only for her to pull it back, a flirty grin on her face. "You want it? Come get it." He grinned back at her and before she could register what had happened he pounced, one hand gripping her hip and the other her wrist as he backed her into the counter. He hovered over her and moved his hand to grab the can, a teasing grin flashing down at her. "Looks like I win." Marinette scoffed playfully and quirked a brow. "What, you wanting a prize?" He gazed at her expectantly before holding the can to her lips and squirting a dab on her bottom lip. She held back a gasp as his head dipped down, lips capturing hers and tongue swiping the cream. His hands found her hips as he pressed her further into the counter, her legs spreading to allow him closer. Marinette gripped his shirt and pulled him closer, intoxicated by the blond. Adrien trailed his lips from hers down to her neck, soft kisses cascading in the path down. His lips found the scar of his fangs, a hidden grin flashing on his face. Marinette had blamed a friend's cat for the wound, saying it was no big deal and everything was okay, unaware that said cat was watching her stumble for an excuse.
A loud chime broke them apart, Adrien's phone lighting up where it lay forgotten on the coffee table. He could see his master's name on the screen from his position and cursed to himself, promising the man a lecture on timing. He looked down at a flushed Marinette and smirked as she looked up at him with wide eyes. "I should probably check that." Marinette nodded dumbly before snapping back to reality, face burning darker. She had made out with THE Adrien Agreste. The neighbor she only exchanges light pleasantries with. She watched as he picked up his phone, his face going from satisfied to murderous. She moved from behind the counter and slowly made her way to him, soft hand reaching out in an attempt to comfort him. "Adrien, you okay?" He quickly shut his phones screen off as she got close and shoved it in his pocket, eyes hard.
"I need to go."
Without a word he spun and walked out her door, not even a glance sent her way. Marinette stared at the door in shock. She was alone again.
Chat Blanc stormed over the rooftops, blue eyes hard. Of all moments to get a contract, it was during his time with Marinette. He would be lying if he claimed not to feel any attraction to her, a possessive urge to make her his after the first time he had been in her dorm as Blanc. He scanned the streets for his contract, eyes flicking occasionally to his staff and the picture displayed. Joe Horn, a cop known for unnecessary use of force. According to his client, Horn had assaulted his son in front the man's daughter, the man refusing to drop his daughter's birthday cake as Horn attempted to arrest him for a petty warrant. His son had ended up face down in the cake and his daughter was left screaming as her father was carted away, the six year old crying for her father. The client wanted justice and for thirty thousand, Chat was more than happy to help. Chat spotted the policeman's cruiser parked near a gas station, the fat man inside paying little attention to his surroundings.
To easy.
Chat jumped down into the alley and called off his transformation. Adrien quickly tore his clothes and made a small cut on his palm, smearing the blood on his shirt. He put on his best hurt expression and forced tears to his eyes before running up and slamming his hands into the car windows. "Help me!" Horn jumped out the car and looked Adrien over, his brown eyes scanning over Adrein as he towered over him. While the man was heavy he was also tall, an issue Adrien knew wouldn't come to be a problem. "Please, I need help. These guys jumped me and took everything! I barely got away but I don't know if they followed me or not!" Horn quickly opened the back door and ushered him inside before running back to the driver side. He opened the window to the back and started the car, to preoccupied to see the feral grin on the blond. Officer Horn started to reach for his radio before a green light flashed brightly behind him, Horn's eyes snapping to the rear view mirror, only to meet ice blue eyes. Chat gave a small wave before a clawed hand reached through the window and dug into Horn's throat, claws slashing and blood spraying. Horn choked on his blood as the eyes watched him with a satisfied smirk. Chat slid open his staff and pulled out a small slice of cake with a candle. He quickly lit it and exited the car, moving to place the treat in the passenger seat. With one last look he leapt onto the nearest roof and took off, grin still plastered on his face.
"Happy birthday asshole."

Chapter Text
Marinette was not having a good morning.
Ellis had woken her up at two in the morning with, you guessed it, another body. Marinette groaned as she strolled into the police station, three steaming cups of coffee carefully placed in a cup holder in her hands. Many officers sat in awe as the French hero passed them without a care, red suit covered by a red hoodie and black sweatpants. If she was going to be playing detective, she was going to be comfortable damnit. Tikki had recommended just putting on a mask, yet without the quantum masking there was too high of a chance of her identity being compromised. Officer Halsey, a tall muscular man with slicked back silver hair and deep brown eyes, greeted her as she walked in. She had become quite familiar with many of the officers under Ellis, Halsey becoming a type of older brother to her, the man providing comfort time and again after viewing the scenes. She handed him a cup with a sleepy smile and looked around for the missing captain.
"Ellis not here yet?"
Halsey nodded his head toward the elevator, Ellis emerging with a woman Marinette didn't know. Her long brown hair was pulled up into a ponytail, the length swaying at her back as she walked. She was quite shorter than Ellis, her arms covered in tattoos and her head bobbing as she chatted at an annoyed looking Ellis. Marinette pulled Ellis' cup from the holder and walked up to the duo, a smile tugging at her lips as Ellis put his water bottle down in favor of the coffee. "Thank you, Ladybug. Let me introduce Sergeant Anderson, one of my best officers and the biggest pain in my ass." The woman, Anderson, scoffed up at him. She swatted him gently on the arm and glared, her short stature making her less intimidating next to the tall captain. "Excuse me, rude!" Marinette chuckled and held her hand out to her, liking the sergeant already. "I'm Ladybug, a hero from Paris. It's great to meet you!" Anderson looked her over, eyes scanning every inch of Marinette.
"Is that why you are dressed like a bloody tampon? That how Paris gets down?"
Halsey chocked on his coffee behind her, a fist shoved in his mouth to contain his laughter. Ellis bit his cheek and hid his smile with the coffee cup, eyes bouncing between the two women. Viperion cleared his throat from the other side of the hall, teal hoodie and black sweatpants covering his own uniform. Anderson's eyes snapped to him and she shrieked, pointing a painted nail at him. "There's fucking two of them!?"
Things just got more interesting in the MPD.
"Okay ladies and gentlemen quiet down. For the last couple months, we have been dealing with what we thought was a serial killer. Originally, we thought these killings random, but, with the help of Ladybug and Viperion, we have deduced that we are dealing with a hitman rather than a serial killer. Ladybug?"
Ladybug stood and clicked a button on the remote she was holding, images of the bodies displayed across the large display television. Viperion stood next to her with a laser pointer.
"What we say here is strictly between those in this room. The killer we are looking for is a miraculous wielder named Chat Blanc, age and real identity unknown."
Anderson raised her hand as she sipped on her own latte, brow raised. "What the hell is a miraculous and are you telling us we are looking for a murderous furry?" Viperion bit his cheek to avoid laughing, amused eyes meeting Ladybug's annoyed. "A miraculous is a magical jewel with beings called Kwami attached to them. These creatures are gods and give the wearer the powers possessed by that Kwami. These suits provide a masking that keep anyone from discovering our identity, a fact that is against us." Ladybug turned back to the television and changed the display, a zoomed in picture of the slash marks glared next to sketch artist drawing of Chat.
"This is a sketch of our unsub, Chat Blanc. He holds the miraculous of the black cat and wields the power of destruction. His white outfit opposed to the black could be clue to his mental state, maybe he is rebelling or trying to make a statement. His power of destruction is lethal. His Kwami, Plagg, is to thank for many disasters, the dinosaurs being the main one. I came face to face with him shortly after coming in contact with Captain Ellis. He is not to be taken lightly. Those slashes are from his suit's claws, a point that proves he takes a very hands on role in these killings and is not afraid to get dirty."
The officers in the room paled, the thought of a magical killer freezing the room. Halsey raised his hand, a thoughtful expression taking over. "You said a jewel gives you powers? So, if that's the case, we need to just get his jewel and he won't have the crazy powers, right?" Ladybug nodded and Anderson spoke up, her eyes scanning the drawing. "So, what is it? Cause I'm not seeing anything." Ladybug clicked on the remote and a drawing of a black ring appeared, a green paw print in the middle. "This ring is his miraculous, we take this and we take him." The room was silent, nobody moving as the magnitude of the situation set in. Anderson jumped up and adjusted her duty belt, looking around with an exaggerated look.
"Stop sitting there looking sorry as fuck! Let's go catch a magic murder kitten!"
Ellis sighed in his office as he rubbed his temple, water bottle forgotten on the table. He looked up as Ladybug walked in, her eyes hard. He motioned for her to sit, relaxing in the hero's company as she closed the door.
"I can't thank you and Viperion enough for the help Ladybug. To think something like this would happen here."
He trailed off, his eyes landing on the memorial wall outside his office window. Chat had claimed two officers, two of his officers. Ellis was out for blood. He looked back at Ladybug and gave her a stern glance. "Whatever we have to do to help you, you just need to ask. The MPD is yours to use." Ladybug gave him a soft smile before walking to the window, hand hesitating on the string to the blinds.
"Ellis?"
He raised a brow at her, her soft yet stern tone taking him out of his sorrow.
"We are partners, right? We can trust each other?"
Ellis gave her a rare smile and stood, tossing her one of his spare bottles. "Of course Ladybug. Who else is going to help me drink all this water?" Ladybug chuckled and pulled the string to the curtains, the panels cascading down and plunging them into near darkness, the glow of the lamp the only light. Tikki had been right, this wasn't just a miraculous matter. This was a MPD family matter. Ladybug flipped the hood up over her head before taking a step back, shoulders tense. She prayed Tikki was right, then again, she was rarely wrong. She let out a sigh, her whisper almost inaudible.
"Tikki, spots off."
A blinding pink light flashed over her, pale hands peeking out from under the hoodie. Gone was any trace of the red suit, Ellis sucking in a breath as the information sank in.
"Ladybug?"
Ladybug slipped the hood off as she looked up, bluebell eyes locking onto his. Gone was the hidden hero, a young woman taking her place. She gave him a small smile and held her hand out. A small red creature, a Kwami he assumed, hovered over her shoulder, watching the exchange with expectant eyes as she munched on a cookie Ladybug handed her.
"Hello Captain Ellis. I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng and this is Tikki, but outside closed doors you can call us Ladybug."
The world stopped as Ellis took her hand, a grip firmer than the first time they had met. She was trusting him, a simple cop, with her identity. He gave her a soft smile and opened his mouth to speak, a knocking on the door interrupting. Marinette made no move to hide herself, already knowing who was on the other side.
"Come in Viper, he knows."
Viperion quickly slid into the room and locked the door behind him, a relived sigh escaping him.
"Thank god, I don't know how many more questions I could answer out there. Sass, scales rest."
A teal light enveloped the snake hero and a teal haired boy stared back at him, a goofy smile on his face. A teal snake sat on his head as it looked over the room.
"Hey. I'm Luka and this is my Kwami, Sass."
Ellis stared at the two heroes. Both held their hands out, fists clenched in an offered fist bump between the three. Ellis raised a brow and Luka chuckled, the snake giving him a silly grin. "You are supposed to accept and say 'Pound it'. It's kinda a hero thing." Ellis shrugged and accepted the triangle of a fist bump, the three chorusing together as they sealed their new partnership.
"Pound it!"
Maybe, just maybe, things were going to be okay.

Drink.
Talk.
Party.
Those were the rules Alya had thrust on her as they entered the West Side Dorms, the residents hosting a 'Halloween party to remember', as Alya had dubbed it. Becca, Alya's newest addition to the friend group, had invited the pair to a dorm wide party, every unit hosting a new room full of alcohol, food and games. Becca had hit it off with Alya, the two bonding over a love of smutty books and men in masks. Marinette prayed for her sanity as she looked around the room, bodies filling every corner and finding no familiar faces. She fiddled with her black and red short shorts, attempting to hide her face in matching jacket. She had let Alya talk her into going as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, not thinking the brunette would go for the Suicide Squad version of the clown. She pushed closer to Alya as the green clad girl led her inside, Alya greeting unknown people as they made their way across the floor.
Marinette had jumped at the thought of a party. She needed an escape from her nighttime activities. Becca ran up to them, black hair pulled into a braid and slutty black witch robe hugging her figure. "Marinette! Alya! What's up hoes!?" Marinette laughed and hugged her, relaxing as she shoved a solo cup into her hands. "Demi really came through. We got all kinds of booze. Socialize and make some friends, this is the one night security won't bother us!" Alya grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the room. They didn't know many people here, but Alya was determined to change that.
Drink
Alya kept the drinks coming as they mingled, different mixtures filling Marinette's cup. The liquor burned as it flowed down her throat, an escape from everything around her. She relaxed after the third drink, her mind finally shutting down from 'Ladybug' mode.
No bodies. No cops. No murderous cat men.
Just Marinette.
She had wanted to let loose for so long, never having the opportunity. Yet, here tonight, Alya knew just what she needed. Nino had joined them dressed as Donatello and had stolen Alya away into the crowd. Marinette for once didn't mind being left alone, the alcohol easing her nerves. Another drink and the worries of her world vanished, replaced by the rules Alya had set in place. Tonight was about having fun and enjoying herself. A dark figure caught her attention near the back of the room. Marinette chugged down the last of her Jack and Coke, making her way to the person leaning against the wall.
Talk
The person sent shivers down her as she took him in, unsure if it was the alcohol or desire lighting up her body. Black jeans hugged toned legs over the dark boots. A black dress shirt followed the curve of the body, sleeves rolled to the elbow and large hands grasping their own drink. The mask. The black mask covered their whole head. The mouth was missing, vibrant white teeth flashing as the man talked to someone nearby, black face paint covering his skin. Tented glass goggles covered the eyes making it impossible to see inside, small horns poking up from the top of the mask. A tube connected to each half of the mask, as though they were breathing tubes. The unnamed ghoul was a mystery. Marinette didn't know who was under that mask, but she knew what she would do to them.
She had a thing for masks.
She walked up and swung her bat behind her neck, resting her arms on it as the figure snapped their attention to her. She waved slightly and offered a smile, composing herself as the exposed white smile grew. The figure pushed off the wall and hovered over her, the dark void of eyes unnerving her as they trailed a hand over her jacket.
"Trick or treat Miss Quinn."
Marinette chuckled and bopped the figure of the head with her finger. "Trick or treat to you too Mr. Ghoul" They chuckled together; the sound familiar to her as she took another drink from the mini bar. She offered one to the man and he accepted, hand still playing with her jacket. "I've never seen this in stores. Its more accurate than anything I've seen. Did you make it?" Marinette nodded, blushing at the compliment. He smirked and moved his hand to her crop top, fingers ghosting the edge. They made small talk, neither using names as they talked fashion and respective fandoms. The drinks didn't stop, neither paying attention as their brains fogged.
Party
Marinette didn't know how they had gotten to this point. Her legs were wrapped around the black frame of the man in front of her, hips grinding together as he pushed her up the wall of the spare bedroom. Her mind blanked as rough hands gripped her hips and held her closer, black lips catching hers in a desperate kiss. She shrugged her jacket off and threw it over his shoulder, moaning as lips trailed down her jaw and down her neck. Her shaking hands fumbled with the buttons of his shirt, hardly able to pop the buttons free as her mind raced for a rational thought.
The man turned them and threw her to the bed, standing over her with a devilish grin, a devil looking at his prey. He stripped his shirt from his body with slow purpose, smirking as she whined from the bed. He walked to the edge of the bed and grabbed her by her ankle, pulling her to the edge and gripping the latch of her shorts. "I can't be the only one showing here darling." Marinette took the order and undid her shorts, quickly slipping them off and her legs linking together to hide her laced underwear. The ghoul gripped each ankle and pulled them apart before falling to his knees, fingers sliding up to grip her thighs.
"No tricks tonight darling. Just treats."
A finger hooked into her panties, pulling them to the side and exposing her. Marinette blushed as he stared at her wet folds, face covered by her hands. He chuckled as he slid a finger over her pussy, watching as she squirmed in desire and soft moans silenced by her hands.
"Uncover your face. I want to see you crumble."
Marinette did as told and her hands moved up to grip the pillow instead as his thumb ghosted over her clit, a gasp drawn from her. She cursed herself for falling this far into a stranger, for allowing someone she didn't even know to turn her into a mess she wasn't sure she wanted cleaned. She thought of backing out, calling it a mistake and vanishing. The thought itself vanished as a finger plunged into her, curling and twisting against her walls. She cried out in pleasure as he pumped another finger into her, shaking as those glass voids stared up at her. His tongue flicked out to meet her, licking and sucking as his fingers pumped in rhythm inside her still. She couldn't stop the moans and cries that left her, hands gripping into the pillow tighter as he worked her body. He nipped her clit, spare hand reaching up to slide up her body.
"Let it out darling."
Her body shook as she came, the husky voice driving her over the edge and the tongue lapping up her orgasm. He stood back up and grinned down at her, her juices sliding down his jaw and following the curve of his neck. She hated how the faceless man grinned down at her, as though he knew the power he held over her. Her legs finally stopped shaking and she lunged forward, hands making quick work of his pants button and sliding them down his waist. He began to protest, and she reached into his boxers, cupping him dangerously with her nails.
"Don't think you are the only one in charge here."
She quickly freed him from his boxers and wasted no time taking his long length into her mouth, humming around him as his breath hitched and his body stiffened. He tried to grip her hair as she bobbed around his cock, his hands being swatted away as she took him fully down her throat. She pulled him out with a loud pop, hand pumping down his shaft and tongue swirling around the head of his cock. He groaned as she looked up at him, blue eyes shining in desire and mischief. He growled in his throat before completely undressing them quickly, hand gripping her waist as he pulled her onto the bed with him. He moved under her so she was straddling him, her wet pussy sliding over his cock as they positioned themselves. She reached for his mask and he slapped her hands away, a hiss making her body shiver.
"The mask stays, sorry darling."
She didn't have time to protest before he raised her and plunged his cock into her, a shocked moan ripping through her throat. It had been so long for her and yet here he was, taking her as if she were an everyday fucker. She gripped his shoulders, nails digging into him as he thrust harshly into her. She threw her head back as she moaned and ground her hips into him, eyes closing and mind losing any thought. She needed this. She needed him. Blonde hair popped into her head, and Marinette didn't know if it was the alcohol or not, but she found the name leaving her lips before she could stop it.
"Adrien!"
The man under her froze, hands gripping her hips harder and mouth slightly agape. She began to apologize, scared she had just ruined the moment. "I'm so sor-." Lips crashed up to hers as he thrust into her again, a new fever behind the force. His lips moved from hers to the mark on her shoulder, tongue tracing the outline of the teeth. Marinette shivered in excitement and rolled her head to the side to allow him better access, mind consumed by her approaching orgasm. Marinette shoved him back into the mattress, hands reaching up to grasp the tubes on his mask. She bounced on his cock, moans tearing through her as she used his mask as handlebars. He thrust up to match each bounce, sheathing his full length in her every time. He gripped her hips in warning, groaning as she continued to bounce on him, both quickly approaching their climax and neither wanting to end. He slipped out of her quickly as she broke over him, his cum painting her stomach as she released over him.
"Marinette!"
"Adrien!"
The collapsed together, breathing heavily as their fluids mixed together and bodies pressed into each other. Neither in their drunken state noticed the call of the other, not caring as they lay in a stranger's bed together. Adrien looked down at the huffing girl next to him, his heart warming at the disheveled sight of her. He had done that, and she had let him. He slid from next to her and stood, quickly dressing and throwing her own costume back at her. She raised a brow as he dressed and bent over her, a soft kiss pressing into her shoulder's bite.
"Thank you for the trick princess. It was to scream for."
She froze as he kissed her gently on the lips before walking out, leaving her alone.
DRINK
TALK
PARTY
Those had been the rules. Marinette had followed.
She had DRANK with Adrien.
She had TALKED with Adrien.
She had one hell of a PARTY with Adrien.
She dressed quickly and exited the room, ignoring the pain in her legs. She searched the room and couldn't find him, the boy vanishing from the crowd. She sighed as Alya ran up to her, winking at her as she took in her state. "Damn girl! Who the hell did you play hide the magic wand with?" Marinette smiled to herself and grabbed another drink, content to leave her friend in the dark. It was her idea after all.
"Let's just say Alya, I still have a thing for masks."

Chapter Text
Adrien sighed as he sipped his coffee, the warm liquid thawing his cold body as he sat in the small cafe. Classes had been slow, teachers not caring to pile too much on the students during the football season. He didn't care for the sport personally, to many people in one confined space and the noise to unbearable for his sensitive hearing. He had been drug to one, Miami vs Clemson, by Marinette. He smiled as he recalled the night, Marinette dressed in an oversized jersey and her face painted the signature colors. Neither of them understood the game, France not participating. They cheered when their team scored and screamed when the student section did, the American students guiding them along. He pulled his phone out and flipped to his photos, eyes softening as he took in the selfie.
Marinette was pressed into his side, her mouth wide in a scream and arms flung around his middle. He had smiled into the camera, an arm draped over her shoulders and his own Miami hoodie bunched up as she collided with her. That was after they experienced their first touchdown, Marinette loving the sensation of going wild with the crowd. He would do it again if only to see her smile like that again. Their rendezvous at Becca's party had changed their dynamic, neither speaking much on it. It was a drunken night to them, a spur of the moment affair. That they had agreed on. Yet, Adrien couldn't help the smile that crossed his lips as he thought back to her. Marinette was slipping through his defenses, an act that could end badly. He paid that no mind. He was stuck in thought when his phone buzzed, his master's name gracing his screen. He cursed Gabriel for ruining his peace before picking up, his voice low in the already quiet cafe.
"What do you want?"
"Look up."
Adrien frowned and rose his head, eyes scanning his surroundings before he saw them, Gabriel and Nathalie seated just on the opposite side of the cafe. He froze as his eyes met Gabriel's, the man sending him a one finger demand to join them. Adrien quickly hung up the phone and moved his coffee with him, his eyes never leaving Gabriel. He slid into the open booth opposite the pair and glared at them, Plagg vibrating in anxiety inside his hoodie. "What the fuck are you doing here!?" He whispered the comment, eyes scanning to ensure nobody was listening. Gabriel rose a brow at his bluntness before scoffing, taking a sip of his own latte. "You have yet to provide me any details on Ladybug and her business here. If you are to incompetent to do so, it was best that Nathalie and I take it into our hands." Adrien stiffened and stared into his coffee. He had been so focused on Marinette that he had forgotten all about his momentary obsession with the hero.
"Adrien."
His head snapped up to meet Nathalie's eye as she slid a folder over to him, her eyes unreadable. Adrien quickly took it, hands fingering the contents inside. A picture of a man stared back at him, vaguely familiar. Gabriel took another sip of his coffee as he watched him, his eyes hard. Adrien knew that look, the look demanding cooperation and diligence. Whoever this was, he wasn't relevant to a contract. This was personal. He flipped to the next photo, freezing as the red and teal figures stood out among the white of the police station. Gabriel clearly had men on the inside, and there was no way Adrien could lie.
"What exactly is this Master?"
Gabriel picked up the picture of the man, his face twisting in disgust as he looked into the man's face. "This is Captain Justin Ellis, the man that has been investigating you. And these insects-" he motioned to the picture of the two heroes, "-have been working with him for the last few contracts." Adrien gapped at the picture of Ellis, finally placing a face to the name. "But he's just a cop, Master. He can't possibly do anything in these cases." Gabriel frowned and shoved the photo of Ladybug and Viperion closer. "He may not be able to boy, but these two can." Adrien scoffed and took another sip of his coffee, thanking the waitress as she placed his ordered cinnamon roll on the table. Spending time in Marinette's company had given him a sweet tooth, yet not much compared to her baking.
Nathalie cleared her throat as she took back the folder, her own tea forgotten as she watched the two Agreste men stare each other down. "The point Gabriel is making, Adrien, is that the problematic duo you were warned about has formed. You were supposed to make sure it didn't, yet it seems your escapades with the Dupain-Cheng girl have blinded you to your mission." Adrien froze, his eyes widening as he gripped the table. His mind raced and his heart pounded as the two adults stared at him.
They knew about Marinette.
Adrien looked up at Gabriel, his fangs bared and his eyes cold. Plagg contained his rage inside the hoodie, a quiet curse barely audible as the god took offense to the implication. Adrien leaned forward in his seat, hands clasping together in front of him to contain his anger. "If you touch her, I swear to Gimmi I will-" Gabriel chuckled to himself and leaned forward himself, his glasses propped on his nose as he stared back. "You will what Adrien?" His tone was clipped, a clear warning. Adrien recoiled slightly, the tone only used when punishment was promised. Gabriel smirked in satisfaction as Adrien pulled away, Nathalie quietly removing the cups from in front of them. "I won't harm the girl, Adrien. So long as she doesn't become an unneeded distraction."
Gabriel rose, a crisp hundred thrown on the table. Nathalie followed him out the booth and, with a small smile his way, exited to fetch the car. Gabriel turned to Adrien and frowned, a stern look taking his features. He placed a hand on Adrien's shoulder as he went tot pass him, stopping beside him and leaning down into his space.
"Eliminate that cop. Get me those miraculous. I'd hate to waste such a talented baker."
He exited the cafe, leaving Adrien stewing in his own anger. Plagg peaked his head out from his place under the table, green eyes blazing in hatred. There was one thing he liked more than cheese and that was the baker girl that took care of his kitten. Adrien stood and stormed out of the cafe not long after, his bike just around the corner.
"Kid?"
Adrien sighed as Plagg zipped up to his face, concern clear. "I know Plagg, things have gotten hotter than I would have liked. We have our job and I'll be damned if that monster touches Nette." Plagg smirked as Adrien used the nickname, a name quickly gaining popularity with the bluenette. Adrien pulled a piece of cheese from his jeans pocket and tossed it to Plagg before pulling on his helmet, the engine drowning out the munching of the cat.
"Let's get this done quickly. We can have this done before the game tomorrow night. I promised Marinette we could go, and you know how she is."
Adrien sped off, his goal clear. To protect himself. To protect Marinette.
Captain Ellis had to die.

Notes:
HOPPED UP ON COLD MEDS AND DETERMINED!
Chapter Text
Chat slunk over the roof across from the MPD. The cold air nipped at him as he watched Ellis stroll around the lobby, alone in the early hours of the morning. Chat scoffed and pushed off the roof, flipping to land on the side of the station, blue eyes scanning the empty parking lot. They were alone, and his target was unsuspecting. Chat grinned as he quietly slunk up to the side door, his voice barely a whisper. "Cataclysm." The handle disintegrated under his touch, the door softly creaking open as he slipped in. Making his way around the rows of empty desk he froze as a low curse reached his ears, ducking behind a desk as Ellis strolled across the walkway. He looked frustrated, a steaming coffee sloshing in his hands as he walked briskly toward the conference room.
Chat waited before slipping after him, his white suit barely catching the light as he slunk along the walls. He stifled a gasp as he entered the office, rows of photos connected by red string were taped to the white board, Ellis pacing in front of it and cursing as he examined each photo. Chat drew himself up to full height, a teasing grin spreading on his face. He would enjoy this kill, desperate to please his master by getting rid of his biggest problem.
"All this for little ole me? I'm honored, truly."
Ellis spun around, his hand snapping to his side and frowning at the lack of holstered gun. Chat clicked his tongue and moved forward, his blue eyes blazing in the low lighting. Ellis took a defensive stance, eyes never leaving Chat as he backed up toward the table. Chat strolled closer, claws clinking against the white board as he drummed his fingers over the display. "I have to hand it to you captain, you are one persistent ass cop." Ellis chuckled at the compliment and raised his fists, teeth clenched in anticipation. "I take it I'm your next target? Someone wanting you to get rid of me?" Chat smiled and rolled his shoulders, hands stretching in anticipation. "You have become a thorn in my master's side. I've been sent to get rid of that thorn." Ellis smirked and took a defensive stance, his body tense and eyes hard.
"Well, I was hired to kick ass and drink water. Unfortunately for you, I'm all out of water."
Chat gave one last chuckle before tensing, both men staring at each other. Chat lunged forward, claws reaching out. Ellis gripped his wrist and spun him, sending him crashing into the table and a gasp leaving his lips. "I'm not that easy cat." Chat snarled and jumped over the debris, claws slashing as he threw blows, Ellis gritting his teeth as he tried to avoid the weapons. He kicked out and connected with Chat's stomach before he was grabbed, Chat leaning back and throwing him over his shoulder. Ellis landed harshly on his side with a groan, stars sparking in his vision. He pushed himself up shakily as Chat stalked toward him, black energy swirling in his palm.
"Let me show you what destruction can do, captain."
He lunged forward and swung his arm out at Ellis, Ellis barely avoiding the attack and standing in shock as the chair Chat grabbed crumbled to dust under his grasp. "What the fuck!" Chat grinned and threw a kick his way, white boot colliding with the side of Ellis' head and sending him crumbling to the floor. "Ladybug couldn't prepare you for me. I am destruction personified!" He stood over Ellis, teeth bared and claws flexing. He called his cataclysm and planted a foot firmly on Ellis' chest, stopping him from rolling away.
"Nothing personal Cap."
Chat barely registered the pain that exploded in his shoulder, a gasp leaving him as he stumbled backward and clutched his shoulder. Crimson blood leaked between his fingers and his eyes snapped to the door, Sergeant Anderson scowling behind the sight of her pistol. She stepped into the room, keeping her aim trained on Chat.
"Get the fuck up Ellis. We don't take losses to furies."
Ellis chuckled painfully and stood, leaning on the wall as Anderson covered him. Chat snarled, eyes flicking between the two. Anderson held a phone out to Ellis, Ladybug's number already dialing on the screen. "We just have to hold him off until they get here." Ellis nodded and raised himself into a fighting stance, blood leaking from the corner of his mouth. Chat lunged, swinging his cataclysm at Anderson's gun and destroying it instantly. He smirked as he punched her in the face, gripping her and throwing her onto the ground at Ellis' feet. Ellis jumped over her and swung a fist back, connecting with Chat's jaw and earning him a return kick. Chat slashed out with a claw, deep slashes tearing through the captain's shirt and splattering blood across the wall. "Cap!" Ellis screamed out in pain as Anderson pulled him back and swung a chair leg at Chat, cursing as he easily deflected and backhanded her to the floor.
"I'm getting tired of you. Let me show you the power of the Black Cat."
Marinette woke from her slumber as her phone rang, the Captain America theme breaking the perfect quiet of her room. She slid open her phone and accepted the call, eyes barely focusing on the screen.
"Ellis? It's two in the morning! What could possibly-."
A scream woke her and her eyes snapped to her phone. She could hear shuffling as a male scream echoed through the speaker. "Cap!" Marinette froze as she registered the voice. Anderson was with Ellis at the MPD. Anderson was working with Ellis on the case. Marinette jumped to her feet and pulled out her burner phone, Halsey quickly dialed. His groggy voice answered her, and she gave him no time to wake up, her heart pounding as she dressed quickly and called out to a sleeping Tikki.
"Get up and get your ass to the station! Anderson and Ellis are under attack!"
Halsey cursed before cutting the call, leaving Marinette to listen to the sounds of heavy breathing on the other line. "Let me show you the power of the Black Cat." Her blood froze as Chat's voice slunk through her phone; the anger clear as she heard him activate his power. She quickly called out to Tikki, Ladybug taking her place before she swung out of her balcony door. Her heart pounded in her chest as she darted over rooftops, praying to every god that the two officers were okay. She spotted Halsey from her current rooftop, his black mustang speeding through the streets toward the station. She swung around the corner and landed in front of the station, foot kicking out to knock the front door off its hinges. She bolted down the all to familiar hallway, tears springing to her eyes at the silence that greeted her. "Ellis! Anderson!" Her own voice echoed back at her as she kicked open every room, eyes darting around for any sign of the two friends.
Halsey sprinted in behind her, service pistol held ready as he caught up to her. The pair kicked open every door and cursed as they were again and again met with an empty room. They moved around the corner and came to the conference room, the door busted and blood splattered on the outside wall. Ladybug held up her hand in a halt motion, Halsey stiffening behind her and gun trained over her shoulder. She pointed to the blood and his face paled, fear flashing on his face. He gave her shoulder a pat as he moved around her, pistol peeking into the room as he rounded the doorway. Ladybug followed behind him, yo-yo held at the ready.
Both froze at the destruction before them.
The walls were littered with holes and claw marks, blood painting a terrifying picture of chaos. The conference table and chairs lay in a crumbled pile, splinters of polished wood poking out in every direction. A cough pulled their attention away and they spun, eyes finding the pale figure of Anderson as she sat against the back wall, blood pouring from deep slashes across her arms and shoulders. Halsey sprinted forward and lifted her head, scanning her for any unseen damage.
"Hey 'Rissa. We got you. Where's cap?"
Anderson let out a muffled groan as she pointed to the pile of wood, Ladybug finally noticing the blood leaking between the cracks. "Ellis!" She ran forward and began throwing aside the pieces, tears flowing and breath ragged as she slowly unburied the body. His eyes were closed, blood leaking from scattered gashes and bruises littering his face. She gently gripped him and pulled him out of the rubble, careful not to prod his injuries. She pulled him to the center of the room, laying him flat on the floor and a finger sliding to his neck, a faint pulse greeting her. She sighed and threw her phone to Halsey, avoiding looking at the destruction around them.
"Call Viperion. Tell him to get down here."
Halsey gave her a stiff nod and followed her instruction, Ladybug zoning out as she stared at the broken form of the captain. Her mind raced as she cursed Chat. She cursed the miraculous. She cursed herself. She hardly registered as EMT's rushed around her, pulling her away to take care of her fallen friend. Anderson limped toward her, the normally sarcastic girl serious as she gripped Ladybug's arm in support, looking down at her superior. Ladybug pulled her into a soft hug, careful not to disturb her injuries. Anderson returned the embrace before limping out of the room, returning shortly with a bottle of water. She set it next to Ellis and clenched her fists, tears threatening to fall. She rounded on Ladybug, her eyes digging into her as she sent a heated glare at her.
"You find that damn cat and you use every fucking method to skin him. For Ellis."
Ladybug gave her a firm nod and marched out of the room, eyes hard as she pushed through the medical teams pouring into the room. She pushed past other officers as they arrived, many shrinking away at the murderous look on the hero's features. Viperion dropped down in front of her as she exited the station, body tense as she stopped and looked at him with cold eyes.
"Melody we will-."
"Find him."
Viperion froze at her harsh tone, her blue eyes blazing with hatred. He opened his mouth to speak and she cut him off, hand gripping her yo-yo as she prepared to fly away.
"This has gone too far Viper. We have to find him."
Viperion watched as she flew off, worried for her wellbeing as she tore through the night. He ran inside to help, determined to be useful. Nobody noticed as Chat leaned against a chimney, purring with content as the chaos below him unfolded. He whistled to himself and turned away, strolling over the rooftop and launching himself into the night.
His master would be pleased.

Luka sighed as he walked out of the elevator, a pizza held in one hand and his other smoothing his hair. It had been three days since the attack at the MPD, nobody hearing from Ladybug or Marinette since. He stopped in front of her door and knocked softly, ears straining to hear any sign of life from inside. He knocked louder after not receiving any answer, a frown forming. He reared back to knock again when a click sounded behind him, his head turning to lock eyes with the man peeking out across the hall. Adrien clicked his tongue at him and looked at him with a lazy glare.
"What are you doing here?"
Luka eyed Adrien, nerves hit by the slightly confrontational tone of the blond.
"I'm checking on Marinette. There was an.. accident. Nobody has heard from her."
Adrien frowned and concern flashed in his eyes. He had noticed the lack of Marinette, the bluenette having not made a sound in days. "I can check on her with you, if you want. We are good friends." Luka gave a sarcastic chuckle and eyed him, a challenge clear in his tone. "We are a little more than friends. I think I got this." Adrien stiffened at the statement and frowned, his eyes locking with Luka's as they sized each other up. "Is that so?" The door opened before Luka could answer, a head of messy blue hair peeking out.
"Luka?"
Both boys snapped to her, concern taking them both as they took her in. Dark bags glared under her eyes, a contrast with her pale skin. Her normally vibrant eyes were dull, sadness radiating from them. Her baggy pink hoodie engulfed her and her black sweatpants pooled at her feet. She looked as though she had yet to sleep, and Luka felt his heart clench as he knew that was more than likely the case. He lifted the pizza into her view, a weak smile sent her way.
"Hey Melody. I brought some food."
She gave him a small smile but made no move to let him in, her body barely poking out of the door. "That is really sweet of you Luka, but I'm not in the mood." Luka frowned and glared down at her, used to herself destructive ways when she got upset. "Don't give me that Marinette. I know you haven't been sleeping, those eye bags don't just magically appear." Marinette rolled her eyes and made to close the door, a frown taking over. "I don't need this right now Luka. Just go home I'll be-"
"Will you just fucking stop and let me in!"
Marinette froze, her eyes darting to him in shock. Luka rarely raised his voice, but when he did, you knew you were in trouble. She looked at him weakly, tears threatening to form at the prolonged conversation. "Luka, please just-." Luka turned to Adrien; his eyes hard as he dismissed him with a nod toward his dorm. "Marinette and I need to talk. You can check on her later." Adrien growled lightly, not taking lightly to being dismissed. Marinette looked his way as if noticing him for the first time, her eyes pleading. Adrien stepped forward, drawing up to his full height.
"She said no. She will talk when she's ready."
Luka set the pizza on the floor and turned fully to Adrien; fists clenched at his side. "This isn't your business Agreste." Adrien laughed and nudged his head in Marinette's direction, his eyes never leaving Luka. "You are upsetting her. That makes it my business." Luka moved forward and leaned into Adrien's face, his jaw clenched and voice low. "Stay in your lane Agreste. You aren't what Marinette needs right now." Adrien raised a sarcastic brow and smirked, his eyes meeting Marinette's over Luka's shoulder.
"Last I checked she dismissed you, not me."
Adrien groaned as his head collided with the wall, Luka holding him by the front of his shirt and pressing Adrien into the wall. Luka glared at him and prepared to verbally assault the blond when a hand grabbed his arm, Marinette pulling him away and a smack echoing through the hallway. Luka stared at her in shock, his eyes hurt and confused as she glared up at him. Marinette shook in anger as she pointed a finger in his face.
"Just stop! Stop it! You think this is helping me!? Covering that violence with this violence!?"
Adrien watched in shock as Marinette broke down, tears falling hard and fast down her cheeks. Her breathing quickened, hands gripping into her hair as she fell into a panic attack. Both boys made to move forward when she backed into her doorway, eyes glaring at them as she tried to escape. "Both of you just take your dick measuring somewhere else!" She slammed the door, both men standing in shock before turning to each other. Adrien sighed and smoothed his shirt, moving back to lean against his door frame.
"Are you happy now?"
Luka looked guiltily at her doorway. He just wanted to help her, afraid to leave her alone in her thoughts. He looked back at Adrien and extended his hand, a sign of truce. Adrien hesitantly accepted, eyes narrowing in suspicion. Luka leaned against the wall next to him, both men staring at her closed door. They sat in a thick silence before Luka broke it, his voice small.
"I'm sorry."
Adrien eyed him out of the corner of his eye, lips in a thin line. He remained quiet, content to let Luka speak. Luka ran a hand through his hair and sighed, shoulders slumping. "Marinette isn't the type of person to leave alone when they are in their head. She gets self-destructive, whether in work or actual physical harm to herself." Adrien grit his teeth lightly and lowered his head, letting the words sink in. "If you don't mind me asking, what happened?" Luka looked at him sharply, studying him for a minute. He searched Adrien for any hint of ill intent. Finding none, he lowered his voice to avoid anyone else hearing.
"Some friends of hers got attacked a couple days ago, got banged up pretty good. It's hitting her hard."
Adrien froze, eyes locked on the door in front of him. He shoved his hands into his pockets, fists clenching once concealed. "Attacked?" Luka nodded absently as he bent to pick up the pizza, preparing to leave. "I won't say much, but just keep Marinette in mind these next couple days. You are right here next to her. Please, just watch out for her." Adrien nodded as Luka turned and walked back down the hallway, muttering to himself. Adrien turned to enter his dorm, casting one last glance in Luka's direction. His ear twitched as his feline hearing picked up Luka's voice, his breath freezing in his lungs as the words crawled into his head.
"Let's just hope Ellis pulls through."
Adrien closed his door quickly behind him, his heart racing as his mind struggled with the words. Marinette knew the captain. Marinette was friends with the captain. Adrien- no Chat- had hurt the captain. His head burned in pain as Gabriel flashed in his mind, cold eyes digging into his thoughts and pain coursing through his body. He had hurt the captain on Gabriel's orders. He felt sick as the thought of Marinette on her bed, tears flowing and eyes puffy pushed Gabriel out. The thought of himself being the cause weighing him down. He called out to Plagg, the black cat flying over with a piece of cheese.
"Kid? You look like you just saw a ghost, everything okay?"
Adrien shook his head and opened his own balcony door, checking that nobody was in the park that was his backyard. "We have to go Plagg." The kwami didn't question as he was sucked into the ring, Chat Blanc darting out of the dorm and scaling the walls of the dorm tower. He pulled his claws from the wall as he slunk onto Marinette's balcony, the cold ocean air attacking his nose as he stared into her dorm room. She sat on her couch, wrapped in a thick black blanket and curled into a ball. He reached out a hand and hesitated, unsure exactly what to do. He steeled his nerves and tapped on her glass, her head snapping to him and her eyes growing in anger and shock. She jumped up and sprinted to the door, throwing the balcony open and gripping him by his bell, spinning them so she could throw him into the kitchen counter. Chat cursed and stared at her, the ferocity in her eyes almost making him shrink back.
"You!"
Chat raised his hands in peace, trying to make his posture less threatening. "Listen kitten I-"
"I hate you!"

Chat froze, his heart stopping at her words. His ice eyes found her blazing blue, Marinette stalking towards him and her fists clenched. She stopped in front of him and her hand snapped out, the slap louder than that of the one she landed on Luka and sending his face to the side. The pain spread across his face and he turned his head back to look at her, a sigh escaping him.
"I deserved that."
Marinette fumed in front of him, hands clenching at her fists as she attempted to control her anger. She wanted so desperately to call on Tikki and attack, sending the murderer to an early grave. She shook as she stared at him in hatred, tears threatening to fall.
"Do you have any fucking remorse for what you have done? Do you even care!?"
Chat looked down as she verbally assaulted him, each word like a stab. "Kitten, I-" She slapped him again, her teeth bared and eyes narrowed. "My name is Marinette. Use it." Chat nodded and rubbed his cheek, eyes locked on the floor. "I'm sorry Marinette. Had I known you were close to the cops.." He trailed off, suddenly unsure of his own words. He would what? Defy his master more than he already did? Carried it out as planned? Marinette looked at him expectantly, arms crossing and foot tapping as she waited. "You would have what Chat? What would you have done besides the fucking hell you put them through?" Chat bit his lip, claws coming up to prop himself up against the counter, his legs threatening to give out. He looked down in shame as she gripped his bell and pulled him forward, her knee slamming into his stomach and doubling him over. He fell to one knee, groaning as she delivered another kick to his side.
"You attacked innocent people! Innocent people trying to bring answers to grieving families, families you took loved ones from! You are a killer, a coward and a sick fucking person! I had hope for you, you know! That day you showed up."
His head snapped up to her as she threw her shirt off, his bite standing out against her bare skin. "I thought, even for just a moment, that there was something different with you. I thought maybe you were just misunderstood and had good reason to do what you did. But no! You just keep hurting people!" She turned away from him and began pacing, her anger flaring as he made no move to stand, his eyes watching her. She turned back to him and threw a cold glare in his direction. "I will never belong to someone who can carelessly hurt those I care about. You want me to give a damn about you? How about doing something worth a damn."
Chat rose quickly and grabbed her, pulling her to him and gripping her arms tight. His icy eyes bore into her as his arms shook. "If you just gave me a chance to explain to you! If you understood why-" Marinette pulled herself from his grasp and jumped back, eyes hard and fists clenched. "What could you possibly say to make this okay!? What could possibly be worth all of this!?"
"My fucking mother!"
Marinette froze, her eyes widening as Chat shook in front of her, his eyes hard and his fangs bared. He drew himself back up to height and put his cold gaze on her, stalking back to her and towering over her in a sense of danger. His eyes were a blaze of emotions, regret and hurt dancing together. He gently pulled her back to him and wrapped her in an embrace, tightening his hold as she struggled against him. "You have to understand that I didn't have a choice Marinette. I didn't choose to be this, nor did I fucking want to." His voice cracked as he struggled to keep his emotions down, willing her to understand his struggle. Marinette stopped struggling in his grasp, her breath evening out as she calmed slightly.
"Chat."
He looked down at her and frowned, her glare looking back at him. He released her slowly and his heart ached as she put distance between them. She held up a hand to stop him as he opened his mouth, walking back to her balcony door and pointing a finger toward the ocean. "I don't trust myself to listen to anything you have to say right now. I want nothing more than to kill you and hang you and your miraculous from the MPD flagpole." Chat nodded sullenly as he walked forward to the balcony, his eyes low as he passed her. He could not force her to listen, yet her statement held hope for a future conversation. He pulled out a piece of paper from his bell slit, handing it to her as he passed. She raised an eyebrow as she took it, turning it in her fingers.
"When you are ready to hear me out Marinette, that is my number. No, it's not my civilian number so don't even try."
Marinette huffed but accepted the number, watching as he stood on the balcony, the moon reflecting off his white suit and his hair whipping in the wind. She pursed her lips before stepping forward, grabbing his arm and catching his attention. He looked at her questioningly as she held her hand up, her pinky extended.
"Swear to me that you won't kill anyone anytime soon. Swear that to me, and I swear to at least start to hear you out."
Chat stared at her with wide eyes before quickly linking his pinky with hers, a small smile on his face. "That won't be as easy of a task as you think, but for you it is worth a try." He stepped forward and fingered the mark on her shoulder, hope dancing in his eyes. "After all, I have to give you reason to be mine." Marinette rolled her eyes as he stepped back and jumped onto the railing, a quick salute sent her way before he jumped. Marinette stayed where she stood, looking at her hand where Chat's had just been. Sighing, she walked back inside to her phone and dialed Luka, the rocker picking up on the second ring.
"Melody, about earlier-."
"Can you come over?"
The line was quiet, and Marinette worried she had over stepped. A soft chuckle came from the other line and Luka's voice carried out to her.
"Bold of you to assume I even left the parking lot."
Marinette chuckled lightly at his antics, the laugh a welcome release. She could hear Luka let out his own laugh and her heart warmed. "I'll be right there Melody." Marinette smiled softly and moved to sit on her couch, getting comfortable as she ended the call. Her mind drifted as she sat. She loved Luka, in more than one way. He was her partner, her best friend and her biggest comfort through the years. Then Adrien had come in and started working his way into her heart, his stoic and calm attitude attracting her to him. Their night at Becca's stuck in her mind and she couldn't pretend that it didn't happen. Her mind took a sharp turn to dangerous as Chat filled her head, his earlier breakdown haunting her. She knew she shouldn't feel anything other than pure hatred for the man. Yet somehow, ever since that night he first appeared on her balcony, he had haunted her fantasies. Marinette cleared her thoughts as Luka knocked on her door and she rose to answer. Adrien and Chat didn't matter right now.
All that mattered was her and her viper.

Chapter 14: The Master
Notes:
Here comes some backstory!
Chapter Text
Gabriel stared at the picture of Emile, his eyes distant and body slumped in the recliner. He took a sip of his whiskey as he stewed in his sadness. He missed his wife, that was no secret to anyone who knew the man. The desire to bring her back had overwhelmed him, dragging his humanity behind him in the search to bring her back. He looked up at the family portrait that hung in the living room of his condo, meeting the once lively green eyes of Adrien. At one point, his son was his pride and joy, a treasure he and his wife had shared in. As Emilie passed, so did his love for his son. The green eyes and blond hair had been an exact replica of his wife and a constant reminder of her absence, a fact that drove Gabriel mad.
Gabriel thought Adrien would serve as nothing more than a haunting image until he had brought him the ring, excited and alive with the idea of being a hero. Gabriel had become elated as his son displayed the ring, Gabriel having been researching the wish of the Cat and Ladybug miraculous. That joy had turned to anger as his son refused to give it up, holding to the childish dream of becoming a hero. He remembered how his son had fought against his demands, the anger consuming Gabriel in that moment.
That was the first time he had struck his son.
Green eyes had shone back at him with hurt and betrayal, yet Gabriel felt nothing as those eyes bore into him. Emilie was all that mattered, and she would be brought back with or without Adrien. He wouldn't deny that the power of the black cat was promising, the possibilities endless. He had lent Adrien to his brother in law Colt, the man complaining of another competitor in the weapons market. Colt had accepted the white leather clad boy, Adrien just fourteen as he was sent to make the owner of the competitor brand disappear. The boy had no choice in the matter. He would put his training to use or suffer.
Adrien was just fourteen when he took his first life.
Colt had paid Gabriel handsomely, impressed with the lethality of Adrien. Gabriel had looked proudly at Adrien for the first time in a long time, the hours of pain and training paying off. Adrien had been sick that night, another 'lesson' from Gabriel removing the remorse from his mind. Gabriel had molded him into a killer, and he sold him as such. Colt spread the word among his most trusted as Hawkmoth took stage in Paris, telling all who would pay of the Butterfly and his cat. As the war between Hawkmoth and Ladybug raged, Chat Blanc made his appearance in the underground. Theft, murder, bodyguard for hire. He would do it all without question, pain the consequence of refusal.
Gabriel kept the secret of the wish from Adrien, simply explaining that Ladybug would bring his mother back in due time. His anger had boiled at Adrien as the boy had the nerve to suggest they let her rest. He had suffered greatly that night. He knew he should tell the boy the full story, yet he couldn't, knowing his son would not see the world as he did. The wish required a sacrifice, a sacrifice Adrien would never allow.
Then came the breaking of Nooroo.
Adrien had gone mental as Hawkmoth let out an Akuma, the death toll extreme. Adrien watched as Ladybug struggled under the strength of the Akuma, an artist having lost control of his emotions after a piece was destroyed by a rival. Blow after blow rained down on her, blood pouring from her mouth as she struggled to defend herself. He struggled to watch her from next to Hawkmoth, the man standing across from the battle and holding Adrien by the shoulder. Ladybug screamed out in pain as the Akuma landed a harsh blow to her ribs, her strength failing her as she crumbled to the pavement.
"Now Adrien, go and collect her miraculous."
Adrien had looked at him in hesitation, eyes wide and fangs bared. "Can't we just talk to her!? Why do we have to-" A slap had interrupted him as he looked up at Hawkmoth. "Do not question my orders, boy. Do as you are told. Get me those earrings!" Neither noticed as more heroes arrived, Viperion pouncing on the Akuma as Carapace sheltered Ladybug. Hawkmoth growled as his Akuma was pushed back, his eyes glaring at Adrien. "Do you see what you have done boy?!" His hand raised with his cane; a blow ready to land on the teen.
The claws met his face before he could stop them.
He stared in disbelief as Adrien struck him, icy eyes glaring and a snarl on his lips. "I've had it! I've had it of you, of this fighting, of you trying to bring back mom!" Gabriel tensed as Adrien called his cataclysm, charging up at him and claw stretched out. He was frozen as Ladybug purified the Akuma just as Adrien's hand touched the broach.
A long crack stretched across the wings of the miraculous, a scream ripping through Gabriel as he threw it off, Nooroo floating in pain next to him. Gabriel whipped around only to find the spot empty; Adrien having vanished. Nooroo looked down at his broken miraculous, tears falling as the kwami shook in pain. "Master?" Gabriel stared down in shock at his miraculous before crumbling to his knees, a scream tearing through him in anger. When he returned to the manner Adrien was gone, all his belongings left behind. The boy wasn't hard to track down, having nowhere to go and all money secured in a bank account controlled by Gabriel. One long shouting match later and Adrien was on a plane to Miami, a new mission in his mind. He would continue to accept contracts while Gabriel searched for a new way to achieve the goal, not trusting Adrien to have the strength to take the hero down.
Hawkmoth had disappeared from Paris. The heroes disappeared as well.
They were back at square one.
A knock pulled Gabriel from his thoughts and he called out for the person to enter. He nearly dropped his glass as Adrien entered, an apologetic Nathalie watching from the hall. He made to stand and Adrien held up a hand, green eyes dull and his body tense. "No need in getting up Gabriel. You and I are going to have a little chat." Gabriel sat straighter as Adrien strolled in and took up the other recliner, his eyes watching the roaring fire in the fireplace. Gabriel cleared his throat and offered Adrien the bottle of whiskey and a glass, his eyes trained on the ring on Adrien's hand. "Unless you are bringing me the miraculous boy, we have nothing-."
"We have a lot to talk about Gabriel."
Gabriel frowned as Adrien cut him off, his hand twitching at his side. The boy was forgetting his place, yet the physical toll of the broken miraculous had weakened Gabriel. He was no longer sure he could take Adrien as he was, much less should the boy choose to transform. Gabriel waved a hand to continue and watched as Adrien poured himself a drink, sipping it lightly. Green eyes bore into him and for the first time, Gabriel could say he was intimidated by his son. He was tall, the muscles prominent under his clothes. His eyes promised danger and his voice was a silky threat.
He had created Adrien to be this, and for the first time in a long time, Gabriel was proud of the final product.
"Well then, let's talk."
Adrien smirked and leaned forward, his hand coming up to finger the miraculous on his finger. Plagg flew out from his pants pocket, the black cat glaring at Gabriel. Plagg rested himself on Adrien's shoulder as he accepted the cheese Adrien offered him, his green eyes never leaving Gabriel. "I still say this was a bad idea kid." Adrien gave Plagg a small pat on the head and chuckled. "Patience my friend." Adrien looked across at Gabriel and slammed back the last of his drink, sighing as he steeled himself for the long overdue conversation.
"I think it's time you told me exactly what you planned to do to bring my mother back. Explain to me why my pain was necessary."
Gabriel sighed in defeat and poured another drink, shoulders slumping as he looked up at the family portrait again. He knew this was coming, yet he hoped it would be after all was said and done. He gave Adrien his full attention and sat straight, looking his son dead in the eyes. He would lay all the cards on the table, his health slowly ticking away at the time he had. He would either sway his son fully to his side or join his wife soon enough. He cleared his throat and pulled the grimoire off the bookshelf near him. He turned the page to the image of the ultimate power, the wish.
"There is a legend."

Chapter Text
Marinette froze between the doors, heart pounding and legs shaking. The smell of honey helped to ground her as an arm draped over her shoulder, Luka pulling her into his side and placing a soft kiss on the top of her head. "Are you sure about this, Melody?" Marinette nodded against his lips and steadied herself, reminding herself she was Ladybug. They came in costume as to not draw suspicion, each wearing their hoodies and sweats to provide warmth and comfort. Halsey stood outside between each door, the officer sending the heroes a soft smile as they separated. Halsey stepped forward and gave Marinette a quick hug, a hand ruffling her pigtails.
"Hey there spots."
Marinette smiled at the nickname and returned the hug, taking in his tired expression. "Have you slept at all?" Halsey gave her a sheepish look and stood back to attention, hand rubbing his neck. "A little. I wanted to be sure I was here for them more than anything. Nothing a little Ladybug coffee can't fix, if you wouldn't mind?" She gave him a knowing look and pulled out her phone, pulling up Starbucks on DoorDash.
"Coming right up. Any change?"
Halsey brightened slightly and nodded to the door to his left. "Anderson will be able to go home soon, she will be sore, but she will be okay." Marinette brightened and shot him a questioning look. Halsey chuckled and nodded, already used to silent communication with the hero. "Go on in. Just keep Viperion out here with me. You know Anderson doesn't like to be crowded." Marinette nodded quickly before dipping into the room quietly, eyes adjusting to the dark. Anderson was laying in her hospital bed, eyes glued to her phone as she scrolled TikTok. Marinette chuckled and knocked gently on the wall, Anderson's eyes snapping to her in surprise.
"Buggy!"
Marinette chuckled and walked to her bed, sitting gently on the side as Anderson sat up, her long hair cascading down her back. "How you feeling 'Rissa?" Anderson shrugged and pulled her phone back to her face, watching dog videos as she scrolled. She moved to the side slightly to allow Marinette more space, a small gesture of friendship from the snarky sergeant.
"I hurt like a motherfucker, they won't give me coffee and my doctor made fun of Taylor Swift. I hate it here."
Marinette chuckled softly and watched as Anderson struggled to do the same, her coughs breaking the laugh. Thick bandages covered her left shoulder and disappeared across her chest into her hospital gown. There would be scaring, and it pained Marinette to think of that, Anderson having to carry that with her. A quick thump on her head brought her back, Anderson scowling and pointing an accusing finger at her. "Don't even start that, LB. You can't stop everything. You came when we called and that's what matters most to us. I'm sure Captain Tight Shirt would agree." Marinette gave her a small smile and sighed, trying to push the guilt away.
"So, you and the snake boy? You guys fucking yet?"
Marinette froze and looked at her in disbelief, Anderson giving her a cheeky grin. "Anderson! You can't just ask people that!" Anderson laughed and raised her hands up, a gesture of mock embarrassment. "I'm just saying! I see the way you two be acting and you can't tell me you haven't thought of letting his snake into your chamber of secrets." Marinette cursed her pick of friends and blushed lightly, eyes traveling to the door. Anderson followed her gaze, a genuine look of shock taking over. "Oh my fucking god he's here isn't he!?" Marinette threw her hand over her mouth and glared, blush creeping steadily over her face.
"Rissa, I swear to God if you don't shut the fuck up!"
A cough echoed behind them and both women turned toward the door, Viperion looking at them in confusion as he took in a muzzled Anderson and a blushing Ladybug. "Uh, did I interrupt something?" Marinette got up quickly and glared at Anderson as she shot her a knowing look. "Just this one being a little shit. What's up?" Viperion shot her a look and pulled her to him, his arms closing around her as he whispered in her ear.
"He's awake."
Her eyes widened and her stomach dropped. She looked up into Luka's eyes, looking for any hint of falsehood. He gave her a warm smile and kissed the top of her head again, watching as a smile broke out on her face. "Go see him LB, before Anderson gets word and beats you there."
She tore out of his grasp and bolted out of the room, hand gripping the door frame to spin her around the corner. She nearly collided into Halsey as she burst through the door, tears springing to her eyes as she stopped in front of his bed, her eyes meeting his. He looked up at her sleepily, groaning as he attempted to sit up. Luka poked his head in and gave her a nod, closing the door as he promised to stand guard. She called off her transformation and knelt at his side, her blue hair falling over her shoulders as Tikki settled in the air.
"Marinette?"
She smiled as tears spilled from her eyes, grabbing his hand and squeezing. She couldn't stop the tears as she cried harder, the fear she had of losing him leaving her body as he looked over at her. "I'm so sorry Ellis." He looked at her questioningly, frowning at her as he sat up in pain. "Why are you apologizing Mari?" She wiped her eyes and composed herself, getting up to pull a chair over to his side. "I brought you into this more than you already were. I gave you the information on him, I made you a target!" Ellis glared at her and she went quiet, worried she had upset him. He took in a pained breath and stretched, his own bandages stretching with him.
"Let me make one thing clear. You did exactly what you should have. It was only a matter of time before he came our way and had it not been for Anderson, I wouldn't have made it. He will come back to finish us off eventually, and when he does, there better be a badass hero at our side. So, suck those tears in, fix yourself and get your head in the game."
He raised his fist, a smug smile on his face. "As you heroes say?" Marinette laughed and gently bumped her fist to his, a smile spreading as Ellis looked at her with hope. She would make sure justice was served, one way or another.
"Pound it."
Ladybug and Viperion walked out of the hospital, both smiling as they launched themselves onto the rooftops. Luka shot her a glance as they ran, his heart melting as she looked more alive than she had in the week that had passed. He grabbed her as they landed and spun her, a shocked gasp leaving her as he gently pressed his lips to hers. She returned the kiss eagerly, her hands coming up to tangle in his hair as his found her hips. Luka poured his soul into the kiss, teeth nipping her lip and allowing him entrance. Her hands moved to his hoodie and she pulled him closer to her, moaning softly as he wrapped her in his arms.
Marinette pulled her lips from his and looked into his masked eyes, heart pounding in her chest. He smiled down at her and his eyes shone with love, Marinette melting further into him. "I know you have a lot to handle, but you don't have to do it alone Melody." She bit her lip as he looked at her hopefully, his hands rubbing small circles on her back. "Viper, there is so much going on right now. Between being guardian and then Chat, I don't know if I can juggle anymore." He pulled her flush against him, his honey smell filling her nose as he enclosed her in his warm arms, burying her head into his chest.
"You aren't alone anymore. Let me take some of that burden. No secrets, no excuses and no hiding. We can be open. We could do what we couldn't all those years ago. If you would have me?"
Marinette crashed her lips back onto his, pulling him down to her by his jacket. She poured all her frustration into the kiss, all her pain and fears. Luka took it all, lips moving from hers down to her jaw, nibbling on the skin as she tilted her head to give him better access. For the first time, there was only one thing on her mind. There was no Chat, no Adrien and no Hawkmoth. There was no pain or anger, no sadness or helplessness. There was just her Viper, and for the first time in a long time, she was ready for the challenge.
"Viper."
His eyes looked up at her as he nibbled on her neck, sucking and licking as he trailed further down. Marinette groaned and pulled his head back by his hair, their eyes level as she looked him in his eyes. The lust and love in his eyes made her stomach turn, her heart fluttering as he gave her all his attention. She gave him one more small peck before shooting him a teasing grin, her hands roaming over the front of his hoodie and tracing his muscles through the fabric.
"You and me."
He gave her a small smile and rubbed his nose to hers, hugging her tight to him.
"Against the world, Melody."
She poked his nose in a playful manner before jumping back, her eyes shining as she took off across the roof. "Come on snake, there's something I want to show you!" Luka raced after her, smiling as she shot him teasing glances as he struggled to keep up. "What's that?" He raced her back to her dorm, Marinette looking around before dropping her transformation in the balcony doorway. She shot him a flirting smirk before motioning him inside, Luka dropping his transformation and Sass flying off with Tikki. Marinette skipped over to him and gripped his shoulders, leaning up into his ear and a soft whisper blowing against him.
"Ever wondered what it's like in my chamber of secrets?"

Chapter Text
Luka woke with a groan, body going stiff as a tongue licked its way up his stiff dick. He sucked in a stuttering breath as he pulled back the blankets, blue eyes shining up at him from the dark. Marinette smirked as she gripped him, hand pumping his shaft as she licked the tip. Luka ripped the blanket from over them and smiled down at her, all tiredness leaving him as she took him in her mouth. His hand found her hair and he grabbed a fist full, tugging as she let out a pleasured moan around his cock. Marinette's eyes widened as he pulled her further down, gagging her as he stuck his cock further down her throat.
Marinette's eyes locked on his as she let him control her. He thrust into her mouth in a slow rhythm, eyes closing as she accepted him down her throat. Luka moaned deep in his throat as he felt his climax coming, his hand gripping her hair tighter and the other wiping the sweat from his forehead. She paid him no mind as she kept his pace, working his dick down her throat and humming in pleasure as he moaned her name.
"M-Marinette, I'm about to-."
She gave him a slutty smile, taking him from her throat to gently suck on the head. "Then do it Viper." Luka groaned as he spilled into her mouth, eyes closing as she didn't let a drop spill from her lips. She swallowed and released him with a soft pop. Marinette crawled up to lay next to him, a playful smile on her face as she ran a hand through his teal locks.
"Goodmorning by the way."
Luka chuckled and kissed the top of her hair, arms wrapping around her. "That was a hell of a way to wake up, Melody. What's on the schedule today?" Marinette huffed and looked at the clock, 5:09am flashing on her bedside table. "Classes start at seven. I promised Alya we would try a new cafe for lunch so that should be fun. After classes, I don't really have any plans." He smiled and rubbed soft circles on her back, warmth flooding through him as she sank further into his side. "Good. Then you can expect an easy night, since you aren't allowed out on patrol."
Marinette froze, her eyes turning to slits as she glared up at him. "Excuse me?" Luka sighed and sat up against the headboard, pulling her up with him. "You are over worked Mari. You barely passed your last test and I had to have Sass and Tikki help me with your homework yesterday. You need to take some time to yourself. No Ladybug unless absolutely needed, okay?" She stared at him in disbelief, her mouth opening and closing as she tried in vain to formulate a comeback. Finding none, she gave a small nod. "Fine, but you can't put me on MPD restriction." They stared at each other, both waiting to see if the other would cave. Finally, Luka huffed, a hand making its way through his own hair.
"Fine. You can go to the MPD. BUT! No working on the case. Social calls only."
Marinette smiled and nodded her agreement, removing herself from his side to get ready for her day. Soon she was dressed, coffee in hand and walking out the door after pecking Luka goodbye. She locked the door behind her and jumped in surprise as she heard a click behind her. She spun and sighed in relief, Adrien paying her no mind as he locked his own door.
"Goodmorning Adrien!"
Adrien gave her a cold stare and turned on his heel, stalking quietly to the hall elevator. Marinette frowned as he walked away, her heart aching slightly as he ignored her. She rushed after him, barely catching the elevator door as it closed. She slipped in beside him and took him in, his dull green eyes focused on his phone. His hair was messy, as though he just didn't care to fix it this morning. His clothes were casual, his usual green t-shirt and blue jeans. "Hey Adrien. Is everything okay?" He looked at her from the corner of his eye, a hint of an unexplainable emotion swimming. "I'm fine Marinette." She didn't believe him but chose not to push it, knowing he wasn't exactly a morning person. Maybe he didn't sleep well? The elevator dinged as they reached the ground floor, Adrien motioning her out first. They turned to go their separate ways, Marinette pausing and turning to grip his wrist.
He spun on her, his eyes flashing in annoyance as he stared her down, as though demanding she let him go. Blue met green as they looked on in silence. Marinette let her grip relax, holding him in a gentle grip. "Whatever it is Adrien, just know you can talk to me about it." Adrien scoffed and snatched his wrist away, glaring down at her as she frowned. "No, I can't." Marinette tried to protest, the words dying on her lips as his eyes sparked with danger, his voice dipping low.
"Just stay out of my way."
He stalked off, a stunned Marinette staring after him. Marinette sighed and walked to her class; mood soured. Something was wrong with Adrien, that much she knew. Whatever it was would have to wait.
She still had a mission.
Viperion hummed to himself as he draped his legs over the edge of his rooftop, teal suit shining in the moonlight. It was nice to be out in the quiet, the melody of the city loud in the night air. He was happy Marinette agreed to stay home, calling Alya over for a girl's movie night. He stood to stretch, eyes watching as red and blue lights flashed from down the road. He prepared to jump; muscles poised when his quiet was broken by a sarcastic chuckle.
"It isn't worth your time hero, just a petty robbery."
Luka spun and readied himself, heart stopping as the ice blue eyes watched him in amusement. Chat stalked forward; staff still small but gripped in his claws. Luka gripped his lyre, body rigid as the white cat slunk forward.
"What do you want?"
Chat stopped and smiled, sharp fangs flashing and his leather tail swishing behind him. "Nothing from you, snake. You can help me though." Luka watched as he stopped in front of him, eyes meeting in a challenge. Luka's hand snapped to his miraculous, his ability on the tip of his tongue. "Secon-." Chat's hand reached out and slapped over his mouth, the other dropping his staff and gripping the hand over his miraculous. "I don't think so little snake." Luka glared and kicked out, cursing as Chat let go and moved out of the way.
"Good try. Now let's try this again."
Chat extended his staff and swung, Viperion barely dodging the blow. Chat swung at his feet, smirking as Luka jumped. He swung his foot out and it collided with Viperion's ribs, the hero rolling to the other end of the roof. He groaned in pain before sliding to the left, a white boot where he just sat. Viperion jumped to his feet and readied himself, adrenaline pumping as Chat looked unfazed.
"What the hell do you want?"
Chat rolled his shoulder's, eyes flashing dangerously as he poised himself to strike.
"I need you to send Ladybug a message."
Chief Allen was one woman you didn't want to mess with. The ebony woman was tall, long black braids pulled into a neat ponytail. She had taken time off for family affairs, coming back to work without a clue of the chaos that had entered her department. She liked to think the crimes she saw on a daily would prepare her for anything life threw at her. Murder, assault, robbery and kidnap. Anything.
She was not, in fact, ready for everything.
She rushed out of her office as yells broke through her door, her officers standing in shock and all eyes locked on the lobby door. She moved passed the crowed and looked in amazement as Halsey held a snake themed man under his arms, helping him stand and speaking quietly. The man was breathing heavily, blood slipping from cuts across his body and dripping onto the floor. She moved forward, eyes staring at the odd sight before her.
"Halsey? Mind telling me what is going on here?"
Halsey shook his head and drug the hero alongside him, whispering apologies as the motions jarred his injuries. Allen followed in confusion, not liking the situation. Halsey pulled her into his office, closing the blinds and blocking the view from curious eyes. Allen stood in the corner as the hero was sat down, watching in amazement as he and Halsey acted as though they were brothers.
"Okay seriously, what the fuck? Does anyone want to tell me what is going on?"
Halsey went to open his mouth but stopped as Viperion grabbed his arm, drooping eyes pleading.
"Need something to cover my identity. Need to feed Sass."
Halsey ran out of the room, returning shortly with a MPD hat, jacket and a pair of sunglasses. Viperion slipped it all on quickly and called off his transformation, passing out as soon as the form fell. Sass flew slowly to his pants pocket and pulled out the packet of boiled eggs, eating them slowly as he looked at his holder. Halsey ran forward and put a finger to his neck, sighing in relief as he felt the pulse under his finger. Allen watched from the side and remained quiet, feeling oddly out of place. The little teal snake looked over at her, eyes wide as it looked between her and Halsey. Halsey gave a small nod and Sass sighed, motioning with a little paw toward Allen before zipping into Luka's jacket, wanting to comfort his chosen.
"I'll lock the door behind me Sass. Get me if he gets worse."
Sass nodded and gave him and huddled closer to Luka. "Thank you, Officer Halsey. He quickly pulled Allen out and locked the door as promised, frowning at the closed blinds before dragging Allen to her office. He took the same precautions with her office and sat her down, his eyes hard as he looked her over.
"This is going to be a lot to take in Chief."
Allen gave him a stern look and motioned with a finger toward the door. "No shit Halsey. Some snake man bursts into my station, covers his identity like he's fucking Robin and, to make things even weirder, a floating snake fucking talked to you! What did I miss!?" Halsey sighed and ran a hand over his slicked hair, a headache coming on. With one last look at Allen, he began his explanation.
"You see, what had happened was."

Chapter Text
Sass sat on the counter of the medical triage room, Chief Allen staring at him as he stared back. Halsey had explained as much as he could, yet Allen could hardly believe it. Sass gave a sassy sigh before zipping into her face, his eyes softening and tail curling under him.
"I understand this is a shock to you Chief, however we have a problem."
Both adults gave him their full attention as Sass floated over to his miraculous, looking at Halsey expectantly. "While my holder is transformed, I don't know much of what is going on. I do however know that whatever Chat Blanc gave him is sitting inside the lyre Viperion uses. To get that, I need someone to transform." Allen looked at the bracelet around the unconscious boy's wrist, lips pursed in thought. Halsey huffed and leaned against the wall, arms crossed and face hard. "I don't see why we can't just call Spots. She would want to know."
Sass hissed in disagreement and glared, small body tense. "If Mistress Ladybug caught word of what happened right now, she would be on the war path. We don't know what the white cat wants and that should be brought to light before we allow her information." Allen flipped her braids and stared at Halsey, an 'of course' look on her face. "The snake is right. Not to mention I would like to know what the murder cat wants as well. You told me about the heroes and all the tiny god things, yet we know nothing about this Blanc. I want information Halsey."
Halsey sighed and moved forward, fingers grazing the miraculous. He started to slip it off when Allen wacked him upside the head, a teasing smile on her face as she held her hand out. "You have gotten to run around playing super cop and being best friends with magical superheroes. I want to do the magic thing." She looked at Sass in question and he nodded, hovering near the bracelet as she slid it off. She quickly slipped it on her wrist and looked at him expectantly. "How do I do the thing?" Sass chuckled and shook his head, fond of the human already. "You simply say 'Sass, scales slither.'" Allen smirked and struck a silly pose, arms out and head high.
"Sass, scales slither!"
Halsey stared in disbelief as Allen was enveloped in light, his grin spreading over his face as it vanished. Her braids were now teal and black, sticking up around her head like Madusa's snakes. Her body suit was a deep teal, black armor blending around her body as small scales. A thin black cardigan was draped over her shoulders, going perfectly with the black flats she now wore. The mask over her eyes made her now yellow eyes pop, slit pupils looking around as she struck a pose.
"Well? How do I look?"
Halsey whistled and gave her two thumbs up, smirking as she mock bowed. "Thank you, thank you." She looked at the lyre on her hip and grabbed it, examining it before a compartment popped open. She gasped in shock and glared at Halsey as he laughed at her. A folded paper sat in the compartment; a little ladybug being chased by a cat drawn on the front. She looked over at the sleeping form of Luka and frowned, turning a guilty eye to Halsey. "I don't know how to turn back." Halsey chuckled and pulled the other egg from Sass' pack. "You have to say, 'scales rest'." Allen shot him a look and raised a brow, a teasing smile on her lips.
"Just how often are you hanging out with these guys?"
She called off her transformation and watched as Halsey fed Sass, finding the snake cute yet disturbing at the same time. She grabbed the paper and quickly unfolding it, eyes widening as she scanned it. Her eyes snapped to Luka, fear in her eyes. Halsey looked at her in confusion, hand reaching out for the paper. "Chief? What is it?" She held out the paper, her eyes bouncing between the snake and Luka. Halsey took it and frowned, eyes scanning quickly. He paled before pulling out his phone, hand shaking as he dialed the number.
Allen watched as a female voice echoed through the phone speaker, shushing another in the background. She couldn't make out the words, but Halsey was tense, fist clenched and teeth clenched.
"Spots, listen to me. I need you to get down to the station. Something happened and there's something you need to see."
He stood as the voice spoke and his eyes rolled, a sad expression masking his anger. "I understand if Viperion said that, but this involves the both of you. Don't bother calling him, he's already here. Just get down here." He hung up the phone with a nod at whatever the response was and looked at Luka, a distant look in his eye. He rounded on Allen and his tone was hard, almost demanding. "Chief, send everyone home and get the dynamic idiots here. I know you just came back and are confused as fuck, but I need you to trust me." Allen nodded and walked out of the room, her voice carrying as she ordered all officers call it a night. Halsey sighed and prepared for what was to come.
Things were about to get even worse.
Ladybug walked through the door of the empty MPD, her usual comfortable attire on. She frowned at the lack of officers and froze, fingers ghosting her yo-yo. Halsey came around the corner and gave a small smile, waving her to follow him. "Calm down Spots, there isn't an attack. This is just something we don't need witnesses for." She gave a relived sigh and followed him to the newly repaired conference room, her stomach dropping as the memory flooded back. She couldn't ponder long as her eyes fell on a mess of punk rock clothes and police gear, her heart stopping at the bruising and cuts that littered the body.
"Viperion!"
She ran forward and cupped his cheeks, Luka giving her a small smile as he looked up at her from his seat at the table. He was tired but he needed to be here for this, Sass sitting in emotional support on his shoulder. "I'm okay Ladybug. He held back." Ladybug froze and looked around, her eyes wide. "Who?" Allen cleared her throat and walked over, her hand out and a small smile on her lips.
"Chief Allen. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
Ladybug gently shook her hand and looked around, Anderson and Ellis sitting at the table and looking angry. Halsey stood by Luka, a frown forming on his lips as he got comfortable against the wall. Allen motioned her to sit and she took the closest to Luka, her hand grabbing his and her eyes questioning. "Pay attention LB. All will be explained." She sighed and looked to Allen as she walked to the front of the table, the note from Chat held tight in her hand and voice promising no nonsense.
"Earlier today, Viperion showed up in our lobby all fucked up. Halsey filled me in on the happenings and we did some magic mumbo jumbo. Long story short, your cat man attacked Viperion to send a message to Ladybug."
Ladybug froze and gripped his hand harder, tears coming to her eyes as she looked him over. He gave her a small grin and kissed the back of her hand, the other officers smirking to themselves at the display. "I'm okay, I promise. Just a little roughed up." Ladybug gave him a doubtful look, but he poked her cheek to turn her attention back to Allen. Allen cleared her throat as she swallowed her anger, eyes scanning the room as she held up the paper to read.
"To my dearest Ladybug-
I hate to cut our playtime short before it has even begun. I won't waste your time with bullshit so let me be frank. You will hand over your miraculous to me. This isn't a request; this is an order. Every day that you don't, I will torture your sanity with those closest to you. I showed mercy by not killing the two or the snake, don't expect any more. Let that serve as just a taste. Do as I ask, and things will be easy. Maybe we can get back to our playtime, as I'm sure you remember the first time we met. Time is ticking Ladybug. Your clock starts tomorrow. Can't wait to see you at the starting line.
Until then, M'lady.
- Your Chat in shining leather.
Ladybug froze. Her breath froze in her lungs and her heart stopped. She looked around at the room of people, each of them important to her. Luka, her partner and lover. Halsey, her new stupid brother. Anderson, her bubbly and sarcastic partner against Ellis. Ellis, water obsessed man she looked to as family. She looked at Allen, the woman giving her a sad smile and gripping the note from the asshole. She would protect each and every one of them. She leaned down to Luka and gave him a small peck on the cheek, feeling him stiffen as though he read her mind.
"Don't you dare."
She gave his hand one more squeeze before running to the room window, throwing it open and leaping out. Everyone ran to the window, screaming her name as she flew away. She passed each rooftop and her heart pounded. She wouldn't play with her friend's lives. She landed with a huff on the rooftop that it all began on, her chest heaving as she clenched her fists.
"I know you are there, you son of a bitch."
Chat chuckled and moved out from behind a chimney, flashing his cheeky smile as he leaned against it. He looked her over and his eyes followed her body, their first meeting playing in his mind. "Come to talk so soon Ladybug? I'm honored." Ladybug cracked her fingers in anger, stomping toward him and grabbing her yo-yo. Chat grinned and his muscles tensed, preparing for her first attack. Ladybug swung out her yo-yo and growled when he moved out of the way, the chimney cracking at the impact. He looked at her in shock at the anger she directed his way, not expecting her to go straight to such violence. Ladybug smirked and readied herself, her anger boiling over and all care thrown out the window.
"You're right kitty. Let's talk."

Chapter Text
Chat huffed as blood dripped from above his left eye, white hair slinging blood as he dodged another attack. He wasn't sure how long they had been at it, the two wielders going blow for blow for what seemed like eternity. He cried out as a fist collided with his ribs, coughing blood as he was sent to his knees. Ladybug stood over him, scratches littering her face and hoodie torn. She glared down at him, spitting her own blood in his face as she kneed him in the jaw, sending him sprawling to his back. He held a clawed hand up, coughing as he looked up at her.
"Time out."
Ladybug scoffed at him but didn't move, eyes locked on him as he struggled to sit up. Both struggled to catch their breath and Chat felt his ribs protest every lungful of air. Ladybug stalked closer and stood over him, hands clenching to stop herself from lashing out.
"You wanted to talk remember." Chat gave her a glare and wiped his mouth, grimacing as the bruises stung and his white suit was stained red. "Exactly kitten. Talk, not identify as gladiators." She rolled her eyes and backed away, allowing him to painfully rise to his feet. He swayed and steadied himself, arms out to keep his balance. He watched as blood dribbled down her chin, slipping from her mouth. He motioned with his thumb, a small smile on his face. "You got a little something." She grimaced and spit at him, the blood splattering against his chest.
"Okay, I deserved that."
He raised his hands in surrender, wincing as his body protested. "This doesn't happen to me often, but I can't go another round." He chuckled as she blushed red under her mask, eyes narrowing in his direction as he sat back down, legs crossing and arms behind him to prop himself up. She sat across from him, matching his posture but keeping her body tense, not trusting him. "So, about those earrings." She flicked him off, groaning as her body strained. He chuckled and shrugged, silly grin on his face. "Was worth a try." She watched him as he adjusted to get comfortable, taking pride at the red and black that littered his body. Chat looked at her warily, claws playing with the end of his leather tail.
"Your friend, the snake, is he okay?"
She snarled at him, attempting to stand and failing. "Not like you care!" He hummed and looked down, suddenly very interested in his tail. "It's just business kitten. It's nothing personal." She rose despite the scream of her body, limping toward him and swinging a weak fist at him. He caught it with his reflexes, groaning in pain at the sudden need to defend himself. Ladybug glared daggers at him, her blue eyes burning as she ripped her fist away from his grasp.
"Nothing personal!? You attacked my partner; you attacked my friends, and you did it all for my miraculous! How the fuck is this not personal!?"
Chat looked down in guilt, his heart aching as he thought of all the pain he put her through. "I'm sorry." Her eyes widened at his whisper, looking at him in disbelief. "What did you say?" He clenched his teeth and glanced at her; eyes dull. "I said that I'm sorry." She stared at him in shock before screaming in frustration. She flung her arms up and turned away from him, voice raising as she ranted. "How the fuck can you sit there and say shit like that!? I don't understand you!" He chuckled to himself and she turned her glare back on him, softening as the tears lined his eyes. He looked at her with a sad smile, ice eyes swimming with unshed emotion.
"That's right. You don't know me."
She stiffened as he rose, his groans of pain filling the empty space. He trudged closer, arms down at his side and his eyes locked on her. He stopped just shy of her and held his hands up in peace, pleading with his eyes. "If you understood why I need them, if you understood why this was all necessary, maybe you would see things different." She looked him over and relaxed, deciding his banged up body posed no threat to her. "Then make me understand. Because right now, I'm ready to make good on my promise to skin you." He chuckled and looked down, frowning at the blood sliding along his body.
"As much as I would love to kitten, I think it will have to wait for when I can stand on my own feet."
She sighed and nodded, her body protesting as she tried to move back. She was in no position to fight, let alone harm him. She shook her head and pointed behind him, putting as much authority into her voice as she could. "Go. Patch yourself up and then come find me. If you honestly want me to listen, then we both need to be in a state to be able to hold a conversation." Chat stared at her in shock before giving her a sly smile, pointed teeth shining at her. "Is it you wanting to understand, or, are you to fucked up to be able to kill me?" She looked at him unamused and flicked him off again, stiffening as he limped forward. His hand found her cheek and he leaned in, bloodied lips meeting her own and mixing their blood together in a searing kiss. He pulled away before she registered what happened, blushing lightly before taking off.
"To be continued, kitten."
Alya screamed in panic as Marinette and Luka limped into the dorm, the two flopping onto the couch and huffing in exhaustion. She quickly grabbed the hidden fight kits and got to work. She called Nino to come from the other room and he ran in, glasses slipping as he took in the sight.
"Whoa, what happened dudette?"
Marinette filled them in quickly as Nino took Luka into the kitchen to clean him up. Alya made quick work of Marinette's hoodie, biting her lip as she looked at the slashes that covered her body. Tikki floated nearby, eyes glued to the scene and vibrating in anger.
"That no good, cheese hungry son of a-"
"TIKKI!"
Tikki glared at Marinette as the room got silent, nobody used to hearing the cheery god curse. She flew down and nuzzled Marinette's cheek, anger slowly fading as her chosen held her. "I'm sorry Marinette. To think that Plagg would allow this to go on for so long." She trailed off, eyes downcast at her lost friend. Marinette gave her a small pat on the head and offered a sympathetic smile. "Maybe he was ordered? Like Nooroo and Duusu." Tikki shrugged and whimpered as Marinette screamed in pain, Alya offering a guilty look as she poured the disinfectant over the cuts. Marinette grabbed a couch pillow and buried her face in it, not wanting anyone to hear her pain.
"I know girl. I'm so sorry but we have to get these clean."
Alya pushed her to lay on the couch, sliding her sweatpants off her waist and down her legs. "Nino, half naked Mari." Nino gave a grunt of acknowledgment as he worked on Luka, Luka watching from the kitchen as Alya worked. They all had seen each other in all stages of undress, being the only ones to take care of each other. Her cure typically would take care of everything, but some things happen after the fact and the team learned enough medical knowledge to handle each other. Alya wrapped bandages soaked with ointment onto the cuts, whispering apologies as Marinette groaned in pain. Tikki hovered over her, eyes glancing over every cut.
"I can help a little Marinette. I can heal what would be visible and help with the pain of what isn't. I'm sorry I can't do much more without risking a catastrophe."
Marinette offered her a teary smile as Tikki flew to her cheek, small red paw reaching out to cover a cut. Marinette sighed in relief as thew pain in her face faded with each touch, missing Alya's gasp of wonder. Tikki worked her way over every injury, concentration etched on her small face. By the time she finished there was nothing on her face, only the bandages underneath her chest and the ache of her body remaining. She gave Tikki a kiss on the head and shot her a cheeky smile.
"Whatever you want Tikki, I'll bake it. I owe you a million."
Everyone chuckled as the god blushed and zipped over to check on Luka. Alya helped her to her feet and grabbed her under the arms, walking her slowly toward the bathroom. "Okay boys, we are going to get Mari a shower. Yell if you need anything." The boys nodded, watching as Marinette was led away to the bathroom. Nino gave Luka a knowing look, eyes glancing over his injuries.
"Are you okay dude?"
Luka nodded and sighed, his body begging for sleep. "I'm fine. The officers took pretty good care of me." They sat in silence as Nino finished, the girls joining not long later with a clean Marinette. Luka rose and gave her a small peck on the cheek, eyes scanning every inch of her. She gave him a reassuring pat on the arm and set the box she carried down on the table, a frown taking over as she motioned everyone to sit in the living room. Alya's eyes bulged as Marinette lifted the red oval box, black spots wrapping all the way around.
The miracle box.
She punched in her code and chuckled as Nino and Alya froze, eyes locking onto their miraculous'. Marinette picked them up, holding them out to be taken. "We need Rena and Carapace." They happily accepted and slipped them on. Nino couldn't contain his excitement as Wayzz emerged from the turtle bracelet, the small green turtle fist bumping the DJ. "Good to see you again, Master Nino." Alya tried to hold in her tears as Trixx emerged from her foxtail necklace, the orange fox colliding with her cheek in happiness. "Alya!" Tikki and Sass zipped over to say hello, the holders smiling as the gods reunited. Marinette hated to break it up so soon, but she knew they had no choice.
"Listen up."
All eyes snapped to her, Marinette's heart pounding. Suddenly it wasn't her friends and boyfriend staring at her. It was her team; it was THE team. She smiled as Luka wrapped her in his arms, a comfort she couldnt get enough of. "Chat Blanc has threatened all of us. He made it clear that he wants my miraculous and will go to any length to get it. Obviously, we aren't giving it to him." The others laughed around her, suddenly feeling like kids against Hawkmoth. "We may have miraculous, but the other key players don't. Alya, you and Nino don't have to be involved. I know you left the life behind, but I don't think I can do this without you." The couple looked at her with grins, fist bumping each other. "Are you kidding girl? We missed it since the day we gave up the miraculous." Marinette sighed in relief and relaxed into Luka, glad to have the people around her.
"Then here's the plan."

Chapter Text
Adrien limped from his bed, body screaming in protest as he made his way to the kitchen. Ladybug had kicked his ass more than he had expected, the girl clearly having not skipped training through the years. He made himself a cup of coffee before plopping on his couch, not bothering to move any blanket or pillow out of his way. Plagg watched him with a satisfied smirk, the cat taking small joy in his kitten's despair.
"So, you gonna try that again?"
Adrien shot him a cold glare and clicked his tongue, not in the mood for his snark. "Of course I am. We have a job to do." Plagg rolled his eyes and zipped to the counter, taking the cheese Adrien had put out for him. "You know, you could always say no. I mean, sure its your mom and all, but there are better ways to go about this." Adrien eyed him and sighed, placing his coffee down and staring at Plagg. "Like what Plagg? Master needs the wish to bring her back. Nothing else can." Plagg hovered in thought before a big grin spread on his face, his eyes looking to the door. Adrien had a feeling he wasn't going to like his answer.
"I could go see the guardian, with your permission of course."
Adrien's heart flipped as he registered the words.
Guardian.
Ladybug.
He thought for a moment before holding his hand out, a silent order for Plagg to come. Plagg sat himself in the open palm and looked up at him with big green eyes, determination shining in the orbs. "Nobody would know kid. Your master would have no clue and I could be there and back without being followed. It's perfect!" They stared at each other, both now shaking with excitement. Adrien gave a sigh before giving him a firm nod, his eyes taking life as he watched his black cat zip around in joy. He collided with Adrien's cheek and purred loudly, Adrien having not seen this side of him in years.
"Thank you, Adrien! You won't regret this!"
Adrien chuckled as Plagg zipped away, full faith in his best friend.
He trusted Plagg with his life.
Marinette couldn't contain her laughter as Luka grabbed her from behind, flour being smushed into her hair. They were making good on their promise to Tikki, making the small god an assortment of treats. Marinette leaned her head back to shoot him a mock offended look, Luka bending down to catch her lips with his. His hands found her hips and she moaned into him as they trailed up her sides, cupping around the curve of her breasts. Her head fell to the side as he nipped at her neck, teal hair tickling her ears. A hand moved south, thumb looping into the waist band of her shorts.
They jumped apart as something collided with the jar of flour, flour poofing everywhere and covering the two lovers. They readied themselves, jumping into defensive stances and scanning the area. A sneeze from the counter got their attention, Marinette staring in shock and humor as the god of destruction tried to wipe the flour from his body.
"Uh, a little help here guardian."
Marinette grabbed a damp towel and gently wiped off his body, Plagg purring in thanks before sitting on the counter. Luka stood wide eyed as he stared at the cat, his mind reeling. "Melody, that's..." Marinette nodded and Plagg looked up at her with a sad smile. "It's nice to finally meet my Sugar Cube's holder." As though summoned, Tikki came barreling out of Marinette's room. Her small body collided with the cat and her eyes were wide with rage as she smacked him with her small paw.
"You absolutely irresponsible pain in the ass!"
Plagg covered his head with his paws, looking at Marinette for help. Marinette sighed and called out for Tikki, unsure if the creation god would listen. "Tikki, leave Plagg alone." Tikki shot her a glare but backed off, red body vibrating as she glared at Plagg. Luka chuckled as Sass hissed in anger, the snake waking from his spot on the sunlit window.
"You have some nerve showing up here!"
"Thats what I said!"
Marinette pinched the bridge of her nose and yelled out, getting everyone's attention. "That is enough! We can't judge Plagg for the actions of his owner! That would be like blaming Nooroo! Now shut up, everyone, and let's see why he's here already!" They all got quiet and nodded, apologetic looks sent her way. The guardian version of Marinette was scary, and they didn't plan to see her much. Plagg gave her a thankful smile and floated up to her, rubbing his cheek to hers. Marinette chuckled and gave him a small pat, glad to see the god.
"I was given permission from my owner to come here. I have a request."
She looked at Plagg with questioning eyes, the god fiddling with his tail. She motioned for him to continue, curious as to what exactly could be so important. "Well, I know that my owner has kind of slipped on why he was doing what he's doing. That is only part of the story. Moral of the story, I'm sick of my kitten being hurt and used by his so-called master. I need your help in getting him to be what he was chosen to be." Everyone was silent as he spoke, his normally joking tone gone and his eyes hard. He was serious, and a serious Plagg meant that the situation was dire.
"What can you tell me Plagg?"
Plagg returned to Adrien later that day, his tail happily flicking behind him. Adrien raised a brow as he floated over and quietly settled himself on his chosen's chest as he lay in bed. Adrien cupped him gently and looked at him, not used to seeing the god so happy.
"I take it that everything went well with the guardian?"
Plagg nodded and purred against his chest, a smirk on his small face. "Of course, did you think she could say no to such a cute face?" Adrien could tell there was more, his eyes narrowing at the cat. "What did you do?" Plagg gave him a cheeky grin and shrugged, green eyes full of mischief. "Nothing against the kwami rules." Adrien felt his blood freeze as Plagg played his word games, knowing the god enough to see the other side of the story. "And master's rules?" Plagg shot him a wider smirk and sat up, tail flicking behind him and laughing quietly.
"Last I checked, I was bound to you Adrien. Your master isn't mine, and you gave me no order."
Adrien stared at him before his phone chimed, an unknown number popping up. He grabbed it and looked down, eyes widening as he read the message.
Tomorrow. Midnight. Our spot. Be there. -LB
He glared over at Plagg, his hand shaking as he typed a quick confirmation. "What did you do Plagg!?" Plagg laughed and flew from Adrien's reach, bowing as Adrien chased after him. "I promised you I would help you, Adrien. I'm doing just that." Adrien felt his heart melt at the dedication of his friend. "What did you tell her?" Plagg smiled and rolled in circles in the air, chasing his own tail. "Nothing revealing, but she got some background info and I think now you may not be as much a monster in her eyes." Adrien sighed and flopped back on his bed, cursing the god in his mind.
"Adrien."
He looked back up at Plagg, the cat having stopped and giving him a serious look. "I told you when all this started, I would help you. I need you to trust me. We are better than this." Adrien felt tears prick his eyes as he rolled over, burying his face in his pillow. Suddenly he felt fourteen again, alone and small in a world he didn't understand.
"I'm scared Plagg."
Plagg came to settle next to him, nuzzling his way against Adrien's neck and purring lightly. Adrien cried soft tears as his mind wandered back to his conversation with Gabriel, all confidence leaving him once he confronted the man. The bombs he had dropped on the young man had blown a hole in his resolve, Adrien finding himself more scared than ever. Plagg licked a stray tear, chuckling as Adrien gave him a grossed out look. "It's going to be okay kid. We won't let him do it." Adrien cried harder as he gripped the pillow. His body hurt from the fight, his mind hurt from his master and his heart hurt above all. Love had long since left him, Adrien never feeling the emotion since his master began his plan.
"Plagg?"
Plagg looked up at him, a brow raised as Adrien's crying slowed. Adrien looked down at him with a mix of hope and sadness, praying his friend would be honest and truthful. "Will they accept it?" Plagg was confused but shrugged, increasing his purr. "You need to be a little more specific kid." Adrien sighed and placed a hand over his heart, the hard beating and warmth of his body reminding him of his own existence.
"Will they accept me, as a sentimonster?"

Chapter Text
One step.
Two step.
A step in the right direction.
Left.
Right.
Keep your head forward.
Up.
Down.
Stay centered on the task.
In.
Out.
Breathe.
Chat fumbled with his tail as he stood on the roof, the moon high above reflecting off his suit. He was nervous. Ladybug had requested his presence, and he would be lying if he said that didn't terrify him. He knew she had no reason to care for him or his dilemma. He had done atrocious and inexcusable acts. He was a villain. He was a monster.
Monster.
That word ran through his head like a freight train, every thought pushed away to make room for the undeniable truth. He was a sentimonster, a literal monster. His hands clenched as the years ran through his mind. He could never say no once his master put force behind his words. He could never disobey what his master truly wanted. Chat shook as he thought of the silver ring on the man's finger, the key to his existence. His blood boiled as the implications prodded him.
He had no free will.
True he could make his own choices and even tell his master no, yet all it took was one touch. One concrete demand from the man he used to call father would reduce him to a puppet, a means to a selfish end. He had lashed out when Gabriel dropped the bomb, throwing anything in sight and standing over the tired man. He had screamed it wasn't true. He was a human, a human with free will and his own destiny. He was ready to slam his fist into Gabriel's face before the man smirked at him, a finger grazing the wedding band.
He was ordered to sit.
He sat.
He was ordered to calm down and listen.
He did just that.
A thud jarred him from his memory, a glimpse of red catching his eye and his heart stopping.
Ladybug.
She stared at him from a distance, arms crossed and stoic expression firmly set. He dropped his tail and slowly walked to her, eyes low and body tense. He didn't know what to expect, and she showed no signs of any emotion. She watched him as he stopped in front of her, never taking her eyes from him. He gulped and looked up into her eyes, trying to make himself small.
"Uh..Hey."
She gave him a nod and motioned for him to sit, dropping onto the roof and crossing her own legs. He followed suit, taking slow movements. She watched him get comfortable, Chat grunting in pain as he dropped down. He shot her a glare as she smirked at his discomfort, his eyes taking in the lack of injury on her.
"Aw. Did I hit you to hard kitty cat?"
He growled but let it go, reminding himself he had to play nice. She brushed a stray strand of hair from her eyes and faced him, expression softening slightly. "We need to actually talk. No fighting. No threats. Just understanding." He nodded, expecting this after Plagg's little adventure. The cat had refused to tell him what he had said, Adrien not having the heart to order the god into spilling.
He refused to order him.
Ladybug eyed him before speaking, her voice low. "I'll make you a deal." Chat looked at her, eyes narrowing. "Oh yeah?" She nodded and held her hand out, offering a handshake. "I promise to let you talk and to actually listen. I want to hear it from you, not your kwami. However, I want you to be honest with me. You won't get this chance again if you try to take my miraculous." He stared at her in shock, his heart swelling as she spoke. She was willing to listen? He shook her hand quickly; afraid she would take her offer back.
"You have a deal, kitten. What do you want to know?"
She eyed him carefully in thought, finger gliding over her lip as she thought. "Let's test your honesty. Don't forget I already talked to Plagg." He nodded and motioned her to continue. "How old are you?" "Nineteen." She gasped as the answer came out quick, no hesitation in him. She nodded and continued. "Why do you work for Hawkmoth?" His eyes snapped to hers and his body went still. He cursed Plagg in his head, vowing to only feed him cheddar for a month. Of course, he told Adrien he had given her 'background info'. He just hadn't expected this.
"That is a complicated question."
Ladybug clicked her tongue and frowned, eyes narrowing. "Honesty remember? You want me to believe you aren't the bad guy, so explain why you work for my big bad." He bit his lip and looked down, fear creeping in. Would she look at him differently? Would she accuse him of lying? Would she abandon him here and now? He was diving into his doubts, shoulders shaking and head spinning and panic set in. Ladybug gripped him by the shoulders, blue eyes clouded with worry as she shook him.
"Chat. Chat!"
Panicked eyes snapped up to her, darting over her features and looking for threat. His mind was a mess, memories and phantom pain fighting for his focus. He couldn't breathe. He needed to go. He needed to-
Warm arms wrapped around him, a hand tangling into his hair and burying his face into a shoulder. "Chat. Calm down." He instantly wrapped his own arms around her, holding her for dear life and his face finding its way into the crook of her neck. He breathed her in with every shaking breath, the sweet smell of chocolate filling his nose. He willed his mind to stop, to pull himself together and get through the night. He pulled back from her and kept his eyes low, ashamed as tears sprinkled down his cheeks. He felt pathetic. A red finger reached out and caught his tears, a small smile on the hero's face.
"I'm sorry. Plagg said it was bad, but I didn't think..Im sorry."
He shook his head and wiped his tears, straitening himself and giving her a determined look. "There is a lot to unpack with that. We would be here a while." She chuckled and pulled out her yo-yo, portal opening and her hand dipping in to pull out a small bag of cookies. "We have all night Chat." She handed him a chocolate chip cookie and he bit into it gently, eyes lighting up in delight. "This is really good!" She chuckled and nibbled on her own. "Thank you. If you can't answer, we can-"
"NO!"
She jumped at his voice, eyes widening as he stared at her with hard eyes. "I want you to trust me. I want to earn trust with you. I owe it to you." She nodded and held her hand up in apology, relaxing as he sighed.
"When I was fourteen.."
Her heart ached as he told his tale of his indoctrination. So many emotions filled her as he proved the kwami right. He told no lie. That fact alone broke her heart. He deserved none of it. He didn't deserve the pain. The fear. The abuse. She looked at him sadly as he nibbled on another cookie, claws shaking as he finished his tale.
"I never wanted this Ladybug; I hope you understand that. I was ready to let this all go, be free. But then... he told me about my mom and the wish. You understand why that would be important right?" She nodded, she understood, she really did. To have the chance to bring a loved one back would drive anyone to extremes. She sighed as she placed a soft hand on his shoulder. "Chat, while it would be great to bring her back, someone would have to die." He kept his gaze down as she spoke, teeth clenching. "I know. He knows. But if there is even a chance."
Ladybug stood and brushed crumbs from her suit, eyes sad. "I want to help you, I really do. We can find a way to resolve this, but I can't give you my miraculous." Chat growled and stood, eyes darkening as he stalked to her. "After everything, you still won't help!?" She glared and squared her shoulders, body ready. "I didn't say I wouldn't help. I simply said I wouldn't be going along with Hawkmoth's twisted plan to use the wish. I can ask the celestial guardian and-"
He was on her in an instant, hands gripping her forearms and his face inches from hers. His ice eyes bore down at her as he bared his teeth and his claws sunk into her skin. She kicked out, attacking his shin and making him backup. He lunged forward, tackling her to the ground and hovering over her. He had poured his soul to her, told her his darkest memories and let her in. He growled as his lips slammed down onto hers, one hand gripping her waist and the other capturing her wrists. He couldn't explain the desire he had to have her on him, as though finally letting someone in let his inner beast free.
She struggled under him; eyes wide as his teeth found her lip. His claws dug into her hip and she couldn't stop the moan that escaped. She blushed as he pulled away and stared at her, eyes curious as he toyed with her hip again and pulling the noise from her. He grinned ferally and attacked her lips again, biting her lip to grant him access. Their tongues battled as she squirmed under him, heart pounding and heat flooding her. "Chat, stop." He refused to hear her, his body pressing into hers and his hand pulling her hips to his. He groaned into her mouth as she pressed against him, the bulge in his suit evidence of his desire for her.
His lips parted from hers, trailing down her jaw and neck as he explored everything not covered in red spandex. A hand fisted in her hair as he kept her still, growling as she tried to remove herself from him. He sucked and nipped at the exposed skin, dragging his tongue over the skin as he drank in her taste. She tasted familiar, yet he couldn't place it, the thought not important in his mind. A hand rimmed the side of her breast, smirking as she moaned under him. He kissed down her shoulders, unknowingly grazing his mark. Ladybug froze under him and her eyes widened, her body heating at the feeling. She pushed against him, legs lifting him and kicking him back. He watched her get up and stare at him, eyes unreadable.
"No."
His eyes narrowed and he straightened himself. "What do you mean no?" She huffed and fixed herself, hair pushed back and wiping his saliva from her neck. "I am happily taken, thank you. I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong idea." He stiffened and his fangs clashed together. He stalked forward and hovered over her, her defiant gaze meeting his stare. "By the snake?" She nodded, frowning as he looked at her thoughtfully. Chat chuckled and stepped back, two finger salute sent her way. "We will see about that, kitten." He jumped from the roof, leaving Ladybug alone. She stood in shock at his sudden departure, body still hot from his attention.
Her mind played all the information in her mind, his tragic past hurting her. She would find a way to help him without bloodshed. She pulled her yo-yo out and dug through the portal, pulling out her compact mirror and inspecting herself. Little bruises covered her neck, Ladybug growling as she looked herself over. She was going to kill him.
"That mangy stray!"

Ladybug sighed as she looked out at the room of officers, fiddling with her hoodie as all eyes were on her. Ellis was glaring at her, his bottle clenched tightly in his fist as Anderson tried to calm him down. Allen looked around in confusion as everyone stared at the hero.
"So, let me get this straight. You held a therapy session with the murder kitten. The murder kitten is an abused kid with Stockholm syndrome, and you think there is a chance to help him?"
Ladybug nodded and bit her lip, questioning her idea to bring it forward. Allen looked around the room and jerked a finger at Anderson. "What do you think?" Anderson pointed a finger at herself, confusion on her face. "Me?" Allen rolled her eyes and flipped her braids, a sassy tone lacing her voice. "No, the other lesbian in the room. Yes you! You and Ellis both got your asses kicked by him so it's up to you how we are gonna do this." Anderson looked over at Ellis who just rolled his eyes, already over it all.
"I would say let LB take care of it. If she thinks it is a good idea, then so do I."
Ladybug smiled affectionately and gave her a thumbs up, happy she was on her side. "So, speaking of letting me handle things." All heads snapped to her, brows raised and Halsey smirking, the man already knowing what was going to happen. Ladybug snapped and the door to the conference room opened, Rena and Carapace strutting in. Anderson chocked on her coffee as the two walked in, eyes bouncing between all the heroes. "How many of you are there!?" Carapace smirked and jabbed a thumb at Anderson, the green turtle hero amused.
"Wait until she has to meet Bunnix."
"Fucking who!?"
The room laughed as Anderson grumbled about there being more and buried herself in her jacket. Ellis raised a brow and stood with Allen, the two walking to stand in front of the heroes. Allen looked Rena over and smirked, eyes scanning every curve of the fox themed hero. "Gotta say, I like your style." Rena smiled and looked at Ladybug, a no question look on her face. "I want this one." Allen looked confused and Ladybug rolled her eyes. Carapace held his hand out to Halsey, the older man fist bumping him back. "Sweet shell dude." Carapace smirked and nodded, making the same statement as Rena. Ellis raised his hand and looked around, not liking what was happening.
"Care to fill us in as to why we are being claimed?"
Rena laughed and stepped forward, putting a hand on Ladybug's chest and pushing her top sit in a chair. "I got this one girl." Ladybug began to protest but she shot her a glare, finger on the bluenette's lips. "Ladybug came up with the idea that we form a protection detail. You guys don't have a miraculous and therefore are an easy target if Chat Blanc follows through on his threat. We are used to fighting Hawkmoth. My name is Rena Rouge, and I will be protecting you Chief Allen." Carapace held his hand up, smirking at Halsey. "I'm Carapace! I got you, Halsey bro." Ladybug looked at Anderson and gave a wave, excited for the girl's reaction.
"I'm your personal guard dog, 'Rissa."
Anderson yelled in joy and hugged her, pulling out her phone and pulling up her browser. "Oh, we are going to get so lit!" A chuckle sounded from the door and they all spun, Rena glaring as Viperion laughed. "If you don't stop that ninja act! I will turn you into boots!" Viperion stepped into the room and gave an apologetic smile, laughing as Rena threw a mock slap his way. "Sorry Rena, I couldn't help it. Ellis." The captain looked at him, smirking as the snake hero stepped forward. He threw Ellis the water he brought him, Ellis nodding his approval. "That leaves the two of us, Cap."
Ladybug smiled as the pairs talked, fumbling with a bag in her hoodie pocket. She pulled out burner phones and passed them around, everyone giving her confused looks. She shrugged and handed Anderson hers. "We still have civilian lives outside the suits. We can't be with you all the time. These make it so we can reach each other no matter what time. Everyone's number is already programmed in." Everyone smiled in appreciation. Ladybug felt confidence as they all talked and got to know each other, confident that this would work.
It had to.
Adrien hummed to the music as he made a sandwich, Plagg dancing around his head with a piece of cheddar. His kiss with Ladybug kept replaying in his mind. The way her lips molded to his. The feel of her under him. His hackles raised as he remembered her words. The words that pricked him.
She had a lover.
He squeezed the Mustard a little too hard and it splattered everywhere, Plagg looking on in disgust. "Geez kid, calm down! What's gotten into you?" Adrien cleaned up his mess and fixed his sandwich, teeth bared. "Plagg, is it normal to be jealous over someone I don't know because they have someone I equally don't know?" Plagg chuckled and gobbled up the last of his cheese, smirking at his holder. "You two are two halves of a whole. My kittens are meant to be with Tikki's bugs. Your so-called master put a hold on that though." Adrien sighed and flopped down on the couch, munching on his sandwich.
"What about if I like someone else as well?"
Plagg laughed and settled on the back of the couch. "Don't worry kid. Just let things play out. You never know the luck that can come your way." Adrien laughed and booped Plagg on the head, the cat waving a little paw at him.
"Thanks, Plagg."
"Anytime kid."
Luka was quiet as they returned to Marinette's dorm, his eyes focused on the back of her head. She rounded on him when they entered, her eyes challenging him.
"Okay Viper, spill. What is your deal?"
Luka frowned and looked away from her, hands tucked in his pockets. Marinette came closer and wrapped her arms around him, her eyes worried. "Did I do something wrong?" Luka sighed and looked at her, his hand coming to cup her chin. "It isn't what you did Melody. It's what he did." She furrowed her brow as he licked his hand and swiped it over her neck, her makeup vanishing to reveal the dark bruises. She looked at him quietly as he looked down at her, his eyes sharp.
"I know every curve of your body. Every freckle. Every mark."
Marinette looked at him with clouded eyes as he stared at her, his lips a thin line. "Luka. I swear it meant nothing. He just attacked." Luka eyed her and grabbed her hand, placing it to her own heart. "I won't pretend to believe that I'm the only one you have feelings for Melody. I know about you and Adrien at the party, and I know about what Blanc did to you. I know how your heart races and your body heats up around me. I know how your tune changes around Adrien and I know how your control leaves around Blanc."
Marinette stood frozen in his arms as he leaned down to kiss her, his lips pressed lightly to hers and his arms snaking further around her. She leaned into him as he held her, her body reacting just as he said it would. They pulled apart and he gave her a small smile, his voice low and husky. "I talked to Tikki about the cat miraculous. You shouldn't feel shame about how you are around him, its natural between the two." His hand reached up to brush her hair behind her ear, sliding it down her neck and over her shoulder. He fingered the imprint of the fangs, eyes unreadable.
"Seems he is starting to figure that out to a degree."
She gave him a shocked look and he just smiled at her; a brow raised. "Did you honestly think I would buy the cat story? Come on now, Melody." She chuckled and gave him a suggestive smile, finger coming up to play with his bottom lip. She poked the end of his own fang like canines, Luka looking at her in question. She threw her shirt over her head and held back a laugh at his choked gasp. She ran a hand over her unmarked shoulder, a brow raised and a hand pulling him closer by his belt. She reached up to cup the back of his head, dragging his head down to her collar bone.
"Are you gonna let me belong to him? Or to you?"
He moved forward before she could get an answer, his teeth tearing into her shoulder. She cried out in pleasure and pain as he dug his fangs deep, hands gripping her waist and holding her to him. She gripped onto his jacket, holding herself to him as he marked her. Tomorrow could wait. The whole world could wait.
Her viper needed attention.

Chapter Text
Viperion scanned the rooftops, his eyes analyzing every shadow. He knew the cat would be out tonight, it had been weeks since anything had happened, and his senses told him it would be soon. He didn't have to wait long. Chat strolled across the shadows, lazily swinging his arms and leaning his head back to stare at the moon. Viperion watched as the man didn't notice him and continued his stroll. He snuck across the roof, quietly jumping to stalk behind Chat. He snuck forward and his hand snuck to his lyre.
"You know, you don't have to hide. I know you have been there the whole time."
Viperion froze and frowned, unhappy at being caught. He stood up straight and watched Chat, Chat sending him a sneaky grin. "You were quiet for your part, little snake. Super hearing just beats your stealth." Viperion chuckled and walked forward, allowing the moon light to hit his body. Chat's eyes racked over him, scanning every muscle through the suit. "Was there something you wanted?" Viperion stopped in front of him, body stiff and eyes locked on his. "I was hoping for a talk. Not a round two." Chat chuckled and held his hand out, claws slack as he lazily offered his hand.
"I'm sorry. For before I mean."
Viperion stared at his hand, doubt clear on his face. Chat made no move to assault him, his body relaxed and eyes low. Viperion reached out slowly and took the hand, waiting for the cat to lash out. Chat sighed as they shook hands, a small smile gracing his lips. Chat looked around at the moon lit rooftops, uncertainty flashing in his face. "Walk with me?" Viperion nodded and followed close behind as Chat walked away, the two men walking in quiet over the roof. Chat cast small glances Viperion's way, looking away when the hero met his gaze.
"Can I ask you something?"
Viperion nodded, relaxing as Chat showed no ill intent. Chat stopped on a barbershop roof, his eyes gazing over the sights of downtown Miami. "What is it like? To be in love?" Viperion chocked on his spit as Chat sent him a curious glance. He composed himself and stared, waiting for the white haired man to start laughing. When none came, he sighed and rubbed his neck, a blush forming.
"I suppose it's a nice feeling. You feel comfortable and at home when you are with them. You can tell them anything and you put the utmost faith in them. I suppose in a way..You feel whole."
Chat nodded and frowned; his eyes cast down at his feet. "That sounds nice." Viperion sighed and walked to him, gripping the other's shoulder. "This is about Ladybug, isn't it?" Chat's eyes snapped to him and he gasped, shocked he was that easy to read. Viperion chuckled and raised a brow. "You aren't the only one with good senses. I'm pretty good at reading people." Chat nodded, blushing as the yellow eyes bore into him. "I'm sorry. I know you and Ladybug are a thing." Viperion nodded and clicked his tongue, eyes narrowing.
"That's right. I should be kicking your ass for that stunt you pulled."
Chat winced and gave a sheepish smile, shrinking down. "I'm sorry for that as well. I don't know why I just..." Viperion sighed and crossed his arms, eyeing the cat. "I talked to Ladybug's kwami. You two are going to feel the connection, the attraction. Its natural." Chat nodded and looked up to the moon, ice eyes soft. "Mine said the same." Viperion watched as he turned to him, tears shining in the blue eyes.
"I cant tell you alot.. but lets just say that I get attached easily."
Viperion chuckled and flicked him on the nose, eyes shining as Chat gaped at him. "Look. I know Ladybug has faith in you, and I have faith in her. I can't forgive you for all the shit you did, but I am willing to try." Chat stared wide eyed at him, falling to his knees as Viperion tried to catch him. "Why? Why would you say that?" Yellow eyes met blue and both hearts stopped, the two staring at each other. Viperion leaned forward, hand lifting Chat's chin so they were face to face.
"Because I can tell there is good in you. You are broken, a product of Hawkmoth. I told you I am good at reading people."
A teal thumb lifted to wipe a tear as it fell, ice eyes wide and swimming with emotion.
"It's not too late to change Blanc."
Adrien slammed his hand into the shower wall, his face flushed and eyes watching the droplets roll off the wall. Steaming water rushed over his body, easing his stress ever so slightly. Plagg peaked over the door to the shower, grinning at his holder as he struggled.
"So, I see you finally figured it out."
Adrien looked up at Plagg, glaring as the god smirked at him. "What do you mean?" Plagg sat on the top of the door, little feet kicking as he let the steam roll over him. "You can't tell me you were straight. After five years, I've learned you pretty well. You may not have noticed, being all sheltered and all, but you have had so many bi panics that you might as well be a sitcom." Adrien rolled his eyes and flicked water at him, the cat hissing in disbelief. "Hey! Don't take it out on me! I'm not the one panicking here!" Adrien flicked more water and growled at him. "I'm not gay Plagg." Plagg huffed and flew down into the water, eyes level with his holder.
"Let's do this, kid. Close your eyes."
Adrien did as instructed, curious where Plagg was going with this. "Now then, I want you to picture the snake in your mind." Adrien let his mind form the image, yellow eyes popping into his vision. The teal suit covering toned muscle. The low tone of the voice and the calm it tears from those that hear him. His touch on his chin. Their eyes meeting. Plagg chuckled and poked him on the nose, flying out of the water.
"Now open your eyes."
Adrien sighed and opened them, a blush rushing to his face as he followed Plagg's gaze down. His dick stood at attention, his pulse racing as the thought of the hero raced inside him. He groaned and placed his forehead against the wall, gritting his teeth and willing his member to go down. He glared up at Plagg as he hollered in laughter, small body tumbling through the air as he lost control. He met his blushing face in the reflection of his door, taking in the sight of his own flustered self.
"Not a word Plagg. Not a fucking word."

Alya chuckled as she watched Marinette try to hang the wreath on the door, the shorter girl struggling to reach the hook. December had approached, the girl's excited to celebrate Christmas. Becca fumbled through the door; a box full of Christmas lights clutched in her arms.
"Hey Alya, this was all I found."
Alya squealed in delight and darted inside, going to help the other girl with the Christmas tree they had set up. Marinette smiled softly at the excitement before huffing in annoyance, glaring at the hook on the door. "I will get this up." She jumped. She tip toed. Nothing would get the wreath on the hook. An amused chuckled sounded and she grit her teeth, knowing the blond was giving her a snarky grin. "Either help me or shut up." Adrien chuckled and came up behind her, his hand gliding over hers to grip the decoration.
"Let the tall people handle it."
Marinette glared but gave him a smile, taking in his bright eyes. Adrien had been quiet over the last few weeks. He rarely left his room and hardly ever showed up to the group hangouts. When he did, he always had an aura of sadness around him, and it broke her heart to not know what caused him pain. She shrieked as he wrapped his arms around her middle, hoisting her up and slapping the decoration back in her hands. "I take it back; I much prefer this." Marinette blushed bright and stared down at him, eyes wide and mouth open.
"Adrien! Put me down!"
He laughed and held her tighter as she squirmed, careful not to drop her. "If you want down, you better hurry up and hang the wreath." Marinette giggled and nodded, carefully hanging the wreath on the door. Adrien lowered her down, his arms still around her. She looked up at him, his green eyes shining down at her. His eyes found her lips and he couldn't help himself as he leaned down, heart jumping as her eyes fluttered close, and he swore she leaned up.
"One of these days Mari, I'm going to get you a step stool."
They jumped apart, both spinning to look at the guitarist across from them. Marinette lit up as she saw him, blushing as the two boys stared at each other. Adrien rubbed his neck in embarrassment, internally scolding himself for getting carried away. Luka walked over and gripped Adrien's arm, giving him a sly smile and his voice low.
"But then again, you seemed to be the perfect ladder."
Adrien blushed and turned his head away, staring at Marinette as she stood with her mouth open and eyes wide. She knew that tone on Luka. She could hardly believe it as his eyes racked over Adrien, the blond returning the gaze. Marinette had to keep her heart in check as she watched her closest boys.
Luka was flirting.
With Adrien.
Marinette grabbed Luka's hand and led him inside, eyes shining in mischief. "Come on Luka, I want to show you the balcony decorations!" Her eyes promised a conversation and he took her hint, smiling and following her inside. Adrien stood awkwardly in the doorway before Becca ran up to him, the tree topper in her hands. She gave him a kind smile and held it out to him. "Speaking of needing a tall person." Adrien chuckled and took it, following the girl inside.
He could use some time with friends.
Marinette pulled Luka to the balcony and slid the door shut behind them, her eyes funding his. He looked at her with an innocent smile, fumbling with his Jagged Stone Christmas sweater. Marinette raised a brow and motioned toward the group working on the tree, her finger trained on Adrien.
"So. Something you want to tell me?"
Luka smiled and pulled her to him, nuzzling her neck as she returned his embrace. "Don't worry Melody, I'm not going to leave you for the Adrien. But..." She looked at him, her eyes curious. "But?" Luka sighed and pulled away from her, leaning back against the railing and looking up at the setting sun. "I've been thinking about it for years honestly. I'm not gay, but I'm not straight either. You remember that dude I dated back in France?" Marinette smirked, remembering the way Luka had fallen head over tail for a member of the school band.
"Well, that kind of told me a lot about myself."
Marinette smiled in encouragement as he faltered. They were always able to tell each other everything, no secret kept from the other. She reached up and ran a hand through his hair, smiling as he closed his eyes and leaned into her touch. His eyes met hers and they both looked over to Adrien, the blond being pulled around by the two brunettes.
"You have feelings for him Melody. Just as you do Blanc."
Marinette began to protest, her eyes wide as her mind raced to the worst. Luka held up his hand and chuckled, stopping her. "Let me finish." She nodded and closed her mouth, finding her own spot against the railing. "I would be lying if I said I didn't find him hot. He's a damn model for Gimmi's sake." Marinette nodded her agreement, blushing as they both kept their eyes on Adrien.
"I believe that you can be with more than one person, so long as you all love each other."
Marinette's eyes snapped to him, her eyes wide and a blush forming. "Are you trying to ask...?" Luka nodded and pulled her back into his arms, burying his face into her hair and his hands rubbing her back. "I want you happy Melody, and Adrien makes you happy. If it is something you want, you would have my full support." Marinette gripped him tight, her hands fisting into his sweater. "That isnt fair to you Viper." He pulled back and smirked, his usually calm eyes blazing with desire. He leaned down and captured her lips, pulling her against him and a hand cupping her jaw. He pulled away as she whined, missing his lips on her. "I want this too Melody." He leaned down, his lips next to her ear.
"Besides, you wouldn't believe the fantasy three ways I've had with you and the super model Adrien Agreste."
He ran off and through the door, laughing as a gob smacked Marinette stared after him. Alya laughed as the rocker ran up to Adrien, taking the other end of the Christmas lights and helping wrap them around the tree. She looked between Marinette and the boys, a brow raised and a knowing smirk on her face. She and Luka talked a lot when they weren't with Marinette, both acting as each other's unofficial therapist. She had an idea what this was about. She jogged up to the blunette and dragged her inside, biting back a laugh as Marinette couldn't take her eyes off the boys. Alya leaned down and poked her in the nose, a supportive smile on her face.
"Come on girl, come help your boys."

Gabriel knocked on the door to Adrien's dorm, his lips in a firm line and his eyes tired. The door was pulled open, a tired looking Adrien rubbing his eyes as he peeked his head out.
"Marinette, I told you I had-."
He froze as his eyes met Gabriel's, the older man glaring at him as Adrien straightened up. Gabriel looked around the hall before lashing out, his fist colliding with Adrien's face and sending him back into the dorm. He closed the door behind him and stalked into the room, anger blazing in his eyes.
"You have fooled around long enough, boy."
Adrien jumped to his feet and rubbed his jaw, eyes on the floor. "What do you want?" Gabriel scoffed and lashed out again, walking cane cracking against Adrien's temple. "What do I want? I want you to do your mission, Adrien! I gave you the freedom you wanted! I gave you your little fantasy of normalcy! All I asked for was that you handle a few cops and get me the miraculous!" Adrien growled as he shot forward, face inches from Gabriel's.
"Why don't you get the miraculous yourself? Oh, that's right, you failed for five years."
He blocked the next blow, green eyes blazing as Gabriel swung his cane. "You forget your place boy!" Adrien swung out, fist colliding with Gabriel's chest and knocking the older man back. Gabriel steadied himself on his cane and grinned as Adrien rushed forward, finger rubbing over his wedding band.
"Adrien. Stop."
Adrien froze, eyes wide with horror as his body betrayed him. Gabriel strutted forward, a grin spreading over his face as Adrien struggled against himself. He rolled the cane in his hand, malicious intent glinting in his eyes.
"You forget who is in charge. Allow me to remind you."
Marinette hummed as she pulled the gingerbread out of the oven, the smell filling her dorm. She set the treats on the counter and gently tapped Tikki on the head, the little ladybug eyeing the cookies. She chuckled as she gave her a smile, laughing with her. "Careful Tikki, these are still too hot." They laughed with each other as she started prepping the next batch of cookies, a comfortable air between the two. Both jumped as a thud sounded from her balcony, eyes snapping to each other. "Tikki, go hide." Tikki gave her a concerned look but nodded, zipping to her hiding spot in a cabinet.
Marinette slowly made her way to the balcony, hands reaching out and grabbing the curtains. She took a breath and steadied herself, prepared to defend herself. She whipped the curtains back and gasped, eyes going wide at the sight before her. Chat leaned against her railing, blood pouring from his temple and mouth as he tried to hold himself up. His chest heaved with denied breath, trying desperately to fill his lungs. Ice eyes met her blue and she rushed forward, hands grabbing him under his arms and holding him up as best she could.
"Chat!?"
He gave a grunt in greeting and tried to stand, yelping in pain as he gripped his ribs. Marinette looked him over, blood, cuts and bruises littering his body. "What happened?" He opened his mouth to speak, words failing as the air left him. She gripped him tight and slowly led him inside. She grabbed a spare roll of fabric and threw it over the couch, laying him gently on it as he screamed in pain. Her heart clenched at his scream, not used to hearing the sound coming from the man. He shook as he struggled to breathe, eyes wide in pain and fear as he looked at her.
His hand gripped hers, squeezing with each shaking gasp. She leaned forward as small words escaped him, attempting to puzzle together what exactly he meant.
"Kwami..."
"Clothes..."
"Mask..."
Marinette bit her lip in concentration, brain scrambling. "Squeeze if I get it right, okay? You have something that will hide your identity?" Squeeze. "You need to detransform?" Squeeze. She sighed, questioning herself as she looked down at him. He was right here. The murder kitten was right in front of her, bloody and beaten, an easy take. She could take the miraculous and end it all. She reached out a hand, fingers grabbing his ring. His eyes shot to her, ice eyes wide and scared. She leaned forward, a hand grazing his cheek.
"Trust me?"
He nodded shortly, grimacing in pain. She slipped the ring off, shielding her eyes as the green light took his transformation. She stared in shock as she looked at him, containing her emotions as her eyes looked him over. While his white suit fell away, a black one took its place, a near exact replica of his original. The ears and tail were missing, yet everything else remained the same. His blond hair fell over closed eyes, black mask seemingly glued to his face. She ran her hand over his chest, feeling the soft fabric under her fingers. There was no leather, just soft cotton. She would question him later. Right now, he needed her help.
She slid the ring back onto his finger, a tired and angry Plagg reappearing. He hissed as he zipped to his holder, small paws running over the bloody face. "Kid!" Marinette watched the black cat and blond boy, heartwarming as the god tried desperately to awaken his charge. "Plagg." Plagg turned on her, green eyes turned to slits and his hackles raised. "We need to talk." The cat growled but flew away from his charge, floating in front of her with crossed arms. "Not here. He doesn't know, remember?" Marinette nodded and motioned to her room, voice going hard.
"Go join Tikki. I'll take care of him and be right there."
Plagg gave her a hard look, scanning her with judging eyes. He sighed and nodded, coming to hug her cheek. "Help my kitten." She gave his small body a pat, kissing the cat on his head. "I promise." She turned to Chat and sighed, grabbing her post fight kit and setting to work. She was laser focused.
Answers would come later.
She closed her bedroom door, walking to the bathroom and rinsing the blood from her hands. Plagg came to rest on her shoulder, eyes worried and ears flat on his head.
"How is he?"
Marinette sighed and gave him a small smile, eyes dull as she scrubbed the blood from her fingernails. "He will be okay. He got here at the right time. If I ask Tikki, she may be willing to help him like she did me. No promises though." Plagg nodded and nuzzled her neck, purring softly as he closed his eyes. "Thank you, guardian." She walked the two of them to her bed as she started to undress, Plagg looking away like a gentleman. She removed her bloody clothes and threw them into a hamper, pulling out a fresh pair of black shorts and Luka's old Jagged Stone shirt. She changed quickly and flopped onto the bed, cradling Plagg on her chest as he settled.
"Please Plagg, I can't help if I don't know what happened."
He sighed and buried himself into her neck, tail wrapping around himself. "His so-called master showed up." Marinette froze at the term master, worry seeping in. "You mean... Hawkmoth?" Plagg nodded against her and her shoulders shook with anxiety, trying to keep herself in check. Hawkmoth was here. He was in Miami. She shook the thought from her head, focusing on Chat. Plagg looked up at her in question, Marinette giving him a small smile and motioning him to continue.
"He was angry that Chat didn't kill those cops and that he hasn't gotten your miraculous yet. They fought but Hawkmoth... got the upper hand." Marinette gasped as she thought of his broken body, the blood staining all over. Hawkmoth had done that? To his own son? She growled in anger, gripping her blanket as she sat up fast and sending Plagg flying.
"That son of a bitch!"
Plagg winced at her tone, suddenly regretting the information he had fed her. He had told her almost everything, only identities and sentibeings being kept secret. He knew Adrien would be mad, probably assuming Plagg had overstepped. Yet the god didn't care, only concerned about the safety of his charge. Marinette calmed herself and frowned, eyes locking on Plagg. "Explain something to me." Plagg raised his brow and she thought of his current outfit. "What is with the black version of his uniform?" Plagg lowered his eyes and his voice lowered, barely a whisper.
"The less bodies you know about, the better. Let's just say, sometimes he needed a little something different that wouldn't tire me out too fast."
Marinette gulped and reminded herself to breathe, not wanting to think of Chat's kill count. Plagg looked at her with sad eyes, green orbs pooling with tears. "Please guardian, help him. He doesn't want this. You know he doesn't want this. I wish I could tell you exactly what is going on, but I can't. Please, don't give up on him." Marinette scooped him into her hand and got up, walking them to her bedroom door. She quietly opened it and peeked out; the sleeping form of Chat bundled in her blanket swelling her heart. She leaned against the frame of her bedroom door, eyes soft and voice barely a whisper as she stroked her thumb over Plagg.
"I won't give up on him, Plagg. I promise."

Chapter Text
Luka stared at the sleeping form of Chat Blanc from his place at the kitchen counter, eyes gliding over the black clothing. He angrily sipped his water as Marinette came out of her room, rubbing her eyes and sighing as she looked at Luka.
"If you keep staring at him, you are going to go crazy."
Luka chuckled and looked her over, taking in the sight of her in his shirt. His breath hitched as her small frame was swallowed by the black and purple rock shirt. She blushed as she caught him staring, giving a suggested smirk as she walked to him, a sway in her hips. He smiled as she come to stand between his legs, her hands gliding over his chest. She bit her lip as her eyes met his, teasing his chest with her fingers. "Like something you see?" Luka leaned forward and captured her lips with his, hands jutting out to grip her waist and pulling her in by the bottom of her shirt. She moaned into his mouth, blushing at the thought of Chat waking up. Luka, as though reading her thoughts, smirked against her lips and let his fingers trail under her shirt. His fingers slid over the smooth skin of her stomach, teasing the band of her shorts as she struggled to hold her moans. He gripped the edge of the shirt and lifted it slightly, letting his hand slide up to a breast.
"For fucks sake, get a damn room!"
They jumped apart, both blushing bright as Chat's green eyes stared at them, his own blush faint against his black mask. Luka rose from his spot and kissed Marinette on the head, laughing as she covered her face in her hands. He walked to stand in front of Chat, the blonde staring up at him. Luka gave him a once over before leaning down, hand reaching out to brush against Chat's hair. Chat leaned away, fear flashing in his eyes. Luka sighed and kneeled down in front of him, retracting his hand and holding both up in front of him.
"I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just going to see how your injury is healing."
Chat gave him a calculating look but slumped back, body tired. Marinette smiled softly as she watched Luka check Chat over, heart skipping a beat as she watched Chat melt into the soft touch of Luka. She moved to join them, grabbing Chat's legs and plopping down on the couch next to him, placing his legs in her lap. Chat raised a brow at her and she smiled, shrugging her shoulders. "What? You looked comfortable and I wasn't about to make you move too much." He stared at her in confusion before wincing as Luka fingered a bad cut on his hair line, the teal boy whispering an apology. Chat looked between the two of them, his eyes lingering on Marinette.
"How much does he know?"
Luka chuckled and poked him on the nose, leaning down into his personal space. "Enough to want to punt the dumpster fire you call a master into hell with a VIP ticket." Chat gaped at him and glared at Marinette. She chuckled and tapped her shoulder right where his mark was, smirking at him. "You expect me to not tell him why the man that claimed me was passed out on the couch?" He gave her a 'well duh!' look and she rolled her eyes, moving the shirt off her other shoulder to show him Luka's.
"Well unfortunately, it's hard to hide when he does this."
Chat's eyes widened and he whipped around to face Luka, glaring as the teal man gave him a cheeky grin. "You think I wasn't going to give her a matching set from her actual boyfriend?" Chat rolled his eyes and tried sitting up, grunting in pain and frowning when Luka pushed him back down. "Stay down. You need food and some liquids." Chat began to protest but Luka held a finger to Chat's lips, smirking as the blonde blushed. "Don't argue with me little kitten." He spun on his heel and strolled into the kitchen, opening the fridge to fish through the leftovers. Chat looked over at Marinette, eyes soft as he hung his head.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have come."
She glared and reached out, gripping his hand and running her thumb over the top. "You have nothing to apologize for, Chat. Did you think I would leave you to deal with it on your own?" He began to answer when a black blur collided with his face, the cat hissing at him as he smacked him repeatedly on the nose with his small paw, following each word with a smack.
"Don't! Ever! Do! That! Again!"
Chat chuckled and grabbed the god, holding him at arm length and watching him thrash about. "I'm sorry Plagg. I didn't have much of a choice." Plagg huffed and stopped thrashing, Chat releasing him so he could float there. "Well, are you going to introduce me?" Chat smiled and turned to Marinette, holding Plagg above his head like a child showing his toy. "This is my cheese gremlin Plagg. He has no filter, will make you question your life decisions and, get this, killed the dinosaurs." Marinette and Luka burst out laughing as Plagg looked offended, glaring down over Chat's hand.
"Keep it up, murder kitten."
Luka burst out louder, holding himself up by the sink as he shook with laughter. Marinette wiped tears from her eyes as she gave Plagg a knowing look, the Kwami sending her a sneaky wink. "It's a pleasure to meet the great cheese god himself." Chat released him and he flew away, gliding up to Luka as he held out a piece of cheddar for him. Chat sighed and rubbed the mask over his eyes, the fabric smooth under his fingers. He looked down at his uniform and frowned, eyes coming up to meet Marinette's.
"Do you have any clothes I could borrow? If I'm stuck here, I'd rather not be in this."
Marinette looked to Luka and he smirked, exiting to Marinette's room and returning shortly with a pair of grey sweatpants and a large red shirt, obviously Ladybug merch. Chat held back the growl as Luka handed them to him, a teasing smile on his face. "Feel free to use the bathroom." Chat slid his legs off of Marinette and walked slowly to the bathroom, wincing as pain shot through his body. He closed the door behind him and gripped the edge of the sink counter, looking at his own reflection. The uniform teased him, reminding him of his purpose in the world. He growled as he quickly tore the uniform off, throwing it to the floor and quickly dressing. He glared at the shirt, Ladybug' face smiling back at him from the fabric. He cursed Luka in his head, teeth gritting.
"Asshole."
He stepped out of the bathroom and smiled shyly as the two looked at him, eyes looking his body over. He rubbed his neck as they smiled at him, a sympathetic smile on his face as he placed his folded clothes on an empty chair. "I'm sorry for having to keep the mask." Luka shrugged and walked over to him, leaning down into his face. "No need. It suits you." He blushed as Luka pulled away with a smirk. Marinette passed him a plate of baked chicken and broccoli, his stomach giving an embarrassing rumble as the smell filled his nose. He nodded gratefully before sitting down to eat, shoulders relaxing as the other two sat with him. Luka broke the quiet as he looked at Chat, his eyes hard and voice low.
"Chat."
He looked over at him, green eyes scared as the teal haired man leaned into his space. "I want you to know that you don't have to take his shit. You have the power of destruction; you can say no to Hawkmoth." Chat froze, eyes wide and mouth open. Marinette reached out a gentle hand and gripped his arm, worried as he began to shake. His green eyes darted between the two of them, pupils dilating as he gripped the fork in his hand. "No. No, you don't understand. It isn't that easy." Marinette frowned and looked over his shoulder, raising a brow at Plagg. Plagg shook his head and put a paw to his mouth. It was the secret he couldn't tell. Marinette sighed and looked at Luka, a small shake of her head his clue that he couldn't speak on it. Luka sighed and put a hand on Chat's shoulder, his face softening and his voice taking on a gentle tone.
"I understand if you can't tell us. We all have secrets. But you aren't alone, okay?"
Chat's eyes watered as he looked at Luka, green eyes meeting teal. He lunged forward, wrapping his arms around Luka and crying into his chest. Luka ran a hand through his hair, massaging his scalp and whispering reassurance. "I don't deserve kindness. You don't understand the things I have done. I have killed people! I hurt people, tore apart families and injured people close to Marinette! You should hate me!" Luka tightened his grip on the blonde, growling low in his chest as Chat degraded himself.
"No. You did things that the piece of shit made you do. You were a child! You didn't have a choice!"
Chat stared up at him with tearful eyes as Luka's heated glance gazed down at him, teal eyes swimming with hatred for his master. Neither moved. Luka growled to himself before dipping down, hand finding Chat's cheek and a soft kiss pressed to his lips. Chat's eyes widened as Luka kissed him, his lips moving on their own as he deepened the kiss. Luka pulled back with a blush and smiled softly down at him, his eyes full of understanding.
"No matter what, you have me and Mari. We will free you from Hawkmoth. We promise kitten."
He turned to look at Marinette, her smiling face meeting his as she leaned forward to run a hand through his hair. She pressed a kiss to his forehead, putting her forehead against his. "You have us Chat. Both of us." Chat melted into the embrace of the two, enveloped in the warmth of their arms and mixed smells of their scents. He broke down, tears pouring as his anger and frustration broke free. They held him as he cried, caring eyes watching as he burrowed himself into them.
He may be the murder kitten, but they would help him. They would drag Hawkmoth to hell for the pain he caused the boy in their arms. They would protect him as both heroes and civilians.
He was their kitten.
