1Note: I hope your all enjoying this story. I decided to change up alot on how Kira and Rory will connect. I am in no way a doctor or pretended to be the last couple of chapters. I am still working the kinks out on how Kira and Rory will meet once she gets to Reefside. My original plan was to kill their Dad but i want Rory to be anti social for awhile before she makes new friends.

The next few chapters will have some time jumps as well as some flashbacks.

As morning broke Ryan groaned as the sun that was beaming into the room hit his eyes. He looked next to him to see Rory on her side facing away. He touched her shoulder. He noticed the oxygen mask was gone but a nasal cannula was in place.

"She's gone" Her voice quiet.

"How did-?"

"I heard you talking to Tommy, I pretended to be asleep but i heard you". She rolled over to face him. "I lost my best friend"

"I know honey i know"

She let out a breath. " came in to check on me while you were asleep. He told me i could go home tomorrow since you and Dana are trained to monitor me."

Ryan sat up and stretched. "Did he say anything else?"

"I'll never play again" She turned so she was on her back. "Ryan when do we move?"

"Whenever you are up to it. Listen Chad and Tommy are going to come by and check on you and keep you company okay. I am going to head home and get you some fresh clothes alright?"

She nodded as he kissed her forehead. Rory looked out her window as her room went quiet. Her mind going to Riley. They knew each other since they were five. They were attached at the hip. Rory felt the tears stream down her cheeks. She felt her bed shift. She looked up into Chad's eyes. In silence he wrapped his two arms around her and rocked her.

Chad rubbed her back as they mourned his sister. Once he let go she laid down. "I miss her to kiddo. Look right now you need to focus on getting better okay"

"Chad you know if it wasn't for you Riley and I wouldn't have been best friends. What am i going to do without her?"

Chad wiped her tears. "Riley would want you to move on. But you know she will always be n your heart. Listen i better go be with my parents please come by and visit before you go to Reefside"

"I will."

Rory wiped her eyes as he left the room knowing she couldn't go to the funeral. "Man i need a shower" She grumbled running a hand through her hair.

"You look ravishing" She heard from the door.

"Ha Ha very funny Tommy". She told him as he helped her sit up. She smiled as he handed her a small teddy bear. "Thanks"

"How are you doing?" He asked sitting on the edge of her bed.

She sighed and shrugged. "Life sucks. I think i sm ready to get out of Mariner Bay though."

"I don't kow if you were told but i live in Reefside now" Tommy told her as he face lit up. "I am going to be the new science teacher at the high school"

"Cool, i just want to get out of this place and sleep in my own bed". She stated as Dana walked in. "Thank God. Dana can i please shower?"

Dana giggled at her sister knowing she was trying hide her emotional pain and physical pain. "Yes i will help you". Tommy excused himself. Dana helped her sister to the bathroom..

Rory kept her eyes down as he sister helped her get into the shower. "Dana?"

"Yeah?"

"Is that what i think it is?"Rory asked grabbing her sister's hand as she was peeling off the bandage on her cheek. "He asked?"

Dana smiled fingering the ring. "He did. We were going to tell you the night you got shot. Look just focus on getting better for now and we can talk about it later but Rory you need to talk to Ryan, he is blaming himself for this"

Rory nodded as Dana helped her put on shorts. "It wasn't his fault it was mine. I shouldn't have yelled at him and i shouldn't have left the house".

Dana guided her sister back to her bed. "Rory do you think you are up for getting some fresh air?"

"Yes please" Rory told her sister as Ryan helped her into a wheelchair. Ryan wheeled her outside and stopped near the foundatin. Rory smiled softly as the air hit her cheeks.

Ryan looked at his sister's face as she had three cuts that were stitched. He reached out and ran his fingers over them. "I'm sorry"

"What?" Rory questioned barely hearing him. She searched his face as he avoided eye contact with her.

"I'm sorry. God Rory your in this position because of me!" He yelled.

"You listen to me right now!" Rory yelled back grabbing his face. "This is not your fault I was the one who confronted you when i should have understood how much the job meant. I shouldn't have left the house. Ryan yes life is going to suck for awhile and i know i will have to give it a try in a new school but i still have you"

"I love you"

"I know you do now come here you big goof" She laughed out hugging her big brother.

Meanwhile Tommy walked alone and came to stand overlooking the lagoon. He sat down letting his feet dangle over the edge of the dock. "Whoa!" He yelped as something hit underneath. "No way" He whispered as an orca popped her head up. "Crescent?" The wlale opened her mouth in delight.

Tommy's eyes went wide at what she had in her mouth. He reached in carefully and pulled it out. "Crescent how did you get this?" He asked the whale as he held a pink dino gem. The whale blew from his blowhole and drove under. Tommy stood up as he watched the whale swim around.

The Next Day...

"I want out of this place!" Rory grumbled as she waited with little patience for to discharge her. "He said yesterday i could go".

"Rory relax will you" Ryan pleaded knowing she was going crazy. "You may be going home but you have strict orders to take it easy and i will make sure you do"

Dr. Walsh entered the room. "Okay. Rory first of all you are a true fighter. I have never seen someone fight to survive from where you were. I am only letting you go home early because of Ryan and Dana since they can look after you but young lady you need to rest okay"

"I will" She told him with a firm nod.

He smiled as he checked her healing wounds. "These have healed the stitches from your knee and cheek will come out ina few days so i let Dana take home the equipment to remove them okay so you don't have to come in. I understand your leaving Mariner Bay soon?"

Rory looked down. "Yeah in a couple of weeks"

"You know i have watched you grow up to be the strong lady you are today. Please don't be a stranger. I know how tough it will be for you to adjust. Rory nothing pained me more then to have to tell you that you will never play basketball but keep an open mind on other possibilities okay?"

"Okay" Sshe whispered as she gave him a hug. "Thank you for saving my life"

Once they let go he left the room. Ryan turned to her. "Ready to go?"

"If you think for one second i am getting in that" She started pointing to the wheelchair. "Then you are mistaken. i am either limping out or your carrying me out"

Ryan rolled his eyes in amusement. "Fine" She hopped on his back and they made their way to his truck. "Ryan?"

"Yeah?" He stopped as he helped her in the seat. He noticed her gaze was focused on the cafe.

She shook her head. "Nevermind lets go home". Ryan jumped in his truck. Once they arrived Ryan helped her out. "Ryan why is your door unlocked?"

He just smirked. "Ryan?" He ignored her as he led her inside.

"SURPRISE!" A group yelled as the lights flicked on. Rory smiled widely as she noticed balloons and confetti everywhere. Her eyes welled up with tears as she saw Tommy, Carter, Dana and her Dad standing in the kitchen.

"Welcome home sweetheart" Her Dad whispered as he hugged his daughter. Ryan helped her to the couch.

"You did this?" She directed to her brother who laid a blanket over her legs.

"Yeah. I know its been rough and it hasn't been easy but i thought you could use a little fun". He told her as Carter walked over.

"Here" he said handing her a chocolate hot fudge sundae with sprinkles. "Welcome home"

"Thanks" She replied as she ate her ice cream. "Its about time you asked Dana to marry you"

As they enjoyed each others company they all went their seperate ways. Tommy was the last to leave. "See you in a couple of weeks okay."

"You bet" Rory told him hugging him. "Tommy?"

"Yeah?" He stopped as he went to the door.

"Thank you for being here"

He smiled. "Always". He told her. He tried to stay calm as he noticed the very faint pink glow in his pocket. He was glad she wasn't looking.

Rory laid back on the couch as the house went quiet. She looked confused as Ryan held out his hand and her sweater in the other. "What?"

"Come on" He urged.

"Where are we going?" She was cinfused as to why he seemed so excited. She put on the huge sweater of his.

After a short walk they stopped. "I know this place brings back memories some good some bad" Ryan told her as they stood on the dock. "Rory there is something you should see".

Rory sat down with his help. She jumped so fast when she saw what was in front of her. "Crrescent!?" She yelled as the killer whale breached. Rory sobbed as the whale popped her head up letting Rory lean on her head. The last time she saw Crescent was six months ago. "Oh girl i missed you so much. Ryan how long has she been back?"

Ryan sat next to her. "We aren't sure. A week before you got hurt Dana and I were out for lunch so we stopped by her and saw her. She got me wet but thats nothing new".

"So where's the grump huh?" Rory asked referring to Titan. She wiped her eyes as antther tail appeared and smacked the water. "Nevermind, Hey boy" She greeted the maie.

Ryan wrapped an arm around her shoulders as she leaned her head on his shoulder. "Ryan thank you, you have no idea how much this meant to me tonight. I just wish i could swim".

"You will give it time." The siblings sat there in silence as the night sky appeared.

"Ryan i am ready to leave this place though to go with you but i do want to visit here as much as i can" She told her brother.

"Off course we can, Dana and Dad are still here plus i am pretty sure Dana wants your help with the wedding" Ryan spoke as he helped his sister onto his back.

"Ryan i do eventually need to walk"

"I know but for now i'm the boss and i say you need to rest".

"Yes sir!" She mocked saluted slapping his head. "Night Crescent. Night Titan"

Ryan carried his baby sister home and tucked her into her own bed. She had fallen asleep on the way home. He felt tears of relief come into his eyes as her chest moved up and down after thinking it would never happen again. Ryan kissed her cheek and went to to his own room to sleep.
