Sup guys, Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Paw Patrol. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I do not own Patrol; Nick and a few others do.
It took about 5 minutes for Duke to realize Otis enjoyed talking. He enjoyed it so much that he would talk every 2 seconds.
He hummed to himself before he looked at a T-shirt that showed a pack of dogs with colorful tech. He tilted his head as he blinked, Otis was busy chowing on a pair of hot dogs the pair had been lucky to get… After Duke had bitten through half of one.
"Hmm…" Duke thought as he blinked, his good eye too focused on the picture.
"Hey, Duke? You have not touched your food a lot." Otis yelled to which Duke hummed.
Otis hummed to himself before he looked downwards at the ground… Something about this had made the small dog curious.
Both were all too interested at the time being… They had a lot more to try and figure it out.
"Hmm… Paw Patrol." Duke stated, his head tilted to the side as he had been too curious and eager to get a better look.
"Oh, they are nice guys. Real heroes!" Otis yelled, finally finishing the lunch both had gotten.
"Hmm… My owner did mention them a few times…. They are skilled." Duke said as he hummed. "Hmm… We should go, the better intel we find. The better course of action we can make." Duke stated as Otis hummed.
"You talk funny," Otis said as Duke sighed.
"Military speak, Otis… My owner was a soldier." Otis stated as he sighed before he shook his head. "Follow me, it means follow me. We figure out what to do next on the way." Duke stated before he sighed to himself.
He had an idea of where he wanted to go next. Sleeping was out of the question; he could not afford to sleep somewhere a dog catcher might find him and he did not want to be rude and break into someone's home.
He wanted to find somewhere to sleep but he was not going to burden someone with a puppy.
Then again? He did not exactly expect his crate to fall off the truck… So, it was not like he had a lot left not to deal with for now… It was going to be something they had left to deal with.
Something about it all had been harder and harder at the time being. This was a lot more painful for now… It was a lot more to deal with, for now, an idea like this was harder than before.
Something about this had made him surprised. He knew better than before.
All of it? All of what had gotten on his mind an idea like this had been harder to fathom… All of it had been something that he needed to handle now and for good… The alternative was not something Duke knew.
And the idea of skilled pups was an idea that filled his head even as he struggled to pretend it did not at all relax.
They had a lot more left to discuss. First things first… He had to get to see the city.
Duke left and Otis followed still. Duke frowned, not angry at his ally but perplexed. He had met dogs who were nice, sure… But it was through this that something else would become.
Duke was silent… Both times they had a lot to relax… They had to think of all before now… All of it? Now? They had to move.
He had been too distracted now… Something about it all had been more than he could deal with.
He had been too tiresome now at the end… Something about it all had been harder and harder to deal with for now.
Duke was tired, he felt a yawn escape his maw, a yawn escaping the confines of his mouth… He almost toppled over, consumed with pain.
There was still something to deal with… They had nothing left to do but walk and he was tired. He was too tired at the end of the day… It had been a lot more interesting.
He had a lot more to try and figure out. Something about it all had made him as he clicked his fingers and he looked downwards at the time.
Duke hummed and sighed as he thought of it. Something within her as he relaxed… Something within them both had been harder at the time being.
He had a lot more to understand… They would not have to try and relax.
Duke seemed to tire himself out, it would be much harder to deal with for now. They have a lot more to relax, something about it all had been harder to grasp.
Duke sighed and then looked towards the side… He had been able to think of it for now as a small little madness.
(With Paw Patrol)
Skye seemed to relax… Something about it all had been harder to deal with.
Something about it all had been odd when it came to it… Something about it all made her pause for now.
Today had been quiet. That was never a good idea, something about had been a problem…. They had to deal with something new, something else would become harder and harder to understand.
Skye frowned at this and tapped at the window. She would be too relaxed to deal with a certain amount of work.
She was disturbed but she would not relent… She had to see it through to the end.
Something about it all had been too interested in it all before they looked downwards.
She was unsure of what was going on now and for good reason. She was all too interested in it all before they looked downwards at the ground.
Something about it all had been harder and harder to do… Ever since Adventure City. She had been too distracted as to HOW it would have been like… And she had realized she could not.
Something about it all had been too interesting at the time being.
Skye seemed to be dealing with the fact she had been a little selfish.
"Oh, hey Skye," Marshal said as he popped off the elevator and trotted over.
"Oh, hey, Marshal," Skye stated as she blinked and then started to think of it.
"Uh… Ryder has a mission… He said two puppies need our help." Marshal said with a tilt of his head.
Skye blinked as she realized something felt weird about today. She could tell something odd would happen but could not put her paw on it.
"2 puppies? Like us?" Skye asked in a tone bursting with energy at the seams.
They had a lot more to deal with it… She was happy. She had a lot more to deal with.
"Yeah… C'mon, I'll show you." Marshal stated before he looked out over the city.
(With Duke and Otis)
Duke blinked as he looked at the others, curious as he tried to think of it.
Duke seemed to be thinking as he thinking at the time being… They had a lot more to try and figure out.
There were more eyes on him than he could have been too distracted at the time being.
They had a lot more to try and deal with for the time being… Something about it all was too interesting as he looked towards the ground.
They had a lot more to try and deal with… Duke was curious as he tried to deal with it for now. He led Otis around town, looking for even the faintest glimmer.
He was curious, very curious as he looked towards the side… Something about the town made him both safe and insecure at the time. It was odd, he felt very odd about being here and yet eager to be free of town at the same time.
Both were too interested in the town… He seemed to be distracted and looked to the side.
Duke thought of it all before they looked downwards at the ground. He did not even know what was going on now, only that he had been torn into pieces back and forth when it had come down to it. Something had to end now and for good.
He almost did not notice the net before it scooped both puppies up, the truck that had done so peeled away with both puppies encased within a net they could have torn through.
He had a lot more to deal with for now, an idea they had to deal with for now.
He had a lot more to try and deal with for now… He and he had been too interested in something he could only understand in time.
And boy was he angry he was SO angry he wanted to explode, something he knew he had to scream… And almost did.
They were both slammed into a metal cage to which Duke growled, looking at the driver whose uniform looked NOTHING like a dogcatcher.
He was joined by Otis as he looked over at the Beagle.
"Uh… Why are we in a cage?" Otis asked as Duke hummed.
"Because we were captured by the enemy, Otis," Duke stated as he sighed, looking downwards. "He thinks we're strays," Duke stated, growling out the word stray.
He knew he was not interested in it for no reason as he looked towards it.
He growled and simply slunk back into the cage. Something felt off but he could not tell what it was.
There was very limited space for a group of dogs, the tools intended to capture dogs did not at all look suited for said purposes and he believed the man looked far too…. Nice for a dogcatcher.
He could have attempted to break out but that would have caused problems, rather than cause panic. He decided to wait. There would be time to escape later.
"Duke, I'm scared," Otis stated before he looked at the friend.
"Don't be, the enemy will use your fear against you," Duke stated before he frowned, looking at the enemy. "They aren't a dogcatcher, I've seen dogcatchers," Duke stated as he frowned to himself, his fangs exposed an inch or so.
Otis said nothing, not at all used to military speak like Duke was. Otis knew that he could have dealt with them but Duke was supposed to be his friend and if problems happened.
Duke? Duke simply glared at the catcher with an angry snarl, the puppy too interested in this to be relaxed.
Duke seemed to finally settle back in the back of the cage. Something that this could have been avoided did not occur to him, it did not occur to himself. Duke hummed and then sighed, closing his eyes as he pulled the small military vest over his head, using it like a blanket as best he could.
He would not have been too disturbed if Otis was not in danger. A civilian being put in danger was something that bothered him… But Duke waited for now, knowing that they had to relax or else this could be more troublesome for now.
Both times? Both times he had seen this happen? It was a giant problem at the end of it.
Duke heard Otis's cries slowly die down as he realized panic would not help them for now. He had a lot more to learn about training for now.
Duke did not know that today would have changed his life forever.
Author Notes
Phew. Another chapter is done! A few things?
This takes place after the movie. I have not seen it yet.
I am aware Duke sounds more mature than a puppy… I am trying to have him sound like an over-dramatic soldier or someone who was meant to be one.
I am aware the pups are kids… Duke is not that old.
The next chapter will be in 2-10 months, be 900-6500 words, and show Duke and Otis meeting one of the main villains and show them meeting the Paw Patrol. Until then, Lighting Wolf is out!
