Chapter 16: Convocation of Peers
"ATTACK!"
Sabo and the ship mate turned toward the island, and saw the Kuja ship, being pulled by large sea monsters, which made their speed unbelievable.
"MOVE, FULL FORCE TO STARBARD!" the captain shouted.
As the crew rushed to get their ship away, Sabo couldn't help but feel excitement, his fist sparking in flames.
He grabbed his pole as the crew armed themselves with guns and swords.
"NYA!"
Sabo looked up.
Kuroka, having jumped from the Kuja ship with the aid of her wings, swung Wado Ichimonji down upon Sabo in her hybrid form.
However, unlike Naruto and Lucci, who favored a 50/50 hybrid form, Kuroka's arms and legs were transformed instead for a 75/25 hybrid form.
Up to her forearms and her upper thighs were black cat fur, her teeth were fangs with claws on her fingers. Her legs had become digitigrade.
Sabo jumped from the ship, his grin taking up the majority of his face as he swung his weapon.
Flames spewed from the clash between Sabo and Kuroka.
"Kuroka of Griffith Naberius, AKA, the Black Cat." Sabo stated as he recognized Kuroka from her description that he received from that event. "Why are you with the Kuja?"
Sabo pushed his advantage, pulling back his weapon, spinning it before thrusting forward.
Kuroka knocked the weapon aside, rushing toward Sabo, Wado Ichimonji in hand.
Said blade passed through Sabo's torso when she swung.
'What!' Kuroka thought as the Kuja tribe members boarded the ship and started attacking.
With his torso still fire, Sabo spun on his heel, kicking Kuroka in the face hard enough to send her into the mast, cracking it.
"KUROKA!" Marigold shouted as she saw her student hit the ground.
"You going to give me answers, Black Cat?" Sabo asked as his torso reformed.
Kuroka spat as she got up.
"As if I will, you Steam punk bitch!" she scoffed as she focused.
"The name is Sabo Phenex." Sabo said playfully as he tipped his hat to her as Kuroka's haki coated Wado Ichimonji slowly as she jumped toward the Devil.
Sabo took flight as his wings appeared, Kuroka following behind him with her own flight.
"Ittoryu Iai…" Kuroka said as she sheathed Wado Ichimonji, making Sabo quirk an eyebrow.
Kuroka seemingly vanished, reappearing behind Sabo, sheathing Wado Ichimonji.
"Shishi Sonson." She said before fully sheathing her sword.
Sabo grit his teeth as his left arm and peck were cut open.
'Damn, to shallow...' Kuroka thought in anger. 'I was too busy focusing on keeping my haki imbued into my sword to focus on my technique.'
"HIKEN!"
Kuroka spun, and drew Wado Ichimonji, cutting the fire with Kitsunebi-ryu: Homura Saki.
The fire was cut, revealing Sabo's body was the fire as he grunted.
'Homura Saki can cut a Phenex without haki?' Kuroka thought as Sabo stretched his arm out, grabbing her arm in her confusion.
"RYUSOKEN…" Sabo shouted as Kuroka took notice of how his hand was formed, looking like a three fingered dragon hand. "RYU NO KAGIZUME!"
Kuroka's arm and shoulder were broken with the simple, yet powerful squeeze of these 'talons'.
"KUROKA/SABO!"
Kuroka kicked off of Sabo, who released her, his grip weak due to using his left hand, which was cut earlier.
"BASTARD!" Kuroka shouted as she fell from the sky with Sabo following behind her.
Sabo, despite his pain, couldn't help but smile.
"This was fun." Sabo called out as he stabilized his flight. "Let's fight again, when we are both stronger, Kuroka!"
Kuroka flipped Sabo off as she was caught by a Kuja.
"Thank you, Marguerite." Kuroka thanked as she transformed back into her more human form.
"No problem, Kuroka." Marguerite replied with a smile, heading toward the Kuja ship as Marigold ordered them to leave, having ransacked Sabo's vessel.
Sabo watched as the Kuja and Kuroka left as he landed back on his ship.
"Men, head to the next closest island!" Sabo ordered as he looked for any heavily injured men to help heal them with his Phenex Tears.
One Month Later…
Naruto disappeared and reappeared in Lucci's sight.
"Good, you mastered Soru within one month." Lucci praised with a sick smirk. "I guess we can proceed to the final power."
Naruto stood with a bright smile.
'I can't wait for it.' He thought excitedly.
One of his many goals, to master Rokushiki, was so close.
And it had only been nine months since he started.
"Now, Naruto, attack me with Shigan: Oren." Lucci ordered.
"Huh?"
"Humor me." Lucci ordered as he crossed his arms confidently. "And enter your hybrid form."
"Sir."
Naruto entered hybrid form.
"SHIGAN: OREN!"
Naruto's hands moved like a machine gun bullet, rapidly moving back and forth to strike Lucci.
HOWEVER, Lucci did not move his feet, but simply dodged all of Naruto's attacks, weaving around them as if his body was paper.
"Kami-e, the evasive power." Lucci said as he returned to normal after Naruto's attack ended.
Naruto was gasping for air.
"Was that… with Haki?"
"Nope, just Kami-e, however, a bit of observation makes it better." Lucci told his student.
"Will you be…"
"No, I won't be teaching you haki." Lucci told Naruto. "I was ordered to teach you Rokushiki, if you want to learn haki find a different master."
Naruto nodded as he stood up.
"Now, what did I do while I was using Kami-e?" Lucci asked his student.
"Muscle stimulation like Tekkai, but instead of hardening muscles for defense, you stimulate their physical speed to dodge an attack, or…" Naruto scratched his chin. "To make your body act like paper?"
"Correct." Lucci said as he smirked in pride. "Try it out."
Naruto stood up straight, taking a deep breath and then exhaling.
"You ready?" Lucci asked as he held out his index finger.
"Yes."
"Shigan: Oren."
"Kami-e!"
Bael Mansion…
"How does it feel?" Bob asked Naruto.
Naruto… was twisted to say the least.
"My back…" Naruto whimpered with tears in his eyes as Bob's hands carefully pressed against the bend spine.
"One, two..." Bob said before he pushed Naruto's spine back into place, with three audible cracks echoing in the room before being silenced by Naruto's scream of pain. "Oh, I thought I used anesthetic."
Naruto's soul wavered out of his mouth, collapsing when Bob was done.
"He seems to be doing better, Bob." Misla said as she entered the room. "I'll take him to his room."
Bob bowed as Misla picked Naruto up.
"Hm?" Misla noticed how much heavier Naruto was. 'He has gotten bigger too. I should get him new clothes for his birthday.'
She smiled proudly as she walked to Naruto's room.
'To think he is almost ten, I remember when Sairaorg was his age.' Misla thought motherly as her head was in the clouds.
She reached Naruto's room and gently placed him in his bed, took off his shoes, undressed him, put his pajamas on, and then kissed Naruto's forehead.
"Good night, my little fox." Misla whispered into Naruto's ear, seeing it twitch.
Four days later…
Naruto stood with Regulus, Liban, and Beruka nearby.
"So, any new techniques you are going to show us?" Liban asked, getting excited to see more of Naruto's progress.
"No… well, one you guys haven't seen yet." Naruto said as he pulled out Shigure and pulled out his journal. 'I am so happy gramps wrote down Kitsunebi-ryu.'
He opened the journal to the Kitsunebi-ryu section, seeing the two techniques that Kurama had used during his life.
Homura Saki: the ability to cut fire.
Which Naruto knew and was still mastering to be better at.
Homura Saki: Rokudo no Tsuji.
This technique was used for Santoryu, so Naruto didn't bother learning it.
However, the journal had what he wanted to learn.
Fire Generation.
'I can cut fire with my blade and claws,' Naruto thought as he read the journal. 'But I should also learn how to create fire. And it says here that… adding fire chakra to the blade can cause it to generate fire… but what does that mean? Do I use hand signs? Pervy Sage was a Fire-Style user? He would know.'
Naruto's eyes began to water as he remembered Jiraiya.
He shook his head and dabbed his eyes before he continued to read.
'Okay, I guess I can try it out.' Naruto thought as he drew Shigure.
"What is the plan for today?" Beruka asked as he, Regulus, and Liban watched as Naruto's chakra flooded Shigure.
"I am trying…" Naruto grunted as he followed the instructions. "To ignite my sword in fire…"
"How…"
Naruto focused.
'Gramps wrote it out.' Naruto thought. 'He said 'like the projectile techniques, where you grind your chakra against each other to sharpen it, do the same but instead of sharpening, make it grind into itself to create a spark, like flint and steel'.'
Naruto did that.
He ground his chakra into itself like he would for Rankyaku or the Pound Ho techniques, but one grinding edge was focused differently.
'IGNITE!' Naruto thought as he grasped Shigure in both hands and raised it above his head before swinging down.
Naruto's eyes widened, a laughing smile forming as he felt the heat.
No visible flames, but the burned oxygen was visibly wavering in front of him before it cleared.
"YEAH!" Naruto shouted, jumping up and down as Regulus, Liban, and Beruka clapped. "I AM ON MY WAY TO MASTERING KITSUNEBI-RYU!"
Amazon Lily…
"Hm…" Hancock said as she sat on her bed. "A summons to China, but it doesn't say from who."
"Sister," Sandersonia said as she and Marigold stood next to Hancock's bed. "I think we should go."
"Sonia." Hancock said as she gracefully turned her head. "Why should I?"
"Because it could be Kamabakka." Sandersonia said in a small panic. "They could be asking to meet in secret. I mean, they did say a while ago they would be asking for help."
Hancock cutely pressed her finger against her lips in thought.
Spain, Hidden Gloom Castle …
"A personal invitation to a meeting in China." Dracule 'Hawkeye' Mihawk asked as he read the invite.
"What? An invite to China?" His associate shouted.
"Ghost Girl," Mihawk said in a dull tone. "Get your bags packed," Mihawk's eyes narrowed. "We are going on a trip."
"WE ARE GOING ON A TRIP!" Perona shouted in happiness.
"It isn't a trip." Mihawk corrected as he stood up, starring out from the balcony of the castle he and Perona lived. "We are going to see who knows of my home."
Perona pouted but did as told and got ready to leave.
Hawaii, Base of the Sun…
"Hm, China, huh." Aladine said as he hovered over Jinbe's shoulder.
"Hmm. I will be going." Jinbe said as he stood up. "This seems like I should investigate this, and report to Azazel if I deem it dangerous."
Aladine laughed.
"So concerned." Aladine said as Jinbe jumped into the water, starting his journey.
Sand Isle…
"GYAhahaha!" Kisame laughed as he sat on a sand cluster in the middle of the pacific. "A meeting of the Warlords? This could be fun."
Samehada grumbled, Kisame shrugging as he hefted the weapon onto his back.
"No matter, Samehada, we will feed once again!" He said as he jumped into the water.
Gobi Desert, Hidden Kingdom Ruins…
"Hm, this is troubling." Crocodile said as he looked up at his associates. "Daz, you are coming with me."
"Of course, Sir." Daz Bones said as he and his leader got up to leave for China.
Underworld…
Donquixote Doflamingo laughed as he threw the invite to the side, grabbing a bottle of alcohol.
"Sasori, get your best 'art' ready." Doflamingo called out before he put the bottle to his lips and chugged its contents before tossing it to the wall, standing up as he grabbed his pink feathered jacket, throwing it atop of his shoulders. "Because we are going to visit some interesting people."
"Of course, master." Sasori answered as he bowed. "I will be ready within the next five minutes."
Doflamingo's ever present smirk widened, showing off his teeth.
'This is going to be fun.'
Next day, Bael Mansion…
"Alright, everyone." Misla said as she stood before Sairaorg and his peerage, wearing glasses as she had a white board behind her. "Naruto's birthday is in a few days on the Tenth, so we need to come up with an idea for his birthday and a few gifts."
"We could get him some clothing." Kuisha said as she raised her hand.
"Already on it." Misla said as she wrote clothes on the board.
"How about some manga… or a familiar?" Coriana pitched.
"That works, but which…"
"Already on it." Regulus said as he started looking up the most recent popular manga, finding a lot of old classics.
"Oh, he needs a cellphone!" Sairaorg remembered.
"Okay, sounds good."
"But should we even give him one? He is going to be ten." Misteeta brought up.
"He will be fine." Misla said as she wrote 'Manga' and 'Cellphone' on the board.
"How about some spare swords? Incase he breaks the ones he has?" Liban threw out. "I know Vulcan would be happy to help."
Misla wrote it on the board.
"Hm, this doesn't seem like enough." Misla said as she over looked the board.
"Oh, I know who we can ask for help." Kuisha said with a shudder.
"Who?"
"… the Pink Place…" Kuisha said as her shudder got stronger.
Misla blinked a few times before pulling out the teleportation seal that took her to Kamabakka Queendom, appearing before Iva.
Meanwhile…
Naruto was sore.
"Stimulating my muscles…" Naruto whined with tears as Lucci sat on a tree stump reading a book. "It hurts… Sensei, what am I doing wrong?"
"That is for you to find out, kid." Lucci said as Hattori turned the page. "What works for me won't work for you."
Naruto pouted as he got back up and summoned his clones.
Half were to evade with Kami-e while the rest were on the offensive.
Naruto himself was on the Kami-e side.
Naruto and his clones continued… until Naruto's spine and a few joints dislocated themselves from their proper location.
"Hugh…" Lucci said in annoyance as he closed his book, walking up to the currently dislocated Kitsune.
Meanwhile…
"Rias, please help me!" Koneko begged her King as she clung to said girl's leg. "I need help!"
"With what?" Rias asked as she was trying to do her homework.
"Naruto's birthday is in a few days and I want to get him something!" Koneko stated as she got up. "I don't know what to get him!"
Akeno chuckled at how cute Koneko was acting.
"How old is he turning, Koneko?" Akeno asked as she looked at the Rook.
"Ten." Koneko said as she held up nine fingers, her pinky getting stuck before she got it held up.
"Hm, he is turning ten. A big birthday." Rias said as she put a finger to her temple. "Well, do you remember him liking anything?"
Koneko closed her eyes in thought.
An exclamation mark appeared above her head as her eyes snapped open.
"I KNOW, LET ME SEE YOUR COMPUTER!"
October 9th…
Naruto sighed in exhaustion at the dinner table as he drank his cola.
"You okay, Naruto?" Misla asked in concern as Naruto failed to eat his food, which was meatball pasta, while the meatball fell off his fork, splatting onto his plate.
"Huh? Yeah… why?" he asked before yawning.
Naruto wavered before face planting into his food.
"Good, the sleeping draught worked." Misla said as Naruto started to snore into the pasta sauce. "Alright, everyone, let's get everything…"
Sairaorg's phone went off.
"Hello?"
"Sup, Sairaorg, it's Rias."
"Hey, Rias," Sairaorg said as he moved to the hallway to get out of the way of his mother and peerage moving around and going to Kamabakka. "What do you need?"
"Koneko wants to visit tomorrow for Naruto's birthday…"
Sairaorg winced.
"Sorry, Rias, we are going out to celebrate Naruto's birthday…"
"WHAT!" Sairaorg heard from Koneko on the other side of the phone. "I CAN'T SPEND HIS BIRTHDAY WITH HIM!"
'Jesus that is loud.' Sairaorg thought as he put his phone back to his ear.
"Rias, if Koneko really wants to go, send her over now, that way she can help get everything ready." Sairaorg said before he heard a loud knock from the front door.
"Master Sairaorg, there is a young woman here with white hair saying she is here to help with Naruto's party." Bob told him through a magic communication seal.
"Let her in…" Sairaorg sighed.
Next Morning…
Naruto groaned as he woke up, hearing sounds of nature, a certain intense nipping of cold at his body as he turned over, pulling his blanket closer.
"…sh…"
"Not… time…"
He suddenly felt a weight on his body before something fuzzy covered his mouth and nose.
Naruto's face scrunched up as he continued to hear whispers around him.
"Huh?" Naruto mumbled as he reached up and rubbed his eyes, which snapped open when he saw the Kurotama on top of him. "Kurotama? What are you doing…"
Naruto sat up as he took the cat in his arms before he noticed the whole Queendom surrounding him.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY NARUTO!" the Okama shouted joyfully as they popped party favors.
Naruto's ears rang but he smiled as he remembered what today was.
It was his tenth birthday.
"NARUTO!"
Naruto turned as Kurotama got out of his arms only to be shot off of the bed he was sleeping on by Koneko tackling him off, hugging him tightly.
"AWE, YOUNG LOVE!" the crowd swooned as Sairaorg, Misla, Kuisha, Coriana, Regulus, Misteeta, Gandoma, Beruka, Ladora, Liban, Inazuma, and Iva approached him, carting a large barrel of gifts.
"Happy Birthday, yee-haw!" Iva shouted as he hugged Naruto.
Inazuma patted Naruto's head, sipping his wine with a smile.
"Thank you, you guys didn't have to." Naruto said as Koneko continued to hug him, positioned behind him with her arms around him, like he was carrying her on his back.
"Oh, nonsense." Iva said as he waved his hand to swat the nonsense away. "Now come on, it is time to party all day!"
Naruto jumped up with Koneko, looking forward to his tenth birthday with Sairaorg, Misla, Kuisha, Coriana, Regulus, Misteeta, Gandoma, Beruka, Ladora, and Liban giving him gifts.
He got two spare katana from Beruka and Liban. The swords were plain wooden sheath/handle swords.
Misteeta got Naruto a sketch book and pencils, saying it was a way for him to focus his energy in if he got bored with training.
Gandoma got Naruto a punching bag to be hung up in his room.
Ladora and Regulus presented Naruto with a literal mountain of Manga from the earliest days with Astro Boy to modern with Spy X Family.
Coriana and Kuisha gifted Naruto with a cellphone, which had all the important contacts in them, mostly the peerage, but it was given additional numbers from Iva, Inazuma, and Koneko.
Misla and Sairaorg bestowed to him new clothes of different styles for him to try, and a remake of his Bael Uniform which he didn't exactly look happy to have but thanked them for the clothes.
Finally, it was Koneko.
"I know you're going to love these." Koneko said as she handed Naruto a box.
With his tail swaying in excitement, Naruto opened it… and his jaw dropped.
Inside were two smaller boxes.
The Ultimagear Millennium Puzzle and Puzzle Box.
"Oh god… I forgot how much I loved Yugioh." Naruto said as he jumped up and hugged Koneko. "I love it, thank you, Koneko!"
Koneko smiled as she hugged him.
"I am glad you like it." She said before being daring.
She kissed Naruto's cheek… and many camera flashes caught it along with Koneko and Naruto's red faces.
Koneko released Naruto and smiled with her blush, a yearning in her eyes as she backed away with her hands behind her back.
The part continued for the rest of the day, with Koneko devouring the house sized cake like it was nothing.
Kurotama… Kuroka watched her sister and Naruto have fun as she sat on a nearby fence, desperately wanting to join in, but knew it was better to keep quiet.
'Happy birthday, Naruto.' She thought as she continued to watch the party.
As the festivities carried on in blissful ignorance, Jinbe and Kisame walked out of the water of Gulangyu Beach.
"Kisame…" Jinbe grumbled as he saw his fellow fishman yokai.
"Jinbe, so you are the one who sent that note to visit here in China?" Kisame chuckled as he drew Samehada, who gargled in glee. "I guess this feast will be blubbery."
Kisame took his Fishman Karate stance.
"Go ahead if you can, but this shark has plenty of bite." He said as he clenched his fist.
"Ho, what do we have here?"
Crocodile and Daz arrived via Sand teleportation.
"Crocodile?" Jinbe asked in confusion.
"And my day keeps getting better." Kisame said in glee.
"How uncouth you men are."
The men turned to see the Kuja ship arrive, its cloaking magic ending to reveal itself and to show Boa Hancock with Sandersonia and Marigold at her side.
The boat landed nearby, with a plank being positioned for the Boa Sisters to walk onto the sand.
"Hancock, now I know the world is giving me my deserved feast!" Kisame said as heavy amounts of drool poured from his mouth.
"As bestial as ever, Hoshigaki."
Kisame's smile and glee threated to sever the top part of his head as Mihawk appeared with Perona, who was floating behind the Strongest Swordsman.
"Wow, the Warlords." Perona said in awe as she saw the six individuals that had earned that title.
"Now this is what I call a party."
Doflamingo and Sasori, wearing a large red cloak with a pouch around his shoulder, its bag on his hip, appeared.
The air was tense as the Warlords were prepared to fight at any moment, the only sounds heard were the crashing of waves.
"Good…" a new voice said, causing all who were present to turn to see the speaker. "You are all here."
They were of average height with long orange hair in a pony tail. His eyes were a strange rippled pattern, with his body heavily pierced as he wore a black cloak with red clouds on them.
"Who are you?" Doflamingo laughed as he raised his hand, flexing his fingers.
This individual didn't reply to Doflamingo, but all those present prepared to attack as they ran through several hand signs.
"Summoning!" they stated as they slammed their hands down on the ground, a gigantic plume of smoke enveloping everyone before it passed to show a large table, several chairs, and six more people.
Konan and Pain, with Deva Pain sitting at the head of the table.
"Sit, I implore you, my fellow Warlords." Pain urged politely. "I have a proposition for all of you."
Chapter 16, DONE!
I am honestly surprised that this has not happened yet.
But the Warlords are having… a meeting.
Just to remind you, incase you are confused, the Warlords are just several really strong people who are apart of a group outside of the Factions or solo acts that did something so great or bad that they are given the Title of Warlord.
So, them having a meeting at all is a big deal if any of the factions find out.
