Chapter 18: Grit of Spirit

Kamabakka Queendom…

"What are you going to do on your day off, Kuroka~" One of the amazing females asked out resident Cat as they ate breakfast that morning.

"I am going to check in on Naruto." Kuroka replied as she ate her sushi with a bright smile.

"But that is dangerous, isn't it? I mean, you have a criminal record." Her friend, who was named Felecia, said in concern. "And what about your sister? Aren't you going to check in on her too?"

"Guts sends me texts and updates me on Shirone, so I already know she is doing alright." Kuroka answered as she remembered the last message Guts sent her was a photo of Koneko standing against a measuring stick, showing how much she had grown. "Don't worry about me being caught, Felecia, I have my ways of not being captured."

Bael Mansion Surrounding Woods…

Kuroka, taking the form of a Calico cat, scuttled through the woods.

She had teleported a few miles south of the mansion to not be detected by the devils from her teleportation circle.

'Good thing the Kuja taught me how to hide my presence.' Kuroka thought as she reached the Mansion in record time.

Closing her eyes, Kuroka felt a mass of life signatures on the bottom floor where the eating area was.

Knowing where to go, Kuroka made her way to the window sill and jumped up.

"I WHAT!" Kuroka heard as she perched herself on the window and listened in as the Mansion of Bael shook, glass rattled, and metal warped slightly.

"I BECAME A MASTER!" Naruto shouted, covered in bandages as his face was heavily swollen from the beating Lucci gave him.

"Yeah, its what Lucci said." Sairaorg told his Pawn.

It was the following morning, Lucci had beaten Naruto into unconsciousness following the end of the test.

"Well, congratulations are in order." Misla said happily as she patted Naruto's head. "We will hold a celebration tonight, so we have time to prepare."

Naruto nodded, a big excited smile on his face as he did.

"What do you want for dinner?" Kuisha asked Naruto.

"RAMEN!" Naruto shouted as he jumped into the air with Geppo. "OH, AND CAN KONEKO COME OVER? PLEASE?"

Kuroka couldn't help but giggle at Naruto's childish antics.

Jumping from the window sill to a nearby bush, Kuroka hid for nearly an hour before she felt Koneko appear via Teleport circle.

Shortly after, Koneko, Misla, and Naruto left the Bael Mansion with Kuroka following them from a distance.

They entered Asmoda, Naruto running ahead in excitement.

"Naruto, slow down!" Misla called out before Koneko ran after Naruto.

"Bleh!" Naruto blew a raspberry at Misla before he took off again… before running into someone.

Naruto hit the ground, but easily picked himself up, dusting himself off.

"I am sorry." Naruto said as he bowed apologetically.

"Watch where you are going, you little brat!"

"You little punk, be careful of who you touch. Do you know who our boss is?"

Naruto looked up and saw the devil he ran into and his buddies.

"Waraji, Zori, it is fine." The man Naruto ran into said as he dusted his suit off. "Nothing… serious."

The man had shaggy brown hair and sported a pair of small, circular black glasses. He wore a black suit with a purple tie, a yellow shirt underneath his coat and closed-toed shoes.

Waraji is of tall stature, donning an eye-patch over his right eye and brown hair which he parts in three, finishing in an elaborate topknot. He had an intricate tattoo that seemingly stretches across his entire left side and left right, inner thigh, as well as a stitched scar on the left side of his forehead, and the left side of his mouth. He wore what seems to be a loose-fitting kimono, albeit not in the traditional manner as the top half of the outfit falls around his waist leaving his upper body exposed. He had bandages wrapped around his waist, with simple sandals and carries a fairly long sword.

Zōri was a light-skinned man with bluish-white hair and black eyes. Lined markings are tattooed under his eyes. He wore a dark purple hat on his head, the top of which extends far beyond the top of his head. He wore a blue jacket with multiple pockets and tied to his waist was blue handled katana.

"Naruto, are you okay?" Misla said as she and Koneko reached him, looking over and recognizing the man. "Mayor Gato."

"You his mother?" Gato asked as he looked Misla up and down. "Or baby sitter?"

"She is my grandmother!" Naruto stated, stepping before Gato.

"He is a member of my son's peerage, sir." Misla explained as she pushed Naruto and Koneko behind her.

Gato cupped his chin, scratching it in thought before he waved it off with a chuckle.

"It was an accident." Gato said with a smile, holding out his hand. "I wasn't paying attention either."

Misla nervously took Gato's hand and shook it.

"Well, I bid you three a good day." Gato said with a chuckle, moving his head to have Waraji and Zori follow him.

Misla wiped the sweat off of her forehead, before she flicked Naruto's nose.

"Ow."

"Don't run off, and DON'T run without looking where you are going." Misla told him sternly.

"HAha, you're in trouble." Koneko laughed.

Naruto frowned and grabbed Koneko's cheeks, pulling them.

"OWOWOWOW!" Koneko screamed as she flailed around, all the while Kuroka watching Naruto and Koneko with a loving smile.

She honestly wished she was the one guiding them instead.

Hour later…

"… better be careful on the way home Misla. I have heard of kidnapping around these parts recently." The Cashier told Misla as she paid for the items they needed while Naruto and Koneko ran through the grocery store like maniacs. "When you leave you should head home without delay."

"Alright, Cheshire." Misla told her friend as she accepted her change.

"TAG, YOU'RE IT!" Naruto shouted from a distance as he avoided Koneko's attempt at tagging him.

"Hm, seems Naruto has a friend." Cheshire pointed out as she finished bagging Misla's items, handing it to her.

"Yep…" Misla said with a smile before she winced at a loud crashing sound. "And I'll be right back."

Misla took her grocery bag, turned heel, and stomped over to the children, with Naruto on the ground surrounded by a pile of cans scattered on the floor with Koneko standing next to him.

"Oh god, oh god…" Naruto chanted in a panic as he got off the floor while Koneko fidgeted in her spot.

Both felt a strong sense of fear creep up their spines as Misla stood behind them.

"You're grounded." She stated as she grabbed their hands and briskly walked out of the store.

"Why am I grounded?" Naruto asked as he tried to pull against Misla's grip, but failed.

Kuroka stalked across a nearby fence before jumping up to a roof.

"You caused a mess, and I had to pay for it." Misla told him.

"But Koneko pushed me!"

"Then it is up to Rias to punish Koneko." Misla huffed with a sigh.

She honestly didn't like being angry or aggressive, but she was embarrassed Naruto and Koneko had made a mess and a scene.

"Wait, was this route always closed off?" Misla asked as she realized that the path that she normally took had been closed off for road work. "I guess we need to go this way today."

She turned, seeing the path that they would use.

It was… a Red-Light District.

It was a small street, similar to China Town in San Francisco, full of shops for adults.

But it was not a place for children.

However, it was a short detour that led to the main road.

"Naruto, Koneko," Misla said in a low, serious tone as she squeezed their hands. "Don't let go of my hands."

Naruto and Koneko nodded, squeezing Misla's hands in return to show her they understood.

'What is she doing?' Kuroka thought as she sped across a metal cable that entered the district. 'Why is she entering when there is no need to?'

Kuroka looked at the other route, not seeing any reason as there was no traffic or lack of space.

'Something is wrong.' Kuroka thought as Misla, Naruto, and Koneko kept their heads down, passing several… merchants offering their wares. 'There is something VERY wrong.'

"Hey, babe, ditch the runts and come have a good time…" A man said as Misla rushed herself, Naruto, and Koneko through the district.

'Good, we are almost…' Misla thought before seeing familiar faces appeared in her peripheral.

It was Waraji on the left, and Zori on the right.

Their swords drawn, but the sheathes on the blades still

Misla pushed Naruto and Koneko away, but was not fast enough to dodge as the swords struck her in the head.

Kuroka's eyes widened as she saw blood coat the sheathes as Misla collapsed.

"You idiot, Gato said he wanted her uninjured." Waraji shouted at Zori, smacking his cohort outside the head with his hand.

"Fucking jackoff, you hit her too, so don't blame me for this!" Zori shouted as he went to grab the collapsed Matriarch.

Only his hand hit the ground with a fresh spray of blood.

"Now!" Naruto growled as Zori screamed in pain, holding his stump as Naruto held Yubashiri while Koneko grabbed Misla, picking her up with ease thanks to her Rook enhanced strength. "Get out of here, Ko…"

Naruto was sucker kicked in the gut by Waraji, being sent into the air with the air knocked out of him.

'Damn it, I wasn't focused…' Naruto thought as he was close to passing out as he hit the ground.

"NA!" Koneko screamed before she was grabbed by one of the Merchants, who worked for Gato.

"Guess we are going to be making a fuck ton of cash…" The merchant chuckled disturbingly as he looked Koneko.

"Come on, we need to get them to the warehouse, quickly." Waraji ordered as he put his sword away, grabbing Zori's hand. "Get your hand back on."

"Fuck you!" Zori shouted as he took his hand back.

Kuroka shook in rage, but didn't budge as Misla, Naruto, and Koneko were bound and gagged before being loaded into a truck with Waraji smirking as he picked up Yubashiri.

Scampering as fast as she could, Kuroka jumped onto the roof of the car before it took off.

'Don't worry, I'll save you!' Kuroka thought as she clung to the roof with all her might.

She couldn't risk her identity being leaked; it would cause to much trouble.

Sadly, Kuroka was tossed off when they hit a speed bump, her claws being torn out.

"FUCK!" Kuroka screamed as she was flung off the truck, hitting the ground and rolling into the dirt, her paws bleeding where her claws had been.

Forcing herself to ignore her pain, Kuroka ran down the road, following the truck.

Twenty Minutes Later, Abandoned Warehouse …

Waraji and Zori stood in Gato's office while Misla, Naruto, and Koneko were tied into chairs with magic enhanced ropes at their wrists, waists, and ankles.

Misla's eyes were cracked open, her eyes dull as of she was awake but sleeping.

Naruto and Koneko had their mouths gagged with metal tubes.

"YOU IDIOTS!" Gato shouted as he threw his paperwork off of his desk, storming over to Waraji and Zori. "I SAID SHE WASN'T TO BE INJURED!"

He walked up to the barely awake Misla, grabbing her by the hair, lifting her head up to show the dried blood.

"BUT WHAT IS THIS?"

"Sorry, boss, we were aiming for the kids, but she got in the way." Zori answered, his hand having been reattached and wrapped up in bandages.

"But we can still sell the kids and the swords the fox had on him." Waraji pointed out as he personally had Yubashiri at his side.

When they arrived at the warehouse, they took everything Naruto, Misla, and Koneko had on them (Except their clothes).

They had found Shigure, Naruto's spare Shirasaya swords, his money, and terrifyingly, Kurama's journal while they looked through his frog wallet.

"True." Gato said in an angered, calming breath. "But our goods can't be sold when they are damaged!"

"But that means we can keep her, right?" Waraji asked, a sick smile on his face. "I mean, you did put the illusion spell on her when you two shook hands, which led to her taking the route through the Red-Light District."

Gato thought about it, looking at the in and out of conscious woman.

"Yeah, yeah we can keep her." He said as he caressed Misla's face, feeling her soft skin against his hands.

"HHHHMMMM!"

Gato turned his attention to Naruto, who angrily glared at him.

Strong was his glare as he aggressively tried to break free, but couldn't.

"Keep struggling, brat." Gato said as he removed his hand from Misla and stood before Naruto. "It will make what we do to you much more cathartic."

"Oh, you are going to do that boss?" Zori asked with some sick excitement in his eyes.

"Yeah, give me the pliers." Gato said as he smiled darkly.

Koneko was on the verge of tears as she struggled to break free.

The rope would have been easy to break for herself and Naruto, but with it being strengthened by magic, neither could snap it.

"You two have heard of Demon Swords, right?" Gato asked as Waraji handed him a pair of pliers. "I bet you do. But do you know how they are made?"

He removed the metal tube from Naruto's mouth, standing far enough for Naruto to bite at him, growling.

"Let us go, you disgusting fat tub of fuck!" He demanded as Kuroka entered, stalking through the rafters above them in cat form.

"You got spirit kid, but you are nothing." Zori said as he flexed his fingers. "Boss, let me do the first hand full, I got to pay this little shit back for taking off my hand."

Gato chuckled as he handed the pliers over.

"GET AWaackkkk!" Naruto shouted before his mouth was forced open by Waraji using dentist equipment to hold it.

"As I was saying," Gato continued as Zori walked before Naruto. "Demon Swords are made from demon bones, scales, claws…" The pliers were put into Naruto's mouth, gripping onto one of his teeth. "And teeth."

Naruto's eyes widened a half second before Zori violently jerked out Naruto's lateral incisor.

Kuroka quivered in anger as she heard Naruto's blood curdling scream as Zori held his tooth in his hand.

'I am sorry, Naruto…' She thought as she prepared her plan to attack.

"Look at that, Boss, his tooth is already growing back!" Zori laughed as her pointed at the bleeding gum area.

"Good, we can supply the black smiths with kitsune fangs for some powerful swords…" Gato stated before Zori tore out Naruto's Center Incisor, earning another scream that reverberated from the young bow. "Take the other two away. Put the woman in my quarters, pump her full of drugs, and strip her. Take the little girl to the kennels where she will be kept until she is sold."

"Ucker…" Naruto said through the mouth opener. "On't… et… ou… et… way…"

"What was that?" Gato taunted as he cupped his ear, Kuroka returning to human form, her fingers bleeding from her nails having been torn out, ready to draw Wado Ichimonji with her blood coated hands. "Speak up, brat? What won't you do?"

Naruto snarled as he glared hatefully at Gato in a rage.

"I WON'T LET YOU!" Naruto shouted, breaking the mouth opener in the process as Kuroka grabbed Wado Ichimonji, preparing to jump down.

A blast of untamed Conqueror's haki exploded as Naruto screamed, stopping Kuroka in her tracks as the entire warehouse was hit with Naruto's attack.

Gato, Waraji, and Zori's eyes went white as they collapsed while foaming at the mouth.

Every worker collapsed in similar fashion in the entire building.

'He… he is a conqueror… Jiraiya wasn't… lying…' Kuroka thought as she fought to stay awake while she remembered that day.

The day they found their village burned, the corpses of the citizens strewn about, and the scent of death.

'I thought he was exaggerating…' Kuroka thought as she jumped down and landed before the tied-up trio. 'But he was right…'

Naruto was out, having exerted himself.

Koneko and Misla were knocked out.

'At least they aren't hurt more…' Kuroka thought with a sigh of relief.

"Ack…"

Kuroka's hair stood on end as she heard someone shuffle to get up.

"Who… are you…"

Kuroka turned, snarling as she saw Gato stumbling to stand.

"Hm… a Nekomata…" Gato groaned as he leaned onto his desk. "I can make…"

Wado Ichimonji stabbed Gato in the torso, Kuroka twisting the blade.

"BLEAAGCKKKKA!" Gato croaked out as Kuroka twisted her blade once again, the edge pointing upward.

With a flick of her wrists, Kuroka' upward bisected Gato, slicing into his throat, violently jerking her blade out at the throat.

Gato died instantly as his corpse collapsed, his blood soaking the desk and floor, a look of shock etched onto his face.

Huffing in anger, Kuroka swung Wado Ichimonji diagonally, Gato's blood being flung off, the blade clean before she sheathed her sword.

Taking deep breathes, Kuroka pulled out a paper seal, activating it.

The seal got brighter as a bigger seal appeared.

The light became too bright before it dulled and died, revealing Guts, Casca, Judeau, Pippin, and Rickert.

"Kuroka…" Guts asked before he took in the scene. "What happened?"

"This sick fuck…" Kuroka stated with a head tilt toward Gato as she turned and walked toward Waraji, taking Yubashiri from him. "Tried to sell Naruto, Shirone, and this woman as slaves…" She drew Yubashiri and used it to cut the rope tying them down. "I killed him."

Casca ran up to Koneko and checked on her as Pippin carefully picked up Misla while Judeau put Naruto on his shoulder.

"Kuroka, I understand, but what did you do to knock them out?" Judeau's asked as he realized how everyone else was out cold instead of dead.

Kuroka sheathed Yubashiri.

"Naruto did it." Kuroka stated as she walked over to the table that held all of the possessions they took from Naruto. "He used Conqueror's haki to do it."

Casca, Guts, and Judeau were shocked at this revelation.

"What do you want us to do?" Pippin asked as he approached his friend, holding Misla carefully.

Kuroka turned, the blood covering her face and clothes giving her a disturbing look.

"Arrest them… kill them… I don't care…" She said as she leaned onto the table. "Just Naruto, Shirone, and the woman somewhere safe…"

Guts walked up and took Naruto's things as Koneko was picked up by Casca, Pippin and Judeau out while Rickert started tying everyone up.

"Kuroka, why didn't you stop this before Naruto used his haki?" Guts asked as he put all of Naruto's things in his wallet.

Kuroka stayed quiet as she opened Kurama's journal, seeing that it held the Revolutionary's techniques, she pulled out her phone and took pictures of each page.

"I… I…" Kuroka choked out as she thought of what to say, but each thought sounded like an excuse. "I couldn't… I didn't… Shirone…"

Guts realized he was pushing Kuroka, and simply put his hand on her shoulder.

"I understand, you don't need to tell me if it's hard." He said as he took Kurama's journal, putting it back in the wallet.

"I was selfish…" She stated. "I was scared… I couldn't take revealing myself yet because I didn't want Shirone to think I was a monster…"

"Guts, I need help." Rickert called out.

"Okay." Guts replied before returning his eye onto Kuroka. "You need to get out of here, we will take care of it."

"Thank you." Kuroka thanked.

"Thank me by not getting caught." Guts joked.

Kuroka chuckled as she prepared to leave, kneeling down and grabbing the two teeth that had been taken from Naruto in her hand.

"Thank you, Guts." Kuroka repeated as she returned to Kamabakka via Teleport circle.

Skip, Bael Mansion…

Sairaorg was panicking.

Misla lay on her bed with bloodied bandages on her head.

The servants were working as hard as they could for Misla as they ran around, words merging into a blithering sound that Sairaorg tuned out as he held Misla's hand.

"Sairaorg, Mr. Shimura is here!" Rob informed as he entered the room.

Danzo entered with two men behind him, carrying bags.

"Everyone out!" Danzo shouted as he motioned toward the door. "I will do what I can to figure out what happened, but we need space."

Sairaorg didn't leave.

'Mother…' He thought in concern.

"Sairaorg, you need to leave." Danzo said as he put his hand on Sairaorg's shoulder. "I'll do my best to save her."

Sairaorg begrudgingly left with Rob, shutting the door.

Once the door was shut, Danzo's concern faded.

'This could not have worked out more perfectly.' Danzo thought as he turned to his assistance. "Fuu, Torune, secure the room, I don't want to be disturbed. After that, get the medical equipment set up for Misla."

"Yes, sir." Fuu and Torune said as they got to work on securing the room as Danzo reached into a bag and pulled out a package of syringes.

'Now, to get what I want, I will do what I must.' Danzo thought as he pulled out a small vial. 'Young Uzumaki will be mine.'

He uncapped the syringe and stabbed it into the vial, pulling the plunger and thus the liquid in.

He moves it to Misla's arm.

Meanwhile…

"Sairaorg, where is Koneko!" Rias asked as she appeared in the Bael Mansion, having just received word about the attack.

"Koneko is in Naruto's room, she is sleeping." Sairaorg replied in exhaustion.

Rias sighed in relief.

"Do you know what happened?"

"You'd want to ask me that."

Rias turned on her heel to see Guts leaning on the wall, arms crossed.

"Guts… why are you here?"

"Koneko's phone ghost called me." Guts explained, lying straight to Rias's face as he would protect Kuroka. "I answered and I heard the voices of men talking about… slavery, sex slaves, and other things."

Guts closed his eye, anger filling his body as he took a deep breath.

"Thank god you got there in time…" Rias thanked as she bowed. "Thank you for saving Koneko."

"Thank you for saving mother and Naruto." Sairaorg thanked as he bowed as well.

"It is no problem, I care about Koneko too, she is my friend." Guts waved off. "But I didn't make it in time. By the time we got there, Naruto had two teeth removed and all three of them were unconscious."

He kept certain details to himself, least he has to explain how he knew of the method that knocked them out.

A scream of pain pulled them from their conversation.

"Naruto?"

Sairaorg ran to his Pawn's room, followed by Rias and Guts.

"FUCK, MY MOUTH!"

The door was opened and the three Kings saw Naruto on the floor, holding his mouth in pain.

"Naruto, what…"

"My teeth… they hurt!" Naruto whined as he opened his mouth to show what he was talking about.

In the gums of the missing teeth, two new teeth were starting to grow in their place.

"Your teeth are growing back in. that is why it hurts, kid." Guts said as he knelt down to get a better look. "Give it a day or two and they will be back to normal."

"I HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS FOR TWO DAYS!"

"Naru…"

"Koneko?"

Koneko shifted, sitting up as she wiped her eyes.

"What happened… where are we?" Koneko asked before she was pulled into a hug by Rias and Guts.

"I was so worried, how are you doing? They didn't hurt you did they?" Rias rapid-fired asked.

"They didn't… but…" Koneko replied, remembering what had happened. "Naruto got it worse… so did Misla… but then…"

Koneko looked at Naruto as he was whining at how much pain he was in to his King.

'He used Haki… right?' Koneko thought as she remembered Fujima mentioning the three different kinds of Haki. 'Didn't old man Jiraiya mention that before? I swear someone did… or am I remembering it wrong.'

"Then what?" Rias asked in concern.

"I don't know, it went black." Koneko answered.

Guts explained how he found Koneko, Naruto, and Misla, and how he was able to bring them back home.

All the while, Danzo worked on Misla.

Meanwhile, Kamabakka Queendom…

"You lost control." Iva said in irritation.

"Yes…" Kuroka said as she sat on her knees before Iva. "Please… Iva… help me control my emotions…"

Iva sighed before he chopped Kuroka's head.

"It is something you learn as you grow." Iva told her wisely as a welt appeared on Kuroka's head. "You are fifteen, almost sixteen. You have plenty of time to grow and mature."

Kuroka bit her lip, not liking the lesson Iva gave her.

But she accepted it.

"There is one thing that could be considered good, with a certain point of view." Kuroka said, causing Iva and Inazuma to quirk their eyebrows.

Kuroka brought out the two teeth that belonged to Naruto.

Two Days Later…

"She is in a coma." Danzo said as he stood before Sairaorg, having finished his examination.

Sairaorg gripped Misla's hand as the rain hit the window, showing the gray skies.

She was hooked up to machines in her bed, sleeping… or was she.

"What…" Sairaorg asked as he was not sure if he heard Danzo correctly.

Danzo sighed as he prepared for any negative reactions.

"Misla is in a coma, Sairaorg." He told the Young Bael. "It seems that blows to her head triggered the disease, but then…" Danzo paused to give Sairaorg a moment. "Your Pawn attacked her."

Sairaorg sat up, anger in his eyes.

"What an accusation, Mr. Shimura." He said in restrained anger.

"It is entirely possible." Danzo replied without hesitation. "Your Pawn is descended from the Great Revolutionary and the Red Reaper. Both had an ability called Conqueror's Haki. It gives the user the ability to dominate the will of those they target."

"That… it's like the Vapula's Lion Taming power." Sairaorg responded in shock.

"Yes, and with Naruto being young, he can't control it." Danzo continued. "Young Guts said that when he arrived, everyone was out cold, except the former mayor of Asmoda."

Sairaorg's fingers angrily twitched at the mention of Gato.

Guts had brought his remains and evidence of Devil Trafficking, Drug Dealing, and Prostitution while succeeding in his Mayoral duties.

Even though Guts claimed he killed the man when he tried to harm Misla, Naruto, and Koneko, people had their doubts, with Sairaorg and Danzo being some of them.

"I know you said you'd think about it, but I once again urge you to let me train the young boy." Danzo offered. "I am a yokai, and I have experience with Conquerors. My mentors were Conquerors, so I know how they work."

"I'll think about it." Sairaorg said in a defeated tone, everything feeling like it was weighing down heavily on him.

Danzo nodded, internally irritated that Sairaorg once again spurned his offers.

Danzo left the Mansion after that, passing by the peerage in the hall.

His eye landed on Naruto and lingered.

The possibilities of what he could do being so tempting, but the Baku-Yokai walked.

Naruto shakily entered the room with the peerage, all of them comforting Sairaorg.

Naruto looked at Misla.

He reached out to take her hand.

"DON'T TOUCH HER!" Sairaorg shouted as he grabbed Naruto. "YOU DID THIS, SO DON'T TOUCH HER!"

"SAIRAORG, WHAT THE FUCK!" Kuisha shouted as she watched Sairaorg push Naruto away.

Naruto held his arm, tears in his eyes as the words Sairaorg shouted echoing in his mind.

'I… I did this…' He thought before his tail shivered between his legs.

Sairaorg took deep breathes.

'Oh, shit…' He thought, realizing the destructiveness of his words. "Hey… I'm…"

Naruto ran out of the room, transforming into his fox form to run faster.

"What the fuck!" Liban shouted as he pushed Sairaorg's shoulder, making Sairaorg turn to face him. "What was that 'it's your fault' shit you spouted?"

"Naruto has an ability called Conqueror's haki!" Sairaorg explained quickly. "He used it and it helped do this… But I didn't mean to… I was…"

Sairaorg sat down, his hands running through his hair as he tried to get his thoughts together.

"I'll go get Naruto." Kuisha said as she walked to the door, stopping at the threshold. "Make sure you apologize, Sairaorg."

Cemetery…

Naruto sat before Jiraiya's grave, a deep hole near him from having punched the ground.

Mud and rain water soaked his clothing as he felt choked.

'It's my fault!' He tearfully thought as he punched the ground again. 'Pervy Sage, what should I do!'

The rain that hit him stopped as Kuisha walked behind him, holding an umbrella.

"Naruto, come back in, you're going to catch a nasty cold." Kuisha urged as she knelt next to the boy.

"Do you think he hates me?"

"Who?" Kuisha asked as she helped Naruto get to his feet.

"Sairaorg… will he get rid of me?"

"No, no, Sairaorg would never do that." Kuisha said in shock as she didn't expect Naruto to say that.

"But I hurt… I hurt…" Naruto sputtered, babbling through his anguish.

Kuisha hugged Naruto, and he reciprocated without a fight, wailing into Kuisha's shoulder.

"It's going to be okay, Naruto." Kuisha said softly as she picked him up with her Queen enhanced strength. "It will be alright."

"How can you be so sure?" Naruto hiccupped.

"Time Heals all Wounds." Kuisha quoted.

"But that could take forever." Naruto whimpered as Kuisha walked through the garden to get them back inside the house.

"Yes, it could, but it is necessary." Kuisha said.

What else could she say besides these obvious statements to help calm Naruto down.

"Kuisha…"

"Yes?"

"… do you think… Sairaorg will… forgive me?" Naruto whispered.

Kuisha blinked in surprise.

"I am sure Sairaorg will forgive you, but before that, let's get you warmed up with a shower, don't want to get sick, do we?" Kuisha asked him.

Naruto shook his head as they got to the door.

Bael Mansion, Next Morning…

"I am excited for tonight." Beruka said as he ate his biscuit.

"Yeah, the Festival of the End is this week." Gandoma replied in equal excitement.

Small talk about the festival as Naruto ate in silence.

He didn't feel hungry, but he felt pressured and didn't believe he could eat.

Down the table, Sairaorg sat at the head of the table, his stomach turning in ways that made him feel like he would be sick if he tried to eat anything.

The silence over the two was suffocating.

"Naruto, what about you?"

"Hm… wha…"

"The festival? Aren't you excited?" Regulus asked with a bright smile, holding out a plate of bacon to the fox. "The Festival of the End starts tonight, meaning you will experience it for the first time."

"I don't even know what that is…" Naruto spoke softly as he looked at the Lion Pawn.

"I'll explain." Regulus said as he ate his food. "It is a festival to pay respects to all who died during the Faction War, the Devil Civil War, and praise the Heroes who ended it."

"Okay…" Naruto said sadly as he took some bacon and nibbled on it.

"Yeah, we get to wear nice outfits tonight." Coriana said in happiness. "I am going to wear a dress, and have all the boys drooling over me."

Everyone rolls their eyes.

Breakfast was eaten and the day went by fast, and before everyone knew it, they were wearing their dress clothes and approaching Lucifer's castle for the Festival of the End.

Chapter 18, DONE!

Sorry it took so long, had a little bit of writer's block with this one.

But I finished it.

Yes, Gato is in this chapter, and this chapter alone.

I didn't want Misla to fall to the sickness, which is apparently a common sickness, that makes you go comatose and then slowly die.

I know I did this in Werefox of Bael, but I feel it was… bad. This feels a bit better and pushed Naruto to the point of using his Conqueror's Haki, and accidently push the disease into activating.

Stupid?

Yes.

Is it better?

Sept. 6th, 2022...

So, I see that there was an issue with the Haki/Misla's disease situation. I made the effort to alter the chapter, and hopefully it works better now, but I am surprised people didn't put the pieces together to see what actually happened.

That is on me I guess, but I hope you enjoyed the changes.
