The Daily Lives of The Owl Familia: P2 Vee's first Outing

Summary: After her fun morning with her family, Vee ventures outside the Owl House since her move.

Timeline: Two weeks had passed since Vee and Camila moved to the demon realm.

Maybe this wasn't a good idea, Vee thought to herself. The "knocked-down" basilisk kept close to her mother as they walked around Bonesborough. She knew this was just her being paranoid, but she couldn't help but feel like everyone was looking at her.

Camila frowned as she looked down at her demon daughter clinging tight to her.

"Cria," the human beast-keeper spoke softly. "If this is too much, we could head home?"

Vee looked up at her mother and soon got a determined look in her eyes.

"Me, Otay!" the "knocked-down" demon nearly shouted and puffed out her chest.

Camila giggled at how cute her second daughter was being and leaned down. Vee blushed slightly as her mother kissed her on the cheek. Camila laughed again at this and then picked her daughter up.

The human adult looked around and smiled; the entire Familia had decided to head out after lunch and enjoyed the day.

Lilith and Amity were widow-shopping at a nearby potion shop. Luz and Eda, Camila frowned as she realized her daughter and mentor/second mother wasn't in view.

She started to panic, knowing full well how much trouble Luz could cause just in a few minutes.

She looked around and was relieved when she saw Eda and Luz exit the potion shop Lilith and Amity had been widowing shopping a minute ago.

She got closer to her new family as the sisters started a conversation.

"Lily!" Eda said, a hint of excitement in her voice. "They finally get that shipment of Hedgezor's fur!"

Camila frowned as she watched Lilith and Amity beam at this. She went to ask what the fuss was about when she felt a tug on her shirt.

"Yes, Vee?" Camila asked, "What's up."

Vee looked up at her mother with pleading eyes and then looked to the store next to the potion shop. Camila followed her adopted daughter's eyes and smiled. Vee was looking at a toy store.

"Would you like to go in there, Cria?" the human asked warmly.

Vee looked at her mother and nodded bashfully. Camila giggled at this and looked at her family.

"Vee and I are going to visit the Toy Hold," she told her family.

Lilith paused her conversation with her blood sister and looked at Camila with a smile, nodding. The human beast-keeper returned the gesture and headed into the store.

Camila didn't know what to expect when she entered the store but was still slightly surprised; the place itself was somewhat tame, unlike the parts of the Isles she had seen.

Still, she kept herself on guard just to be safe. She set Vee down, and the two began to browse.

Just like a toy store in the human realm, the Toy Hold had its items set up in a certain way. The toys for the younger kids, like Vee's current age, were all in front of the door, easily spotted when one entered.

Camila and Vee were looking around when a store employee appeared in a puff of smoke.

"Welcome!" the witch said in an over-happy tone. "Here at the Toy Hold, we hold the highest standards with our customers! Is there anything I can help you with?"

Startled, Vee let out a noise and fell onto her butt. The impact caused her tail to pop out, and she was close to crying.

Camila was on her daughter instantly, hugging Vee and whispering comforting words in Spanish. The store employee dropped his act and looked at the mother and daughter with concern.

"I'm sorry," the witch said in concern, "I was just doing as instructed. Is your kid going to be okay?

"...Si," Camlila replied, eyes on Vee.

The witch frowned as he looked at the basilisk and got an idea. With a dramatic wave of his hand, he made a small illusion. The illusion got Vee's attention, and she looked at the image of two witches doing a funny dance.

The "knocked-down" Basilisk giggled when one of the illusions tripped and fell, making a cute squeak. Camila smiled as she saw her adopted daughter relax. She leaned down and kissed Vee's head.

The store employee looked at the human mother with an apologetic smile. Camila understood the gesture and nodded as she looked at Vee.

"Cria, would you like to look around now?" the human asked softly.

Vee looked up at her mother and slowly nodded. Camila smiled at this and then helped Vee put on her footwear after she turned her tail back into her legs. The human stood up with Vee in her arms, and the two continued browsing.

It didn't even take five minutes for Vee to find the perfect toy.

"Mommy, mommy!" Vee said excitedly, pointing at a shelf.

Camila looked to where Vee was pointing and saw a griffon plush toy. The human mother warmly smiled as she went over and leaned down so Vee could eagerly grab the toy.

Camila giggled as Vee hugged the toy as the two continued to look around the store.
