The Daily Lives of The Owl Familia: P2:
Skara's First Day: part 1

Summary: Skara and her mother enjoy Skara's first "knocked-down" weekend.

Timeline: a month had passed since Camila and Vee moved to the Demon Realm

Skara Siren could barely keep herself from giggling as she entered her mother's room. A small giggle did escape her when she saw her mother still fast asleep.

She walked up to the head of her mother's bed and took a deep breath. Suddenly, she was grabbed by magic and lifted into the bed.

"Mom-me," Skara moaned, pouting cutely. "No faiw!"

Nora simply giggled as she put her arms around Skara.

"Dear," Nora replied warmly, "Who wouldn't remember something as cute as your singing to me every morning."

Skara smiled as she blushed slightly and snuggled into her mother. Nora smiled at this and hugged her daughter a little tighter.

"But…you can sing me a song," Nora encouraged, "It's a long weekend, and we both could do with little more sleep."

Skara smiled ear to ear and took a deep breath. She began to sing a melody, and Nora smiled. Like any four-and-half-year-old, the pitch and tone were off, but the older bard didn't care.

Nora got comfortable, and soon the sing of her daughter had put her back to sleep. Skara saw this and kept singing in a softer tone. Soon, Skara's felt her eye grow heavy and fell asleep shortly afterward.

(90 minutes later)

Skara stared at her breakfast, and Nora stared at her daughter, trying to keep from giggling at the sight. She had heard the rumors about the "knocked-down" Coven's infamous eating ritual, and she wanted to see if it was as cute as it said.

"Go ahead, dear," Nora encouraged gently.

Skara looked at her mother for a minute and then back at her meal. She stared at breakfast for about a minute and then took a deep breath. She dove facefirst into her meal.

Nora gawked at the sight for a second and then giggled. Skara's notmeal was getting on her face, but the bard could care less. The scene was just as cute as she thought it would be.

Thankfully, Nora thought ahead and brought her camera to the kitchen. "Sweetie, can you look at mom-me?" She asked sweetly.

Skara stopped eating and looked at her mother was a curious but cute expression. Nora gushed at the sight as she took a picture. Skara was confused by what her mommy was doing and tilted her head slightly.

Nora giggled at this and was about to take another picture. She suddenly started to cough, and Skara quickly got worried.

"Mom-me!" the "knocked-down" bard nearly screamed.

Nora tried to smile while coughing, taking a vial from her robe. She opened it and downed the contents. She sighed when she felt the potion take effect, and her coughing subsided.

"Mom-me?" she heard the concerned voice of her daughter asked again.

Nora looked at her daughter and said, "I'm fine."

Skara continued to look at her mother in concern. Nora sighed under their breath and looked at her breakfast. She looked back at her daughter with a smile.

"How about you finish your breakfast, my Little Song" Nora suggested, "I have a surprise for you afterward."

Skara continued to stare at her mom for another minute before she grabbed her napkin and cleaned her face. Nora could only watch as her daughter began to eat normally and hoped her surprise would brighten the mood.

Turns out, Nora's surprise was what was needed to lift her daughter's spirits; Skara's eyes sparkled as she looked at the outfits in her mother's hand.

"So, my Little Song?" Nora asked mirthfully, "Which one would you like to wear this weekend?"

Skara tipped her chin, which her mother found cute beyond words, and looked between the outfits. It took nearly five minutes before Skara decided and pointed to her mother's right hand.

Nora smiled as she put the other set of clothing on her daughter's bed and then helped Skara get dressed.

"Oh wow," Nora gushed, "I have forgotten how cute you were, Little Song."

Skara blushed as she grabbed the skirt of her outfit and twirled.

Skara was now wearing a pair of navy leggings, black flats, and a sleeveless top with a short skirt. The top was red and had an X pattern over the chest.

Finally, Skara had a necklace with a note shape ornament on it. Nora had put her daughter's hair in its usual hairstyle, and because it was longer, her ponytail reached down to her back.

Skara stopped her twirling and suddenly ran up and hugged her mother. Nora couldn't help but giggle as she returned the hug.

"Now, Little Song," Nora said gently, "How about we go out and enjoy this day?"

With a big smile, Skara nodded, and this caused Nora to giggle again. She picked up the "knocked-down" bard-in-training, and together, they headed out for the day.

I know this is on me, but I still can't believe I waited so long to give Skara her "knocked-down" appearance. Oh well, no use in crying over spilled smilk, right?
