Heather Mason was working in her father's store when it happened. She immediately recognized Camila Noceda when she entered the store with a witch she had never seen before.

Heather thought little of this and was about to get back to her work when she got a good look at the witch. Heather couldn't help but stare at the pink-haired witch with three eyes. The human girl was fixated as she watched the witch. She walked with a sense of grace and fluid movement. From that alone, Heather could tell that the witch girl was an athlete.

Heather panicked slightly when the two got closer and didn't want to come off as a creeper. So she hastily went back to her task, but she couldn't but overhear some of what the witch and human were talking about.

"Uhhgg," the witchling moaned, "Why am I here again? I got plenty of clothes back home."

"Because, Corazon," Camila replied, grabbing some tops. "Weather in the human realm, while not deadly, can still be a problem. Besides, it's always a good idea to open your mind to new things."

Heather giggled under her breath as the witch rolled all three of her eyes as the human found it cute.

Heather blushed slightly at that thought and quickly looked away from the human/witch duo.

For the next few minutes, Heather would steal glances at the witch, which she learned her name was Boscha, and noticed a few more details about the witch. She was right that the witchling was an athlete when Boscha stepped out of a dressing room wearing a jersey.

Heather couldn't help but stare at the slightly toned body the witch was sporting as she walked by her. Because she wasn't looking where she was going, and she ran into a display rack.

Thankfully, the rack was nearly empty because of restocking, so she didn't make a mess. But that didn't matter; she ran gut-first into the plastic frame just the right that the air was knocked from her lungs.

The cheerleader stumbled backward, groaning and holding her stomach as she fell to he knees.

Heather's head was swimming as she tried to get air back into her lungs. She was aware that people were around her, saying something to her. Her head started to clear, and when her vision returned, she saw that the witch, Camila, and her father were looking at her with concern.

"Are you okay, dear?" Carol Mason asked.

Heather nodded as her father helped her to her feet. The cheerleader grunted as she held her stomach, still sore from the impact, and heard Boscha say something offhandedly.

"I guess unconditional must be a human trait."

Heather growled as she looked at the slightly condescending face of the witch. While she wasn't the snob most made her out to be, she wouldn't let that one slide.

"Hey," Heather retorted. "I'm one of the more conditioned people in this entire town!"

Boscha scoffed at this claim and crossed her arms as she rolled her eyes. Even if Heather found the witch cute when she rolled her eyes, she wasn't going to let someone challenging her to go without response; she crossed her arms and glared at the young witch.

The two might have fought if Carol and Camila didn't intervene.

"Now, now, you two," the store owner said gently, pushing himself between the two. "We don't need this to turn into a scratching match."

Heather and Boscha just continued to glare at each other, and Mason sighed.

"Young miss," the store owner said gently. "Trust me, you may be a witch, but no magic power can help win an argument with my daughter. Trust me, I've been losing them since Heather was six, when she didn't want to-"

"DAAADDD!" Heather screeched, facing flushing.

Boscha looked at the human, eyebrow cocked, and then grinned as she looked at the older human. She looked ready to press on the matter, but Camila decided to step in.

"Well, Carol, it was nice seeing you," the human mother said, gently grabbing Boscha's shoulder. "But we must get back to our shopping."

The store owner nodded, grabbed his daughter by the shoulder, and led her to another part of the store. Heather looked over her shoulder, glaring at the witch. Boscha returned the glare before she went with her guardian to another part of the store.

"Stupid witch," the human girl muttered with a faint blush on her cheeks.

And with this, we have our first encounter between Boscha and Heather. Don't worry, these two will cross paths later down this story, but for now, we're getting some long overdue Owl Familia's beast stories.
