Chapter 27: A Fun Day

The next morning comes at the hotel Rena and Sin are staying at following last night's activities, the couple sleeping peacefully. The faunus holds Sin close.
Before either of them knew it their eyes open slowly fending off the bright light of the morning sun. Turning his head away from the window Sin feels something firm and pleasant under his neck finding himself in-between Rena's breasts and with that sight the events of the previous night flood back to him. His cheeks flush red as Rena stirs.
The one-eyed faunus blinks a few times before rubbing the sleep out of her eye and spotting Sin. She pulls him in for a kiss, moaning at the sensation then breaks it, a smile etched on her face.
She greeted, "Morning, Sin."
He stuttered, "M, morning." Now that the passion of their night has worn off, he was back to being nervous and shy.
Rena said, "You were amazing last night."
Sin replied, face red, "So were you. We should probably start making our way back."
Rena agreed, "We better shower first." She exited the bed to stretch showing her bare body to him, "You can join me in there, it'll save time and water. Your choice, Sin." She gives a wink and heads for the bathroom, intentionally leaving it unlocked.
Inside she removes her eye patch setting it on the counter and turns the handle of the shower letting the water reach the perfect temperature. Stepping inside Rena closes the door and stands under the shower head, letting the water drench her, staring at the shower wall in front of her. She runs a finger across her lips while the intimacy they indulged in last night replays in her mind, she can still feel how tingly her lips are. The way Sin's hands roamed and caressed her body, her absorbing the wonderful sensations. The way they teased each other. When the main event came they gave each other their first time starting off with Rena riding Sin moaning in pleasure, feeling Sin's gaze on her body while she moved. They switched positions over and over again to keep the bliss going until Rena rode Sin to orgasm. When the climax hit, it was the most intense feeling the faunus felt and knew Sin felt the same. After taking a few minutes to recuperate, they had another bout of passion and experiencing another orgasmic eruption. After that, they fell asleep exhausted but content.
'Why did I do that? I made love to a human but Sin isn't like the others. Besides flirting, he is kind, driven and brave. Was that my heart that led me into making love with Sin? Perhaps I should give him a chance. After having my emotions toyed with and trust broken, I deserve a chance at happiness. Right?' Rena thought.
Sin tries to resist the temptation but finds himself unable. He steps into the bathroom and joins Rena, slowly washing her back while massaging her shoulders.
Rena sighed in content, "That feels nice, Sin. You could be a massage therapist if you wanted."
Sin disagreed, "No, Brick and I got a lot of sore and stiff muscles after being in so many fights. You learn through trial and error." Noticing her eye patch missing Sin turns her around gazing at her missing eye, his hand cupping that side of her face and his thumb gently stroking the bone that circles the eye.
Rena said, "Yes, I got this during my battle with Adam Taurus after I left the White Fang. Sienna Khan didn't want to lose such a strong member, so she dispatched Adam to retrieve me. I didn't like where the organization was going so I left. We dueled and one miscalculation on my end allowed Adam to use his semblance Moon Slice to cut out my eye. The pain was excruciating but I fought through it and left him in worse shape. I fled to Vale City under the cover of a storm. My adopted human father found me outside his home. He nursed me back to health. I worked hard to overcome my reduced depth perception and field of vision by sharpening my other senses, hence why I wear that eye patch. It's frustrating at times, having one eye."
Sin told her, "It may be hard. But I think you're even more beautiful this way." Rena kisses him, not out of lust but of gratitude pulling him closer to her, letting their bodies touch. Her arms wrap around his neck while Sin's settle on her waist. Separating from the kiss Sin stares into Rena's eye before holding the faunus placing her head on his chest letting the faunus know she's safe. Rena brings her arms around his back her interest in the human growing ever stronger. The water from the shower mixes with a tear that runs down her cheek.
After a moment she broke the embrace the one-eyed faunus states they better finish up. Sin reluctantly agrees, although he wants to hold Rena longer. For reasons he doesn't know Sin feels happy when he has the faunus in his arms, it feels like their hearts and minds are interconnected when holding her. Following their night of passionate love making Sin begins to comprehend what she said about them being kindred spirits, having seen as much shit as she has. He finds himself growing more intrigued, finding himself wanting to be closer with her.
Rena reaches for the shampoo provided by the hotel staff, lathering up then washes her dark hair, her back to him. As she does, the faunus wonders why she told Sin about the reason she wears her eye patch, something she feels a little self-conscious about.
When they're finished, he wraps his arms around her, pulling her into another embrace, "I feel like I should say something, but I think I've already said everything there is to say."
Rena said, "I enjoyed our date and the activities afterward. Thank you for accepting me, Sin." She pulls him in for another kiss, savoring the sensation before resting their foreheads together.
Sin chuckled, "So who will you be cheering for more? Blake or me?"
Rena said, "Tough to call."
The young human asked, "So no hard feelings, right?"
Rena shook her head, "No."
Sin replied, "Good. Hopefully she won't be mad at me." Rena puts her eye patch on and the two get dressed before they head to the lobby, eating breakfast then return their room key to the receptionist. Stepping outside they see citizens starting their day.
The pair returns to Beacon and Sin stops to take in Rena's appearance again, "So... I guess this is where we go our separate ways."
Rena said, "Yeah, for now. Whoever wins the tournament our teams can have a group party."
Sin agreed, "Yeah. That would be fun. I'll see you later, Rena." With a quick peck to her lips, he begins leaving, Rena watching as he heads back to the dorms, that's when she sees her.
A woman wearing a uniform from Haven Academy, her bright amber eyes, one hidden behind her hair, Cinder Fall.
The woman approaches Sin and calls out to him and with her superior vision Rena could see the sincere joy that spread over Sin's expression when he saw her.
Rena watches them talk, too much noise to hear their words, but after a few exchanges both of them left together back to the bull head landing.
She narrows her eye in suspicion, wondering what Cinder could be planning. Should she follow them? Suddenly her scroll vibrates, making her fetch it seeing the caller ID as Yumi. Closing her eye in resignation, she answers the call.
Her teammate's voice called out, "Rena, are you back yet?"
Rena said, "Just returned." She started walking away from where she saw Sin, "I'm heading back to you." After a short walk, she meets up with the wolf faunus, who's standing outside the guest dorm entrance.
Yumi quickly hugged her, "You're back! Where did you go?" Her memory problems causing her to forget Rena's message from the previous night.
Rena said, "We went to eat lunch then go see a movie. A thunderstorm came through, so we had to stay at a hotel for the night. I texted you about it yesterday."
Yumi tilted her head, "You did? I'm sorry, I got restless without you here."
Rena said, "Did you enjoy your show while I was away?"
Yumi nods, "It was fun. It's having a rerun tonight. I feel we could watch it as a team."
Rena said as they headed for the team's guest dorm room, "Sure. What about Draco and Xavier? Did they do anything while I was gone?"
Yumi sheepishly blushed, "Uh, I don't know I um…I stayed in the room all day." After reaching the room and stepping inside, the faunus sees her armor, short-sleeved shirt, leggings and boots near the bed which meant Team RWBY must have stopped by to drop them off.
They see Draco and Xavier waiting with the dragon faunus having a smug look on his face.
He queried, "Did you enjoy your date with Sin yesterday?"
Rena nodded, "Yes."
The smugness grew on Draco's face, "And did you two do adult oriented stuff afterward?"
Yumi's cheeks lit up, "Adult stuff?"
Rena confirmed, "We did." Her admission earns her a side grin from her teammate.
He turned to Xavier, "Pay up, buddy." The ox faunus mumbles as he hands Draco a 100-lien bill.
She asked, "What's that about?"
Draco said, "After Yumi texted us about what happened following the movie and the storm, I made a bet with Xavier on whether you'd get some action in bed. He offered one hundred lien, and I accepted the bet. Now since you got laid, I won the bet. How was your first time, boss?"
Rena replied almost bluntly, "It was quite the experience." The side grin Draco has turns into a full-on grin showing his teeth.
Yumi's mind runs in several directions, not knowing which one to believe. One is happy that her team leader enjoyed her date with Sin but the other is struggling to process not only what Draco said but also how Rena answered it with no hesitation. The mental image of Sin and Rena being so intimate makes her cheeks turn red. The images become too great for her to handle, and her mind shuts down, staring off into space with comically stunned eyes.
Xavier waved his hand in front of Yumi's face, "Hello? Anybody home? I think you broke her, Draco." The dragon faunus muffles a laugh that escapes him.
He calmed down afterward, "It wasn't my intention to do so." Xavier gently shakes Yumi. That snaps her out of it.
Xavier asked, "That being said, what shall we do today?"
Draco said, "Since there's no been announcement of when the computer system in the Amity Colosseum will be fixed, I say we go the festival grounds since they're still open."
Yumi agreed, "It should be fun." Rena grabs her leggings, short-sleeved shirt, boots, armor and claymore and enters the bathroom, closing and locking the door so she can change into them in private. Now in her armor again, Rena returns to her stoic self. She exits the bathroom and the team ventures to the festival grounds, meeting up with Rena's adopted father halfway there. Yumi is able to convince him to come along, which he decides to.
Walking through the stands the group wonders which one to visit first. Seeing a shooting stand they decide to head there, the person in charge is a young human male.
He greeted, "Welcome. Care to win this shooting challenge? If you win, you get a Grimm plushie of your choosing. I have a Beowolf, Nevermore, an Ursa or Minotaur. So, who among you wants to try?"
Draco stepped forward, "I'll go first." Handing the man a 20 lien, the human gives Draco a shotgun that fires metallic balls designed to knock down the targets.
Placing the money in the cash register, the young human pushes the button bringing the targets up. Draco takes aim and notices the targets alternating between up and down.
'Gotta time my shots, then.' He thought.
Taking a deep breath, he exhales and fires. The targets are knocked one by one in rapid succession.
The stand owner is shocked that Draco takes down each one and picks his prize, which is the Beowolf plushie and gives it to Yumi. The wolf faunus accepts it loving the cute design and finds out it has a honking nose. The group finds it funny.
The young human asks if the others would like a shot, but they decline. The stander nods in understanding and wishes them a good day. Moving around the stands the gang discovers a fruit slicing game where the player swipes their hand over the screen, slicing fruit and racking up points. Seeing this right up Rena's and Yumi's alley, the two walk over after Yumi hands her new plushie to Draco. Paying the owner of the stand the female faunus duo watches the timer count down then the game begins.
Sweeping their hands over the screen the duo starts their game, drawing a crowd as it turns into a competition over who can rack up the most points within the time frame. Soon Rena's and Yumi's hand are swiping as fast as possible, eviscerating the fruit while dodging bombs. They both see 10 seconds remaining on the clock and finish strong, securing a high score.
Draco, Xavier and Smith give their shot at the game, racking up impressive scores of their own.
Continuing onward, the group sees what else they can do.
Stopping by a food stand, they see an eating challenge where the challenger would eat the hottest meat sandwich doused with a homemade sauce made of the hottest peppers on Remnant. The creator calls it the Inferno Sandwich Challenge. If the challenger succeeds, he or she wins a t-shirt and spot on the Wall of Fame. However, should that person lose, they must pay for the meal. The challenger has half an hour to eat the Inferno Sandwich. They'll have a glass of milk next to them.
Feeling up to it, Xavier walks over stating he'll do the challenge. The cashier tells the chef to cook up the Inferno Sandwich. 5 minutes later, the said sandwich lies on a plate in front of Xavier.
Calming his nerves, the ox faunus waits until the stand owner starts the clock then starts eating the sandwich. Almost immediately his mouth feels like it's on fire as the spicy sauce hits his tongue. Xavier decides to eat fast so as not to give the spicy sauce a chance to wreak havoc on his insides. The strategy works, pushing him past the searing pain. Taking the last bite, he beats the challenge and downs the milk to douse the flames. His teammates applaud and as promised, Xavier wins a t-shirt and spot on the Wall of Fame.
The chef said, "Congratulations, sir, you are the fifth to attempt this food challenge and succeed." Smith tries a game of throwing darts, popping half of the 10 balloons.
The group eat lunch and look to what else catches their interest before departing.
A bit later on, Rena goes out shopping for gifts to give to her teammates and adopted father. She knows the walls around her heart are cracking and perhaps it's time to open up. To start trusting again. These people she's come to known are nothing like those in the past who only exploited her trust and emotions. The Belladonnas consider her a daughter to them and big sister to Blake. Her teammates have been loyal and supportive to her. Especially after Rena told them of her past. Her adoptive father is the first human to show affection and adopted her. Team TEAL and RUST are still a work in progress.
A voice said, "Don't kid yourself. The boy Sin Saber will betray you and you'll have no one to blame but yourself. It's best you keep those fools at arms-length. What's more is you'll outlive them, leaving you alone once again." It makes Rena stop and look around in alarm trying to locate where the voice came from but no one's there.
'Must have been my imagination.' She thought.
Stopping by a clothing store that sells high-quality clothes the one-eyed faunus enters the store.
An employee walked over, "Hi there, my name's John Talis. Welcome to Judy's Fashion, home of the finest clothing Vale has to offer. How can I help today?"
Rena said, "Yes. I'm looking for a fancy jacket. It's a present for my teammate Draco Lance."
After she gave the measurements, John nodded, "We have a good selection of jackets at the back wall. Follow me." The one-eyed faunus follows the young human to the back wall where she sees a variety until she spots a black jacket with silver dragon scales running down the central part of the sleeves and back. Pulling it off the rack for a better look, Rena moves the jacket about studying the attire from different angles. Feeling Draco will love it, Rena tells John she'll take it. Nodding, John asks if there's anything else she needs help with. Rena looks for what she can get her two other teammates. She settles with black colored weather boots that are tough enough to handle any type of terrain and warm jacket when they travel to cold climates. Happy with her selection Rena heads over to the cash register, the cashier rings up the toll and Rena pays it. The cashier puts the purchased items into two separate bags, Rena heads for a jewelry store, sorting through the varies items until she settles on a bracelet with red, white and yellow gems. She next picks a necklace with an orange gem. The items purchased the one-eyed faunus exits the jewelry store.
Rena meets up with her teammates and adopted father at Smith's forge, seeing them talking and drinking water while Smith has an alcoholic beverage.
Draco saw his leader, "Where'd you go?"
Rena said, "Out shopping. Bought you four gifts." She hands Draco his new jacket.
Draco looked at Rena, "For me?"
Rena nodded, "Mm. I felt you'd like it." Draco takes his current jacket off and tries the new one.
Draco smiled, "Looks awesome and comfy, too. Thank you, Rena."
The one-eyed faunus turned to the ox faunus, "I got you a new pair of boots that can handle any type of terrain and a warm jacket, Xavier." He tries one boot and walks around before placing his current boot on and tries the new jacket.
Xavier said, "I love them. Thanks." Rena sees Yumi struggling to contain her excitement as she wonders what gift Rena has for her.
The one-eyed faunus hands Yumi a small box, the moment she opens it her eyes bulge to comical proportions accompanied by a loud gasp.
Yumi asked, "For me?" She saw Rena nod and stars appeared in her eyes, "Thank you so much!" After putting the bracelet on Yumi hugs Rena tight, the older faunus pats her head. After Yumi releases the hug Rena gives her adopted father a necklace earning a thanks and hug from Smith.
Draco asked, "What made you do this?"
Rena explained, "It's to show my appreciation of having you in my life."
Yumi said, "We have a present for you, too." Reaching into her pocket and pulls out a small black ring case, placing it in Rena's hand.
The one-eyed faunus opens it pulling whatever is inside out. Turns out to be an earring with a red gem in the shape of a diamond.
She looked at her teammates, "For me?"
Yumi nodded, "Yep, it's a present from me, Draco and Xavier."
Rena gazed at the earring, "Thank you." She puts it on her left ear, the gem reflecting the sunlight poking through the window.
Smith said, "I have something for you as well, Rena." The young man walks over to the forging table where a sheathed blade lies.
The blade is a wakizashi around 23" long, silver in color, small turquoise orb embedded the top of the blade where it met the hilt, the hilt itself is a charcoal gray with blade guards and wrapped in black silk. Next to the blade is a belt with a scabbard to hold the blade. After removing her breastplate upon Smith's request, the human creates and welds belt loops onto the armor. After letting the welded metal cool, Smith hands the breastplate back to his daughter who puts it back on and slides the belt/scabbard through the loops and secures the lock, tightening it so that it rests against her left hip.
She sees the various reactions from her team.
Draco gives two thumbs-up, Yumi shows her a smile that warms Rena's heart, Xavier does a theatrical bow to her, and her adopted father nods his approval.
Xavier said, "Hey, Smith can I draw you and Rena?"
Smith nodded, "Sure." Stepping outside the backyard of Smith's home, Xavier asks them to stand next to each other. Smith wraps an arm around his daughter's shoulder and Rena locks her hands together in front of her making her look like a graceful queen. A small smile appears on her face. The setting sun provides the perfect background.
Xavier begins to draw occasionally sneaking glances at the duo to make sure he's doing it right. The drawing takes only 10 minutes thanks to the ox faunus' skills, he next applies shading and color.
He said to them, "Okay, all done." He turns his sketchbook around presenting his drawing.
Smith studied it before whistling, "That's impressive. You can do a career as an artist."
Xavier said, "Meh, it's more of a hobby. Mind if I take a picture and send it to you?"
Smith replied, "Go ahead." Xavier pulls out his scroll, pointing the lens at the duo and takes the picture sending it to Smith.
The young man joins the mercenary team for a night-out eating at a restaurant before returning to his home while Team RXDY heads for the guest dorm. That night, the team watches the rerun of Crowned by the Winter Chalice.
A/N: Chapter 27 done.
Not much action here, just a light heart chapter.
