Amity's intro
Water. Earth. Fire. Air.
Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed her most, she vanished. A hundred years passed, and me, Willow
and Gus discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Luz. And although her airbending skills are great, she has a lot to learn before she's ready to save anyone.
But I believe Luz can save the world
Ostrich horses are drinking water from a river as Appa, Luz, Gus, Willow and Camila fly over them.
"So, what kind of trouble are they in?" Gus asked
"I don't know. In my vision, I just knew they needed help." Luz said
"It would be nice if your Avatar powers could be just a little more specific from time to time." (She looks down and notices a mound of earth passing nearby, heading to the wall.) "What is that?" Willow asked
They fly down and follow the mound. Boscha is seen still earth surfing. Luz, Gus, Willow and Camila come down beside her.
"Need a ride?" Willow asked
Boscha becomes startled at the sound of Willow's voice and falls backward off of the mound. Luz, Gus, Willow and Camila cringe upon seeing her fall. Scene changes to Kikimora speaking to the Dai Li.
(While pacing back and forth.) "The Earth King and the Council of Five do not trust the Dai Li. They imprisoned your leader, Long Feng. Soon they will turn on all of you and eliminate you. Seizing power today is a matter of life and death." (As she talks, an agent with a mustache starts looking nervous and slightly lowers his head.) "This coup must be swift and decisive. The Earth King and each of the five generals must be taken out simultaneously. Long Feng has placed you in my command while we overthrow the government." (Walks over to her left, to another agent with a tiny, vertical scar on his right cheek. When she nears him, she stares sideways at the agent while still
addressing all the agents.) "If I sense any disloyalty, any hesitation, any weakness at all," (She stops right in front of the scarred agent.) "I will snuff it out." (She continues walking, with the eyes of the now nervous scarred agent following her.) "That is all." Kikimora said
The Dai Li leave, and Kikimora walks up to Ky Mee, who is pouring tea.
"Nice speech, Kikimora. It was pretty and poetic, but also scary in a good way." Ky Mee said (She hands the cup to Kikimora. Camera pans over to a close-up of Lai.)
(Amused.) "Yeah. I thought you were going to make that one guy wet his pants." Lai said
"There are still a few loose ends. The Avatar, and the ex-commander and her lieutenant." Kikimora said
Scene fades to outside the Royal Palace, where Lilith and Kaldo begin walking toward it.
"Many times I imagined myself here, at the threshold of the palace." (Camera pans to show the Earth Kingdom Emblem above the palace doors.) "But I always thought I would be here as a conqueror. Instead, we are the Earth King's personal guests, here to serve him tea. Destiny is a funny thing." Kaldo said
"It sure is, Kaldo." Lilith said
Scene changes back to Appa, Luz, Gus, Willow, Camila and Boscha still flying back to the Palace. Boscha is seen holding onto Willow's arm so she does not fall.
"So how did it go with the guru? Did you master the Avatar State?" Boscha asked
"Uh …" Luz started
Luz looks down and thinks back to what Guru Pathik said before she left.
"If you leave now, you won't be able to go into the Avatar State at all!" Pathik said
Fades back to the present.
"Luz, are you okay?" Gus asked
"I'm great! It went great with the guru. I completely mastered the Avatar State." (She laughs nervously and looks down.) "Yeah." Luz said
Scene changes back to the Royal Palace, where Lilith and Kaldo are sitting at a table in a room, waiting for the Earth King. Kaldo pours some tea into a cup.
"What's taking so long?" Lilith asked
"Maybe the Earth King overslept." Kaldo said
Dai Li agents begin to circle around the two.
"Something's not right." Lilith said
Kikimora walks past the Dai Li and comes in front of Lilith outside the circle of Dai Li agents.
"It's tea time!" Kikimora said
(She quickly stands up.) "Kikimora!" Lilith said
"Have you met the Dai Li? They're earthbenders, but they have a killer instinct that's so firebender. I just love it." Kikimora said
Camera pans over to show Kaldo picking up his cup of tea.
"Did I ever tell you how I got the nickname 'The Dragon of the West'?" Kaldo asked
"I'm not interested in a lengthy anecdote, Uncle." Kikimora (She looks at her nails condescendingly.)
"It's more of a demonstration, really." Kaldo said
Kaldo begins drinking his tea. Lilith looks over at him and smiles before going behind him. Kaldo begins breathing fire. Cut to a corridor outside the room as a fire blast makes a hole in the wall, allowing Kaldo and Lilith to escape. The Dai Li agents begin shooting some rock gloves at them, but miss as Lilith and Kaldo turn around the corner. Kaldo generates lightning and destroys the wall in front before jumping down, yelling, into a bush below. Lilith stops at the edge.
"Come on! You'll be fine!" Kaldo said
"No! I'm tired of running! It's time I faced Kikimora!" Lilith said
Lilith turns around and walks back. Kaldo smacks his head upon hearing this and runs away.
"You're so dramatic, What? Are you going to challenge me to an Agni Kai?" Kikimora asked
"Yes! I challenge you!" Lilith said
"No thanks." Kikimora said
Lilith shoots a fire blast toward her, but two Dai Li agents intervene and pull up a section of the floor, making a wall. They shoot some rock gloves at Lilith's feet, making her lose her balance. She puts her right hand down, but another rock glove traps that one. Kikimora turns around smiling and walks away as the agents capture her. Scene changes to inside the throne room, where Luz, Gus, Willow, Camila and Boscha confront the Earth King.
"Amity and Eda are fine. You have nothing to worry about." the Earth King said
"But, in my vision, I felt so sure she was in trouble." Luz said
"Well, she met with the Council of Generals to plan the invasion, and since then, she has been off with your friends, the Kyoshi Warriors." the Earth King said
"See, Luz? She's with Zora. They're probably back at our apartment right now talking about make-up or something." Gus said
"Okay. Maybe you're right." Luz said
"Believe me, if there was any danger at all, Bosco's animal instincts would sense it." the Earth King said
Bosco lifts up his head from sleeping to look at the five. Scene changes to inside the Crystal Catacombs, where Amity is pacing back and forth. She stops pacing upon hearing a hole open up above.
"You've got company." a Dai Li agent said
He throws Lilith in, who rolls down and lands in front of Amity.
"Lilith!" Amity said
Amity's shocked face becomes an angry one as Lilith sits up, looking back at her with surprise, and the hole closes behind her. The scene changes to Luz, Gus, Willow, Camila and Boscha reaching their house on Appa. The five jump off and run inside to see if Amity and Eda were in there. King runs up to them.
"King!" Luz said
King climbs up Luz and onto her shoulders. Boscha looks around.
"There's no one else here." Boscha said
"Amity and Eda are in trouble! You were right, Luz!" Camila said
"Oh, no!" Willow said
"Where could they be?" Gus asked
"Wait! Someone's at the door." (Someone knocks on the door a second later.) "Actually, I know who it is. It's an old friend of mine." (She walks over to the door and opens it, showing Kaldo behind the door.) "Glad to see you're okay." Boscha said
"I need your help." Kaldo said
Luz, Gus, Willow and Camila become shocked and angry upon seeing him, and get into a fighting stance. Boscha calmly smiles and waves at him. King flies away upon seeing him.
"You guys know each other?" Luz asked
"I met him in the woods once and knocked him down." (Kaldo smiles sheepishly and rubs the back of his head.) "Then he gave me some tea and some very good advice." Boscha said
"May I come in?" (Boscha nods, and he walks in before turning to the group.) "Admiral Kikimora is here in Ba Sing Se." Kaldo said
"She must have Amity and Eda." Luz said
"She has captured my commander as well." Kaldo said
"Then we'll work together to fight Kikimora, and save Amity, Eda and Lilith." Gus said
(Approaching Gus and pointing at him.) "Whoa there! You lost me at 'Zuko'." Willow said
"I know how you must feel about my commander." (Moving forward to place his hands on Willow's shoulders.) "But believe me when I tell you that there is good inside her." Kaldo said
(Pushing Kaldo away.) "'Good inside her' isn't enough! Why don't you come back when it's outside her too, okay?" Willow asked
"Amity and Eda in trouble. All of Ba Sing Se is in trouble. Working together is our best chance." Luz said
"It's the only choice we have anyway." Camila said
Willow understands, and nods. Kaldo begins walking back to the door.
"I brought someone along who might help us." Kaldo said
They all walk outside. Boscha puts a couple earth pillars around the nervous Dai Li agent and makes him stand up. Kaldo walks over to him and takes the gag off his mouth, revealing this to be the scarred agent.
"Kikimora and Long Feng are plotting a coup! They're going to overthrow the Earth King!" the captured agent said
"Our friends! Where are they keeping Amity and Eda?" Willow asked
"In the Crystal Catacombs of Old Ba Sing Se, deep beneath the palace." the captured agent said
Luz, Gus, Willow, Camila, Boscha and Kaldo run away to help Amity, Eda and the Earth King, leaving the captured agent bound. Scene fades to the jail where Long Feng is. He meditates in his cell while a Dai Li agent informs him of what is going on.
"The movements of the Earth King and all the generals have been plotted out step-by-step." the Head of the Dai Li said
"Good. And the Fire Nation admiral is cooperating?" Long Feng asked
"Oh, yes. More than cooperating. She's really taken charge. She's terrifying and inspirational at the same time. It's hard to explain." the Head of the Dai Li said
The Dai Li agent walks away. Scene changes to inside the Crystal Catacombs, where Amity is yelling at Lilith, who sits with her back turned while Eda is standing away from what's happening.
"Why did they throw you in here?" (Lilith says nothing.) "Oh, wait, let me guess. It's a trap. So that when Luz shows up to help me, you can finally have her in your little Fire Nation clutches!" Amity said
Lilith turns her head to look at her, turns back, and looks at the ground again.
(Continuing to lament.) "You're a terrible person! You know that? Always following us! Hunting the Avatar! Trying to capture the world's last hope for peace! But what do you care? You're one of the Fire Lord's commanders. Spreading war and violence and hatred is in your blood!" Amity said
(Looks back at her.) "You don't know what you're talking about!" Lilith said
(Enraged.) "I don't? How dare you! You have no idea what this war has put me through!" (Sits down.) "Me personally!" (She sits down and touches a bangle on her wrist, begins to cry.) "The Fire Nation took Gus' mother from him, they took Willow home away, and I left because they took my family away from me." Amity said
(She turns around to face Amity.) "I'm sorry." (Pauses. Amity is now sobbing.) "That's something we have in common." Lilith said
"What?" Eda asked
Amity looks back, surprised, and wipes away the tears from her eyes. The scene changes to Boscha feeling the ground below, finding the Crystal Catacombs.
"Well, what'd you know? There is an ancient city down there. But it's deep." Boscha said
She makes a tunnel through the ground, beginning to lead to the catacombs. Willow is seen thinking of a plan.
"We should split up. Luz, you and Gus go with Kaldo to look for Amity, Eda and the angry jerk," (Remembers Kaldo is there and places her left hand on Kaldo's right shoulder.) "no offense." Willow said
(Shrugging.) "None taken." Kaldo said
"And me and your mom will go with Boscha to warn the Earth King of Kikimora's coup." Willow said
Luz, Gus and Kaldo are seen walking through the tunnel down to the Catacombs. Kaldo is bending a small fire for light, and Luz is earthbending the way down.
"So, Boscha thinks you give pretty good advice, and great tea!" Gus said
"The key to both is proper aging. What's on your mind? Or should I say, Luz's mind?" Kaldo asked
Luz earthbends again before replying.
"Well, I met with this guru who was supposed to help me master the Avatar State and control this great power, but to do it, I had to let go of someone I love." (She, Gus and Kaldo stop.) "And I just couldn't." Luz said
"Perfection and power are overrated. I think you were very wise to choose happiness and love." Kaldo said
(Earthbends again.) "What happens if we can't save anyone and beat Kikimora? Without the Avatar State, what if I'm not powerful enough?" Luz asked
"I don't know the answer. Sometimes, life is like this dark tunnel. You can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you just keep moving," (Luz earthbends the rocks
away one last time. Kaldo's fire blows out. He smiles.) "you will come to a better place." Kaldo said
"I hope it's a good one." Gus said
Camera pans over a large area of the Catacombs. Scene changes to Willow, Camila and Boscha climbing the stairs, with King flying behind them.
"There's General How!" Camila said
Willow puts her arms out in front of Camila and Boscha and pulls them behind a pillar. General How continues walking toward the stairs. The Dai Li agents can be seen hiding beside the pillars before putting cuffs on his wrists and pulling him down to his knees. Another agent drops in front of How.
"What's going on here?!" General How asked
"You're under house arrest." the Dai Li agent said
"The coup is happening right now! We've gotta warn the Earth King!" Willow said
Willow, Camila, Boscha and King run to head to the Earth King. One of the generals is seen walking when some chains fly up and trap him. General Sung is taken by some chains into a dark area. Two other generals are seen in their headquarters when the Dai Li toss some chains to circle around their legs and pull them up. Scene changes to the throne room, where Willow, Camila, Boscha and King have just reached the Earth King.
"Thank goodness we're just in time!" Willow said
"In time for what?" the Earth King asked
"Yeah. What are you in time for," (Cartwheels to Willow, standing just inches from her face.) "cutie?" Ky Mee asked
(She begins to sweat and places her hand behind her head in discomfort. Nervously.) "Uh, I'm not sure your a gargoyle." Willow said
"A what?" Ky Mee asked
Boscha knocks her away from Willow with earthbending, in which she flips up above them.
"They're not the real Kyoshi Warriors!" Boscha said
The Earth King gasps, surprised.
(Sarcastically.) "Sorry to disappoint you." Lai said
She shoots some of her daggers at Boscha, who uses an earth shield to stop them, and kicks the shield to Lai, who jumps over it. However, just as Lai lands, Boscha brings up another pillar, knocking Lai over. Boscha smiles confidently. Ky Mee comes up in front of Willow, laughing. She starts trying to jab her, but she evades all of them.
"Oooh, it's like we're dancing together!" Ky Mee said
Ky Mee was about to jab Willow again only to cartwheel away from Camila who tried to grab her, Ky Mee then jumped high and was about to jab Camila, but when she landed on her left foot, Camila jabbed Ky Mee in the knee causing her to lose balance and stumbled onto the ground screaming which surprised Willow.
"You weren't the first to learn chi block techniques." Camila said
Kikimora is seen holding the Earth King at flame-point.
(Gravely.) "This fight is over." Kikimora said
Willow, Camila and Boscha surrender, and Ky Mee chi-blocks them. King tries flying away, but a Dai Li agent traps him with a rock glove. Kikimora shoves the Earth King down the steps leading to his throne.
"Get them all out of my sight." Kikimora said
Willow, Camila, Boscha, King, the Earth King and Bosco are all taken to prison. Long Feng walks into the room, looking grim, with some Dai Li agents behind him.
"Now comes the part where I double cross you. Dai Li, arrest the Fire Nation admiral!" (None of the Dai Li agents move, to Long Feng's disappointment.) "I said arrest her!" (Short pause. They still do nothing.) "What is wrong with you?!" Long Feng asked
"It's because they haven't made up their minds." (Long Feng snaps his head toward Kikimora.) "They're waiting to see how this is going to end." Kikimora said
"What are you talking about?" Long Feng asked
"I can see your whole history in your eyes. You were born with nothing, so you've had to struggle, and connive, and claw your way to power. But true power, the divine right to rule, is something you're born with. The fact is, they don't know which one of us is going to be sitting on that throne, and which one is going to be bowing down." (Long Feng looks worried.) "But I know, and you know." (She sits down on the throne and crosses her legs.) "Well?" Kikimora asked
(His worried look turns into fright, then into a look of submission. He walks up and bows to her.) "You've beaten me at my own game." Long Feng said
"Don't flatter yourself! You were never even a player." Kikimora said
The scene changes to Amity, Eda and Lilith in the Crystal Catacombs.
(Apologetic.) "I'm sorry I yelled at you before." Amity said
"It doesn't matter." Lilith said
"It's just that for so long now, whenever I would imagine the face of the enemy, it was your face." Amity said
"My face? I see." Lilith said (She touches her scar.)
"No, no, that's-that's not what I mean." Amity said (Approaches Lilith.)
"It's okay. I used to think this scar marked me. The mark of the banished commander, cursed to chase the Avatar forever. But lately, I've realized I'm free to determine my own destiny, even if I'll never be free of my mark." Lilith said
"Maybe you could be free of it." Eda said
"What?" Lilith asked
"Me and Gus have healing abilities." Eda said
"It's a scar, it can't be healed." Lilith said
(Holds up a vial.) "This is water from the Spirit Oasis at the North Pole. It has special properties, Gus told me to keep it safe for something important." (Moves in front of Lilith.) "I don't know if it would work, but …" Amity said
Amity puts one hand on Lilith's scar. Lilith closes her eyes, only to be interrupted by Luz, Gus and Kaldo.
"Luz!" Amity said
Luz looks surprised at seeing Lilith next to Amity. As Amity and Eda hug her and Gus, she briefly smiles at her, then looks over Amity's shoulder to glare at Lilith. Cut to Lilith, who gets a hug from Kaldo, and glares back.
"Luz, I knew you would come." Amity said (She hugs Luz again.)
"Kaldo, I don't understand. What are you doing with the Avatar?" Lilith asked (Points to Luz.)
"Saving you, that's what." Luz said
Lilith growls and takes one confrontational step in Luz's direction, but Kaldo stops her.
"Lilith, it's time we talked." (To Luz, Amity, Gus and Eda.) "Go help your other friends. We'll catch up with you." Kaldo said (They walk away, Amity looks back at Lilith, who is looking sadly to the side, before moving on.)
(Hurt.) "Why, Kaldo?" Lilith asked
"You're not the person you used to be, Lilith." (Smiles.) "You are stronger and wiser and freer than you have ever been. And now you have come to the crossroads of your destiny." (Close-up to Lilith's face.) "It's time for you to choose. It's time for you to choose good." Kaldo said
As Lilith contemplates what her lieutenant is telling her, she yells as crystals grow to encase Kaldo. She assumes a fighting position to prepare for the intruders. A different shot shows Kikimora along with two Dai Li agents sliding down from the sides of the chamber.
"I expected this kind of treachery from Kaldo." (Cut to Kaldo, still trapped in crystals. Cut to a side shot, where Lilith protects her lieutenant.) "But Lilith, Commander Lilith, you're a lot of things, but you're not a traitor, are you?" Kikimora asked
"Release him immediately." Lilith said
"It's not too late for you, Lilith. You can still redeem yourself." Kikimora said
(To Lilith.) "The kind of redemption she offers is not for you." Kaldo said
"Why don't you let her decide, lieutenant?" (To Lilith.) "I need you, Lilith. I've plotted every move of this day," (Makes a fist.) "this glorious day in Fire Nation history, and the only way we win is together. At the end of this day, you will have your honor back. You will have the Emperor's loyalty. You will have everything you want." Kikimora said
"Lilith, I am begging you." (Close-up of Lilith's face as she focuses from Kikimora back to Kaldo.) "Look into your heart and see what it is that you truly want." Kaldo said (Lilith resumes contemplating.)
"You are free to choose." Kikimora said
She gestures at the two Dai Li agents to leave, who earthbend themselves out. Kikimora leaves to follow Luz, Amity, Gus and Eda. The camera cuts to Lilith multiple times as she contemplates her choice. She drops her head. Cut to Luz, Amity, Gus and Eda running through the Crystal Catacombs.
"We've got to find your mom, Willow and Boscha." Amity said
An intense shot of blue fire attacks them from behind. Luz stops it using earthbending, but the impact forces her backward a few steps. The camera zooms back toward Kikimora, the source of the blast, with smoke trailing from her fingertips. Gus uses waterbending to stop another attack, then sends a wave crashing toward Kikimora, who vaporizes the water with firebending. The mist from the vaporized water allows Kikimora to jump onto a crystal and firebend two blasts of blue fire. Together, Luz, Gus and Eda use waterbending to stop the blasts. Kikimora finishes her jump by landing on a rock pillar. Luz uses earthbending on the pillar, and Kikimora gasps once she notices the pillar crumbling. She jumps off and lands between Luz, Amity, Gus and Eda. She points at two of them and switches between the four, preparing to attack or defend herself.
An orange fire blast lands in the middle of the standoff, and they look to see the source of the fire blast to be Lilith. Lilith looks from Kikimora to Luz, Amity, Gus and Eda, choosing who to attack. When she looks at Kikimora, she is glaring back at her. She then looks at Luz, who gasps once she realizes Lilith will attack her. Lilith firebends at her, and Luz uses airbending to jump away from the blast. Kikimora smiles at this and starts dueling with Amity, Gus and Eda, and Lilith furiously throws multiple fire blasts at Luz. The scene changes to Willow, Camila, Boscha, King and the Earth King in a prison cell. Willow looks out the door's barred window.
"See any Dai Li agents nearby?" Boscha asked
"Nope, all clear." Willow said
Boscha cracks her knuckles and places her hands against the cell door, preparing to metalbend it. Cut to outside the prison cell where the door crumples and gets thrown away from the doorway.
"Let's go." Camila said (Camila grabs the Earth King's hand and follows Willow and Boscha.)
(While being guided by Camila.) "I'm not leaving without Bosco!" the Earth King said
Cut back to Lilith and Luz fighting. Luz airbends the air currents around her to make a human-shaped gust of air at Lilith, knocking her down. Luz attacks Lilith with more airbending, but Lilith maneuvers around the attacks and gets back up on her feet. She fires more blasts at Luz who is clinging on to a rock pillar. Luz jumps onto a clump of crystals to avoid the attack. Furious, Lilith summons a greater blast of fire. Luz earthbends some crystals to protect her, but the crystals shatter, sending Luz flying to another clump of crystals. Lilith uses fire whips to attack Luz once again, but Luz jumps to another patch of crystals and Lilith keeps attacking.
Cut to Kikimora landing on a puddle of water running toward Amity, until Eda sends a sharp wave of water at Kikimora that very nearly hits her face, but cuts her hair instead, startling her. Cut back to Lilith, who is still using her fire whips to attack Luz, who is now jumping along the cave's ceiling. Luz kicks down a stalactite and follows it, using earthbending to increase its impact and sending Lilith flying, bouncing off the ground into a small wall of crystals. The scene focuses on Kikimora and Amity, Gus and Eda. Gus waterbends at Kikimora, knocking her down. Kikimora slowly gets back up into a fighting stance as Gus and Eda encase themselves in water. One water tentacle captures Kikimora's hand as she struggles to attack her, and another one captures her
foot after another failed attack. The two then lift Kikimora up, who yells in fear. Lilith frees the admiral using firebending to break the tentacles. Kikimora gets up and briefly smiles at Lilith in gratitude, then looks toward the crater Luz had created with the stalactite. Luz crawls out, exhausted. Kikimora runs toward Luz. Cut to Lilith and Amity, Gus and Eda fighting. Gus and Eda still have water whips on their hands and Lilith starts using her fire whips.
"I thought you had changed!" Amity said (She grunts.)
"I have changed." Lilith said
Lilith fires another blast. Cut to Kikimora and Luz standing opposite each other. A closer shot of Kikimora and Luz as they prepare to fight. Kikimora uses firebending to charge at Luz. Luz earthbends crystals around herself into a crystal encased armor and charges at Kikimora. Kikimora stops, and uses her firebending to break Luz's crystal armor and send her flying back into an old building. Cut to Lai, Ky Mee and Bosco in the Earth King's throne room.
(To Bosco.) "Come on, it's easy. You just walk on your front paws instead of your rear ones." (She demonstrates.) "Like this." Ky Mee said
Suddenly, the floor traps Ky Mee's hands, causing her to lose balance and then her feet when they touch the ground. Bosco starts clapping. The view changes to reveal Willow, Camila, Boscha, King and the Earth King.
(Sarcastically.) "That is a nice trick." Boscha said
Willow takes out her boomerang and Boscha earthbends a large block of the ground in preparation to fight against Lai. The camera zooms toward Lai.
(Uninterested, knowing she does not stand a chance.) "Just take the bear." Lai said
Cut to Bosco.
(Runs to Bosco.) "Bosco!" the Earth King said (Bosco growls happily.)
The scene changes back to Lilith and Kikimora both fighting Amity, Gus and Eda. Hopelessly outmatched, Amity, Gus and Eda get knocked down. Luz jumps from the old building and earth surfs toward Lilith and Kikimora to stop them from attacking Amity, Gus and Eda, with a fiercely determined look on her face. However, a Dai Li agent
appears and jumps in front of Luz's surf, sending her flying off. Luz yells as she falls. More Dai Li agents gather behind Lilith and Kikimora. Amity starts regaining her focus and Dai Li agents surround her, Gus and Eda. Amity firebends a wall of flames to defend herself with Gus and Eda. Luz stands up in a fighting stance, but her determined face quickly turns into one of despair.
"There's too many." (She looks at Amity.)
(From Luz's memory.) "The only way is to let her go." Pathik said
"I'm sorry, Amity." Luz said
Closing her eyes, she turns away from Kikimora and Lilith and earthbends a crystal shelter tent. Luz starts meditating. Inside Luz's mind, a giant version of herself in the Avatar State, the Avatar Spirit, holds an airbending sphere with a normal-sized version of herself in the Avatar State. Back in the crystal shelter, Luz enters the Avatar State and the crystal shelter starts glowing, alerting those outside. Inside the shelter, Luz opens her glowing eyes and breaks the crystal above her. The camera shows Amity, Gus and Eda looking up to Luz, now rising into the air, with hope. But before Luz can let Amity go and control the Avatar State, a bolt of lightning strikes her in the back. Cut to Kikimora's eyeball watching Luz getting struck, before it zooms out to show her smiling menacingly in a lightning summoning position with her fingers smoking. The Avatar Spirit lets go of Luz and falls out of the plane of existence. As Luz falls down, Amity was shocked from what happened, tears now falling down her face, as Gus and Eda create a wave to catch Luz. The wave knocks down the Dai Li agents and Lilith. She looks down at Luz's lifeless body and back up with tears in her eyes. Lilith and Kikimora prepare to attack Amity as Gus and Eda bend the water to defend, but a blast of fire stops them. Kaldo, the source of the blast, jumps down from the wall of the cave and shields Luz, Amity, Gus and Eda from Lilith and Kikimora.
"You've got to get out of here! I'll hold them off as long as I can!" Kaldo said (Fires some blasts at Lilith and Kikimora.)
Amity walks away slowly with Luz's body to a waterfall, and Eda uses waterbending to lift herself, Amity, Gus and Luz's body up its path. Kaldo holds off the Dai Li agents, taking blows of earthbending, until after Luz, Amity, Gus and Eda leave. He submits to the Dai Li, who use earthbending to encase him in crystals. Kikimora is triumphantly smirking next to Lilith, both looking at Kaldo. Kaldo is looking back at Lilith, then closes his eyes and turns away. Cut to Luz, Amity, Gus, Willow, Eda, Camila, Boscha, King, the Earth King and Bosco riding on Appa. Appa moans sadly. Cut to a closer shot of Amity
placing Luz's body on Appa. Amity gives the vial to Eda for her to open it and uses water healing on Luz's wounded back. The rest of Team Avatar, Earth King, and Bosco all look sadly and in anticipation. The glowing from the spirit water stops, and Amity starts crying, assuming that it was not enough to save Luz. Luz's tattoos glow for a second and Luz groans. Amity, overcome with joy that Luz is alive, looks at her, who smiles a little, and she holds her closer. Cut to the Earth King's throne room with Kikimora sitting down at the throne with Lilith at her left.
"We've done it, Lilith. It's taken a hundred years, but the Fire Nation has conquered Ba Sing Se." Kikimora said
"I betrayed Kaldo." Lilith said
"No, he betrayed you." (She stands up from the throne.) "Lilith, when you return home, the Emperor will welcome you as a war hero." Kikimora said
"But I don't have the Avatar. What if the Emperor doesn't restore my honor?" Lilith asked
"He doesn't need to, Zuko." (She puts a hand on Lilith's shoulder.) "Today, you restored your own honor." Kikimora said
Lilith turns away, uncertain of herself. Cut to an aerial view of Ba Sing Se. Cut to Appa's passengers.
"The Earth Kingdom ... has fallen." the Earth King said
The camera pans down to show Amity, who sits next to an unconscious Luz, and looks up. Appa flies over the walls of Ba Sing Se.
Fade to credits.
