Observations

Amethio got to work as soon as he received his orders.

He was to scout Viridian City and nearby Pallet Town; at least that was the plan, until Zir, one of his subordinates, reported that a foreign Champion was currently staying in Viridian. It also didn't help that those so-called Rising Volt Tacklers were there too.

They weren't the problem.

If the target were to make contact with the Champion, the plan would have to change and fast. A champion, even a foreign one, was dangerous for the operation.

A Charizard was flying around Viridian and the forest.

Conia, Zir's partner, reported a second flier in the sky, hours later, a Pidgeot belonging to the local gym leader. A black Greninja was walking the streets of Viridian City, too, except Zir had lost sight of it for a while before it returned, holding shopping bags from somewhere.

Amethio wasn't a fool.

They had to move the airship to a new location.

What a mess.

Spinel wrote in his report that he didn't think the target would come running to those Rising Volt Tacklers anytime soon. He had given her a few things to think about before he lost sight of her back at the academy.

Amethio tried not to think about what Spinel had said, or done, to the target.

The report only mentioned he had lost the girl and her pendant to a mysterious Pokemon's attack, and now they were on a wild Swanna chase trying to find her before she made powerful friends that would take notice of their operation and put a stop to it.

But at the end of the day, Amethio wonders, if he had been in Spinel's shoes, would he have done things differently? Would he have failed, too?
