I spent the rest of the day getting things sorted in the new house. I wasn't sure what the point was when I probably wouldn't be there for much longer, but I did it to keep myself busy.
Maggie came to see me to tell me that Deana had decided to move the meeting till the following evening so people had time to sleep on it.
"It's a bit unfair that Aaron and Daryl aren't here" I said.
"That is what I told her, I think that is why she is doing it for tomorrow, so hopefully they will be back by then" she said.
I suddenly had a wave of sickness, I ran to the kitchen sink and threw up. Maggie came running over and passed me a glass of water.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
" yes I'm fine, probably just all the drama" I said wiping my mouth.
"do you have something to tell me?" She asked.
"no why would I?" I asked.
"Kerry just tell me" she said smirking.
" For god sake" I sighed. "Daryl doesn't officially know yet, and I've already told 2 people"
"What do you mean Daryl doesn't officially know?" she asked.
" because he's had a feeling for a while, but I only had it confirmed this morning after Daryl had left" I said.
"What confirmed?" she grinned.
"for Christ sake Maggie, I'm 13 weeks pregnant" I blurted out.
"I'm 6 weeks pregnant" she blurted back. We both held each other and cried and cried. Eventually we settled down and congratulated each other. We both pinkied that we wouldn't tell anyone. I was the only one that knew about Maggie, other than Glenn and Pete.
Now Maggie was in the same situation as me I knew she needed to make this work and I fell a lot more confident that it would.
I so desperately wanted to speak to Daryl but they didn't have any radios or anything at Alexandria, which was strange to me, the community was so well established.
I went back to the main house to see what was going on.
Unbeknownst to me Glenn, Tara, Noah and Eugene, had gone on a run with the curly haired dick, Nicholas and Deanna's other son Aiden.
I hadn't met Aiden but I had seen him about, when we first arrived.
I only knew they had gone because I saw the bowls of mac and cheese still left, and I asked Carl about them.
I cleaned all the kitchen up ready to prepare our evening meal, I covered the bowls over and left them in the pantry to keep them from spoiling. Rick and Michonne had gone for a walk whilst I played housewife. A little while later Michonne came running in, looking frantic.
"what's wrong?" I asked.
"Noah's dead, Tara's in bad way and Aiden is dead also" she replied.
My mouth went dry and I felt sick to my stomach.
"what the hell happened?" I asked.
" I don't know the full details but Glenn is being interviewed by Deana as we speak" she said.
"well shouldn't I be in on this interview?" seeing as she wants me to deal with punishment" I said.
"no one is saying there has been a crime yet but I get what you are saying" she said.
"so if you see what she is saying why the hell isn't this meeting up to Kerry tomorrow then?" Carol piped up.
"I think this has happened all a bit fast I think that because I haven't put anything in place yet and we just arrived, that it isn't up to me. But obviously she trusted me in the first place so I think Maggie and I will be a good influence on her. She will probably want to decide if Rick should be kicked out, and we need her to realise if Rick goes we all go, regardless of how good we could make it here. How good for them it would be for us to stay. If she does decide he can stay then I hope that she will let me choose the punishment" I said trying to defuse the situation.
"Seems like a lot of ifs and buts to me" Carol said.
"And that's just the way it is, I'm sorry. Maggie and I are probably our only hopes of trying to get this shit squashed or even a little bit sorted, so instead of arguing between ourselves, let's work together" I snapped, "now if you will excuse me, I need to go and see how my friends are and find out exactly what's happened" I said storming out the front door, slamming it behind me. I marched all the way up to the surgery, not Pete's house, the actual surgery for people who were going for more than a check up.
Eugene was there looking upset and Tara was still unconscious. He told me that Aiden had accidentally shot a grenade on a soldier, who had turned which had blown Tara backwards hitting her head and impaling Aiden on a spike. He then said that Glenn, Nicholas and Noah got over run and they couldn't save Noah.
I gave Eugene a hug and told him when he wanted to have a rest I would take over. My next stop was Deanna's house, to speak with her and Maggie, and to find out why Glenn was being interviewed if what Eugene said happened had happened.
Maggie came over to me from the other side of the porch as I walked up the steps to the house.
"What the hell is going on?" I asked.
"Gabriel's been in here this afternoon slagging us all off" she said.
"what do you mean?" I asked.
"Saying we were all bad people, and Rick was a dangerous man. That they needed to get us out" She replied.
"Are you joking me? Who the hell does he think he is?" I said getting angry.
"I know but I think it's best if we don't say anything right now, and see how tonight pans out at the meeting first" she said.
"I really hope Daryl is back before that" I sighed.
"You and me both" she said rubbing my arm.
Glenn appeared all of a sudden, to which I gave him a hug.
"Is everything Okay?" I asked.
"Not sure, but that prick Nicholas has completely fabricated a story, making out I am the bad one" he said.
"I think I need to have a word with Deana and then we all need to have a meeting with everyone back at the house" I said.
"Agreed" Maggie nodded.
"see you when I get back" I said, and I marched up the steps to the front door and I banged it with all my might.
Reg, which was Deana's husband answered it. My anger subsided by 25 percent, because Reg was just such a lovely man.
"You here to see the boss?" he smiled.
"Yes, Yes I am" I said sternly.
"Come on through, she is out the back" he smiled.
I followed him through to the back and saw Deana stood there, deep in thought.
"before I get into it Deana, I want to tell you how deeply sorry I am for your loss and I truly mean that" I said.
"I know you do Kerry" she smiled sympathetically, "yet I am sensing that you have more than sympathy to speak to me about"
"Yes I have, you asked me to work two jobs here for you, and one of them being is to put order in place, to make laws and rules for people who commit crimes here." I said.
"Yes, and that is still the case" she said.
"So how is it that you have had interviews with Glenn and Nicholas without my input, without even consulting me with what had happened." I said.
"Kerry, I asked you to make law's and punishments for people who broke the laws, in no way shape or form did I give you the job of Judge, Jury or executioner" she said. I went to speak and she cut me off.
"So when I have decided if Rick is guilty, or if there was foul play with what happened to Aiden and Noah, then and only then will I be consulting you. Now if you don't mind can you please leave, I have a meeting to organise and also my sons funeral" She said.
"Just so you know, what ever you're thinking about Rick, we came as one and we will leave as one. Rick goes we all go" I said.
"Noted" she replied. I turned on my heel and stormed down the stairs at the back. Reg called out to me and apologised for her behaviour.
"You don't need to do that" I smiled.
"I want to, she isn't herself at the moment, as you will understand" he said.
"I get it, I really do, but she hasn't been out there like we have, she doesn't get how the world is now, and it will be her downfall. It will be this places downfall, believe me" I said knowingly.
" I will try my best" he said rubbing my arm. I walked off back to the house, and sat down with everyone.
We spoke about what went on with Rick and now this thing with Aiden. A lot of things were said and it wasn't all nice but we decided that we would do our best to do it the nice way with the people of Alexandria, but Rick and Carol were adamant that we would take it from them if they decided to kick Rick and or Glenn out. I wanted to be alone so I said I would go to the house next door. Everyone said they wouldn't allow it, so Glenn and Maggie were to sleep in one of the rooms. But this wasn't good enough for Rick, so I agreed that Abraham could sleep down stairs and keep an eye on things.
I went next door before it even got dark and had a long hot shower. I spent ages on my hair so I looked really nice for Daryl's return. I missed him so much, he hadn't even been gone 24 hours and everything had gone wrong.
I put my hair in a bonnet so it didn't get ruined. I went downstairs in my Pyjamas to see that Glenn and Maggie were sat in the living room playing a board game.
"hey" I smiled.
"are you okay?" Maggie asked.
"just missing Daryl" I sighed.
"He will be back soon enough, I bet he will be back in the morning, he loves you, so he will definitely be back as soon as he can" she smiled.
"are you hungry?" Glenn asked.
"Starving" I said.
"let me make you something, you're always cooking for us so let me" he said.
"Okay" I said plonking myself on the sofa next to Maggie.
He stood up and walked over to the kitchen.
"So what do you fancy?" he asked.
"Anything, honestly I just need food" I said.
"How about some pasta salad?" he asked.
"Sounds good to me" I smiled.
Maggie and I chatted away whilst Glenn made me food.
"does he know that I know?" I asked
"Yeah" she nodded.
"and does he know about me?" I asked.
"no you told me not to say anything so I wouldn't do that, plus it's not fair that everyone knows before Daryl." She whispered.
I touched her arm and mouthed thank you.
Glenn made the nicest pasta salad, with boiled eggs, onions potato's and the nicest dressing I had ever tried.
As I finished eating Abraham came knocking on the door.
I went and got him blankets and pillows, which I used to set the sofa up. I made us all a drink for bed and made sure everywhere was locked up.
I got into bed and lay looking out the window at the moon, was Daryl looking at the moon right now, did he miss me as much as I missed him. I wiped a tear from my eye and buried my head in the pillow where I eventually fell asleep.
