Here's the second part of the double update! Enjoy!

Chapter 15: Heroes on the Run

(With Naofumi and co.)

After eating lunch, the party and Melty quickly packed their things and continue their journey before the knights could catch up to them. While they did encounter monsters, they mostly ran away due to risk of the fight drawing unwanted attentions. Four hours has passed and the sun was about to set. Fortunately, Naofumi managed to find a spot for them to take a break, which was a small cave that vaguely resembled a small hut.

Tyler sent out Vivillon to have her scour the area around them to see if they were being followed while Chelsea sent out Arbok by laying her head to the ground to hear if they were some vibrations. It took ten minutes for Vivillon to come back.

"So, how did it go?" Tyler asked.

"No signs of our pursuers. We're safe for now." Vivillon answered.

"How about you, Arbok? Are there any footsteps?" Chelsea said as her Pokémon raised her head.

"They were none Misssss Chelssssssea." Arbok informed her Trainer. "But if you want my opinion, we should send ssssssomeone to be our eyessss and earssss just to be save."

"I got it covered. Come on out, Gengar!" Tyler then threw his Poké Ball into the air, allowing Gengar to appear.

"Say no more, Tyler. I know what you're asking. You want me to do a little stealth surveillance, right? Leave it to me!" Gengar proceeded to dive into the shadow of a rock formation next to them.

"It never fails to impress just how easy Gengar can enter the shadows." Merleo remarked.

"Well, Gengar isn't called the "Shadow Pokémon" for nothing." The gun wielder said.

"We should be able to take a break. Hopefully, no one caught up to us." Naofumi told everyone. 'Especially that harpy.'

"Okay!" Filo said as she entered the cave.

As Naofumi smiled, he glanced towards Melty, who was frowning. "You okay, Princess?"

"I'm fine." Melty huffed without even looking at him as she entered the cave.

"Looks like she doesn't like you." Kurisu chimed in. "But can't you really blame her? You're the one who gave Mel the cold shoulder the most."

"Maybe, but I like to think that she's a bit tired." Naofumi said.

"That is very true. Not everyday that Princess Melty travels around by foot." Merleo said before he entered the cave.

"Good work, Vivillon. Rest up for now." Tyler said as he returned his remaining Pokémon back into her Poke Ball.

"You too, Arbok." Chelsea said as she did the same thing before she entered the cave with Tyler.

It did not take long for the rest to enter the cave. It was slightly cramped, but they managed to get comfortable somehow. Once the night came in, everyone had dinner. As everyone was in the middle of eating their meals, Naofumi then spoke up.

"Hey, Kurisu. There's something I've been meaning to ask you." He said.

"Sure. Got something on your mind?" Kurisu asked.

"When you pull out some stuff out of your bag to show how ridiculously spacious that type of bag is, I noticed some strange disks." Naofumi said.

"Oh…" Kurisu then thrusted her hand into the bag before pulling one of the disks. Said disk was dark brown in coloration. "Is this what you mean?"

"Yeah, that's it." As he said that, Raphtalia and Merleo took a closer look.

"So, Master Naofumi. What are these disk things? They seem very fragile." Raphtalia asked her master.

"That's because they are." Naofumi replied. "It's one of the things that can be found in my world. but… I have a feeling that this one is a bit different."

"That's because they contained a Pokémon move." Kurisu explained, surprising anyone unfamiliar with the object.

"Wait. A Pokémon move? As in attacks used by Pokémon?" Raphtalia asked.

"Yeah. That's about it." Chelsea chimed in as she stared at the disk. "From the looks of it, This is a TM for a Rock type move."

"It's a TM for Rock Tomb, to be exact." Kurisu clarified

"TM?" Naofumi repeated. "And Rock Tomb… isn't that what Lairon used to have when he was an Aron?"

"TM is short for 'Technical Machine.' It's a very useful item that contains a move for a Pokémon. Many Pokémon Trainers sought them because they can provide moves that can teach a Pokémon that is outside of their natural movesets." She explained. "And yes, Rock Tomb is a move that Lairon previously learned before it got replaced by Rock Slide."

Naofumi hummed at that. "Sounds like those crystal balls the lady from the Magic Shop spoke about." he recalled, piquing Kurisu and Chelsea's interest.

"Crystal ball?"

"Oh, now that you mentioned it, that's true." Tyler agreed, also recalling that. "Well, we're not so sure about these crystal balls, but in our world, TMs are one-time use. One you use them on a Pokemon to have them learn a move they normally wouldn't, there's no reusing it on a different Pokémon because it instantly broke itself apart into million pieces."

"That is pretty interesting. A little bit different than the crystal ball." Melty stated.

"That shop lady did say a bunch of those things were ordered for the other Heroes." Naofumi pointed out. "That said, didn't you also say something about a shop selling those for generous discounts? Sounds to me like those things are pricy."

"They are, especially the more powerful moves." Kurisu said. "Normally… Wait, Naofumi. Just to be sure, your world uses Japanese yen, right?"

Naofumi sensed yet another comparison between his world and Kurisu's. "Amongst other currencies."

"Well, in my world, the cheapest store price for these is about this much." Taking a stick off the ground, Kurisu wrote down the cheapest price one TM usually goes for.

Naofumi widened his eyes in shock at the price. "Wait, seriously?! I could buy a few blu-rays with that money!"

"'Blu-rays?'" Raphtalia repeated, unfamiliar with the word.

"You mean you can get a bunch of Mantyke with this much money?" Tyler asked, mistook the term for a Pokemon.

"That's not what he meant, idiot!" Chelsea smacked him across his back.

Merleo proceeded to look at the price with intrigue. "Judging how Sir Naofumi reacted, I can assume these 'TMs' are very expensive. If it was in our world, it will be around 7 silvers or so. And can reach about more than 5 gold pieces for the more powerful ones."

Chelsea and Tyler looked at the price Kurisu wrote once more, and were unfazed by it. "Looks about right, if you convert it to our currency." Tyler said.

"That's assuming if our currency is remotely the same." Chelsea reminded.

"If I may ask, what is your currency in your world, Tyler, Chelsea?" Melty asked.

"We used pokédollars." Chelsea answered. "And I don't mean just Kalos, all of the regions around the world used it."

"Wait, your world only used one currency? To be honest, that's going to make things simple." Kurisu remarked.

"All right then. What's the currency in your and Naofumi's world?" Tyler asked. "Naofumi said that this 'yen' is one of the many currencies in his world."

"We have lots. Dollars, euro, ringgit, rupiah, and so much more." The former police intern replied.

"I see. There are so many currencies." Merleo remarked.

Once again left speechless by the trainers' worlds, Naofumi shook his head and massaged his temple. "If this is supposed to be the cheapest price for one of those things, I don't think I want to find out what the most expensive is. Heck, for all I know, the price could depend on how good the move even is." he said. "I think I'll take my chances having my team learn the moves they naturally know, and have them improve on their own defenses."

"You're only saying that because you don't think it's worth just getting the one move, are you?" Tyler assumed, in which Naofumi neither confirmed nor deny.

"It would be good for you to have them learn a new move, though, Naofumi. For one thing, it will help cover up their weakness to various types. Like Lairon, for example. He has a severe weakness against Ground-type moves. A Water-type attack like Water Pulse can definitely help cover that weakness, and it's not a move he can normally learn," Kurisu pointed out.

"I think you forgot, Kurisu. From what I could remember, Lairon's Special Attack stat isn't high enough to make a sizeable damage." Chelsea reminded her. "Also, Lairon's pretty vulnerable to Fighting type moves so Aerial Ace is a pretty good counter for it. As a bonus, it'll never miss." She continued. "Once he evolves again, He'll definitely got access for coverage against Ground type moves."

"Get off my back, will you." Naofumi denied, still hiding his interest. "Besides, even if what you say is true, last I checked, Pokémon can only use four moves. And from what I learned ever since becoming a Pokémon Trainer, you have to forget one old move to make room for a new one. What if I have Lairon forget a move that we will be needing more? I'm not going to use another TM for that."

"Actually, that–" Tyler stopped himself when he realized what he was about to say. "Oh, wait, that's right. Those people wouldn't exist here."

While Naofumi raised a confused brow at that, Kurisu and Chelsea understood what he was about to say.

"You were going to mention the Move Reminder, weren't you?" the latter voiced.

"True, it would be nice if we have one of them with us. It would be more convenient in helping us switch out Pokemon moves on the go." the former stated.

Naofumi grew confused by this. "And a Move Reminder is…?"

"Someone who specializes in having Pokémon remember moves they had forgotten, or whatever move they abandoned for a new move. They can also help in making a Pokémon forget a move. Not like we'll find either of them out here." Chelsea said.

"That is very unfortunate." Merleo lamented before seeing the TM on Kurisu's hand. "So this Rock Tomb… What do we know about it."

"Why don't we ask the Pokédex?" Chelsea then opened up the Pokédex and managed to look up the move.

"Rock Tomb is a Rock type move with a base power and accuracy of 60 and 95 respectively. The user hurls boulders at the target to inflict damage. This also lowers the target's Speed."

"So, it also lowers the Speed of the target?" Merleo remarked. "It's essentially Speed Down except you also inflict damage on your opposition."

"Hold on. I think I've seen a move which also does that." Naofumi said as he mind flashed to when Gengar used Icy Wind against Glass. "Yeah, it's that cold wind move that Tyler's Gengar have."

"You mean Icy Wind? Yeah, it's the counterpart to Rock Tomb, but it's a special move." Chelsea said as Tyler looked up something on the Pokedex to which he widened his eyes at something that he just read.

"Oh, wow. I never thought it's possible." Tyler said, earning the other's attention.

"Tyler, what are you looking up on?" Raphtalia asked.

"The movesets for Quilladin." Tyler said. "It says here that Quilladin is able to learn Rock Tomb by TM."

"Oh, that's a great idea!" Chelsea agreed. "By learning a Rock type move, Quilladin should be able to fight off all but one of his weaknesses. For context, Quilladin is weak to Fire, Flying, Ice, Bug, and Poison type moves. Aside from Poison, he can practically fight off the other types."

Naofumi then began to see the appeal of it. At first, he was against it, but became more receptive due to the possibility of one move covering Quilladin's multiple weaknesses. And also due to the move not only dealing damage but also making his opponent slower, he can easily imagine how much of a help that will be, especially against a speedy opponent.

"All right, fine. I'll do it." Naofumi said as he took the TM out of Kurisu's hand. He then pulled out a Poké Ball. "Come on out, Quilladin!"

He threw the Poke Ball into the air, summoning Quilladin from said Poké Ball.

"Need something, Shield Bro?" Quilladin asked. It was then that the TM for Rock Tomb started glowing.

"My word. The TM is glowing. The move within it really is compatible to Quilladin." Merleo pointed out.

"Just teaching you a new move. Are you up for it?." Naofumi asked him.

"Sure, Shield Bro! Sign me up!" As he said that, a popup appeared in front of his Trainer's face.

Please choose a move that will be replaced with Rock Tomb.

It was then that he was shown all of the moves that his Quilladin currently has. To be frank, this was not the first time he saw something as he has already experiencing it.

'Let's see… Quilladin has Vine Whip, Needle Arm, Leech Seed, and Pin Missile. The question is which one should I have him forget." Naofumi pondered before he opened and read the information for Leech Seed, a move that he learned recently. "This move saps the opponent's HP a little by little until it's defeated. That's could've been real helpful during the battle against that Soul Eater and that Glass woman. This is a pretty good move for stalling. I think I'll keep this one.' He then moved to another move, Vine Whip. 'Quilladin has this move for a long time, ever since he crossed over to this world as a Chespin. With the way he is now, Vine Whip is too weak for him now. It's time to get rid of it.' He proceeded to choose said move.

Then, the TM glowed brightly as Quilladin was enveloped in a brown energy outline. It took three seconds for the glow to fade away, for both Quilladin and the TM.

Quilladin forgot Vine Whip and have learned Rock Tomb!

"Okay, it's done–Gah!" As he said that, The TM on his hand exploded itself into million pieces before disappearing into nothing, causing him to tumble down on the ground.

"Master Naofumi! Are you all right?" Raphtalia wasted no time coming to her master's side.

"I'm fine. It caught me off guard, that's all." Naofumi then turned towards Kurisu. "You didn't tell me this is what happens when you used a TM on a Pokemon!"

"You never asked. Plus, consider it a little payback for doubting me." Kurisu said with a playful smirk.

"Geez, you weren't kidding when you say these things are one-use only…" Naofumi remarked before a popup appeared.

You have used a TM for the first time! You have obtained the skill: TM Creation!

Naofumi immediately realized what the skill would imply. "This might be a shock but I got a skill that lets me make more of these TMs."

Hearing this made the otherworldly Trainers surprised.

"Are you for real!?" Tyler exclaimed.

"Did I hear it right? You can basically make TMs!?" Chelsea said.

"This changes everything…" Kurisu said. "But it makes sense. Because of how one-use they are, it's no surprise that there's a way to make more of them."

"You know, I'm very curious but what are the materials needed to make a TM?" Raphtalia asked.

"I don't know…" Tyler replied.

"I once asked a shopkeeper about how a TM were made of but he dodged the question." The former Team Flare admin recalled. "So yeah, we don't know."

"It's created from Pokémon. Like a piece of their fur, scales, or feathers to be exact."

Hearing this widened the eyes of the Kalosian Trainers.

"And you know this how, exactly?" Naofumi asked.

"A foreign exchange student from Spain discussed it during class when I was in high school. He explained from where the TMs are made to how it was founded." Kurisu said. "There's a device called 'TM Machine' or 'Technical Machine Machine' that is used to make TMs. It's basically like an ATM for TMs."

"If I may ask, what is this 'ATM'?" Merleo asked.

"It's a machine that stores and gives you money. It stands for 'Automatic Teller Machine.'" Kurisu answered.

"I see." Raphtalia said.

"That's just unbelievable…' The Shield Hero was flabbergasted.

"If I recall, you have spent a considerable amount of time crafting during your time as a traveling merchant, do you not?" The former court mage asked. "I'm sure that is in the realm of possibility for you to make one of these TMs."

"You are right about that. But I'll check that skill later." Naofumi said before he checked the movesets of Quilladin. 'That should do it, I guess. With how slow he is, Quilladin definitely need something to make up for it.' Before he closed the popup, he noticed a pair of commands that had something to do with an earlier discussion. "Umm… Chelsea. You said we need a Move Reminder to bring back old moves and get rid of some moves, right?"

"Yeah. Why?" Chelsea asked, oblivious to where her leader going with this.

"I don't think we need to come to them because we can just do it by ourselves." This bombshell took the otherworldly Trainers by surprise.

"Wait, what are you talking about?" Tyler asked him.

"You guys can look up on your Pokémon's moves, right? Looks like there's an option at the bottom that allows you to select a move to remember."

The revelation surprised them even more, as Kurisu looked it up on her Pokédex.

"Naofumi, what are you talking about? The Move Reminder is usually the only one who can help Pokémon remember or forget moves." Chelsea repeated.

"I know that's what you guys told me, but I looked through Quilladin's moveset, and there's literally an option that's asking if I want to change them."

Kurisu, who had been looking into the Pokédex app of her Poryphone, raised a brow at his claim. "I'm not seeing the option on my Poryphone. You think it's a Hero thing?"

"Possibly. Come on, Chelsea, give it a try," Naofumi told her, much to her confusion.

"Wait, why me?" she questioned.

"You are the Hammer Hero, Miss Chelsea." Merleo answered for the Shield Hero. "Granted, you may not have as much privilege as a Cardinal Hero, there are still things you can do that he can. And since we are making new discoveries with Sir Naofumi's shield using the existence of Pokémon, it is possible that the same can be said with your hammer…"

'That mage better not forget me.' Tyler heard his gun say to him.

Both he and Chelsea looked at each other, still unsure about Naofumi's claim, but decided to give it a try. It would be convenient if their Pokemon can remember an old move that would be of great help to them.

"Okay. So how did you do it?" Chelsea asked Naofumi.

"I have an option that takes me to my Pokémon's moveset from my menu. You two should be able to see that too." he answered.

Having seen him do that before, Tyler and Chelsea proceeded to check by themselves. Sure enough when they opened up the moveset of one of their Pokemon (Dunsparce for Tyler and Arbok for Chelsea), they were taken aback by the fact that the option really did exist.

"Oh wow! You were not kidding at all! It's right there!" Tyler stated. "How did we miss this?"

"It looks like Tyler can do it. Must be because of the gun he has." Chelsea remarked.

Little did the two know, there were a certain someone who felt left out.

"If this is a Hero thing, what a way to make a girl feel left out." Kurisu said, feeling a bit jealous with what they're able to do.

The Gun Hero proceeded to choose said option, causing a popup to appear in front of his face. He then take a look at Dunsparce's entire moveset. 'Hmm… It looks like Hyper Drill isn't in here. Make sense 'cause he's from Kalos. Or maybe it has to be done in an old fashioned way…?'

"It looks like we can change the movesets anytime we want." Chelsea stated while looking at the full moveset of her Arbok. "Let's change Venoshock and Toxic for something else…" She then proceeded replace said moves with another, starting with Venoshock.

Arbok forgot Venoshock and have learned Gunk Shot!

"And now for the last one!" She wasted no hesitation of replacing the other move.

Arbok forgot Toxic and have learned Glare!

"It's official. This feature works like a charm!" Chelsea declared before she and Tyler closed the popup.

"This will come in handy. I can tell you that." Naofumi said before he turned towards Raphtalia. "Because you can't access it, I'm going to be the one who will arrange your Pokémon's moveset. Hope you don't mind."

"Of course, Master Naofumi." Raphtalia nodded.

"I guess me and Chelsea will take care of Merleo's and Kurisu's 'll come to you to ask about which move that needs replacin'." Tyler said, turning his attention to Kurisu and Merleo.

"Yeah, Just say the word and it'll be done." Chelsea added.

"Much obliged." Merleo replied.

"Well, it sucks that I can't manage my Pokémon's moves by myself." The former police intern lamented. "But I appreciate the offer. Thank you, Chelsea."

After that, everyone proceeded to finish their dinner. Fortunately, around that time, nothing attacked them, especially the knights, who were on Malty's payroll, and the other Legendary Heroes, who were convinced by the doctored footage. Filo then fell asleep on her best friend's knees as Melty opened up her pendant and looked into the picture of both her beloved mother and father.

"Father…" Melty muttered as she felt a little homesick. At the same time, she was curious on a particular topic. One that has been plaguing her mind for quite awhile. "Sir Shield Hero. I need to ask you. What happened between you and Father?"

"So, you're finally asking that question, huh? Took you long enough." Naofumi remarked. "Let's just say you can trace it back to that bratty older sister of yours. She set me up, claiming I sexually harassed her, and then robbed me. And that 'dear' father of yours took her side without question. I guess it helped that he had something against the previous Shield Hero, and yet he took it out on me when I had no idea why was he like that. Heck, she even turned those three idiots against me, especially that moron Motoyasu." He answered bitterly.

"This cannot be…" Melty was shocked to hear it, I mean, sure, her older sister had always been a troublemaker, but to think she would stoop so low as to stir such an incident for no reason other than she could. What was more shocking is how easy her father took her side. Though she remembered how good her older sister with her silver tongue.

"Ever since then, that trash of a king will find some way to screw me over. Like how he forced me into a duel where I almost lost hadn't Kurisu interfered. How he banned my party from Class Upgrades. And now, he wants our Pokémon." The Shield Hero clenched his fists hard. "He threatened to take everything from me again to my face! There's no way I'm gonna stand by and let him step all over me again!"

"..." Melty could not do anything to defend from the statement. It was crystal dear that the Shield Hero has suffered injustice. Especially since her sister Malty had a hand to his suffering. "I cannot believe this… He was supposed to treat the Shield Hero well, as Mother told him." She then towards Merleo. "You were supposed to be by his side, Merleo. What happened?"

"You see, I tried to talk him out of summoning all four Heroes to Melromarc. However, he considered my action to be treason and was banished." Merleo replied, surprising Melty. "To be fair, my loyalty has always been to your mother. As for your father, I always respected him to a degree but it all faded when he ignored my pleas."

"That's awful…" She muttered. Merleo has always have the best interest for the kingdom. The fact that his father unlawfully banished him means that he had truly changed for the worse.

"Oh, that's right! I was wondering about that." Kurisu chimed in. "Your mother… She doesn't happen to be the one who is really in charge of the kingdom, does she?"

"Yes, that's right. My mother is the queen. In terms of the pecking order, she's higher than Father." Melty said.

"So wait, you're saying that geezer married into the family?" Tyler asked.

"Of course, Sir Tyler. You see, Melromarc followed matrilinial succession, hence why there are princesses in the royal family instead of princes." Merleo said, causing Naofumi and Chelsea to barely hold a laughter.

"What is so funny?" Melty asked.

"What's not to laugh? That geezer's an adopted royalty." Naofumi said. "It's funny that he runs the kingdom like he owns the joint, acting all superior and everything."

"He is the king, after all." The second princess replied.

"But he's a king without a drop of royal blood. Merleo wasn't kidding when he said he's only a king consort." Chelsea added.

"Oh yeah. That is so funny that an idiot like that a king." Gengar chimed in, surprising everyone with his sudden appearance.

"Whoa! When did you get here, Gengar?" Tyler asked.

"Just now." The Shadow Pokemon answered. "Now, I hate to be that guy who interrupted you when you're about to sleep, but we may have to get out of here. Now." He informed them as he dropped his mischievous tone. This alerted everyone. "I spotted a couple of unfriendly faces not too far from here. My guess is that they're the goons who worked under that two-faced princess."

"Looks like they're caught up to us." Naofumi said as Tyler returned Gengar to his Poke Ball.

"Let's shake them off while we can." Chelsea proposed.

"Filo, wake up… We have to go now." Melty woke her friend up before they proceeded to pack up and sneak out of the cave.

As they walk ahead, they realized that their pursuers got ahead of them was looking around, forcing them to look for another way. And they managed to find another way, in a form walking through a narrow ledge.

"We should be very careful everyone. One false step and we fell." Kurisu advised as she and the others steadily walk to evade their pursuers.

Unfortunately, the knights were right above them, still looking for the renegades.

"Shit! Those knights blocked this path too. We'll have to turn back!" Tyler urged as he and his friends turned back.

But, Melty ended up stepping on a loose rock and she fell.

"Aah!" Melty shouted.

"I got you Mel!" Chelsea reached out to Mel by the hand and managed to save her from falling.

"Thank you, Chelsea." Melty said as she was pulled up.

"That's what friends are for." She replied with a smile.

"Hey, I heard something!" The group heard one of the knights' voice. "I found them! Down there!"

"Oh, dear. We've been spotted." Merleo muttered.

"Got that right." Naofumi replied before glancing towards Melty. "Hey, can you run?"

"I can." Melty answered.

"We'll make a break for it past that big rock." Naofumi said while pointing to the direction they originally went.

And without a moment's hesitation, everyone proceeded to run to the aforementioned direction, with the knights hot in their trails.

Unfortunately for them, they immediately run into a dead end.

"Shit! We hit a dead end!" Tyler exclaimed as they come to face to face with the knights, who took advantage of the fact to surround them.

"This isn't looking so good…" Chelsea muttered as she readied her hammer.

Coming out from among the group of knights were none other than the three other Cardinal Heroes.

"Give it up, you're surrounded Naofumi." Itsuki told him as he and his two colleagues approached him. "Cease your resistances and release Princess Melty at once!"

"What do you mean by 'releasing'!? I didn't tie her up and everything!" Naofumi refuted.

"Quit lying to us! We have all the proof we need now!" Motoyasu refuted.

"Please, Sir Heroes! I am perfectly fine as you can see." Melty spoke up. "The Shield Hero kept watch over me. Making sure I was safe."

"Wait a minute. This whole thing was happening because Naofumi abducted you!" Ren reasoned.

"This is all a misunderstanding. You see, someone was plotting to have me killed." Melty continued. "I asked him to take me with him and protect my life."

"He's protecting you? Come on!" Ren scoffed at the idea.

"What advantage does the Shield Hero can possibly gain by abducting me?" The second princess stated. "The Queen told me, 'This is the time for all of us to work together. It's the only way we'll be able to thwart the Catastrophies.'" She continued. "Our world can't stand anymore of these ridiculous, pointless fightings. Put away your weapons away! Please!"

Hiding from behind the knights, at a safe distance, was a pair of familiar Pokemon.

"Oh wow. So those guys were Heroes? Looks like they're pretty cool." Wobbuffet commented.

"..." Golett simply observed the situation unfolding.

Back with Naofumi, he saw some logic in the princess's words.

"She's right! All of this is just a one big setup! I got no secrets." Naofumi chimed in. "If you decided to put down your weapons, I'll tell you everything I know–"

"Please! Don't listen to the Shield Hero!" A familiar voice cut him off as everyone noticed the sudden appearance of Malty.

"Oh no. That skank is gonna ruin everything for us…" Chelsea sighed, having to meet with her least favorite person again.

"That Devil possess a brainwashing shield! It allows him to take over your minds by simply talking to him. It's the most dangerous weapon he has!" Malty claimed.

"That is such a preposterous notion! There is no way a form of shield such as that existed!" Merleo stated.

"Be quiet, you traitor! You allied with him just so you can unlock that accursed shield." Malty retorted. "Plus, in the past month, several heretics showed up worshipping the Devil of the Shield! And that brainwashing shield is the cause behind such sudden rise of heretics."

'Curses! The Three Heroes Church warped the truth. Their prejudice towards the Shield Hero is too deep.' Merleo cursed in his head.

"The Devil of the Shield called himself the 'Savior of the Heavenly Fowl' and started brainwashing the innocent!" Malty continued.

"That's not what happened! You're lying through your teeth again!" Kurisu exclaimed with such anger.

"Sister, you're mad…" Melty said with worrisome.

'Brainwashing shield? Ha! What utter nonsense! Did that wench honestly believe that a wielder of a Legendary Weapon would indulge in such level of depravity?" Tyler could hear the gun ranting. 'It is YOU who brainwash the ignorant with your falsehood, you filthy snake!'

"Melty, my dear little, deranged creature. It's obvious that Devil of the Shield has already brainwashed you. And so with that naive girl." Malty continued.

"Ah, so that's what happened. That means Raphtalia, Filo, and those two other girls were brainwashed too." Motoyasu said, immediately believing in Malty at face value.

"Don't believe everything she says, you moron!" Chelsea retorted.

"Oh give me break! I told you, I don't have a shield that can brainwash people!" Naofumi said. "If I had, we wouldn't be in this mess." He continued. "Plus, you're forgetting that my shield is the basically the same kind as you three! So, you should have a brainwashing weapon on them too!"

"That is true…" Ren stated, agreeing with Naofumi. If Naofumi really does have a brainwashing shield, he along with the others would have their own version of it amongst the weapon tree by now. The fact that he did not see a form of his Legendary Sword that is used for brainwashing mean that there was something that did not add up to Malty's accusation.

"You're forgetting that you have monsters at your disposal. Especially that evil, Three Headed Dragon." Malty pointed out. "I'm sure you have a couple of monsters that also can brainwash too."

"No, we don't! Even if we did, we don't go around using it for every damn thing!" Tyler said.

"But can you prove that? That Soul Eater-like monster of yours certainly a type to learn a brainwash spell." Ren said.

"Plus, I heard that Chelsea chick has a magic fox. The evidence are all there." Motoyasu said.

The Kalosian Trainers were speechless because they both knew that Gengar and Delphox can learn Hypnosis but that move was not amongst the moveset that they currently had on hand. And even they want to deny, Malty will spin their words right back at them.

"Make this easy for yourself and release Princess Melty. I promise that no harm will come to her." Ren demanded.

"And while you're at it, relinquish all of the monsters you have on your possessions to us. I believe Papa have demanded you do that. It was clear that you and your party can't be trusted with them." Malty said with a malicious smirk.

As Naofumi thought it over, he felt a tug in his cape. He looked and saw Melty was the one who did it.

"Please… If I go with her, I'll be killed." It was after hearing her quiet plea that Naofumi clicked in his mind. That the second princess truly did not have any ulterior motives and really was targeted by her evil older sister.

But before he could speak, a blue light came out from Tyler and coming out of the light was none other Hydreigon.

"Sorry, but no deal. We're not handling her to you. On another note, we Pokémon will not bend easily to a selfish brat like you." Hydreigon said before glancing towards Malty. "I'm not trusting Mel with her."

"Oh, really? An evil being such as you have nerve to talk back to me?" Malty asked. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't you the one who went on a rampage on the knights?"

"Yeah. You went berserk like a wild animal. Naofumi's one thing, but there's no way I'm leaving Myne's sister with a savage monster like you." Motoyasu chimed in.

"Oh, really? And this is coming from the selfish brat's pawn?" Hydreigon retorted.

"A pawn!? Myne's not like that!" The Spear Hero exclaimed, offended by the accusation. "She's the sweetest girl I've ever met!"

"Oh, sure. 'Sweetest'. Yeah, right. You're saying that now because you're only seeing her on the surface. But deep down, she's just a selfish, remorseless seductress who was willing to ruin the lives of someone just get what she wants and lie her way out of a mess. Try saying that once she throws you away like garbage." The Brutal Pokemon stated before glaring at redhead. "Be honest. You're planning to kill your sister, aren't you?"

"Me? Why would I kill my dearest sister?" Malty asked, feigning innocence.

"Hydreigon's right. You may have fooled the others, but we know the truth." Kurisu said. "You're gonna take Mel somewhere where no one is looking after 'saving her' and then kill her on the grounds of 'removing the brainwash spell' just so you can be the heir to the throne! Come on, you damn liar! I don't need my ability to tell me that! Your true intention is written all over your face!"

Hearing this surprised the opposition, particularly Ren and Itsuki. In a midst of it, Naofumi whispered something to Filo while Kurisu whispered to both Tyler and Chelsea.

"Myne is going to do what!?" Itsuki asked.

"D-Don't be fooled by her lies, Sir Sword Hero!" Malty said.

"T-That's impossible! Myne would never do that to her own sister!" Motoyasu defended his "girlfriend".

"As much I hate to admit it, that dragon and that NPC girl may on to something." Ren said. As much as he wants to dismiss it, there was a possibility on why Naofumi and his party refused to hand Melty over, particularly when Malty entered the picture. There was also the fact that the older princess was willing to sabotage the duel, so it was not impossible to say that she was malicious enough to scheme for the younger sister's demise.

"I'd pick the so-called evil dragon's words over that two-faced woman if I were you. There's no way she's not gonna do anything to her own sister. She's so desperate to become an heir to the throne that she's willing to kill one of the members of her own damn family to get it." Naofumi spoke up, warning his fellow Heroes. "Which is why I'm not handing her to you. Plus, I did promise to keep her safe."

"Sir Shield Hero…" Melty muttered.

"Oh, wow. The green guy is really something…" Wobbuffet muttered, still hiding with Golett. 'Maybe I can be like that too… To be brave…'

"Which is also why I'm gonna do this." Naofumi then turned towards Filo. "Filo, now!"

"You too, Tyler! Chelsea!" Kurisu shouted.

"Okay!" Filo complied as she transformed into her Filolial Queen form before leaning forward, allowing Naofumi, Raphtalia and Melty to get on board.

"Come out, Sawsbuck!" Chelsea threw a Poke Ball into the air, allowing Sawsbuck to appear.

"If you want to escape, get in." Sawsbuck said as Chelsea and Kurisu get on him.

"Use Dragon Pulse, partner!" As Tyler commanded, Hydreigon launched the move at the knights behind Malty, sending them sprawling on the ground. "Now's our chance! Let's go!" He continued as he and Merleo got on Hydreigon's back before he took the skies, flying over their pursuers.

Following behind him was Filo and Sawsbuck, who jumped over them and was landing on the open path just behind their opposition.

"I don't think so!" Motoyasu proclaimed before he threw something towards Filo. The object latched on one of Filo's leg, causing her to lose power and reverted to her human form and dropping all of her passengers.

"Gaah!" Naofumi grunted as he, Raphtalia, and Melty fell to the ground.

"Oh shit! Are you okay?" Tyler asked as he had Hydreigon fly low, allowing the former to land on the ground and picked himself up. Sawsbuck also stopped prancing, allowing the girls that was riding on his back get off.

"I'm fine…" Naofumi said as he noticed Filo fell right near Malty. "Oh no, Filo!"

"Escape is pointless. Give it up!" Malty said with a devious smirk as Motoyasu approached Filo with a lecherous look.

"Filo, what are you doing!? Transform!" Naofumi told her.

"I can't, Master!" Filo said as she was backing away from the Spear Hero once she realized something kept her

"It's no use! That Filolial got a special shackle latched on one of its feet. It was a magical item crafted by the royal alchemists. It saps away their strengths and keep transforming species from transforming." Malty said as Motoyasu still approaching the downed girl with ill intentions.

'That moron… He called me a rapist but right now he's acting no different…!' Naofumi pondered as he tried to thought of a way to get out of this predicament.

"Come on. Filo~! Don't be scared. I just want to give you a good time–Gaaah!" Just as he was about to have his way with Filo, he was struck by a move from the side, causing him to be sent flying to his side.

"What the!?" Malty immediately looked at the culprit. It was none other than Golett, who have decided to intervene.

"..." Golett glared at her with its fist clenched, ready to attack again.

"Is that an Earth Golem?" Ren asked.

"But it's a little on the small side, isn't it?" Itsuki added.

Naofumi and the others were shocked at bizarre creature that just saved Filo.

"What is that?" Naofumi wondered.

"I-I'm here too, you know!" A new voice joined as everyone looked to see who it is. It was none other than Wobbuffet. "N-N-No need to be afraid, g-green guy! I-I'm here…!" As much as he want to stood tall, it was obvious that he was quaking in fear.

"And it seems that's another one! What are they?" As Merleo wondered, Tyler and Chelsea pull out their Pokédex to see what has joined the fray.

"Golett, the Automaton Pokemon. A Ground and Ghost type. The energy that burns inside it enables it to move, but no one has yet been able to identify this energy." Chelsea's Pokédex stated. Unlike the Golett that appeared before them, the one in the Pokédex is blue colored on some parts and has yellow eyes and spiral.

'No way….' Kurisu muttered in her thoughts. Having studied Pokémon throughout her whole life, she had a good idea on the Pokemon's shape and usual colors. Because of that, she immediately concluded on why this Golett was colored differently. 'Is this a Shiny Golett!?"

"Wobbuffet, the Patient Pokemon. A Psychic type. To keep its pitch-black tail hidden, it lives quietly in the darkness. It is never first to attack." Tyler's Pokédex stated.

"'Never first to attack?' What the heck does that mean?" Naofumi wondered as Raphtalia and Melty got up.

"Tch! More pests." Malty gritted her teeth before she unleashed a purple energy sphere into the air and exploded like a firework.

"Oh no. She's calling reinforcements!" Merleo informed the party.

"Seize them!" Malty commanded her knights as some managed to pick themself up and charged towards the runaways.

"It looks like we have to fight then." Tyler lamented before he pulled out Vivillon's Poke Ball. "Come out, Vivillon!"

The Poke Ball was thrown into the air and opened up, revealing Vivillon.

"Leave it to me, Tyler! I'll send these meanies packing!" Vivillon said.

"Hydreigon! Get Filo and that Golett out of there." He told his partner.

"On it!" Hydreigon complied as he left.

"You're making that weak thing fight with you instead of that powerful Three-Headed Dragon? Ha! What's a butterfly going to do?" Malty said as she turned towards the magic caster knights. "Burn that thing to the ground!"

"I don't think so! Use Powder!" As Tyler commanded, Vivillon released red powder which she blew into the knights with her wings just as they were about to cast a fire magic.

"Fast Hellfire–" As the flames manifested, the red powder reacted with the fire, causing said the spell to literally blew up on the knight's faces.

"What!?" Malty exclaimed.

"Somehow, that spell backfired on them. Literally." Naofumi said as he noticed the red powder that were on the knights. "Wait… Is it because that red dust on them?"

"That's Powder. A move that is commonly used by Vivillon." Kurisu explained. "If the target was hit by this move, any attempts for them to use Fire type moves or fire-related attacks will end up damaging themselves by said attacks."

"Yeah, that move is really helpful when is used on a Fire type Pokémon." Chelsea said after returning Sawsbuck back to his Poké Ball.

"That accursed butterfly…" Malty growled.

Golett proceeded to grab on the shackle on one of Filo's legs and proceeded to use its strength to pull it off with both of its hands. Eventually, it managed to break it.

Filo then felt her strength begin to return as she saw her savior lending its hand. "Oh. Thank you." She said as she took its hand, allowing the Pokemon to help her get up.

"You rockheaded idiot…" Filo and Golett turned to see Motoyasu, who had recovered. "That was some cheap trick you pulled. Don't get in my way between me and Filo!"

Golett instead doubled down and stood in front of Filo in a protective manner.

"Fine. You've asked for it. Lightning Spear!" The Spear Hero shouted as a bolt of electricity shot towards Golett. But to his surprise, the attack did not faze it in the slightest. "That didn't work!?"

Golett proceeded to pull back one of its fists, which was coated in black and purple energy. He then pushed it forward, causing a black fist, which was in the form of its own fist, to be launched towards its opposition.

"Like I'd fall for that again!" Motoyasu dodged to his right to avoid the move. But what he did not know is that the move made a u-turn. "You call that an aim–Gaah!" He was struck in the back, causing him to stumble forward.

"Motoyasu!" Itsuki said as he and Ren rushed to his side.

"What the hell was that attack!? That's cheating!" Motoyasu complained as he got up.

"That's called 'Shadow Punch', genius," Tyler called, right from where he was standing just as Hydreigon arrived on the scene. "And it is a perfectly legit move that always hits its mark." Motoyasu quickly became annoyed by the thug's 'explanation' and was about to make a retort, but he was interrupted. "FYI, as we were sayin', we didn't kidnap Melty or even brainwash her! Even if some of us can do that, we never stoop that low! You're being lied to by that redhead witch!"

"Says the guy who let his dragon go on that rampage." Motoyasu retorted. "I don't know how that monstrosity is able to speak, but a savage will always remain a savage, and must be dealt with in full!"

"I admit that I did get carried away back then, letting that witch and her cronies take advantage of me." the Brutal Pokémon began. "But if I'm a savage, who is that witch?! Definitely not some saint. Just as you are not a hero as you claim!"

"Stop calling Myne a witch! She isn't like that! And I am very much a hero. Just as you are nothing more than a symbol of evil that needs to be erased!" Just as Motoyasu shouted, reinforcements arrived.

"Men! Capture the Shield Hero and his party! And seize every last one of those monsters that they have! Including the dragon and the small golem." The leading knight commanded as some of the knights had surrounded both Hydreigon and Golett. Both who grimaced at the heavy number against them, as they prepared themselves for a fight for their lives.

"All right, with that dragon and golem out of the way, I can continue–" Motoyasu said before he saw Wobbuffet standing between him and Filo.

"Y-You're not going to bully her! I won't let you!" Wobbuffet said. "You say you're a hero, and yet you're the one being so gullible to believe only one side! There's nothing heroic about that at all!"

"Another one of those things. I'm getting real sick of these types of monsters…" Motoyasu said as he pulled his spear backwards. "Just die! Chaos Spear!" He thrust his spear forward, causing several small projectiles to be launched at the weak-looking Pokémon.

Wobbuffet shrieked as he saw the attack head his way before forcing himself to stand his ground once more. His body became surrounded in a multicolored aura, which somehow stopped Chaos Spear just before it could hit.

"Huh!?" Motoyasu was flabbergasted, as did his colleagues.

The Patient Pokémon let out a scream as the Chaos Spear projectiles were launched right back at Motoyasu, but the attack was more intense and strong compared when it was fired by the latter.

"Not good!" Motoyasu cursed himself as he was being hit by his own attacks. "Gah!" He was sent sprawling into his side.

"Hahaha! How do you like that?!" Wobbuffet then laughed. "This is what happens when you judge a book by its cover!"

"Oh, wow. What was that move just now?" Naofumi asked.

"Mirror Coat." Kurisu answered before she smacked a knight with one of her tonfas. "A move which repels ranged attacks or special attack moves as we called it. "On top of it, it will turn the target's own move against them but twice the power." She continued as she defeated another knight who tried to attack her. "Like the Pokedex said, Wobbuffet never attacks first, which is because it can't attack on its own. so it relies on a move like Mirror Coat to inflict damage."

"I think I get the 'It is never first to attack' part now…" Naofumi remarked. 'That Pokémon's just like me. We both can't attack but we can take a lot of damage and then retaliate…'

"Sir Motoyasu!" Malty cried out of worry before she decided to aim a magic spell at Wobbuffet's back. "You'll pay for that–" She was then interrupted when a crescent blade made from water barely passed through her and cut through a nearby tree.

"Who dares!?" Malty exclaimed as she turned towards the culprit, who was none other than her younger sister.

"It's one thing to incapacitate Filo with an anti-transformation shackle, but I won't let you shoot that brave Pokémon in the back!" Melty proclaimed before she fired the spell once more. "Zweit Aqua Slash!"

Malty barely dodged the attack, which served to infuriate the treacherous princess.

"Looks like Mel isn't really defenseless." Chelsea remarked before she kicked a knight in the gut before striking him away with her hammer.

"I taught her a bit of magic myself." Merleo admitted before he shot down two knights with Zweit Holy. "To my surprise, she is a quick learner."

"Why you—! Zweit Hellfire!" Malty growled before she launched her own spell at Melty, which Naofumi effortlessly blocked.

But this action alone shocked the two Heroes.

"Hey, wait! Are you trying to kill Melty!?" Itsuki asked.

"She attacked first. So, I'm defending myself." Malty replied. "Zweit Hellfire! Zweit Fire Arrow!" She then unleashed two spells at once but they were all blocked by Naofumi.

"What are you doing!? Stop it now!" Ren shouted but the first princess simply ignored his words and simply drank a mana-recovery potion.

"To save her from Naofumi's brainwashing, she must die!" Malty proclaimed, dropping all pretense of "rescuing her beloved sister" before pelting Naofumi with consecutive Zweit Hellfire spells.

"Master Naofumi. Can I leave you with Mel a little bit? I'll be right back." Raphtalia stated.

"Sure." Her master gave her the green light as Raphtalia left to enact her plan. He then pulled out Quilladin's Poké Ball. "Let's try that new move. Come out, Quilladin!" He threw the Poké Ball into the air, causing the aforementioned Pokémon to come out.

"What's up, Shield Bro. I'm ready to help out!" Quilladin proclaimed.

"Bring down the hammer of justice!" Malty shouted as several knights with bow appeared by her side.

"Take aim, fire!" The knight said as he and other knights shot their arrows.

"Pin Missile, Quilladin!" Naofumi ordered.

"You got it!" The Grass type Pokémon complied as he launched the move at the arrows, though some managed to pass through.

"We'll help out!" Tyler said as he and Merleo shot any arrows that came into their way with Spread Shot and Zweit Holy respectfully.

Chelsea also helped out by having her Delphox burn the arrows to a crisp via Mystical Fire.

But then, they saw a huge fireball just spawned above them. They turned to see Malty, who was smirking at them. At her side was a few magicians that was able to avoid getting hit by Vivillon's Powder.

"That is not good." Merleo muttered.

Malty smirked, believing that she had the advantage. But little did she know, Raphtalia managed to sneak upon the treacherous princess.

"Not on my watch!" Raphtalia declared as she used her new Mana Sword to stabbed through Malty, which caused the spell that invokes the big fireball to cancel out.

Wobbuffet gulped in fear as he found himself surrounded by the knights. "Oh, man. I don't think I can take on this many." He muttered. 'I'd use Destiny Bond, but there's too many of them so…'

Fortunately, he was saved when Hydreigon and Golett break through the formation as they took down the knights that were ganging up on Wobbuffet.

"Hey, you okay?" Hydreigon asked him.

"A little bit." Wobbuffet said. "But how did you get here? Didn't you guys got surrounded?"

Golett simply pointed his finger to a direction behind him, where they could see the downed the knights.

"If they think they can take us down by numbers, then they were way in over their heads." Hydreigon boasted.

"Damn it! That dragon and that small golem is too strong for the knights!" Motoyasu said as he decided to take the matters into his own hands. But then…

"Hey, Spear Guy!" The naive Hero turned to see Filo, who lunged at him with one of her fists reared back. Also, she now have worn the new set of gauntlets that Elhart prepared for the party. "Take this!"

"Oh! Filo! I–Gaah!" The Hero was then punched across his face, sending him flying backwards and landed his back.

"All right, guys. Let's meet up with Naofumi!" Hydreigon told them as he grabbed Wobbuffet and then threw him on his back.

"Hey! Easy! Don't crash!" The Patient Pokémon said.

"Try not to move so much then. It makes flying difficult for me." The Dark and Dragon type Pokémon retorted.

Filo then assumed her Filolial Queen form before turning towards Golett. "Hop in. You saved me from that meanie and took that weird thing off of me, so I don't think you're on Spear Guy's side."

The Automaton Pokémon nodded as it got on Filo's back, which the latter then proceeded to head towards her master.

Naofumi and the others then saw Hydreigon and Filo approaching and finally meet up with them.

"All right, we're here." Hydreigon said as both him and Filo let the two wandering Pokémon get off from their backs.

"It looks things went well." Chelsea remarked.

"Men! Destroy the Shield Hero and his party! And seize those monsters that they had in their possesions!" They turned around and see that more reinforcements have appeared.

"You just had to say it, Chelsea." Delphox sighed, realizing that they had to deal with more of the knights.

"Hey, wait! Gaah!" Itsuki tried to call out the knights but he was ignored and was shoved by the shoulder.

"We're supposed to only rescue Princess Melty!" Ren attempted to call as well but the result was the same. 'They're forgetting what we're doing here! We came to save Myne's younger sister, but now those knights were serious on finishing Naofumi and his party along with catching those unique monsters. And it looks like Princess Melty will get caught in the crossfire! What is going on here!?'

"Time to test that move out! Use Rock Tomb, Quilladin!" Naofumi ordered.

"Let's go all-out! Draco Meteor them!" Tyler added before he turned towards Vivillon. "And Vivillon, you use Signal Beam!"

"Delphox, use Dazzling Gleam!" Chelsea added.

Multiple gray rocks outlined in orange energy form around Quilladin and it sends them flying towards the knight. A sphere of purple energy formed inside of Hydreigon's middle head mouth before he fired it into the sky, where it exploded and releases multiple purple-glowing meteors that is raining down towards the Malty and her loyalists. Vivillon fire a streaky pink beam with blue shapes from her antenna towards the knights. And lastly, Delphox's body becomes surrounded in a field of rainbow-colored energy, which expand outwards and hit the knights.

The knights were taken down and blown away by the combined power of the moves, save for only Malty and the other Cardinal Heroes. But the attack destroyed the bridge that was standing between the party and Malty's forces.

"Those attacks are pretty strong when combined." Ren commented as he was done taking cover. "Naofumi, wait!"

"Here!" Naofumi threw something, which landed near the Sword Hero's feet. It was the Church of the Three Heroes' rosary. "You're the smart one, Ren. You can figure out what was really happening here!" As he said that, he and his party wasted no time to leave the area.

"What was really happening…?" Ren repeated as he picked up the rosary. 'Isn't this…'

"Damn! That Devil, his party, and Melty got away!" The blue clad Hero snapped out as he saw Malty growled, frustrated that they have escaped her.

It was then Ren became very suspicious to Malty's behavior. 'Did she actually tried to kill her own sister…?' He pondered as he kept a watchful eye on Malty.

That's about it.

As if it wasn't very obvious from the previous chapter, the Golett is a 100% Shiny Pokémon. A reference from Black—Victini and Reshiram movie where Golurk is the Shiny Pokémon instead of Hydreigon.

The Moves Editor and how TMs can be created called back to the recents games. I think you know which features came from.
