Percy POV:
After asking Dumbledore to help me construct a hut near the forest, similar to Hagrid's but more cottagey, and asking Hecate to change the circumstances of our arrangement to having Annabeth stay with me. I decided that it would be high time to see what the forest was all about. So here I was an hour later walking through a forest that looks as if it hasn't seen civilization in hundreds of years. The trees stood tall and looming above me like ancient giants. I could hear the distant sounds of creatures throughout the entire forest. Though whenever I walked towards the sound whatever was making it would flee from me in terror.
"Gods be damned this is just annoying. McGonagall said that there was and overgrowth of dangerous and nonnative creatures in this stinking forest." I say to myself in frustration. I woke up antsy and one of the best ways to clear my energy is to either fight something or go on a run. I wanted the first option, but the magical creatures seem to disagree with me.
"You know Godling, they are afraid of you. They likely won't show themselves unto you anytime soon." A voice called out within the forest.
"Why? I mean I have fought things before… never mind I think I know why now." I told the voice as I placed its source coming to the right of me. I tensed my muscles getting ready to defend myself at a moment's notice. A centaur stepped into full view along with twelve others and each of them had bows pointed at me and drawn. Suddenly one of them let an arrow loose pointed at my heart. Adrenaline pumped in my head as the world did the usual slowing down when I am in life-or-death situations. I reached out and grabbed the arrow out of the air inches from my chest and snapped it in half. I one flued motion I took out Riptide and shoved it into the chest of the centaur that shot me. Instead of him turning into golden dust like he should he remained unharmed when I pulled my blade away.
"Your mortal." I stated plainly to the horse men around me who for some confusing reason put there bows away when they saw me stab one of their own.
"Sorry for us attacking you. We had to be sure you are in fact a demigod and not just a wizard with an unusually powerful object." The centaur that greeted me spoke as his friend that I stabbed stared at his unharmed chest in wonder.
"Its okay if I hated everyone who attempted to kill me, I would hate most of my family and then some." I told him though still weary of my would-be killers.
"How am I not dead. You stabbed me!" the centaur that I stabbed asked slightly freaked out.
"Don't mind him he is just barely out of his colt stage of life. He is still young and doesn't know all the myths about your kind." The lead horse apologized for his outburst.
"Don't you guys hate humans?" I asked remembering what Harry told me about his time in the forbidden forest.
"We hate wizards yes. But you are no wizard godling and from the shirt you wear and the weapon you wield you are Greek. Yes?" I nod when he asked me this, not sure how that has to do with anything. "Greeks have always been kind to our race and defended the rights our people have. In fact, it's the main reason why the Second Great Wizard Massacre happened." He told me dropping a huge truth bomb.
"Second Great Massacre? What the hades is that?" I asked them confused.
"The Second Great Wizard Massacre is a war that was sparked when your people found out what was happening to our people in wizard territory. You guys grew angry at the wizards and demanded they stop and pay us in our due payment. The wizard's pride would not let them listen to you guys however and a war broke out between your two people. However, the wizards seemed to forget that the people they declared war on were half god and the battles were not actual battles. They were massacres for every one demigod was worth a hundred of them and Hecate watching this decided to separate the two races. Using the mist Hecate caused the mortals to forget and ordered the demigods to not interact with the wizarding world. After some time, due to the lack of need to pass down the information about the wizarding world you guys forgot about them as well." The centaur paused, staring at me after giving me the history lesson.
"So, wizard pride versus demigod anger is not a good combination. Got it." I told the centaur with a grin. "One question though why doesn't my sword affect you guys?"
Apparently, it was because the centaurs the wizards know about are not the same ones I am used to. First, they are more serious and definitely love the stars more but those were not the main differences between the two groups. The party ponies and the wild centaurs that attack the romans are called divine centaurs. They are connected to the Greco-Roman pantheon making them effectively immortal. Every time one dies, they just reform in Tartarus and crawl out. The wizarding ones however just die and enter Hade's realm this is because their lineage while descended from the divine ones have lost their divine side after thousands of years. This is true for all creatures in the wizarding world. Probably why they were so afraid of me. They could sense me using their magic and the remaining traits they got from their ancestors but instead of getting hungry for my flesh they got scared. They knew I am the bigger fish in this ocean not them. We began to walk towards there camp since the centaurs wished to speak with me.
"I wonder how Chiron would react to you guys." I stated to my half equestrian friends causing them all to stop in their tracks.
"What? I got something in my teeth?" I asked them trying to figure out why we suddenly stopped.
"You know Chiron!" The youngest centaur who I now know is named Baneron.
"Yeah?... Why? He's mine and the rest of the Greek hero's teacher."
"Ohh. Yeaaah." He states still looking like he is a deer caught in the headlights.
With that I started walking in the direction we had been going for awhile not really knowing where I am headed but hoping my guides get over their collective shock.
After about half an hour of walking we entered a large clearing of trees that housed a village with large tents made of animal hide that easily fit the any centaur. Young folly's ran around attempting to tag one another as adult centaurs trotted around the camp doing various chores and tasks. Once everyone saw me though it got eerily quit as everyone stopped what they were doing to follow me.
"Young godling what are you doing here? Your kind haven't gazed upon these woods in centuries." An older centaur with darker hair spoke to me.
"My name is Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon. I have come here to help stop Voldemort from taking over the mortal world." I told the Centaur looking him straight in his eyes.
"Welcome Percy, I am Magorian and I am the Alpha Mare of this herd." The older centaur told me.
"Hello Magorian as the new Groundskeeper for Hogwarts how can I be of assistance to you and your herd?" I asked him which prompted a surprised look to flash across his features.
"Our biggest worry is Voldemort. It is written in the stars that if he were to win our people won't last much longer." Magorian told me in a serious voice.
"I mean anything besides what I am already doing. I heard you guys have a problem with jackasses that wield small wooden sticks and can't keep their nose out of other people's business? I can deal with them after I take out nose less baldy and his band miscreants" I told the horse people who have surrounded me.
"I don't mean any disrespect Percy. But even a godling can't take on the entire wizarding race alone." Spoke a still very much excited Baneron.
I grinned at the young centaur I asked him "who says I'm alone?"
Harry POV:
Hogwarts was in a stir. Almost no one knew this Percy Jackson, but he came in with unbridled power and became the talk of the castle. Many thought he was terrifying, others thought he was attractive, and even more were unsure of him. The first years absolutely adored him. The teachers are constantly annoyed by him and if the rumor about what he did with the first years was anything to go by it's not hard to see why. The thing that confused everyone who is not an Order of the Phoenix member is why he doesn't have a wand, he doesn't do 'traditional magic', and he doesn't wear wizarding clothes. He was an oddity that have started waves in the wizarding world that most of the order members have started to fear might bite us in the arse later. Percy has zero respect for rudeness, authority figures, power, social norms, or anything else he sees as oppressive. Malfoy actively hates him and Umbridge not even a week into the school year has started a war with him. One he is definitely winning if the previously pink now sea blue office of Umbridge was anything to go by.
"Harry, Ron Dumbledore asked me to let you guys know that the first lessons with Percy is on Saturday after breakfast." Hermione's voice called out to me and my red-haired best friend at breakfast. Percy swiftly became a mentor of mine, Ron's, and Hermione during his stay at Grimwald Place. He knows exactly what to say when you are down. Already I could hear his words bouncing around in my head whenever I got annoyed at Hermione, Ron, or Dumbledore about my situation. His lessons, however, did not stop me from being irritated at Umbridge causing her to give me detention after I didn't back down about how Voldemort was back. I also may or may not have token a page out of Percy's book and called her a fat toad that should go back to the minister and kiss him on his arse. That won me a month's detention and a laughing Percy who clasped me on my back and congratulated me. Worth it.
So that's how I found myself in Umbridge's office after supper one night staring at Umbridge as I stubbornly carved 'I shall not tell lies and call people names' over and over onto a piece of parchment as I felt warm sticky blood incase my arm.
"Now dear, did you learn your lesson." Umbridge asked in her sickeningly sweet voice. Remembering how Percy had sassed her till she stormed up to the headmaster's office to try to get him fired, I swallowed the pain and built my courage.
"Now Delorise I mustn't tell lies." I told the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor staring directly into her eyes. I ended up getting back to the Gryffindor dormitory after 2 for that one.
"Harry, Harry wake up we got to go meet Percy by the forbidden forest!" shrieked the stressed Hermione shaking me awake. I got hurriedly dressed and ran out of the Gryffindor common room. Ron grabbed a bit of toast from breakfast for me to eat.
"We couldn't wake you up sooner. How come you were so tired this morning?" asked a running Ron beside me.
"The Toad kept me after for longer than she should, and she gave me this." I hissed back at him as I showed him my arm.
"Blimy Harry. You should tell Dumbledore he will kick Umbridge out for this!" yelled an angry Ron.
"No. Dumbledore couldn't stop Umbridge for getting hired here and it will take a lot more than this to kick her out." I responded to Ron as I covered up my injury. Ron still looked like he wanted to murder her, but he dropped it when we neared a small group of students that consisted of Luna, Nevile, the Weasley twins, and Ginny by the black lake near to the beginning of the forbidden forest.
"Harry, Hermione, Ron! What took you guys so long" the younger redhead asked us.
"We are just running late today Ginny" a panting Hermione informed the youngest Weasley.
"Were is Percy?" I asked no one in particular.
"I just took a swim." The bone-dry Hogwarts Groundskeeper said as he ascended from the surface of the lake. Most of us just stared at him, even though we have seen this before it still takes some getting used to, as Neville looked baffled that Percy is dry.
"I am not the best at magic so I brought a friend who has been helping me with my magical education and I figured that she would be of some help to you guys as well…" Percy informed our small ragtag group of students. Gesturing behind him he continued "…this way folks." Then preceded to just walk straight into the lake. Seeing no better option, I decided to just follow the half mad demigod. Closing my eyes, I expected the fridged water of the lake to soak my shoes. However, when I stepped into the squishy mud that makes up the bottom of the lake, I felt no water. Opening my eyes and looking down I noticed the water recede from my foot by about a meter. Gaining confidence, I ran up to Percy as the water around me shot away from me forming a bubble as I submerged below the water. Trusting my friends followed me since I could not see very far in the dark murky water. After about a half hour of walking we came across a small dark entrance to what looked to be an underwater cave. I crossed the threshold and immediately all the water around me disappeared as we entered a huge cavern about the same size as the Triwizard tournament stadium. Large stone stalactites and stalagmites littered the floor and ceiling of the cavernous system. Standing in the center of the large space was a scrawny kid, only slightly older than us. He was pale enough that if it wasn't for him actively moving around, I would assume him to be a corpse. He had a black aviator jacket over a black shirt that said 'Living discussed me the dead intrigue me we are not the same' with a picture of a white skull.
The second person looked eerily similar to Hecate with black curly hair and bright purple eyes. She wore more wizard appropriate clothing with black robes with purple highlights. Immediately I knew these two other figures were demigods because of the power and fear they radiated into the room. Each of them had a distinct aura emitting from them that all swirled together throughout the room that caused my senses to get confused and the headache started to pound. Each demigod looked creepy in the dark lighting with their glowing eyes that seemed to burrow into your soul.
"Here eat this it helps me and my siblings when we first started using more powerful divine spells." The girl said to us before handing each of us what looks to be Carmel wrapped in foil.
"It's not ambrosia. It just has a potion that helps the mortal body handle large amounts of divine magic." The girl told us when she saw our hesitation.
"What is going on? Who are you guys?" asked a frightened Neville and I realized Neville has no idea what is happening. Percy guided the startled Neville and Luna to the back of the cavernous room which left us alone with the other two demigods.
"I am Nico. This is Lou and we are friends of Percy. We are also here to help train you guys in combat." The pale kid told us.
"Nico is here to help summon his friends when we need the practice and I am here to teach you guys magic since my mom is your patron goddess. I don't know where Percy ties into this, but I am assuming he might teach you non wizarding ways of defense." Lou added on.
