Prologue

3rd pov

It was a nice day. The birds were singing, the flowers were blooming. On days like this people would be… falling out of the sky? In the air was a boy maybe around the age 19, free falling to the ground with a girl on his back who held an emotionless face even though she was falling. The boy didn't even know what to think as he plummeted towards the ground, his mind was still in an emotional whirlwind from two weeks prior. He looked like an average guy, but that doesn't matter. What mattered was the gauntlet on him that looked oddly like a dragon's claw.

The boy never noticed that he was going closer to the ground, as he replayed the events that led him to this point. His name? Issei Hyoudou.

Two weeks prior. 3rd pov.

It was already a bad day for Issei even before he came home. He had arrived home later due to having just come home with a couple of bruises courtesy of the Kendo club, who got him but not Matsuda or Motohama. And he wasn't even peeking!

Bruises aside, there was another thing on his mind. His harem (A/N who I'm also taking a swing to the fence on who is in it) was acting distant with him, and he wondered if he had done anything. Rias and Akeno both were off at college and rarely ever at home, Asia was busy being the new club president for the ORC and Xenovia with the Student council (Which he would never ask her how she got it). Kuroka and Koneko were with Yasaka helping her with something, Rossweisse was with Odin.

But the ones that started ringing alarm bells were Ravel and Irina, both of who just straight up ignored him most of the time. The two responses were always the same any time they did meet. It's either ' I have to go.' or ' Sorry Issei maybe some other time.' Issei was suspicious but wasn't confident enough to act on it, so he let it go. He had planned on going to the college both Rias and Akeno were attending tomorrow, so he would worry about this afterwards. This was a huge mistake on his part however.

Line break. Issei's pov

'Whew, what a workout!' I thought after coming back into my room. Me and Ddraig decided to practice with my balance breaker and also test out some new moves we came up with. 'What time is it?' I say looking at the alarm. It read 1 : 30. 'FUCK! I gotta hurry up! I told them I would be there at 2!' I quickly ran to the bathroom, took a shower, and then sprinted out of the house trying to reach the college on time.

Timeskip. 10 mins later

"Ah ah… made it, and with 15 minutes to spare." I panted out.

[Great job partner.] The familiar voice of Ddraig spoke into my mind.

"Thanks." I said. "Hey question. Why did you go silent during training earlier?" I asked him just now, realizing that he had now spoken after almost two hours.

[ Sorry partner was just… thinking about something.] Ddraig seemed a little nervous for whatever reason. [ Hey, shouldn't you be going to visit your mates? You know the ones right in front of you?]

Huh? Oh he's right! Both Akeno and Rias were walking into a building just a few feet away from me. "Thanks Ddraig!" Thanking Ddraig I take off to follow. When I entered through the door I caught a weird scent in the air, but waved it off. I followed the two wondering where they were going, when I finally decided to make my presence known they both stopped at a door.

'What are they doing?' I thought watching as they knocked on the door, which soon opened to a guy that looked a little older than me. He welcomed them into his room. I didn't even bother thinking, I just sprintied in while the door was still ajar and hid myself in the corner of the room. Again a strange smell crashed into my nose, this time was way WAY stronger than before.

Quick pov change to Ddraig

[ 'Wait this smell!? No no no no no! I must warn him!' ] Ddraig thought, now realizing the smell that was wafting into Issei's nose and what permeated through the room. [ Partner! Partner, can you hear me!? Get nooo… I'm too late.] Ddraig stopped trying to reach out to Issei as the one thing that he feared was happening. Both Rias and Akeno were both busy having 'fun' with this strange man and Issei was standing there silent, an emotionless mask on his face.

Pov switch back to Issei

I sat in the corner of the room making sure that they couldn't see me. I thought this guy would be like some type of tutor or maybe they had some type of group project. I was proven wrong almost instantly.

" Kenny~ It's been so long~" Akeno purred out to the newly named Kenny. The guy blushed as Akeno pushed him down and straddled him. " Have you been thinking about me?" Akeno rubbed herself on the guy.

" I ah y-yeah." Kenny couldn't really move as he was being pinned by the sadistic fallen angel. Rias made her move then.

"Akeno! Get off of MY Kenny!" Rias pushed Akeno off of Kenny and she was the one now straddling Kenny. "You got to learn what's yours, Akeno!"

I was silent. I was mad, I was sad. But most of all I felt betrayed.

"Now now Rias, I think Kenny here can handle both of us~, Right Kenny?" Akeno had her shirt off and showed off her exposed chest to Kenny.

" I uh… yeah?" It came out as more of a question than an actual answer from Kenny. Then the girls and Kenny proceeded to have 'fun', but I didn't care. Without a sound I left the room and fled off the campus.

Time skip

I ran, that's all I could do. By the time I stopped running I was at a fountain, but not just any fountain. It was the same one that I died next to with Raynare. I was tempted to just lie down and process all of which just happened, but I knew I couldn't; I knew what I saw and knew what happened. I heard voices heading towards me, so I went around until I was on the other side of the fountain; I wouldn't want anyone seeing me in my broken mess of a state right now. As the voices grew stronger I recognized them.

It was Ravel, Irina, Xenovia, and Asia. All of them were walking past the fountain talking. Now I'm not the noisiest person, but when you haven't spoken to your girlfriends (Or boyfriends for all you ladies out there) for a long time you kind start to wonder what's going on.

"So how did your date with Tim go, Irina?" Xenovia asked, and with that my mood and face fell even farther than before. And the following conversation only made it worse.

"Great! He was such a romantic guy, giving me gifts, taking me to the movies…" Irina sighed, having a dreamy look on her face.

I was crushed, seeing the face of my childhood friend, who I loved and have started dating, have a total dreamy look on her face about talking about another man… I felt my heart crack.

"He's perfect~. Hey, what about Toji? You two seem to be kicking it off." Irina asked her questions hurled towards Xenovia.

Xenovia held up a picture of the two at some type of fair sharing a big thing of cotton candy. "As you can see it's going pretty well."

*Crack*

And just as I thought it couldn't get a little bit worse it did. " Tom is way better than any of your boyfriends! While he is a commoner, at least he is a cute one!" Ravel had a smug look on her face with a hint of pink on her cheeks.

*Crack*

Then there was Asia, who was quiet and shifting her feet uncomfortable. She had been silent the whole time. "Asia, are you ok?" Irina asked, noticing the nervous look on the blonde.

"I-it's just, what about Issei?" Asia asked nervously. I let a smile trace my lips before it immediately fell.

"Tch, c'mon Asia!" Xenovia scoffed "Be real here for a second, are you really asking because you care for the pervert or are you trying to say that don't enjoy Jerry's company." She teased, causing Asia to blush.

*Crack*

Even Asia, huh? Guess that just settles it. All I was for these girls was a toy.

Rias probably only took interest in me due to me having Ddraig and only acted as my savior when I died so that I could be a loyal little puppy to her. And here I was helplessly in love with her, only to be thrown away.

I was just a toy to Akeno, someone who she could just tease mercilessly. Xenvoia was the same as Rias, only she wanted to have powerful offspring. Ravel probably just used me for the popularity of being the red dragon's manager for everything political.

It was Irina' and Asia that hurt the most though.

Asia because it was me who saved her, begged Rias to revive her as a devil, and treated her as a little sister ever step off the way. I lost myself to juggernaut drive to her when I thought she had died, and this is what I get in return?

Irina, who was my childhood friend, the one I could almost always count on to have my back. My friend who is literally an angel, angels that supposedly were to protect, guide, and help those in need but does she do any of that? I'm surprised she hasn't fallen yet.

Without a word I left, making sure the girls couldn't see me or hear me, I left to go home. But it wouldn't be my home much longer I suppose…

By the time I returned home it was roughly 4 : 30, I was gone for roughly two hours. I went into my room and was going to sleep for a minute before the same smell that I caught from Kenny's room permeated throughout the room. There were other smells too, smells that were latched on to Asia, Irina, Xenovia, and Ravel.

'T-they've… HAVE THEY BEEN BRINGING THEM TO MY ROOM?!' I screamed mentally. I searched the room to try and see if I could find evidence of this. Low and behold, guess what I found under a well placed bag full of clothes... used condoms. I kept looking and found more, with each and everyone of the girls scent on them.

'Those those… WHORES!' forget livid, forget angry. I was down right furious. Not only had they been cheating on me, but they had also been having sex behind my back!

[ Partner calm down, please! ] The voice of Ddraig tried to calm me down, but I didn't hear him

In my livid state I had never noticed that my body was starting to ache or that green spots were starting to form on my arm. A heard the sound of a book dropping, turning my head towards the book. I notice that it's not actually a book, but rather a diary. I noticed that the book's title said ' Rias's diary. Do not touch!'. I honestly couldn't care for the last part, besides I was too pissed off not to read in hopes of finding the reason started all this.

The book had the events spanning from now to way back to when it seems that Rias was around maybe 15 ish. What caught my attention is that she has chapters and one of the chapters was labeled ' I found the answer to my problem!'. The reason it caught my attention is the date was around the same time I had first seen Rias.

The beginning went something like this… 3rd pov

I can't believe it! I found one, a sacred gear user; and from the power that was hidden within him it should be a strong one! The boy's name was Issei Hyoudou, a part of the perverted trio in my school. He is a mega pervert, but that might work to my advantage. All I have to do is seduce or entice him into joining my peerage, it's not like he's going to refuse the hottest girl in Kuoh.

[ 'This little bitch was trying to manipulate MY partner from the very beginning!' ] Ddraig thought. [ wait… where did that come from…] The welsh dragon was a lot more confused on why his tone shifted suddenly when hearing what Rias had planned to do to his partner. He would question it later but for now he listened on.

Day 2

Ok it's been two days ever since I have seen Hyoudo and from the looks of it, the sacred gear he has is draconic in nature so that's good. There has become an underlying problem with those fallen angels roaming around Kuoh, it's only a matter of time before they find him. I can't let my only ticket to my freedom be taken away by a bunch of random fallen angels! No, I must approach him soon…

Day 3

Fuck! It's just like I thought would happen! Those stinking crows had found about Issei's gear or at the very least suspected something. And now they've sent a female fallen to seduce Issei, which worked since not only do they have a date on sunday, the damn fallen had the balls to show up at school!

She reeked of lust and the report Koneko gave me made it all the more worse. It seems that the fallen and her group were sent here to find and report any strong sacred gears back to their HQ. But not to worry, I've got a plan. All I need to do is stop the date… no actually there is a better option.

Instead of stopping the date, I'll alter it. That girl has the intention of seducing and capturing Issei's heart, but I just need to change that.

"Change… what change?" Issei's mind was warping trying to figure out what she meant. " Ddraig, what do you think?" He asked his partner.

[ Hmm… ] Ddraig was also curious on what the gremory bitch had changed. Until it hit him like a train. [ Partner, during the date with the fallen what happened. To be specific, at the end.] The question sent Issei back to a memory he thought he was past.

'Will you die for me?'

Issei's breath started to get heavier and heavier as it repeated in his head like a loop. The memory was made worse thanks to the fact of the situation he was in.

[ Partner! Calm down!] Ddraig had never seen his partner like this and honestly couldn't stand seeing him like this. [ Nevermind, trying to tell me; just calm down!] Issei's breath evened out slowly, until he was just standing making sure the voice of Raynare faded out.

"Sorry, you had to see that Ddraig." Issei apologized to his friend. "Just… bad memories. Why does that actually matter though?"

[ More than you might think. If what she is implying is true, then I think your master has been playing us like a fiddle this entire time…] Ddraig said growing serious. Deciding to see what Ddraig was talking about, Issei started reading again.

Day 4

It worked… IT WORKED! My plan had worked! Thank satan that the stupid crow fell for something as simple as a mind altering trick! And the ending was perfect, just according to the plan, which was a simple 'become the savior at the last second' act, but hey! It worked, and now I have a potentially strong sacred gear user under my thumb!

All that is left is to just keep him in line, then train him so that way I finally have a way to get rid of my arranged marriage! My motivations to help him along should be easy, he is a naturally born pervert after all.

Line break. Issei pov

She lied to me…

She used me…

I was just a toy, a shiny toy that she could play with until she got bored. I thought she was my savior, a person I could trust… my lover.

Was that all a lie? It couldn't because I saw it happen today, and I just read about what she herself wrote. She toyed with me since the very beginning.

It was never Raynare's fault that I was scared of women, it was Rias, the manipulator behind it all…

No more… I won't take it anymore.

"Ddraig, I need you to do something." I say calling out to my partner.

[ Yes, Issei?] Ddraig responded back.

" I'm going to remove the pieces from my body, but I will most likely die." I tell him as I put a hand over my chest. "When I do, I'm going to leave a message, then teleport out of Kuoh. Once I do, will you start the dragonification process?"

[Wha- partner! Are you sure? There might not even be a chance of you surviving!] Ddraig was not just going to let his partner go with what was basically a suicide option without at least trying to convince him other wise.

"No, I'm sure." I said before concentrating on my pawn pieces before yelling "PURGE!"

With those words all eight pawn pieces flew out of my body before landing on the ground. All the pieces were dark and had cracks everywhere. "*Grk!*" My body shudders violently as I spit out at least three globs of blood onto the floor, I wouldn't last long if I wasn't fast. So with that thought in my mind, I left a message for the others to see once they return before making a magic circle and teleporting out of Kuoh.

Timeskip one hour.

It had been an hour since I had left my 'home', and now was in a cave sitting down and leaning on the cave wall behind me. I had seen green spots covering my body and from what Ddraig told me, it's something called ' Dragon's Fall'. An illness that can only happen if a dragon's mate betrays them.

( A/N. My definition of dragon fall is going to be sort of like they don't actually have to mate or have sex to be counted as a dragon's mate, just have to confess love to one another or have a mate mark. )

So yeah, the already low chance of me dying has increased by a lot now. I was still going to go through with it, I have too.

"Ddraig, you ready?" I asked him.

[ Yes.] Ddraig responded.

And just as I was getting ready to tell him to begin, a voice called out.

" Issei?" I turned around at the voice. The person talking looked like a child that went full gothic. She stared blankly at him with her black eyes. She looked human aside from the elvish ears, but no one would bat an eye at it. But her power was something to be feared, even if she was technically at half strength she could easily destroy most of the world if she pleased. This person was Ophis.

"Ophis? What are you doing here?" I said to her weakly. She doesn't respond but instead chooses to walk over and sit next to me.

"Issei is sick." Is all she said. She always was the blunt one I suppose. "Why are you sick?" Ophis asked, pointing at the green spots that practically littered my body.

"Very… but I'm going to get better I promise." I knew that was a lie. There is a very high chance that I'm going to die, and won't see her again.

" I want to help Issei get better." Ophis said. Then Ophis stood up and closed her eyes.

"Ophis?" My vision was starting to get blurry, I was going to lose consciousness soon and possibly die if I didn't start the dragonification.

Ophis body started to change until in front of me was a completely new person. She looked like a version of Ophis around my age, with her black hair down to her hips, black eyes that stared deeply at me. She had a massive bust compared to that of Akeno's, but the same blank, almost innocent look on her face like she always had.

" I will help Issei." She said before crouching down next to my body. She leaned her head next to my neck and then…

*Nom*

She bit into my neck. I would ask her why but my body had other plans. Instead of feeling pain, I felt a compulsion to do the same to her. So with whatever little strength I had left, I lifted myself up and bit into her neck. But would be the last thing I do, as then I drift off into unconsciousness.

Pov Ddraig.

When Issei's eyes rolled into his head I panicked. I thought I was too late to save him, because he needs to be awake for the process. That was until I remembered there was another person here, Ophis.

[ Ophis! Can you help him?!]

The dragon of infinity was quiet, I was scared that she wouldn't even though she herself said she would. Ophis calmly held out a hand and pressed it on Issei's chest. Her hand started to glow and was starting to spread around Issei.

"Red lizard." Ophis started talking. Is she talking about me? "Red lizard, fuse my power with yours." Where did she get that name from?

Figuring that it would be best to question it later, I let my power flow through Issei's body intertwining with Ophis's power, watching as it swept through Issei and formed a large orb that completely covered him.

[ Ophis, may I ask a question? ] I asked Ophis, who only nodded. [ Why did you mate mark my partner?] The question wasn't supposed to come out like it did, but I felt that burning feeling of jealousy run through me.

Ophis was silent before a small smile made its way on her face. " I've wanted to do this for the longest, but felt that it was never time. He makes me want something other than silence."

I was skeptical. Maybe it had something to do with everything going on, but I didn't trust her. Then again, a dragon's mate mark is something that can't be ignored so I'll trust her… for now.

"I have a question for you though, Red lizard." I got to figure out where she got that nickname. "Have you told Issei that you are female?"

[?!] The hell is she spouting! I'm not a female! I'm a proud, noble MALE dragon! [ Ophis! I'll have you know that I am a MALE and not a female first off! Second off, where did you even get such a large claim!?]

Ophis looked at me, her face unreadable. Then she smirked before raising her hand and a small snake lunged at me, sunk into the boosted gear, then into my head. Images flashed through my head, or more accurately they were memories. Memories that I had forgotten, ones that confirmed to me that I truly was a female dragon.

"Red lizard came to me for help, and I helped. Now I want to help Issei." Ophis says before she cuddles up against the orb that surrounded Issei, signaling the end of our conversation.

As for me… well I had a while to digest everything, so that was the main plan. But one question I really wanted to know is… [ Why was Issei the one to get me to recognize or at least make me question if I was a female?]

I only thought it was just because of his pervertedness, but… I can tell it's something else and I want to know what.

Fast forward to three hours before the present. Issei pov

Waking up to the sight of something around me was… weird to say the least. I felt different, but also more aware of things like my surroundings. I could hear birds outside the cave chirping, a deer rustling through the forest, and a cute snore coming from my right. Yeah this was new.

Wait… a cute snore?

Turning around I saw the body of Ophis, leaning on whatever was around me and had this tiny line of drool down her face. Smiling at the adorableness of Ophis, I looked for a way out of this thing. Luckily for me Ophis woke up.

"Hmm?" Ophis moved away from the thing surrounding me and yawned. "Issei is awake." She said a small smile gracing her lips.

"Hey Ophis. Uh, what's this thing?" I say pointing at the obvious thing around me.

"I wanted to help Issei. So I had Red lizard help too." She stared blankly while tracing a finger over the thing covering me. The thing started to crack little by little and Ophis was standing in front of it now smiling. "Issei is almost done."

"Done with what?" I asked, before I remembered the entire reason she was here and I was in this cave. "The dragonfiction is done once this… orb cracks?"

"Yes." Ophis said, watching as the cracks on the orb spread more and more.

"Wait, who's Red lizard?" I asked her.

[ She would be talking about me partner.] Ddraig materialized onto my hand. [ Don't ask her where she got it from.] I sighed and just watched as the orb started cracking even more. After five minutes the orb shattered.

The air contained in the orb was finally released, the cave seemed to utter a huge sigh as bats and any other animal you would find in a cave scurried out of the cave in a hurry.

"So what now? I'm not going back there, but I don't really have a plan." I wonder what I would do in the meantime. Ophis walked towards me and hugged me without a word, and since she was basically my height, I got to feel her new larger 'assets' to put it lightly. "Uh, Ophis… not that I don't mind, but could you move?"

Ophis got this sad look on her face, as I just told her dog died. "Does Issei hate me?" She genuinely looked like she was about to cry.

"No no! I don't hate you Ophis." I said hugging her, this time not caring for the large assets that pressed into my chest this time around. I felt strangely protective over Ophis, like if someone were to even look at her wrong I was gonna get angry quickly. "Just confused… is all. I think all I need might be a break."

Ophis was quiet. We sat there in silence for about 10 minutes until Ophis had an interesting suggestion.

"Issei, I have an idea." Ophis said backing up. Ophis made a magic circle and looked at me. "Issei, me, and Red lizard are going on a break." And with that Ophis grabbed me as the magic circle rose up. Where we arrived was the dimensional gap.

Timeskip

It's been 20 minutes since the three of us have been in the dimensional gap, and Ophis still won't tell where we are going. Well that was until a huge presence made itself known, and I don't mean by magic either.

"Baka Red." Ophis said annoyingly. Yep, the strongest dragon in the world is right in front of us. The dragon seemed annoyed, if the twitch on his eyes is any indication.

"Brat…" Great red said "Would you mind telling this one to stop hitting me?" I was confused on who he was talking about, but then a little girl who looked like Ophis appeared on top of great red's head. She had a pony tail and unlike Ophis, she had some tips of blue in her hair. This of course was Lilith.

"No… no I don't think I will." Ophis smiled, before a smile came across her face. "Actually, I could ask her."

"Please brat. She is quite annoying." Great red said as Lilith whacked him on the head. "Quit it out!" He tried to shake her off, but Lilith held firm. Lilith kept hitting him on the head, and he would keep trying to shake her off only to fall; rinse and repeat. The whole situation was comedy at it's best and Great red's reactions in trying to get someone smaller than him off were hilarious.

Then Great Red said the magic words, " Get her off! I'll do anything!" and just like that, I think Ophis just won, given how wide her smile was now.

"Anything?" Ophis asked with a smirk plastered on her face. I was a little surprised by the amount of emotions Ophis showed. Why? She never shows any in the first place!

"Yes! Now get her to stop!" Great Red looked like he was genuinely going to cry. I felt kinda bad for the guy… er dragon. Having to deal with Lilith constantly hitting him 24/7 would cause anyone to lose it over time. Lilith eventually got off Great Red and floated next to us. Lilith stared at me, just staring for some reason.

Meanwhile Ophis was approaching Great Red with the biggest smile that has ever been on her face before. "Baka red said he would do anything to stop Lilith, so he must listen to my request."

"What is it that you want then?" Bak- I mean Great Red asked.

Ophis held up three fingers. "Baka red opens a portal to a different dimension." She let down one finger, "Baka red must be ready to open the portal again when we are ready." She let another finger down leaving just her middle finger up, sassy. "Baka red must send anyone who ask to join us to us, except for certain people." Ophis finished.

Those last two words caught my attention. Who was she talking about? Apparently Great Red had the same question. "Who are these 'certain people' you talk about? And why does i-" Great Red was caught of by a harsh glare and a snake that launched itself at his head.

"That will tell you who those people are. And as for why it matters…" Ophis said emotionlessly. She floated back towards me and reached for my arm sleeve and pulled it up. "This is why." My arm still had maybe two or three marks left from the effects of dragon fall on it.

"I see…" Great Red said his voice now surprisingly low and dangerous. Great Red turned his head to look at me. "I am sorry young hatchling for what you had to go through."

The pieces clicked. 'So that is who she meant by certain people.'

"No, It's fine… I just need a break I guess you could say." I told him. Great Red just stared at me before turning and roaring. The roar caused a tear into the Gap.

"That's your exit." Great Red then flew away. Ophis dragged me towards the portal before turning to Lilith. They seemed to have a silent conversation as Lilith followed after Great Red. Ophis turned back to me.

"Are you ready?" Ophis asked with a tilt of her head. I let my body take control and pulled her into a kiss. It wasn't a bad kiss, way more passionate than I thought it would be. But Ophis seemed strangely comfortable with the sensation.

"Ready." I told her. Ophis hopped onto my back and then we went into the tear as it closed behind us.

And now we're back to the present. ( Told ya this was a long one.) Still Issei pov

[ Partner!] The voice of Ddraig snapped me out of my trance. [Finally! Now not to alarm you, but we are kinda of plummeting towards the ground!]

'Shit!' The ground was approaching faster and faster by the second. I tried concentrating on my wings and felt them pop out. I managed to stop us from crashing and gently sat us down on the ground. I turned back to look at Ophis to make sure she was ok.

"You ok Ophis?" She only nodded her head. I also took the time to notice that I had two pairs of wings instead of one, both draconic in nature. I looked around and noticed we had landed in some type of a forest. "I guess we should find a nearby town." I told Ophis who only pointed in a certain direction.

"There is a town that way." Ophis says before leaning completely onto my back. " I will take a nap on Issei." And with that Ophis fell asleep. I only smiled and walked in the direction that Ophis pointed towards. I wondered what awaited me in this new world.

Ok here on some new some quick story notes:

Yes, it is the whole 'Issei gets betrayed', but I've always found these types of stories interesting; that might be because my first story of fanfiction was a Issei betrayed story, so that may be biased from me.

Issei is gonna be very cold to women in general, with a few exceptions. Not to say he will just lash out at random, but he will not like any sort of contact that is akin to love, sex, or sometimes just physical contact; but he still will most definitely get aggressive real quick without either Ophis or Ddraig's support. Again there will be a few exceptions, and obviously as the story goes on he will go back to a somewhat normal state

Also this takes place somewhere before the Azazel cup, Though this is a fair warning that I have NO CLUE what happens in the manga, since I have never read it myself. I'm basically just going off of what little recap, or reading on google, or the wiki to go by, just a heads up. Though because of that, the time he spends here will only be this chapter and only maybe like a couple of chapters down the road.
