The sky, an infinite clarity of golden hue as the fiery eye of heaven descended on the horizon reflected in her voids of elegant aquamarine; the spring wind gusted warmly, swirling her beachy waves with intensities of ocean blue fading at the ends to a soft lavender tone, she was a flower in a high peak — something out of someone's reach.
On the rooftop of the school grounds, her dead orbs cast a vexed glare at the senior bowing down his head of indigo before her, arms extended forward clasping a cheap heart-shaped chocolate purchased in a convenience store nearby, and a bouquet of red roses. He fired a question that spiraled through her mind like a broken record, these words had become a constant thing throughout her entire existence; unable to do anything but endure these declarations that she despised so much. "I love you! Please, go out with me," intoned the man with his pleading voice.
How boring.
Scarlet-tainted flowers and sickeningly flavored chocolates, hormonal teenagers and love proclamations — it's omnipotently revolting, haunting the beauty in her sweet slumber more than a nightmare could.
She wished they'd leave her alone.
"No," was Juvia Lockser's usual answer, a sly smile ghosting the perfectly-shaped corner of her peach-coated lips as he froze in his spot; if there was one thing she reveled about these romantic anecdotes, it was how she watched men burn in anger as their ego easily gets crumpled like a piece of paper, their disgusting mouths dared to spew out some strident nonsense after their cringey declarations of love. She faked a yawn, looking down at her silver Dior watch that her brother working as an astronomer gifted her last Christmas, "Can Juvia go home now?"
"What?" the senior abruptly raised his body, harshly throwing the chocolates and vibrant buds to the ground as his black pools twitched from exasperation. Her keen eyes caught sight of the name etched on his school ID — Bora Prominence, a surly nobody.
There it is.
"Didn't you hear what Juvia said?" she folded her arms over her figure, it was like a flip had been turned on as the elegant and aloof girl she posed throughout her school life fleeted like a memory from afar, the girl standing before him was like another person exuding with superiority. "What? Got dirt on your ear?" she continuously provoked which earned no reply from the man, deciding that she was just wasting her time in this place, Juvia flips her hair and turned on her heels.
Before she could even waltz away, the indigo-haired man swiftly encaged his hands on her shoulder, pushing her back flush against the railing as his palms bored against her slender neck; fear flickering behind her dead eyes as she coughed, feeling her esophagus closing.
Through the sunset gleam, he could see how her cheeks burned in a vivid shade of burgundy, siren eyes glistening with unshed tears as her impotent countenance earned him a strong sense of lust and animosity towards her. "You bitch! You think you're high and mighty just because everyone is dying to fuck you, don't you?" he screamed, tightening his hold around her neck as he pushed his knee in between her legs, "You know what? Bitches like you deserve to be punished."
Like a bolt of lightning and with practiced ease, the senior tore her school blouse unveiling her ample chest caged in a white lace bra which engaged a maniac smirk on his dark mouth, forcing her to look at him as he trailed his lips to the grip marks around her neck, "You dirty girl."
"S-stop," Juvia meekly whimpered, her imperious demeanor fading into thin air enticing the older man even more so.
Of feeble damsels and forlorn whimpers, this is the sight that boosts men's ego, ain't it?
Bora's pitch-black pools burned with sexual desire for the woman, her weak whimpers dispatching blood into his hardening groin. Deciding there was no time for foreplay since there was a high risk that someone might catch him, the disgusting man fumbled with his trousers, sliding them to his feet to reveal his Spongebob boxers.
"Now, where were we?" he questioned, the blue-haired lady had to conceal the turbulent laughter brewing inside her.
With a wave of adrenaline coursing in her veins, she concluded that he had his pleasure in the situation already, the young female turned the tables around by surprising him with a kick on his crotch using her high-heeled shoes engaging a high-pitched scream from the male. Acting swiftly, before her abuser could further react; the beauty smashed his head on the metal railing which knocked him unconscious.
Juvia breathed heavily, dusting the dirt in her quivering palms — one thing about living with her brother's black belter of a wife, she had learned a thing or two about how to take care of herself in dire circumstances.
A series of loud claps laced with a burst of manly laughter resonated throughout the rooftop, the blue-haired Heather cast her deathly voids of aquamarine to the man who was lazily slumped at the roof of the entrance towards the staircase. "How amusing," his voice was teasing, almost mocking her as he stretched his long limbs forward before deciding to plop down from his comfortable throne.
The dusk breeze tousled his halo of raven mane which unveiled a scar on the side of his forehead emphasizing a sharp look on his handsome features, a mischievous glint burning behind his artic-hued orbs as he kept his mouth curved in a boyish grin.
An air of dominance was perceptible around him as he trudged closer towards her, with his black blazer loosely draped around his broad shoulders like a cape; it dawned on her, he was the creature that infuriating girls her age deemed as the prince of their school.
"Gray," his name tumbled out of her lips laced with venom, the male had quite a reputation for breaking hearts. Acting cautious, she took a step backward, embracing herself tightly, shielding his view from her nearly exposed body.
Gray paid no heed to the discomfort that she showed, standing before her as his arms moved to cage her trembling figure in the protective embrace of his warm blazer. His eyes coldly trailed towards the unconscious figure of the scum who had molested her, hadn't she made a move to take care of herself earlier, he would have intervened.
To say that he was surprised was an understatement; who would have thought that the aloof popular girl of their school knew how to defend herself — even more so had an entertaining personality that didn't resemble that of an AI robot.
Throughout the school year that he observed her from afar, he thought she was just an eye candy who knew nothing but to tap those luscious fingers of hers against the key of her game console, the only shift in her reaction was when she having a hard time in her games. This haughty personality that he discovered, was quite fascinating if he was being honest.
The renowned prince of Magnolia Academy shoved the heel of his black shoes on the face of Bora, earning a groan from the blacked-out idiot. "They bother you a lot too, don't they?" he questioned, the only reply he got was a meek nod from the woman which prompted him to kick the unconscious figure squared in the nose until he was sure he heard a crack as scarlet fluid began trickling down his face.
Juvia leaned her quivering body towards the railing to aid herself as she couldn't quite feel her long legs, her breathing growing labored as she completely sunk to her knees with the crisis a few moments ago replaying in her mind like a film reel, washing up on her like a stream of cold water on a winter morning.
The raven-haired male noticed her turmoil, the lustrous gleam of the descending sun emphasizing the unshed waterworks in her blue pools, and her lips plump from too much anxious biting. Underneath the haughty exterior that she emanates, the event that had transpired earlier must have truly wounded her, a strong sense of shame rained down upon his being since he had the chance to help her from that abuser, and play the role of a prince that everyone presumed him to be but then again — he was no prince, and he was thankful that she wasn't a damsel that needs saving.
Gray knelt before the upset female, careful not to stay too close to her to make her feel at ease. "Are you alright?" he queried in his gentlest tone, his question was like the catalyst for her tough countenance to crumble; unveiling a petrified child before him as fat tears cascaded down her roseate-tinted cheeks.
Juvia tried to mute her wails, the sound that she let out were tangled with tremendous grief, it dawned on him that she must have been keeping it in her system for far too long since he knew that throughout her existence, she has been under scrutiny of dumb boys fawning even on the bits and bobs that she did, he would have known cause he was sailing the same boat as her.
Concluding that the beauty probably needed space, he raised himself from his position and ambled towards the railing with his hands lazily shoved in his pockets, leaning his broad back against the metal as he stared at the daystar burning a beautiful shade of red as it bid its temporary goodbye to the purple sky, its warm hue serving as a promise to return at dawn.
The calming melody of crickets chirping concealed her silent sobs, blue breeze blowing through her gorgeous face dried the water drops staining her cheeks as the glow of the fireflies drifting around the two teenagers soothed her. By the time she had completely let out her pent-up anguish; a ceiling of twinkling stars spread throughout the sky, adorned with the magnificent view of the vivid crescent moon.
Gray, noting that her cries had subsided took that as his cue to speak. "I-uh," he faked a cough, finding it too hard to drag those words of apology out of his mouth since he wasn't used to saying it. "Uhm, I'm—" before he could speak further, Juvia busted him.
"Don't," she whispered harshly, "Juvia doesn't need your pity." An awkward silence engulfed the two for a minute, it was the female who broke it first as she sinks further into the warm blazer around her, its wintry aroma that reminded her of Christmas comforted her, "It's just that… Juvia wishes they'd leave her alone." She looked up at him, "Doesn't Gray feel the same way too?"
His face cringed, vertical wrinkles forming between his dark defined brows as he remembered the event this afternoon that encouraged him to ditch his last period. Earlier, girls ganged up on him, forcing him to munch on the sweets they made during home economics, it was a hectic experience since he wasn't even fond of sweets anyway. "They're pesky, they couldn't even get a hint. I wish they'd leave me alone too," he sounded irked.
The prince and the flower in a high peak — two broken mosaic pieces ruled down by society to act the roles that they were forced into; like a couple of birds locked in a cage of social hierarchy, wanting to soar in the sky freely without the hindrance of being sealed away. They were so much alike in so many ways than one, in a way that they'd fit together.
Gray rested his chin on his hand, a brewing storm dancing behind his orbs of artic-blue as he met her siren eyes that were devoid of any gleam; staring at those oceanic voids, was like looking at a reflection of a dead person. A wicked idea flash through his mind, "How about a deal that could benefit the both of us?" curious, she tilted her head which pushed him to continue his speech. "Say, let's date," an imperious smirk graced his mesmerizing features as he reveled in the shift in her mask of elegance.
A sarcastic laugh escaped the female's lips as she shake her head in disbelief, catching his drift. "Gray is saying that we'd pose as boyfriend and girlfriend to get rid of people after them?" her voice intoned, not even trying to conceal the distaste in her tone.
"It'd benefit you more than me, don't you think?" he mocked, that was the first and last straw.
Juvia hastily rises from her position on the cold rooftop floor with a bolt of energy inside her, his warm blazer sliding down her slender arms to reveal her untidy uniform. She sealed the agonizing distance between them, extending an arm forward to grip his tie loosely hanging on his neck to bring him to her eye level.
"You're just the same as them," she spoke in first person, making sure that she spat poison in her cold tone as a blue fire burned beneath her aquamarine orbs.
"I like feisty!" the raven-haired prince teased even more just to see her reaction.
The female released her hold on his tie as realization flickered beneath her blue eyes, composing herself as she donned her poker face once again, deciding that she won't give him that satisfaction as she saw through his game. She turned on her heels, fishing out her phone with a crocheted teru-teru bozu keychain from her skirt pocket as her long grey-painted nails clicked on her sister-in-law's number.
Within a single ring, the fashion designer answered. "Erza-san? Are you busy? Can you pick Juvia up at school?" her high-heeled shoes created a relaxing melody as they clicked against the ground while she walked towards the entrance. Slender fingers twisting around the doorknob, the gorgeous adult on the other line bombarded her with questions like an anxious mother to her child, "Juvia's fine! Just please come now. Bye!"
Gray tailed after the female, slouching down to pick up his school blazer resting on the ground along the way as he towered behind her curvaceous figure. Throwing the piece of clothing atop her halo of cerulean waves, he leaned down to whisper his speech with the sincerest tone that he could muster in the hopes of convincing her to his proposition — it's a fair deal for the both of them anyway, "I'm serious, just so you know."
If Juvia was facing the raven-haired guy, he would have noticed the deepening shade of roses in her bright cheeks that spread throughout her angelic face or how her sultry lips quivered. Her heart fought against her ribcage, a foreign feeling surging through her stomach like there were some fairies from her video games swarming inside her.
Her fingers clutched on the blazer resting on her head, bringing it closer around her cheeks to conceal the blush that overtook her features as a sweet wintry aroma tickled her nostrils. Hyperventilating, the female dashed out off the rooftop without bothering to spare him a glance.
Left alone on the rooftop with only a bruised scum lying insensible on the cement floor, the young male hauled out his phone from his slacks' pockets searching for the video that he had taken earlier to email to the principal of their academy, Makarov.
Not even a minute after executing his task to oust the culprit from their institution, an ugly gasping sound rang around the area signaling that the indigo-haired punk had awoken from his torturous nap, Lady luck siding with Gray, his glacial-toned eyes landed on a stick of steel lying by the maroon bricks.
The raven-haired prince cracked his knuckles, picking up the steel after he decided that some sweet warm-up could do before he went home to his Mother's home-cooked meal. With the eery clicking of his designers' shoes on the cement ground, Gray strides towards Bora enjoying the confusion etched on the thug's purple face.
"What—" before the beat-up guy could even finish his sentence, he was silenced by a steel thrusting towards his deteriorated face causing a few pieces of his goldish teeth to fly out of his dirty mouth, staining the polished floor.
"Now, now," Gray thumped the red-tainted metal against his palm, kneeling before Bora as his free-hand grasp on his feeble victim's blood-soaked uniform. The sight of his ramshackle visage urged the prince to draw out more crimson-tinge fluid from the indigo-haired abuser, frosty eyes twinkling with inextinguishable mischief as he graced him with a devilish smirk on his chiseled features, "What should I do with you?"
Overwhelmed with mortification, it was safe to say that Bora Prominence completely vanished from the rich town of Magnolia, further losing the nerves to bother the flower in a high peak as he came home to his rowdy gang in Hargeon with his tail in between his paralyzed legs.
