The journey itself wasn't a long one...but there were plemnty of sights to behild along the way. Paldea was a visual place to behold for sure-

Though Ana wasn't sure if she should be more impressed by the scenery of the land...or of the mansion whose front lawn she had wandered into.

And it seemed she was not the only one taken in by the sights either- as the Poke'mon she had previously been wandering the path with all scattered to various parts of the lawn.

She was so taken aback by the aesthetically pleasing design, and all that was going on around her that she had forgotten- for a brief moment- that she was supposed to be making a decision.

A young woman stepped out of the door, greeting Fuecoco with a gentle pat on the head. Her lightly tanned face curling into a small smile while her ponytail wayed with her movements as she looks up to Ana, standing at the bottom of the steps.

Waoh...she seems...cool...!

"Are you their trainer?" she asks curiously, snapping Ana right out of her trance. She felt her heart get stuick in her throat while the vasage of her pale skin tinted pink before she was graciously saved by the gentle interruption of .

"On contrary, as Ms. Ana here has yet to have made her decision." he hummed.

"Ana, huh?" the girl smiled, "Buenas!"

"I must say- I wasn't expecting to see you here quite so soon." said Clavell.

"Hold on Director-" the girl blinked her curious almond eyes and shofted her gaze over to the gentleman beside her, "Is this who I think it is?"

"Why yes it is." said Clavell, "This is our newst student who will be starting at the Academy." he stated.

"Oh I see! so YOU'RE the kid who moved up the road!"

Ana gulped.

"Uh...yeah th...that's me." she said softly.

"I've been dying to find out more about you!" the girl beamed excitedly.

"Wait...really?"

Well that was a curious factor...

As no one had really expressed an interesting in learning about Ana before-

But then...Ana was "new" and people were always curious about what's new...

"I'm Nemona." the woman said smiling, "Normally, I live in the school dorms...but home is here." she smiled.

Figures she'd be the rich girl next door...

Ana thought to herself, taking another gander at the rather impressive house.

"So- whaddaya say, neighbor!"Nemona beamed, "Wanna be friends?"

"You...wanna be friends with me?" Ana blinked curiously.

Well...at least she seems pretty friendly for a rich girl...

She thought to herself and nodded.

"Sure...okay."

I guess I could give this new friend thing a try...

"We'll...work on that enthusiasm~" Nemona chuckled.

" is the president of our student council- and a Champion-ranked Trainer in her own right." said Clavell.

"I absolutely love battling!" she said beaming, "In face- we should have a battle right now- you an me!"

"Wh-What!? Right now? B-But I-"

"Easy now, ladies." Clavell chuckled. "You two will be in the same class- so you will have plemnty of time to battle later, and get to know each other of course."

"We're gonna be neighbors AND classmates?" saod Nemona, "Nice! So then we'll be able to battle all we want!"

...Clearly she has a one tracked mind...

"On that note, ..." Clavell spoke up, "Have you decided upon your first partner?"

Ana's eyes held focus on Director Clavell for a long while before slowly shifting back down to the three Poke'mon before her that she was to choose from.

After a long moment of though, she gave a firm nod and pointed...

"You." she said firmly.

Sprigatito purred in delight and wandered right up her arm to her shoulder. It pressed its nose lovingly to her forehead and softly nuzzled her cheek, pulling a smile from her lips.

Yeah...this was the right choice...I know it!

She thought to herself.

"I think I'm gonna call you...Reefurr."

"Mewl~!"

"A fine choice." Clavell smiled, "Please raise Reefurr with love and care."

"Way to make the perfect choice!" said Nemona clapping her hands in delight, "Just look at the two of you! I real prize winning Duo!" she beamed, "Director Clavell- may I choose one of these poke'mon too?"

"Did you not receive a Poke;mon when you entered the Academy, ?"

"No, not back then." she said softly,"I had other Poke'mon already that I was focused on raising." she smiled, "But now I want to raise a new Poke'mon along side Ana while she raises her own!"

"Indeed, a rather splended idea." Clavell hummed, "If you wish to raise one on equal footing with , I shall be more than happy to allow it." he smiled.

Nemona beamed excitedly, happily taking Quaxly as her choice.

"Now that we've choses our Poke'mon, we HAVE to battle!" she said with a thrill in her voice, "I'll be waiting for you down at the beach- come join me when you're ready!"

And in a flash...she was gone.

"...As you may have noticed, is a tad overly fond of the art of battle." said Clavell, "But I do hope you will join her." he says softly, "Not only will it help the two of you get to know each other as comrades- but also your new found partners as well."

"Hey! Over here!" Nemona waved them over once they made their first steps onto the sand.

So not only does she have her own battle court- but their own provate beach as well?

Man how loaded IS this girl?
Though Ana thought it incredibly rude to ask aloud...so she didn't.

"Now's the chance to try out our new partners!" Nemona grinned, "Come on Ana- let's have a fruitful battle!"

And so- the battle began.

Luckily for Ana- she already knew about type advantages...she wasn't hpwever, familiar with the types of attacks Sprigatito had...

Thank goodness for the trusty Rotom phone!

"Uhm- right! use Leafage!" she ordered-

Naturally the hit landed and did twice the damage as moves will do when going against their type advantage-

which made for a lot of damage donw on the first round.

"Oh wow- not bad, neighbor!" Nemona grinned, "Grass is strong against water- but it seems like you already knew that, huh?" she laughed, "I think you definitely made the right choice in coming to our school!"

The battle went well.

A little tit for tat-

Still though...the type advantage won-

And Victory went to Ana.

Though this was probably due to Nemona not using her usual partners...

their hands clasped together in sportsmanship as Nemona congratulated the other on her win.

"Keep working hard like that, and you're definitely going to be a strong Trainer for sure!" she hummed.

"Let's battle again soon." Ana said softly.

"Oh definitely!" Nemona grinned, "We'll definitely battle more!"

"Well the two of you seem to be becoming fast friends." said Clavell, "So then, can I count on you to take your new school mate here under your wing, ?"

"You bet!" she beamed.

"That's good to hear." he hummed, "Now I still have a few matters to discuss with your parents, ...so could I rely on you to take her to the Academy in my stead?" Clavell asked, "You would be doing me quite the solid...as it seems the kids say these days." he chuckled.

"No problem Director." Nemona said softly with an awkward smile.

Yeah...I was pretty cringed by that too...

Ana thought to herself.

The two were off together after waving off the school Director.

Though to Ana's surprise- her mother seemed to be waiting for her rigght at Nemona's gate.

"Oh! Anabelle!" her mother hummed.

"It's Ana mom...just Ana..." she tried to protest softly but as usual it was in one ear and out the other.

"So I hear Nemona here will be taking you to school then?" she questioned curiously.

"That's right Ma'am!" said Nemona, Leave it to me!"

"So you've already managed to make a friend..." her mother said softly.

"Uh...yeah...I guess so." said Ana.

"See? I knew this move would be good for you." her mother confirmed, "And I've reas about all the wonderful teachers you'll have looking after you at the school too!" she hummed, "Not to mention all access facilities...add in one new friend and it sounds like your school life will be shaping up to be fantastic!"

Her gaze got heavy for a moment and rested on Ana...raising curiosity within Nemona, though now didn't seem to be the time to question anything.

"Here..." her mother said softly, handing over a bag, "I made you a bagged lunch for your first day." she said with a saddened smile, "Be sure to eat proper meals while living in the dorms, okay?"

"Yeah...okay, mom." Ana said softly. The heaviness was awkward between them...sometimes she wished her mother didn't try so hard when it felt so forced...

"I Know there are plenty of experiences waiting for you." she said softly, "But still...if ever you decide to come home...I'll...keep your bed ready for you." and with that...she turned to leave.

Not even a good bye...

Ana sighed.

"S-So uhm...she...seems...nice?" Nemona said awkwardly. She didn't really know how else to break the weird vibes other than a smile and a nod.

"Anyway, C;mon, Vamos!" she grinned, "It's quite a bit of a hoke from here to the school" She laughed, waving her hand along for Ana to follow while she led the way.
