"Way to go! For a second there- I thought you were both goners..." said Nemona as the creature gently placed Ana back on her feet.

"Nemona!" Ana cried, "Reefurr got hurt trying to rescue me." she said with tears stinging at the corners of her eyes, " Would you happen to have any berries on you or anything!?

"Hold on, calm down, Ana." Nemona said softly holding her comrade's trembling shoulders, " Let's just get away from this place first and we can give Reefurr some berries and potions to help fix it right up..." she said softly, "I should have some bandages too, let's see now..." as they stepped away from the mouth of the cavern, the mighty beast fell to the grass what's more.

"Woah, what's wrong!?" said a shocked Nemona.

"...Maybe it used up all of its power?" said Ana, studying the beast as it fell back into its weakened state.

"What is this Poke'mon anyway?" Nemona wondered.

"I have no idea." said Ana, "Rotom couldn't give me any information in it either-" her eyes shifted to Nemona, "I was kind of hoping you might have an idea, since your a local in Paldea...where as I am still pretty new..."

"Hmm..." Nemona hummed, "Well...it...kind of looks like a Cyclizar-" she said with a shrug, "But i've never seen one that looked quite like this before...could it be a new Evolution, maybe...?" she sighed, "But it looks so different now from a minute ago..." she said softly, "Do you think it's okay?"

Ana sighed and shook her head softly.

"I'm honestly not really sure..."

"You can't tell either, huh, Ana?" Nemona blinked, "Well...all that aside... I'm seriously glad to have you back up here in one piece." she said with a soft smile as the creature stood back up and shook.

"Oh good! It looks like it just needed a rest." Nemona smiled, "You've all been through enough for the moment...I think it's best we all take a breather, and fix up little Reefurr here as best we can until we can get to the nearest Poke'mon center." she said softly.

"Yeah...that's a good idea..." said Ana, hugging her weakened Sprigatito close in her arms.

"Still...you said Sprigatito got hurt by trying to protect you, right?" Nemona smiled, "That means it wanted to keep you safe-" she beamed, "It seems you chose right in taking this Poke'mon under your wing!" said Nemona, "You'll pull a great and reliable partner from Sprigatito yet!" she beamed, "Come on, the Lighthouse is just ahead...we can rest there."

It seemed Nemona and Ana weren't the only ones paying a visit to the light house that day- as upon their arrival, a long haired stranger seemed to be peeking in through the window, turning in response to the sound of their approaching foot steps and gave a soft gasp.

"Why that little..." the boy growled and showed his teeth, running up to the creature that seemed to be escorting the two young ladies.

"What are you doing out here!?" he huffed, "And what's with this form it's in, huh?" he sighed glancing back at them, "I'm not talking to you two...you can shove off."

"Excuse me- rude!" Nemona huffed, "Hold on...aren't you Arven?" she asked curiously.

"Who? asked Ana.

"Yeah...he's enrolled in the Humanities track at school." she explained, "You're the son of that Poke'mon Researcher aren't you? Professor Turo?"

"Grrh...it doesn't MATTER who my dad is!" Arven huffed, "What matters now is what this brute is doing out here- and-and what's with this form it's in!?" he huffed.

"I'm sorry!" Ana said, quick to apologize as she stepped between the two bowing her head apologetically, "I'm afraid it's my fault..."

"Huh?" Arven blinked and shifted his attention the wine haired girl between them, his eyes softening as he took in the broken critter in her arms.

"I met it at the bottom of a cliff..." she explained, "And...it saved me from a tight spot..."

"See, Ana fell off a cliff during our investication of a weird cry..." said Nemona, "This Poke'mon saved her but it seems like it wore itself out in the process..."

"It...rescued you, huh?" asked Arven, glancing back at the creature.

"It looked totally different before-" said Nemona, "Unbelievable strong!"

"Well yeah...as it should be." said Arven, "But it can't fight while it's like this." he explained, "The form Miraidon takes in battle...that's its true form."

"Miraidon?" Nemona blinked.

"Is that this Poke'mon's name?" asked Ana.

"How do you know it?" questioned Nemona- though her question goes unheaded as Arven's attention shifted back to Ana's weakened Sprigatito.

"I don't remember seeing you around before..." said Arven, seemingly directed towards Ana, "But judging by your uniform...I take it you go to our school too?"

"She's a new transfer." said Nemona, "I'm taking her to school now...after we take care of a few things," she said softly patting the small Poke'mon in Ana's arms.

"...Your Sprigatito..." said Arven, "Was it hurt from your fall?" he asked.

"...Yes and now." Ana said softly, "Thanks to the fall, we had to use the Grotto to find our way back up..." she explained softly, "But a Houndoom, leading a pack of Houndour stood in our way...the Houndoom tried to attack me...but...Reefurr to the hit instead, before Miraidon stepped in."

"It got hurt...protecting you, huh?" he said softly eyes resting on the small kitten Poke'mon. a tender smile creeped on his lips and he nodded, "Hold on a second." he said softly, placing his camping back down on the ground, "I think I've gota few ingredients here that might help fix it right up." he said and smiled at her, "...Why don't I fix us up some sandwiches?"

"Waoh, Arven!" Nemona squealed, "These are delicious!"

"Heh...thanks." Arven chuckled, seeming relived too to see that even Sprigatito seemed to perk up again after having a good meal.

"...You're poke'mon seems to really be quite fond of you despite its young age...Ms...?"

"Ana." the wine haired girl said softly as she gently brushed her bangs to the side.

"...Ana." he smiled and looked back at Miraidon as well who seemed to be resting, "Even Miraidon took it upon itself to help you out...despite not knowing you at all." he said softly with a chuckle, "Here..." he said to her, handing over a Poke'ball, much to Ana's curiosity.

"It's the Poke'ball that Brute has been kept in." he explained, "And seeing as it seems to like you...I think it might be better off with you, than with me."

"Really?" she said softly as he placed the ball in her hand.

"Yeah." said Arven, "Truth be told...this thing carries some memories of mine with it that leave a pretty bitter taste in my mouth...and I would prefer it gone." he said softly, "I think with you- it will be safe...trust me...way better off." he smiled," Just take it, okay?" he said to her, "...And take care of it."

"So then...why did YOU have it?" Nemona asked curiously- another question that the ashy blonde haired boy tended to avoid-

"Anyway- that thing is your problem now, not mine." he said as he packed his things up, "Good luck!"

"Oye!? Can you not hear me or something!? HEY!"

And with that...he was gone in a Dash.

"Man...what a weirdo..." Nemona sighed.

"Well then...just like that I guess...Miraidon...you get to come with me now." Ana said softly holding the ball to it. It gave a little shake of glee before tapping its nose to the button and tucking itself away.

"Hmmm...that Arven guy definitely knows more than he's letting on..." said Nemona, "Next time- he and I are battling, and I am gonna wring some answers out of him!" she huffed," But...atleast Reefurr is all better now too." she hummed, "Come on Ana- let's climb the lighthouse really quick- I can't wait to show you the view of our school!"

The wind got cooler as they went up, softly blowing their hair in the breeze.

"Look, Ana! that's Mesagoza!" Nemona beamed, pointing to a large city out in the distance, "And that huse building with the Poke'ball on it? That's our school." she explained.

"Waoh...it really is huge..." Ana said softly.

"I think it's gonna be really great having you in class, Ana!" said Nemona, "

"Yeah but...all that school work..." she mumbled softly.

"Oh come on...it won't be that bad!" Nemona teased, "I can't wait to get back...we're gonna learn so much...and battle So much more!" she beamed.

"Isn't it awesome what you can see from up here though?" she asked, "Mountains! Forests! Grasslands! Nature stuff as far as the eye can see~" she hummed, "And between these natural spaces from here to there- TONS of Poke'mon!" she hummed, turning toward Ana with a warm smile while her ponytail caught the wind. Her skin took on a warm orange glow against the sun as she faced her and spoke-

"Consider this me officially telling you: Welcome to Paldea!"
