Sorry for not uploading for a month. Was doing final exams and stuff for school, and now I'm home and the Christmas season chaos is going on and I'm sure you get it.
I don't own Phineas and Ferb
Enjoy!
Ch. 5
Phineas POV (Monday night)
I got a call from Buford, which I was expecting, or at least hoping for after we talked earlier. I wanted to know how it went with Milly if he even called her; which I'm guessing he did since he's calling me now.
"Hey Buford." I said, "Did you talk to Milly?"
"Yeah"
"How'd it go?"
"Definitely coulda went better. I got hung up on after I told her what I told you."
"Buford, what did you say?"
"I told her I wanna be single. I don't wanna be in a relationship."
"Oh." was all I could get out.
"You sound disappointed dinnerbell."
"Well no," I started, "I mean I guess I could've expected that, it just sounds like it was a little rough for her if she hung up right after you said that."
"I know she didn't take it great. I could tell by the tone in her voice."
"Oh."
"I guess we gotta see where this goes from here now." Buford said somberly.
"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow buddy."
"Seeya dinnerbell."
Woof. Katie is not gonna like to hear that, if she hasn't heard it already. I better let her know.
"Hello?"
"Hi Katie!"
"Hi Phineas, what's up?"
"I figured I should tell you that Buford called me again, and he did talk to Milly."
"Oh?"
"Yeah he did, and let's just say it could've gone better."
"Oh god. What did he say?"
"He told me that Milly hung up the phone when he told her he didn't want to be in a relationship."
"Oh no. Poor Milly."
"Yeah, so that's where we are now."
? POV (Tuesday)
I woke up after hearing a faint ring from my phone. I rolled over to grab my phone to answer.
"Hello?" I said sleepily rubbing my eyes.
"Morning boss, did I wake you?"
"Yeah, it's alright kid, don't worry about it."
"I was just letting you know that I won't need a ride to school today, my mom has the morning off for a doctor's appointment so she's gonna take me."
"Ok cool."
"What was your plan for notes today?"
"I'm assuming that if they had an interaction yesterday, it probably wouldn't have gone well. So I wanted to do something encouraging for Milly, because I figure she'll need to see it."
"What did you have in mind?"
"I don't know, you'll have to make it today since I'm not bringing you to school."
"Ok. I'll get on that. Talk to you later."
"Bye kid."
Milly POV
I just arrived at my locker after getting off the bus and saw another note attached to my locker. I sighed.
I don't even want to open this. What's the point?
I didn't even open the envelope. I just took it and tossed it in my locker before grabbing what I needed and heading to math class.
When I got to math class, I saw Holly sitting by herself. Holly was the first to leave the troop back when Isabella moved away, so we haven't really hung out much by we were still decent friends.
"Hey Holly. How are you?"
She looked up and smiled, "I'm good, how about yourself."
"I'm doing as good as I can."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I guess it just means I could be better."
"What's wrong?"
"Well it's a bit of a long story."
She looked down at her phone. "We got a few minutes."
"Alright so it all started when Katie got an envelope taped to her locker. Apparently Phineas also got one that same day. These envelopes had some notes in them that had different messages every day, eventually these letters led to Phineas figuring out that Katie liked him and now they're dating."
"Wow."
"Yeah, so yesterday I got one of these envelopes, and it's about Buford. But Buford literally told me yesterday that he didn't want to date anybody."
"Oh no."
"I got another envelope today, but I didn't even bother opening it. There's no point."
"Oh man, Milly I'm sorry."
"It's alright, I'll get over it."
"I don't wanna act like I know what's going on but you should totally open that envelope."
"Oh, I don't know about that."
"I don't know, I know I would wanna know what it says."
"I don't care what it says, it doesn't matter."
"Alright, well I'm here for you."
"Thanks."
Phineas POV
We just sat down for lunch when Irving walked up to the table.
"Hey guys! Mind if I sit?" Irving said.
"Not at all." I said, "Take a seat."
Django wiped his mouth before asking, "Did anyone get any notes today?"
Everybody seemed to just look at each other before looking at me.
"What?" I asked.
"You seem to know more about who is getting these than we do." Baljeet said.
"Guys, I don't have anything, what would I even get?"
"What are these notes you guys are talking about?" Irving asked
Baljeet looked right at me so I asked. "You wanna tell him Baljeet?"
"I think you should Phineas."
I sighed before starting, "Alright so one day before school, I had this envelope on my locker. It was taped to it and everything. I open the envelope to see a note that says two words. Call Katie. Now, my dumbass didn't know what that could have possibly meant at the time, turns out she likes me more than a friend and now we're dating."
"Woah. Good for you Phineas!" Irving said.
"Thanks, Irving."
"You missed something, " Django said.
"What?"
"Yesterday, when Katie came over here and told you about someone else getting something."
"I'm not telling you who got that."
"Who got what?" Irving asked.
"Katie told me that one of the other girls over there got an envelope yesterday. I don't know why I needed to know that but I do. I don't know if I am allowed to tell people who it was so I haven't yet."
"Ok, that makes sense."
? POV
My phone was ringing about an hour after I got home from school. I picked it up and it was who I expected it to be.
"Hey kid, what's up."
"Milly didn't open her envelope today."
"Shit."
"What do we do?"
"Well, I'd still like her to hear what you wrote."
Milly doesn't have my phone number, I could text her the note and she wouldn't know who I am.
"Do you think I could text her?" I asked. "I don't have her number so she wouldn't know who I am."
"Maybe, but you'd have to do it. She has my number."
"That's fine, just text me it and I'll get her the message."
"You got it boss."
She hung up and about 20 seconds later I got the text. I opened up a new conversation with Milly's number and wrote, "Don't give up on him! He cares about you more than you know!"
Milly POV
WTF! I just got a text from some random number that said what I am assuming was in that envelope! Not only do they know my number, but they know I didn't open their envelope!
I quickly shot back a text asking, "Who is this!"
I needed to talk to someone so I called Katie.
"Hello?"
"Katie! We need to talk!"
"Alright, what's the problem?"
"I just got a text from an unknown number that looks a lot like something I would get as an envelope."
"Ok?"
"I got an envelope today but I didn't open it. They got my number somehow and they know I didn't open their envelope."
"Damn, ok. So we go to school with whoever is doing this. But you said it was an unknown number?"
"Yeah."
"Wow. This is crazy."
"Yeah."
"How would they have gotten your number?"
"I don't know."
"Have you given it to anyone in the last couple days?"
"No."
"Somebody must have given it to whoever is doing this. Do you have any idea who would've done that?"
"Oh gosh, " I said, "I can't think of anybody right now."
"Darn. How are you holding up Milly?"
"Honestly, I've been better."
"I believe it."
"I was already struggling with the whole Buford thing, and now I can't even avoid it."
"Oh god."
I saw a message pop up on my phone. It was from the mystery note maker!
"Katie, I just got a text from them!"
"What! What did it say?"
"I asked who it was and they said, "You'll find out when we're done.""
"When we're done. Done with what?"
"I'm guessing all this that we've been going through for the last week."
"Oh no. There's so many more people in this school! We have to stop them before more people get hurt."
"How are we supposed to do that? We can't exactly force them to stop doing something, especially when we don't know who we're dealing with!"
"I don't have a clue Milly."
We sat there in pause for a bit. I think we were both processing this conversation still.
"Milly, I'm gonna let you go." Katie started. "I'm gonna do some homework and talk to Phineas about this."
"Oh, alright. Talk to you later Katie."
"Bye."
Phineas POV
I wasn't doing much. Kinda just sitting on the couch hanging out with Perry when I got a call from Katie.
"Hello?"
"Hey Phineas, do you have a minute?"
"Yeah. I'm just chilling with Perry."
"There's a problem with Milly's situation with Buford."
"I know, Buford doesn't want a relationship."
"That's not what I meant, Milly got a text today from an unknown number and it was the person who has been making these envelopes for us."
"How do you know?"
"Milly's first text looked like something that they would write, and when Milly asked who it was, they said that we will find out when they are done."
"Done? Like with these envelopes?"
"Yeah. Phineas, this could take months! I don't want this going on any longer."
"Why not?"
"I don't want people getting hurt like Milly!"
"Well, maybe there's a reason for that."
"What reason could there be?"
"I mean, maybe there was a reason that Buford's disinterest in Milly was introduced to her. Maybe they were trying to get her to move on."
"Move on to what?"
"I don't know."
"That's my point Phineas, I don't want more people to get hurt."
"Katie! Not everybody is going to have sunshine and rainbows and everything perfect."
"What do you mean?"
"Obviously whoever is doing this knew that it would get us together. We have no reason to believe that they aren't doing the same or something similar for Milly."
"I'm just worried about Milly."
"I am too, but we have no reason to believe that this isn't happening for a reason. After all, whoever is doing this is one for one so far."
"Haha, alright Phineas. You've got a good point. I'm gonna go do some homework, I'll see you tomorrow."
"Bye Katie."
Sorry again for taking so long to update. I won't get another out before the New Year, so I'll see you in January.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year.
