Total Drama Enchanted
Alternate Winner
(Up to this point, the chapter is exactly the same)
The Hooded Guy had dragged them by their hair until they reached a special hatch in the floor that the guy knew was the garbage dump. He lets them go and forces them to enter with his gun, starting with Lucas, who obediently goes down the stairs. But when it was Ginger's turn, she reacts and jumps on top of her guy to take the gun from him. The two struggle for a few seconds until…
BANG!
"AAAAAAAAAHHH!" Ginger's scream echoed throughout the hallway as she lowered her hands to her knee where she had a nasty bullet hole and her blood was dripping from it. She tries to stand up, but she trips and falls into the trash can, all while she cried in pain.
"Look what you made me do." the Hooded Guy grabs the gun and closes the door, but not before saying, "You can stay there with the million for now. Anyway, I have to drive this clunker somewhere else. You have until then to make a decision. If you do it the right way, maybe I will let you live. But if you refuse again, you will face a punishment... which is death."
Once they are in the dark, Lucas takes a small flashlight out of his pocket and shines it on his partner, being able to see the horrible gunshot wound she received.
"That looks ugly" he had the nerve to comment.
"You think?" she grimaced as she moaned in pain and held back tears. "Do something! Get a bandage!"
Lucas rushes to help her, but there was nothing useful in the garbage dump in which they were locked. He therefore takes off his jacket and tears off a sleeve to use as a makeshift bandage. "I'm not a doctor, so this is the best you'll get until you get to a hospital."
Now that the wound was covered, Ginger settles herself next to a wall and does her best to remain calm despite the excruciating pain she is feeling. Seeing her suffer like that, Lucas reflects on the million dollars he is holding and finally makes a decision: "I guess you were right. We'd better hand over the briefcase. Maybe we'll still have time for him to spare our lives."
"No, you won't" through the pain, Ginger managed to cheer up her fellow rival. "You said it yourself: We worked our butts off to get to the finals. You can't give up in the end just because some weirdo demands it."
"I said that, huh?" he smiles proudly. "What about you then?"
"I can handle it. What we need now is a plan to escape" she smiles, though she looks more like a grimace. "Besides, I'm sure you would do the same if you were in my place."
However, Lucas decided to be honest and grimaced as he made 'maybe, probably, sort of' signs.
"Eh, nevermind. Just think of a plan, we need it urgently."
Lucas puts his mind to work, and he remembers how difficult that was. He felt like his brain was a machine full of gears that hadn't turned in years and were rusty and full of dust, but it's time to get his brain working again. Veins bulged on his forehead and smoke came out of his ears as Lucas made an inhuman effort to think.
Confessional
Ginger - "I think Lucas surpassed his mental capacity there, but I'm proud of him for trying!"
That rusty machine Lucas calls a brain is finally put to work to come up with a plan. Finally, it all ends with a little light bulb lighting up, and we all know what that means.
"I... HAD... AN... IDEEEEEAAAAA!" Lucas exclaimed with joy.
But Ginger did not share that emotion and in her place was dismay. "Should I be worry?"
"Maybe! But as the saying goes: No pain, no reward."
"I'm sure the correct phrase is No pain, no gain, but who cares."
"The only problem I haven't solved yet is the door. Unless Open Sesame works, I have nothing."
By pure coincidence, the hatch magically opens, letting in some light. "Hello! Ginger! Lucas! Are you there?"
Confessional
Lucas - (He's crossing his fingers) "I want a lifetime supply of pepperoni pizza" (He waits a few seconds, but nothing happens) "Aww, it only works once and I already wasted mine."
Ginger's eyes shine with joy as she hears the voice of her unexpected savior: "Karen! Yes, we're here!"
"But Ginger is hurt! We must go to a hospital soon!" Lucas added. He carries Ginger on his back so he can go up the stairs without much trouble. Once reunited, Lucas was eager to tell his plan, but Karen stops him.
"There's no time to waste" she throws him a key. "These are used to start one of the planes. Take one and get out of here."
"But what about you? What about the others?" Ginger asked.
"That guy just wants the briefcase for some stupid reason. The others can deal with him," the girl wrapped in bandages and in a wheelchair reassures her. "And don't worry about me. I'm used to this."
"Why are you helping us?" she asked between moans. "Are you expecting the million in return?"
"If it seems appropriate, then I hope to see a portion in my bank account when this is all over," she said mockingly and shrugged, before looking at the expressionless faces of the finalists, which made her roll her eyes. "No, I don't expect anything in return. I know you ungrateful people won't give me anything," she admitted before grumbling, "Even though I carried you around all season."
"So?" Lucas asked.
"Because I felt like it, okay?" Karen just wanted to end the conversation and escape quickly. "Get out of here!"
"But that won't do much good. That guy controls this air fortress. We'd be rats against a vulture," Ginger testified.
"Do you have a better plan? I doubt it."
"You said the others can deal with that guy. We just need to meet with them."
"Right now they are not available and there is nothing we can do about it. When they are free they will take over. Until then, you have to escape and claim the million dollars with Chris."
"Psh, escape?" Lucas scoffed at the idea. "I'm not going to escape now that I have an inflatable plan."
"Infallible," Karen corrected with disdain, before looking at her ex-friend. "Should I be worried that our lives depend on this ignorant slacker?"
"Probably" Ginger didn't bother to sweeten the mood.
"Meh, I have nothing to lose anymore," she shrugs.
The three approach so they can listen carefully to the plan. As he continued with the explanation, the expressions grew more confident. Once the explanation is finished, the three nod with determination.
Confessional
Lucas - "You can take away my freedom, and my prize, and my snacks, but you will never take away MY FREEDOM! Get ready, whoever you are, because you're messing with the wrong guy!"
The engines ignite and the propeller spins, and the two finalists high-five each other in celebration. But before they moved forward, they saw the Hooded Guy dragging Karen with one hand and carrying another weapon with the other. Upon closer inspection, they were horrified to see that it was a bazooka.
"End of the road!" the guy screamed and pulled the trigger, firing the missile.
"JUMP!" Lucas shouted, and the two immediately jumped in different directions.
KABOOM!
The plane explodes into a thousand pieces and almost sends the finalists flying. The two fell forcefully close to the edges of the area and dangerously close to falling into the ocean.
Due to her fall, Ginger's condition worsens and she holds her injured knee, but no one can come and help her. That's because Lucas fell to the other side and is even closer to the edge, and he had the briefcase in hand, which made him the Hooded Guy's target.
Standing a few feet away, said mystery guy pulls its gun out again and points it at the slacker, who crawls back until his path runs out and behind him was a free fall into the ocean.
"You've come this far, you dirty raccoon!" the Hooded Guy sneered, "Hand over the briefcase and no one will get hurt!"
"After all the injuries that were caused just today by you?"
"It was just an accident!" judging by the tone, it doesn't regret it at all. "A few weeks of rest and they will be as good as new!"
Lucas scowls at it before standing up and extending his hand with the briefcase, but out towards the ocean.
"Woah, woah, wait a second! What are you doing!?" the guy stays still and lowers the gun a little.
"If you want me to drop this briefcase so bad, I'll be happy to do it! I always wondered if this briefcase can float! Let's put it to the test!"
The Hooded Guy doesn't take the threat seriously. "I know you're inept and lazy, but you're not that kind of fool! You won't throw away that briefcase! You already talked about all the 'hard work' you did to get it!"
"I know! But I know what's most important now! For the first time I'm going to be responsible and do the right thing! And that's helping someone in need, even if that's not my problem!"
"Who? Are you talking about her?" the guy walks up to Ginger and grabs her by one of her pigtails, pointing the gun at her. "There you go, someone needs help. Let's do it one more time: Give me that briefcase, or your friend will pay dearly."
At that momento, just in time, the cavalry arrives. The contestants, led by Chantal, arrive at the location and stand still before the scene in front of them.
"Ginger! Are you okay?" Sonya asked worriedly when she saw the state of her friend.
"I've got a guy pointing a gun at me and a serious gunshot wound to my knee! And you're asking me if I'm okay?!"
"Yes, you were too cold there, girl," Maggie agreed.
"What is hapening here?!" just then Chris also arrives in his jet pack, and he was not happy with this situation knowing all the demands that he is going to receive in this regard. "What do you think you're doing, sponsor?!"
"Stand back, McLean! This is none of your business!" the guy now pointed the gun at the host. "I'll just grab that briefcase and leave! I'm within my rights!"
Seeing that he was in the crosshairs now, Chris shrugs. "Okay then."
"Chris! Aren't you going to do anything!?" Felix scolded him.
"I'm not going to tell a guy who points a gun at me what to do! It's common sense!" Chris defended himself. "Even if I get lawsuits, the ratings will be something else!"
"SILENCE!" the Hooded Guy's shout served to silence everyone and return to its position, with the gun pointed at the hostage. "This has gone too far! I want that briefcase NOW!"
Lucas groaned tiredly, "Okay, okay, I'll do it! Dang, can't I have some peace with my thoughts here."
That earned incredulous reactions from some former contestants. "Dude, don't do it! You made it to the finals! Don't give up the million now! Together we can take that guy down!" was Raymond's complaint.
"I just need an accurate shot," Clover muttered, aiming her own gun at the guy, but all the wind outside made it difficult.
"No! This is my decision and I'll do it my way!"
"Will you give me the briefcase!?" the mystery guy asked one last time.
"Let Ginger go and we've got a deal!"
The Hooded Guy looks at the hostage wincing in pain, and throws her a couple of meters away, but she was still dangerously close to its reach. "I did my part! It's your turn!"
Before everyone's trembling gaze, Lucas holds the briefcase, stretches his arm back and down and throws it hard up and in front, so that it falls on the guy.
"Finally" the guy celebrates as it stretches out his arms to catch it, but that reaction left it exposed and it didn't notice that Lucas started running towards it... and pushes it over the side, throwing it off the aircraft. However, the guy reacts quickly and only manages to hold onto Lucas's jacket, knocking him over as well. Behind them, the briefcase with the grand prize also falls and follows them in the fall.
"LUCAS!" Raymond shouted. The acrobat ran towards Chris and pushed him to the ground so he could take off his jet pack before jumping after them as well.
In the middle of the fall, Lucas and the Hooded Guy see the briefcase a few meters above them, so they swim in the air towards it. The guy is the first to catch it, but the finalist wastes no time in punching it right in the face. "IN YOUR FACE!" this blow takes it away from the briefcase.
The guy reacts and kicks him back. "RATHER IN YOURS!" it grunted in response for having just used the injured leg by Karen with her scissors, but at least it managed to get the enemy away.
The Hooded Guy manages to catch the briefcase once again, but Lucas is just as fast and grabs the other end of the briefcase as well. Furious, the guy pulls the gun out again, but he reacts and grabs its wrist to direct the sights away from him, while sounds of gunshots echo through the air and bullets fly everywhere until they run out.
With a growl, the Hooded Guy pulls the metal claws out of one of its sleeves again and tries to stab the enemy, but Lucas manages to use the briefcase as a shield, letting the claws pass through the object without hitting him. The worst thing is that the claws somehow got stuck and he can't get the briefcase off of it.
Lucas was sweating from nerves and desperation. This was not part of the plan. The guy was more persistent than he expected, and they were getting dangerously close to the ocean. And recently he realized that the area where they are going to land is plagued by sharks and killer whales.
"Lucas!" the aforementioned looks up and sees Raymond nearby, finally managing to adjust the jet pack and turning it on. "Get ready! I'm on my way!"
Lucas smiles confidently and takes one last look at the guy trying to take the briefcase out of his hands once again, "Well, this was fun and all, but it's time for me to go! Keep the briefcase, I don't need it anymore!" he leaves said briefcase and floats away slowly, while he raised his middle fingers in farewell before being rescued by Raymond in the jet pack.
The Hooded Guy just huffs as it manages to remove the metal claws from the briefcase. "At last!" the guy celebrates, but then it smells something stinky coming from inside. The guy checks to be sure...
SPLAT!
However, all it gets is a bunch of stinky garbage exploding in the face. "No!" the guy shouted, when a note hit the face, which said 'GOTCHA, DUDE!'. "NO!" the guy throws the briefcase out of frustration and anger, but when it looks down, said anger changes to horror. "NOOOOOOOOOO!" this horror is due to the fact that a whale came to the surface and saw dinner falling towards it.
The Hooded Guy falls into the whale's jaws and is completely devoured in one bite, before the animal submerges again. All this is witnessed by Lucas and Raymond, who bump fists to celebrate the end of this adventure.
Confessional
Isaac - "Despite being a dangerous evil mastermind, it's still just a dumb kid."
Back on the Ravenous Condor, the others were standing on the edge where their companions fell and trying to see if they were still alive. "Guys! Still alive!?" Julien tries to call them to no avail. However, their worries are allayed when they see Raymond flying back with Lucas in his arms.
When they land, Lucas gets out and looks at everyone before declaring, "That guy is so done!"
Everyone present, even the most reserved ones, starts celebrating and shouting with joy, happy that this Hooded Guy will no longer be a problem. Ginger, who was being helped by Sonya and Maggie and aided by Erika, lets out a sigh of relief, glad that her friend's plan worked in the end.
"Too bad you had to throw away the million, buddy," Raymond lamented.
But Lucas only had a proud smile on his face. "That's where you're wrong, buddy!"
"Excuse me! Beg pardon! Superior immortal being passing by!" Isaac pushed everyone aside as he passed and used his magic to float a familiar box before leaving it floating above the finalist boy. "I think this belongs to you now."
Isaac uses his magic to pick the lock on the box, opening it and letting tons of money fall on top of Lucas, burying him in a mountain of money. He manages to poke his head over the mountain of money, before Chris comes to grab his arm and lift him into the air, all while he makes the big announcement:
"In front of all of you, I'm pleased to announce the winner of Total Drama Enchanted... LUCAS!"
All, or almost all, of the contestants once again celebrate and applaud in joy, especially the winner's group of friends. Raymond, Julien, Nigel and Tony surround him and throw him into the air in celebration. A smile from ear to ear was what Lucas had as he received all the congratulations. The others smiled and gave their round of applause in recognition or even cheered him on. The only ones who didn't celebrate were Agatha, who sees him as weak and not worthy of his victory, Felix, who is still bitter about his defeat, and Hunter, who just circles his one eye without caring at all.
And while Lucas' group of friends cheered him on, Ginger's group of friends, consisting of Sonya, Maggie, Erika and Chantal, took her defeat as a group and went to her to offer her support.
"I'm sorry you didn't win, sister," Sonya apologized.
Ginger just watched her fellow finalist receive all the praise, and she remembers the heart-to-heart talk they had, which helped her understand what true friendship is. With that in mind, she replies, "Meh, I'm fine with that. Even if I didn't win the prize, I got something more important: real friends!"
The other girls smile as they surround her in a big group hug. But it only lasts a little while before they break away to see someone familiar crawling towards the finalist girl.
"What do you want, Karen?" Maggie asked disdainfully.
"Are you going to apologize? If not that, then you can leave" Sonya spat.
Ginger, on the other hand, walks in front with the help of a cane that Chantal got her and stands face to face with her exfriend. "Is something wrong, Karen?" she asked kindly.
"I just want to say... that I don't plan to apologize, because I don't regret what I did in the contest. I enjoyed it too much to seek forgiveness" Karen sighs before continuing. "But one thing you should know is that nothing I did was personal. All the time I spent with you was fun. Now that I'm free, I'd like to get together with you again someday if you don't mind."
"Is that the closest we'll get to an apology?" the cowgirl asked.
"Yeah".
"You're insane".
"I've been told worse."
However, Ginger just walks closer to Karen... and gives her a big hug. "I'm not going to forgive you right away, but we can gladly try again. No drama this time." That took Karen by surprise, but she answers with a warm and sincere smile of gratitude.
Then, with the help of her friends, Ginger is carried up to Lucas, who is taken down by his friends so they can have their talk.
"Lucas, I just want to say… thank you for all your help. I really needed this. Now I can tell real friends from fake ones. You earned that million dollars."
"Thanks, Ginger! You were a worthy rival too. And I suppose I should thank you too. Turns out, I just needed a little push to use my brain for the first time in a long time. That's why I made the decision... to use the money to pay for the back to high school and make up for lost time."
"Hallelujah!" Rita and Felix celebrated without emotion.
"Wouldn't he be a little old to take high school?" Erika asked.
"Let him enjoy his moment, babe," Julien replied. "He'll have plenty of time to think about that when he gets home."
"If you need help, I'll be happy to lend a hand," Ginger offered.
"Count me in too! I have methods to make homework fun" Raymond explained.
"And some music usually helps you think... sometimes" Sonya added proudly.
Lucas was surprised by all the support he was receiving, and smiled warmly, "Thanks, guys. I'll keep that in mind," he said sincerely, before collecting some of the money on his hands. "But until then, I plan to enjoy this like you can't imagine" he takes a breath before exclaiming: "LOSERS! IMAGINE HAVING NOT WON A SINGLE CENT, THAT'S SO EMBARRASSING! WHAT DO YOU THINK A PRIZE FIGHT? OH, THAT'S RIGHT! YOU DON'T HAVE ANY! MWAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA! I'M SMARTER THAN ALL OF YOU!"
"Ugh, Lucas, for the last time... No, wait. This time you actually said it right" Felix commented.
Most just sigh tiredly and roll their eyes, ignoring Lucas' teasing. Only his friends laugh and enjoy the moment, and Ginger steps forward and hugs her fellow finalist excitedly, causing Lucas's cheeks to redden a little.
While all the contestants were celebrating and chatting happily with each other, relieved that everything finally ended well, Chris looked at the camera to bring closure to all of this:
"And with that, another season has come to an end! Lucas now joins Gwen, Beth, Alejandro, Lightning, Mike and Sky on Total Drama's list of alternate winners. This season had it all: action, comedy, romance, suspense, and most importantly, drama! But everything that begins, has to end. And this season ends with a happy ending."
"This is a happy ending?" Felix asked indignantly.
"Who cares? It's an ending, that's what matters! Thank you very much for your attention, for your endless waits and for having been aware of everything that happened to us. Without you, this would not have been possible! And I hope count on all of you in the next season!"
"NEXT SEASON!?" all the horrified contestants exclaimed, Lucas accidentally pushing Ginger to the ground.
"Of course! You all signed a contract! You won't get away from me that easily!" the host enjoyed instilling fear in his victims. "Until then, I'm Chris McLean! And this has been...!"
"Total!"
"Drama!"
"Enchanted!"
All the contestants overcome the shock and return to help the poor injured girl to continue the celebration. In the cockpit, Chef Hatchet regains control of the aircraft and sails back towards the mainland, while he presses some buttons. Fireworks were fired from the cannons as the Ravenous Condor receded on the horizon, all while the Total Drama symphony played in the background...

Author's Notes
Well, here's what was promised. There was just a small change of mind that won't cause problems. In the end I decided to have the alternate ending and the post-credits scene as separate chapters. I will upload the post-credits scene soon, I promise before New Year's, and it will be the last chapter I will upload before I can mark this story as complete.
Speaking of this ending itself, there's not much new to comment on, other than Ginger and Lucas swapping roles, with Ginger getting the shot and Lucas being the one to take down the Hooded Guy. There are some extra scenes that are an important part of Lucas' character arc, but since all of this is not canon, I'll save that for another time.
Now let's talk about what you are interested in hearing...

THE NEXT SEASON!
TOTAL DRAMA: IT'S ABOUT TIME!
Synopsis: Two weeks after the conclusion of Enchanted, Chris McLean and Chef Hatchet return with another season, back to the old abandoned film set used only in the second season. This time with a new theme for the challenges: different eras in the history of humanity!
Eighteen contestants from the new cast return for another chance at the million dollars, and they are accompanied by three new faces. These twenty-one contestants will have to overcome all kinds of challenges based on different eras in history, such as Egyptians, pirates, cowboys, knights, gladiators, cavemen, explorers, surfers, rappers, among many other things.
Drama, conflict, tension, suspense and... a conspiracy? An invasion? Everything awaits the contestants in the new season. Let the games begin!
As I already clarified, the new season is still far from being released, but at least now you know what to expect from it. They're excited? I hope so, because this new season I will make sure it is much better than the previous one, now that we know the participants well. This was just to whet your appetite because I'm evil.
Thank you very much for your attention. Stay tuned for the post-credits scene that will arrive soon, because it will also serve as a preview of the next season. See ya!
