Quaquaval and Meowscarada got into a fighting pose ready to face each other down.
"Low Sweep!" Quaquaval swung forward leg outstretched to kick Meowscarada.
"Dodge it!" Meowscarada Nimble jumped up and down avoiding the Low Sweep.
"Now use Thunder Punch!" Fist becoming surrounded by crackling yellow static Meowscarada upper cut Quaquaval with the Thunder Punch.
"Now use Bullet Seed!" Meowscarada fired multiple energy seeds at Quaquaval.
"Acrobatics!" Quaquaval became outlined in white and blue kicking through the seeds and rapidly smacking Meowscarada.
"Low Sweep!"
"Use Flower Trick!" Meowscarada dropped another bouquet overpowering Quaquaval.
"Alright that's it Tulio it's time to Terastylize"
"Quaq-qu-qu-Vaul!" Quaquaval eagerly slapped the Tera Orb with his hand creating a burst of blue light and the water tera Crystal to appear on his head.
"Use Flower Trick again!"
"Aqua Jet!" Quaquaval slammed into Meowscarada before she could get off the Flower Trick.
"Aqua Step!" Quaquaval struck with rapid fluid steps flecks of blue coming off his feet making him faster.
"Low Sweep!"
"Counter with Thunder Punch!" the two attacks met bursting in red/white and yellow energy.
"Acrobatics!"
"Use Night Slash!" Quaquaval danced between each other Meowscarada's glowing white claws clashed with Quaquaval's feet and hands.
"Aqua Step!"
"Dodge it then Flower Trick!" Because of the speed boost from before Meowscarad could not dodge the Aqua-Step but could get off Flower Trick heavily damaging both of them.
"Low Sweep!"
"Night Slash" The two moves collided in a burst of red, white, and black before a burst of bright blue crystals burst into the air and Quaquaval flew to the ground fainted.
However, on the other side of the battlefield, Meowscarada also fainted.
Definitely an improvement that Tulio was able to tie with Meowscarada who was clearly stronger.
"Martillo Vamos!"
"Pawmot let's go!" Pawmot landed on the battlefield getting poisoned by the Toxic Spikes.
"Play Rouge!"
"Counter with Arm Thrust!" Play Rouge overpowered the Arm Thrust but the momentum from the arm strikes launched Pawmot back far away from Tinkatuff.
"Flash Cannon!"
"Use Revival Blessing!" Pawmot did a sacred dance her body becoming enveloped in a glowing white and pink aura forming a beam that transferred onto Ninetail's Pokeball.
The Flash Cannon hit its mark knocking Pawmot over.
"Rock Smash!"
"Use Volt Switch!" after getting smacked by the glowing red hammer Pawmot launched an orb of blue electricity tagging out with Cyclizar.
"Use Rapid Spin!"
"Take it then Rock Smash!" Rapid Spin hit Tinkatuff blowing away the Toxic Spikes Well Tinkatuff struck the bike Pokémon in the gut with Rock Smash.
"Flash Cannon!"
"Counter with Overheat!" Cyclizar blasted a swirling stream of fire from his mouth overpowering the Flash Cannon and hitting Tinkatuff for massive damage.
"Jump into the air!" Tinkatuff leaped upward as Cyclizar went for another Overheat.
"Knock Off!" bringing her hammer down Tinkatuff cut through the flames slamming the Knock Off onto Cyclizar's head taking extra damage from the poison.
"Rapid Spin!"
"Play Rouge!" Rapid Spin and Play Rouge collided in a cloud of smoke Cyclizard came flying out fainted well Tinkatuff stood over him giggling.
"Pawmot let's go!" Pawmot landed on the field no longer poisoned its Natural Cure clearing its condition.
"Play Rouge!"
"Take it then counter with Wild Charge!" After taking the Play Rouge Pawmot plowed into Tinkatuff with Wild Charge.
"Now use Volt Switch!" Well, Tinkatuff was still on the ground Pawmot attacked with Volt Switch knocking out Tinkatuff and swapping her out for Ninetails.
By this point, it was all over Ninetails easily overpowered Toedscruel's Giga Drain with Blizzard knocking out Toedscruel in one hit.
Well it was certainly an improvement over last time being able to take out three fully evolved Pokémon from Nemona's team including her Meowscarada but she needed to work on playing around Nemona's setup strategies next time.
"Oh man Julianna you know how much stronger you've gotten with strength like that I was almost on the ropes"
"Thanks, Nemona what are are planning on doing after this?"
"Probably challenge Ryme later but I'll use my stronger team for that what about you?"
"Oh same thing but my team needs to rest so I'll be back in a day or so"
"Alright we're here," Florian said in delight as he slipped into the Montenevera contest hall.
"Okay everybody remember to do your best" Florian's team nodded in agreement.
"Good so our first match is against Kuiper her team is generally fast so we are going with Senhor-Sanduíche and Miguel since they are slower for Trick Room"
As Florian was waiting in the dressing room Florian felt a hand placed on his shoulder.
"Florian hey man how's it been?" Oort asked.
"Oh hey man I'm glad to see you how's it going since the Team Star thing"
"Well me and Kuiper aren't in Team Star anymore"
"Really?"
"Ya it was a joint decision" Kuiper added coming up on Oort's side.
"So do you like want me to call you by you're actual names cuz I don't mind using Ana and Javier"
"You can call us whatever you want we're still friends after all"
"What about you do what do you want us to call you?"
"You can call me anything Florian, Farbuti, Florida, Fidel"
"So are you still a part of Team Star or?"
"Kuiper!"
"What it's important to know"
"No, I'm not looking back on it I don't know why I even joined that it just kind of joined for the sake of joining"
"Whaaat are you saying that I'm not worth the cost of admission!" Oort said fake dramatically.
"Oh come on Oort quit it with the dramatics"
"Of course, it was meeting you two was the best thing to come out of it. I just mean that… I never got invited to anything when I was younger because I never wanted to do anything and wanting to do something for the first time it felt so new and exciting so I flew in head first without thinking about it"
"Aww Florian you're going to make me cry" Kuiper gushed.
"Well we can think about the crying part later because you two have to perform against each other" Oort ushered them out.
"Good luck!" Oort smiled before going back into the waiting room.
Kuiper sent out Grafaiai and Salazzle well Florian sent out Skeledirge and Girafarig.
"Girafarig use Trick Room"
"Use Trailblaze!" Salazzle and Grafaiai leaped around each other feet glowing bright green and slapping into Florian's team Grafaiai's Poison Touch poisoning Skeledirge.
With the stamp of his hooves, Girafarig created a square of pink and white squares.
"Use Shadow Ball and Psybeam!"
"Use Fire Lash and Slash!" being faster under Trick Room Florian's team was faster only letting Kuiper's team avoid direct damage from the attacks which still resulted in more points for Florian.
"Use Acid Spray and Incinerate!"
"Counter with Torch Song and Dazzling Gleam!"
The swirling mix of Acid Spray and Incinerate was stopped by the Torch Song and Dazzling Gleam bursting in a blast of red, pink, and purple.
Skeledire took another tick of damage from the poison. Florian would have to finish this before this took too long.
"Girafarig, jump off Skeledirge's snout" Girafarig jumped off of Skeledirge's snout flying towards the opponent.
"Now use Stomp!" Girafarig slammed down on Salazzle.
"Use Slash!" Grafaiai upper cut Girafarig getting him off of Salazzle.
"Use Yawn!" Skeledirge blew a large white bubble hitting Grafaiai and causing him to fall asleep.
The twisted dimensions returned to normal resetting the speed tiers to normal.
"Use Psybeam!"
"Use Trailblaze!" with its speed returned to normal Salazzle kicked Girafarig with Trailblaze causing the Psybeam to miss.
"Use Sludge Bomb!"
"Use Shadow Ball!"
The Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb collided in mid-air when the purplish-black smoke cleared Girafarig got up shakily well Salazzle lay fainted.
Grafaiai had woken up and the contest was back on again.
"Use Torch Song and Dazzling Gleam!"
"Dodge it with Trailblaze!" using its speed Grafaiai dodged the two attacks leaping into the air above them.
"Now use U-Turn!" with a back flip Girafarig fell to the ground and fainted well Grafaiai landed to face Skeledirge.
"Use Torch Song!"
"Dodge it then Acid Spray!" with its boosted speed Grafaiai was able to avoid the attack than used Acid Spray lowering Skeledirge's Special Defense.
"Use Acid Spray again!"
"Wait for the Acid Spray then stand up!" once the Acid Spray was close Skeledirge got up on his back legs.
"Now use Torch Song" Skeledirge went for another Torch Song launching the acid back upward as it ignited falling as burning cinders.
"Use Slash!" Grafaiai began cutting through the purple cinders not attacking.
"Use Fire Pledge!" Skeledirge created pillars of fire enveloping Grafaiai well it was trying to cut through the falling ash.
When the pillars cleared Grafaiai landed fainted leaving Skeledirge and Florian as the winner.
"Shit Florian you're pretty good at this"
"Well thank you I'd hope I'd be good at this after this long"
"You're pretty strong as a battler is there a reason why you choose contests" Kuiper asked.
"Oh I always saw regular battles as too extreme for me as a child then my dad mentioned had the flare of a performer so I pursued that from there on"
"That's actually almost the same reason I went into contests" Oort explained "Normal battling was never my thing maybe it's because my mom is a nurse guess I was destined to never be much of a fighter"
"And speaking of contests you are up against Ms. Trinity in one right now" Kuiper shoved Oort out to face Trinity.
"Hey Javier good luck out there!" Cherry's friend Nashi yelled from the crowd.
"Didn't know they were that close to each other" Florian remarked.
"Oh, ya we started talking with each other from our group chat I swear half of their conversations are them flirting with each other without realizing it"
"Ya, that sounds like Oort to me… wait flirting!"
"Swanna Dondozo let's get going"
"Gumshoos Rabsca go"
"Use Extrasensory and Wild Charge!" Rabsca picked up Gumshoos with Extrasensory sending the Wild Charge towards the water types.
"Use Rock Slide and Flip Turn!" Swanna flipped between the rocks colliding with Gumshoos sending both of them back.
"Use Seed Bomb and Energy Ball"
"Use Noble Roar and Air Slash!" Dondozo let out an ear-splitting roar, that and the Air Slash pushed the two grass attacks right back into Gumshoos and Rabsca.
"Use Dive and Liquidation!" Dondozo went underwater as Swanna's wings and feet became covered in water as she attacked.
As this happened Dondozo emerged with Dive creating a spray of water that illuminated the battlefield with a tint of rainbow light.
Florian gritted his teeth already in a minute Trinity had taken momentum in a minute and this wasn't looking good.
