"What did your parents think?" Mia asked
"They were impressed so far." Katherine smiled
"That's good." Jess smiled
"They wanted to make sure Berry High is as well rounded when it comes to sport." said Katherine
"Heh! No problem! Just tell them how we've crushed Hearst at every sport." Julian chuckled
"They not interested in football and basketball. They want Berry to start polo team play against Athena and win." Katherine sighed
"Are they even human? Rich people have strange taste." Julian frowned
"That's just like the Homecoming Game. My Dad love sport football, basketball you name it. He used to play a lot of sports when he was around our age he was the star athlete, he'll let me transfer if Berry can play against Hearst and win to show how talented the football team is." said Autumn
"Lacey also the star athlete." Katherine sighed
"By cheating, blackmailing people?" Mia glared
"Lacey aced in PE as far as I know her she joined polo team when she came to Athena. From what I heard she been horseriding since she was ten years old." Katherine explains
"She really that good?" Autumn sighed
"She won several awards she hates losing. It turns out I'm pretty good at polo I love horseriding my parents signed me up for horseriding class."
"We could use you on the polo team. Listen up Katherine parent have a taste in polo they want to see us talented and win. Jess as the student council president you need to gather horses, polo gear and recruit players." Mia ordered
"Aye aye captain." Jess gathers funding buying polo gear. Jess goes around recruiting players most student weren't interested.
Koh groaned. "Rich people have strange taste. Horsing not my thing Sunshine."
The other half are already in a club. Some people agreed to join Mia, Katherine, Isabella, Gina and Ashley
Polo team gathered on a field learning how to play polo, Mia announced. "Alright listen up we have a shot impressing Katherine parent winning against Athena. That mean like it or not we have to learn to play this dumb sport."
"Okay we'll be playing according to the Hurlingham rules. It gets pretty complicated but the main thing to understand is the line of the ball. Basically when the player has the ball, there's an imaginary line extending in the direction that the ball is travelling and it's illegal to cross that line."
Isabella groaned. "Imaginary line? How do we know if we're all imagining the same line? This is already too complicated!"
"Basically just don't ride in front of another player. Got it?" Katherine smiled
"Can I be the referee?" Nishan asked
"Do you know the rule?" Katherine asked
"I spend most of my childhood playing Sensible World of Polo on my dad's computer." Nishan smiled
"That's good enough for me." Katherine smiled. "You can push her off the line of the ball by riding up next to her and bumping her, like hockey, so long you don't endanger other player. You can try to hook the other player mallet with your mallet, but can only do this from the side that the ball is on and you can't use your mallet to hit other player or her horse."
"We can't smack Lacey with a mallet?" Gina asked
"As much I want to smack a piñata we can't Katherine parents will never let her transfer." said Mia
The polo team led the horses onto the field learning how to play polo with Katherine help everyone mounts their horse and practice riding around the field. Katherine hits the ball toward the far goal! Mia rushes to take possession of it. But Katherine beats her there, she takes the ball and heads up the field toward the goal. "Tally ho." Mia angles her horse up beside Katherine and gently nudge her off course. Mia spin the mallet and chip the ball back toward the other goal.
"Tally ho." Mia cheered
"Nice." Nishan cheered
After lots of practice the team is starting to come together. "I'm feeling confident." Ashley smiled
"The team looking great." Katherine smiled
"We're not going to lose to her. Listen up the game on Friday we're practicing our butt off getting the hang of the dumb sport together we'll crush Lacey." Mia ordered
"What about cheerleading?" Katherine asked
"Sierra taking over we're friends Katherine."
The polo team practiced really hard getting the hang of this sport. Friday came Jess lead Katherine parent to their seat. She see Bridgette get ready to compete
"Hey cousin since when you take polo?" Bridgette asked
"Since I'm trying to impress Katherine parent we'll crush Athena." Mia glared
"That will be the other way around I been training since I was ten years old." Lacey smirked
"I'm going to wipe that smile off your face."
Katherine, Isabella and Gina take the field with Mia on the lead.
"Don't trip Kat." Lacey smiled
"Don't listen to her." Mia comfort
Nishan blows the whistle the game begin. Lacey horse rocket forward and she quickly take possession of the ball
"Oh no you don't." Mia glared, she gallops to stop Lacey but Lacey too far ahead. "Come on Stacey." Lacey twirls her mallet and knocks the ball through the post.
"First point to Athena." Lacey smiled
The polo team groans, Jess notice Katherine parent exchange a knowing look
Nishan whistle blow again Mia passes to Isabella. "All right Lacey let see you outrun all of us." Isabella passes the field to Ashley who pressured by Bridgette
"Gina a little help." Ashley frowned
"I'm on it." Gina glared, she rides up between Ashley and the opposing player and bumps the opponent off course.
"Gina up here!" Mia called
With the Athena team focused on the other players, Mia manages to slip up the side of the field toward the Athena goal.
Gina keeps the opposing player off Ashley long enough for her to complete her pass. The ball arcs through the air and lands right in front of Mia. She whirls her mallet around her wrist and smacks the ball through the goal post. "Tally ho! Hitting stuff with sticks I can finally understand this dumb sport."
Nishan whistle again and Isabella gets into position for Mia pass.
"Not this time." Lacey scoops the ball before Mia can hit it and punt it down the field toward their goal. But Mia pull up next to her. They're racing neck and neck down the pitch when Mia hook her mallet around Lacey and take possession of the ball.
"Not good enough." Lacey jerk on the rein and slam into Mia. Her horse neighs sharply and tosses its head pulling Mia off the line of the ball. "What the heck was that?! Foul!" Mia exclaimed
"Sorry princess." Lacey smiled she swing the mallet low and hit the ball into the goal! Everyone in Berry side boo loudly.
"Ref do something." Gina glared
"Sorry the goal count." Nishan lectured
"Ugh fine who going to swap?" Mia asked
"I'm going in." Katherine smiled
Katherine, Brianna and Demi took their place, Nishan blows the whistle and the match resume. Brianna takes possession of the ball, Katherine quickly catches up to her. Lacey leans low in the saddle and scoop the ball away from Brianna. Lacey spur her horse and gallops toward her goal, her mallet raised to score. Brianna rides up alongside Lacey horse and throw out an arm to ward her off the line of the ball. Brianna pivot sharply, her mallet whistle through the air and chip the ball up the field toward Demi who traps it. Demi hits the ball up the field toward Brianna. Lacey and the rest of the Athena team race up the field like a stampede.
Brianna looks up where Katherine wait along and unguarded and whacks the ball through the air just as Lacey and her teammates thunder past. The ball lands in front of Katherine, her parents are standing up craning their neck to see Katherine alone in front of the goal the polo teammates charge forward trying frantically to catch up with Lacey and the Athena players who are closing in on Katherine.
"Katherine take the shot!" Mia shouted
Katherine swing the mallet down through the air it skim along the grass toward the ball, Lacey hurtle pass Katherine crossing the line of the ball and startling her horse. Katherine horse rears back on it hind leg throwing her to the ground
"Foul." Nishan yelled blowing the whistle, the team rushes to see if Katherine okay
"Sorry Kat I tried to stop Starlight I couldn't control him don't blame him I didn't give Starlight enough attention." Lacey sobbed
The polo team groaned in annoyance knowing Lacey putting on a act to get rid of Katherine
Wes glares angrily. "That witch crossed the line hurting Katherine, I got a secret weapon that will slay the dragon."
Mia helps Katherine to her feet as her friends gather around her. "Katherine are you okay? That looked terrible." Jess sighed
"Yeah I'm fine I'm so sorry I didn't take the shot earlier." Mia pulls Katherine to a hug
"Who cares I'm just glad you're not hurt." Mia sighed
Katherine parent approach the group her parent led her off the parking lot. They all watch leave in silence.
"Why aren't they leaving?" Lacey exclaimed
Katherine rushes happily to her friend
"Why is she so happy?" Lacey snarls
"Guys I got good news. My parent are letting me transfer." Katherine smiled
"You LOST!" Lacey shouted
"They were impressed how my team first priority was to make sure I was okay. They liked you weren't angry with me." Katherine smiled
Mia hugged Katherine. "You're going to love it here."
"You don't want to transfer away from your bestie. Sorry I need time to say goodbye to Kat."Lacey sobbed pulling Katherine away. "Don't think about transferring there no guarantee I'll keep your secret."
Katherine sighed sadly she can't transfer school with Lacey knowing her secret. Jess and her friend glared angrily knowing Lacey blackmailing Katherine to stay at Athena. Wes smiled know how to get Lacey off Katherine back "I got this. Why don't we go for a walk as old friends?" Wes pull Lacey aside to chat privately
"What do you want Sketchy McSketcherson?" Lacey sneered
"Your going to keep quiet Lacey Pandora." Wes smirked posing as Katherine lawyer file a restraining order
"Why on earth would I do that? What are you smiling about?" Lacey glared
"Ha, there wasn't any proof until now." Wes holds up a video
"I had a friend of mine to film your true motive all it took is your confession. For the first time we have something on you, karma bites back sweetie. It would look bad at a rich prep school you will lose your status as student council president someone deserve the spot better than you that isn't a complete psycho. You'll lose your popularity everyone at Athena will know who behind the mask they wouldn't want to be friends with a snake. The proof will be enough to send your sorry butt back to juvie, I hear terrible things they don't let you use conditioner. If Katherine goes down you go down as well." Lacey grit angrily at Wes. "Yep angry suits you from that fake sweet voice of yours."
"Alright you win Sketchy I'll keep quiet!" Lacey shouted
"That's not all your going to cooperate with me or the video leaks viral." Wes threatened dangerously
"Let's make this quick, what is it you want?!" Lacey glared
"One you stop messing with Katherine. Two you leave Katherine alone and three we never want to see you again."
"Like I ever want to see you losers again." Lacey sneered
"Good I know you won't go back on your word if you do I'll tell my friends to forward this to Athena and the police."
"I'll get it I'll stop messing Kat life!"
"Glad to hear it nice chatting Lacey." Wes walks away
Katherine sighed in relief. "Bridgette will hate me forever."
"I'm sorry Katherine we're your friends we're here for you." said Jess
"Thanks guys you're a real friend." Katherine smiles
"I got good news for Katherine." Wes smiled. "Lacey not going to say a word. Even better news Lacey going to leave you alone."
"Thank you Wes." Katherine tackles Wes in a huge hug.
"How on earth did you convince Lacey?" Jess exclaimed
"A magician never reveals his secrets." Wes smirked
Mia hugged Katherine. "Welcome to Berry High."
"I'm a bit sad you leaving Kat. Ever since you hang around Lacey I figured you didn't want to friends anymore." Bridgette sighed sadly
"I'm sorry Bridge, nothing changed we'll still be best friends even we're at different school." Katherine gave a weak smile
"Are we still best friends?"
Katherine smiled hugged Bridgette.
