Christmas Dreams Ch 6
As everybody got settled in Derek and Penelope decided to stay together in one bedroom, they saw no reason to split up and go into separate rooms, especially since they were dating causing everybody to grin. Penelope still had 2 whole days that she had to keep her pregnancy a secret, it was going to be hard to hide the sudden waves of nausea from everybody, especially Fran Morgan who had been a nurse since before her children were born.
Penelope loved spending time with everybody at the cabin, with their busy schedules they rarely got to go away like this together and it being the Christmas holiday only made it more amazing, add to that the snow and so far her holiday was perfect. Fran had been watching Penelope since her and Derek arrived at the cabin, something was off with her but what, Fran couldn't put a finger on it but something was definitely different with the beautiful blonde.
After dinner, which Penelope only took a few bites of due to nausea the family decided to watch Christmas movies before turning in for the night, so they all cuddled together in front of the fireplace and watched several Christmas cartoons and movies before finally calling it a night around 11:00
Later that night when she was getting ready for bed Penelope was hit with another wave of nausea but this time the wave didn't last long and had soon passed by, leaving behind a very happy Penelope Garcia. Derek climbed in bed behind her and snuggled close to her, she relaxed in his embrace and soon found herself getting sleepy again, she remembered JJ and Em both being tired a lot during the first trimester of their pregnancies, she guessed that it was now her turn.
The next morning Penelope woke up earlier than Derek, she was hungry where she hadn't eaten much the night before so she headed downstairs to grab some toast or something and when she got downstairs she stopped in the doorway when she saw Fran. Fran looked at the pale girl and said, "come and sit down honey, I'll fix you some toast, okay?", Penelope nodded her head as she walked over and sat down at the island in the middle of the kitchen.
Fran had fixed her a couple of pieces of toast and when they popped out she put a little honey on them before handing them to Penelope, who picked a piece of toast up and took a bite and said, "ohhhh, i like this honey that you added to the toast, it's helping to" and she stopped before she said, "settling my stomach" but she didn't have to say anything because Fran said, "I ate this all the time when I was pregnant with all three of my kids".
Penelope looked at her and said, "uh uh Fran I", Fran put her hand on top of Penelope's and said, "you're pregnant, right?", Penelope said, "I am, I just found out yesterday, I'm about 3 weeks along". Fran grinned happily at the bubbly blonde and said, "soooooo that puts you getting pregnant around or on Thanksgiving?", Penelope blushed and nodded her head yes, Fran pulled her into her arms and said, "congratulations sweetie, I'm so happy, I'm finally getting those grand babies Derek has been promising me".
Penelope said, "Fran, please don't say anything to or around Derek", she said, "why, is it a secret?", Penelope said, "for now but don't worry I'm going to let everybody know on Christmas morning, I have a big surprise planned for Derek". Fran said, "you can count on me honey", Penelope smiled and said, "thank you" as she then ate the rest of her toast and drank a cup of tea, Fran being a nurse new a lot of home remedies for morning sickness and she'd shown Penelope one already, one that was doing the trick for sure.
A few minutes later the family started coming downstairs, Fran, Sarah and Desi were busy fixing breakfast while Penelope and the others waited in the living room and watched the television to check on the winter storm that was quickly working it's way across the area right now.
Reid said, "well if they are right, we'll get around 2 1/2 to 3 feet of snow before this is over and if that happens we won't be leaving here until after the New Year", Derek wrapped his arm around his baby girl and said, "and that's just fine with me, what better place would you want to be stuck in then here, I mean we have anything and everything that we could need, so I say let it snow", Jack and Henry were cheering the snow and clapping their hands.
Fran called the family into the dining room for breakfast and while they were enjoying a delicious meal Jack and Henry had asked if they could go outside later and make a snowman to which Reid and Hotch quickly said yes and that they would help. Fran and the girls had planned to get the Christmas ornaments out this morning so that later this evening they could decorate the tree together as one big happy family.
Penelope had hidden several waves of nausea thanks to the help of a woman that she hoped would one day be her mother-in-law, Fran Morgan Rossi
